Domain Suffix Search Order - Scope Option 135

Does Scope Option 135: Domain Suffix Search Order get flowed to clients as a feature of Server 2012 Standard?  It seems to work on our server running 2008 R2 Enterprise but not on our server running 2012 Standard... I'm wondering if I'm missing
something in the configuration.
Thanks,

I found my own answer. Scope option 135 is not supported by Microsoft DHCP.  Thanks to Ace Fekay post on his website "Configuring DNS Search Suffixes" Feb 12, 2011

  • Domain suffix search howto in DHCP

I was hoping to use dhcp to configure domain suffix search . not sure where to begin.
tried using a  GPO but we have to many developer that need to be able to modify the domain suffix search order locally etc.
migrating domain server and users to a new domain and they need to be able to resolve name with using the FQDN.
    thank you

    Hi,
DHCP option 015 DNS domain name defines primary DNS suffix.
And domain suffix search list is usually defined via GPO.
Here I think we can create a different GPO and apply to those developers need to modify it.
    Hope this helps.

  • People Picker search order with multiple forest domains

I had customer with multiple forest domain environment. Now the problem is that all users from one domain synced to the resource domain(Domain A) where sharepoint is installed.
The peoplepicker is now finding at first the user in Domain A where sharepoint is installed. My Solution is now to specify the order of searching in People Picker that first all users in Domain B will return and if there is noting will return Domain A.
All SharePoint Server(s) had Network Access to the other Domains. And there are two-way-trust konfigured.
    Any Solution for that?
    Thanks for your feedback!
    P.

Regardless of search order, you would get both results returned. Have you tried using the UserAccountDirectoryPath property on the Site Collection to specify DC=domainB,DC=com?

This post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or view of Microsoft, its employees, or other MVPs.
Nice to now that i can set it up per site collection. But it do not work in my case, it indeed returned users from Domain B but Domain A, C, D and F(Examples) are excluded from People Picker.

  • ISE 1.2 Domain suffix

    Hi.
I have a question regarding the domain suffix for the ISE 1.2 installation. I am about to install distrubuted ISE.
The domain name for my ISE nodes will be like this ISE1.XXX.BBB.YYY.LOCAL and ISE2.XXX.BBB.YYY.LOCAL and PKI infrastructure will push machine certificates to the endpoints with the same suffix client1.XXX.BBB.YYY.LOCAL. I will use the machine certificate on the endpoints to validate the EAP-TLS process.
    The installation (WIRELESS ONLY):
    EAP-TLS (SSIDX)
    PEAP (SSIDX)
    Guest Self Registration (SSIDC)
Will this kind of DNS suffix give any problems because I am not use best practice suffix like ISE1.mydomain.local? I also need to have public certificate for the guest SSID to avoid warning messages for the endpoints. Can the PSN nodes handle more than one DOMAIN NAME / DNS name?

In the ISE Under Administration > Identity Management > External Identity Sources
Choose Active Directory on the Left, Select your AD Server and select Advanced Settings
Under Identity Suffix Strip, Make sure Strip prefixes listed below: is selected (I know, it says prefix).
In the List of Suffixes box, enter your list of domain suffixes to strip.  The separating character is a comma (,).
If this doesn't fix your issue, then I am afraid that a call to TAC may be in order.
    *****UPDATE*****
Spaces are significant characters.  When listing domains, do so as such:
    @domain.com,@domain.local,@testdomain.com
    *****END UPDATE*****

    Hello Experts,

Isthere any otehrway to achieve this ?
Pointers to this would be helpful.

    Sanjib

    Hi Sanjib,
Do you really need an enhancement for this?
    1. Can you see the invoices created for your order as a part of the document flow in BoB webshop order?
    2. Also, hope you have done the setting in TRANSACTION tab in SHOPADMIN Setting for your BoB Webshop
If yes, you should be able to search the Transaction with the INVOICE option.
    Hope this will be useful

  • Address Book - Name Completion Search Order missing books

We have Groupwise 8.0.2 running on Netware 6.5 SP8
Problem: in the Address Book, the Name Completion Search Order shows different Available Books depending on the computer, but no computer has all the available books.
Computer 1: (the user's pc): Windows 7. The Available Books has only the Groupwise Address Book and the Frequent Contacts. It does not show the user's personal address book as being available, it is not even listed in the box.
Computer 2: Windows 7. The available books box is empty.
Computer 3: (my pc) Windows XP. Logging into Groupwise with the user's account, the available books box is empty (same as Computer 2), but when I go into my account, all 3 books are showing (Groupwise, Personal, and Frequent Contacts)

    Hi
like Laura said, there are different misc. support options for gwcheck:
    PABCHANGEFIX
    PABDELDUPREC
    PABFIX
    PABONLY
Do they correct anything if you run them
    1. against the caching mailbox (if used)
    2. against the online box?
IMHO there should be a "how to" when the users personal address book is missing/deleted and not just closed...
    Just google a bit ;)
    Cheers,

You must be thinking about another browser. FireFox has a Tools menu--Safari does not. Most of the things FireFox puts under its Tools menu are found in Safari preferences.
Editing or customizing the toolbar is accessible through Safari's View menu. If you need advanced features found unde "Web Developer" in the FireFox Tools menu, you can activate Safari's "Develop" menu by doing Safari > Preferencs and selecting the "Advanced "tab. At the bottom is a checkbox to show the Develop menu.
Here is a comparison. FireFox's "Tools" menu with the web developer options expanded:
    Safari's "Develop" menu after activation:

You can refer to bug - 2418089. This was fixed in 9.0.2.3
    begin
    wwpre_api_value.set_value_as_number
    p_path => 'oracle.portal.search',
    p_name => 'searchresultpageid',
    p_level_type => wwpre_api_value.SYSTEM_LEVEL_TYPE,
    p_level_name => null,

    p_commit => true
    commit;

NOTE - The difference is the value of 'p_name' attribute. If u see carefully it is 'searchresultpagesiteid'. The first time u run this the value is 'searchresultpageid'.

  • Missing domain suffix tab

Since updating my iPad to ios8 when using the keyboard in Safari the tab for the domain suffix is no longer visible as it was in ios7.
Is this hidden or has it just been removed?

    Hi dankton12,
If you tap and hold the period, you will get a list of frequent used suffixes. Take a look at the link below and let me know if this is what you are referring to.

  • Purchase order printout option

    Dear sir
i am pharma industry. I am doing one purchase order.
This purchase order print option only through ME9F TCODE.
I want to restrict print priview and also print option in me22n and also me23n. Is it possible.
Any setting in customozing or any other setting possible.
    pls forward reply

    Hi
As already pointed out by other collegues
there is no customizing option available which can provide you with the desired scenario here.
Maybe you can have control in the following manner
The only thing which can be done is the following: if the customizing
settings are adjusted accordingly, the system can ensure that every
message is created with a transmission time spot '3' ('send with own
transaction / application') instead of '4' ('send immediately').
As a consequence, each message has to be released via transaction ME9F
then. And if the user does NOT have the permission to CHANGE that
PO, only for DISPLAYING it, then the result comes close to what you
    expect, I guess.
The transmission time spot '3' has to be entered in the referring
purchasing settings, following the link 'materials management ->
purchasing -> messages -> output control -> message determination
schemes -> define message scheme for purchase order -> assign scheme
to purchase order'. Then it will be '3' also in the PO when displayed
and NOT be processed immediately afterwards, but only when triggered
    via ME9F.

  • SEARCH IN GOOGLE option stopped working

I reinstalled the OS (Tiger 10.4.8) on my brand new Mac Pro and now the "Search in Google" option, that you get when you ctrl-click (or right click) on any piece of text in most programs, doesn't work. The option is still there, but it doesn't open Safari and do a search like it did before.
The only thing I changed in this install was disabled all printer drivers and multi-language support. I can't imagine that's why it stopped working but I figured I'd mention it anyway. I really miss this option- anyone know how I can get it back!?

For what it's worth, I never figured this out but the option to search in Google eventually came back on its own. I don't know when or how, but I suspect it was probably magic.

  • DHCP scope options: How TO

    Hi,
I have a 10.4 server as DHCP for several VLANs. I need to setup DHCP scope options on two VLANs to be able to direct DHCP requests from a specific device (IP phones) to the relevant VLAN for obtianing IP addresses.
I cannot see bootpd.plist in /etc and not much information available online about this.
Found these two relevant posts but not much of help:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7200952
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5054131
I can export the serveradmin settings out and can see the entries but where and how do I make the scope entries? plist editor won't open the file and if i convert to csv in excel the existing data is there and logical but where do i enter my scope options?
any help in the right direction will be much appreciated.
    cheers

You didn't try hard enough... ;). You need to use the Get-DhcpServerv4OptionValue cmdlet (or ...v6...).
    Get-DhcpServerv4OptionValue -ComputerName <computername> | Where-Object OptionID -eq 6 | Select-Object Value
Edit: I think it's important that you know how I solved this problem. Perhaps you can put it to use yourself some time. The first thing I did was return all the 'get' DHCP cmdlets using this command: Get-Command -Module dhcp* -Name get-*. I quick scanned
the cmdlets (actually, they're functions) and found the word 'option.' I jumped over to the DHCP MMC snap-in and quickly figured out why that sounded familiar. In the GUI, you right-click Server Options to get to this setting. I then ran the function in my
example without piping it to the Where-Object cmdlet, and it return a value property. I then added the | Where-Object to filter down what was returned.
In writing this edit, I determined there's actually an -OptionID parameter, which means I could have better written my example. Here's that now:
    Get-DhcpServerv4OptionValue -ComputerName <computername> -OptionID 6 | Select-Object Value
Always filter as close to the left as possible. That's means we don't want to pipe to something when we can filter with a built-in parameter.

  • How can configure scope options in dhcp server

    Good Night Partners.
I need configure scope options in dhcp server on mac mini.
i dont know how to do.
its my first mac and i confuse.
    Can anybody help me please.

Are you referring to DHCP Option Codes? If so then this can be done with the DHCP server included with Mac OS X Server. However Apple do not provide a tool for doing this nor for encoding the values in the required format.
What you will need to do is edit the DHCP Server configuration file manually using a text editor. This configuration file is located at /etc/bootpd.plist before you do this I advise having a read of the Unix man page for bootpd (the DHCP server software Apple use).
You can use a utility I have written to generate the required information and then paste this in to /etc/bootpd.plist it can be downloaded from -

  • Setting Time Server Search Order in DSC Run-Time

    Hello,
can somebody help me with explanation how can I set the  Time Server Search Order in DSC 8.6 Run-Time System? I can set it in development environment, but how can I transfer this to the Run-Time machine?
I want to synchronise a system clock of the machine to another machine acting as the time server, running NI Time Syncronization service.
Is it better to use standard Windows XP sync routines instead of NI ?
    Thanks a lot,
    romp

    Hi David,
after trying NI approach ( I've got some tips from support, you should edit the Registry ) I found it just don't work well, so I have disable it completely and move to Microsoft mechanisms for clock synchronising. Looks like NI still didn't work this out as it should....it's a shame aince this is very fundamental stuff.
