Domain users and local users can't login to reporting service web environment

Hello,
We installed reporting services at one of our customers but aren't able to use domain users to login. We've tried to login with a domain user, a local user but both aren't working. We set the proper permissions for the users on the reports folders.
We can only login with the buildin/administrator account on the local url: http://servername/reports
How can we allow login with domain users on other report manager url's?

  • Difference between AD domain user and local user

Hello, I think the title is self explanatory. I am trying to figure out difference between AD domain user and local user. SAP Help wasnt very helpful.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
It's about where the user accounts are kept. Domain users are users that are entered into the domain users group on a domain controller. These domain users can be centrally managed at the server. Whereas the local users are the users created in the local system.
In BPC, you can select users from either of them or in combination as well. However, If you want to make change in the local user credentials, you need to login to the system in which the user has been created and make the changes there. On the other hand, changes to domain users can be made from any domain connected machine with the right software and the necessary rights. The changes only need to be made once.
    Hope this helps.

I'm seeing the above problem, how can i open "Users&Groups" if i can't login?

If the system is associated with an Apple ID, and you know that account password, the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

  • Can aim users and .mac users video/audio chat with each other?

today was a crazy day with ichat. two of my friends were able to video chat 1 on 1. my mac is qualified to handle 3-way or 4-way chats. when they invite me, the bubble pops up. i hit accept and the loading spindle keeps on spinning for minutes until it just denies me entrance. they get an error saying i never accepted, so as soon as they invite me, they don't get any other response back.
could it be that i am on the AIM network and both of them are on the .mac network?
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   1.8ghz, 1.5gig ram, 3rd party camcorder, latest iChat. router installed.

can aim users and .mac users video/audio chat with each other?
Yes. Apple does not have its own publicly available IM service; iChat uses the AIM network, and there are few functional differences between AIM and .Mac screen names. If they are using a client other than iChat, there may be interoperability issues with audio and video chats, or the other client may not support those types of chatting.

  • Deferent between oem user and admin user

    Hi,
    For the SL500 robot,
Does any body knows the deferent between oem user and admin user?
does one of them has privileges on the other?
    Yigal

    Dear all,
Thanks a lot for all of you.
I have already set local user and domain user in "Logon as a batch job" security policy on my PC. So I can do jobs well if I set logon user that is a any local user in my PC. I can't do a job if I set logon user that is a domain user. So I don't know what it wrong?
Should I add domain user in "Logon as a batch job" security policy on AD Server not in local PC's "Logon as a batch job" security policy?
I don't have privilege to change policy on AD Server. And I have to make sure it will work if add my domain user in "Logon as a batch job" security policy on AD Server. So should I add policy on AD Server or just add in local PC.
    Any idea?
    Thanks and regards.

  • Diff bet multi user and single user installation

    Hi,
what is the diff betweeen single user and multi user installation, please let me know advantages and disadvantages also .
    Regards

    Hi,
what is the diff betweeen single user and multi user installationSingle user installation is having one user who owns all the application/database tier files. When you do an installation, you run RapidWiz as this user.
Multi-user installation is having two different users (applmgr user who owns the application tier files, and oracle user who owns the database tier files). When you do the installation, you run RapidWiz as root user.
On Windows, you cannot have multi-user installation. So, the above is valid on Unix/Linux.
More details can be found in the Concept manual --> http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/applications.html
please let me know advantages and disadvantages also .I always prefer multi-user installation as you just source the application/env file in the user's profile (in the applmgr/oracle profile) and the file is sourced once you login as that user. For single user installation, you will have to be sure that you source the proper env file manually each time you want to switch between the application and the database (just imagine if you try to shutdown/startup the database after sourcing the application env file, or trying to use any database executable file like export/import/sqlplus ..etc, you will end up using the application tier executable files).

  • Cannot delegate Reporting Services Web access to domain user / group, User does not have required permissions

    Hi
    I have an SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 installation on a Server 2008 R2 + SQL 2008 R2.
I'm having trouble delegating Reporting Services Web Access to a standard domain user.
I have followed the instructions from these blogs:
    http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/creating-the-reporting-user-role-in-configmgr-2012/
    http://www.wolffhaven45.com/blog/sccm/assigning-users-to-configmgr-reportusers-group-in-sccm-2012/
No matter how I try, I cannot get the reports to show for a standard domain user. In the console no reports are showing and in the web access I get
"User domain\user does not have required permissions........"
The only thing that is consistenly working when I test is to put the AD Group on the Security Role "Full Administrator".
    Then everything will show up.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks everyone for helping me with tips. I have now solved the problem. It was the permissions from SCCM that did not replicate to the Reporting Server.
In srsrp.log I got these error messages:
Could not retrieve the reporting service name for instance 'MSSQLSERVER'
    Invalid class
Could not stop the reporting serviceAfter googling a litte I found these 2 sites with similiar problems:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d4a7f93a-506f-4e3f-b5fc-bd2b087277da/ssrs-permissions-do-not-add?forum=configmanagergeneral
    http://www.microtom.net/microsoft-system-center/software-distribution/sccm-2012-reporting-services-do-not-install
    So I ran the command for SQL 2008 R2: mofcomp.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof
and BAAM, everything started to work =)

  • Create users under Administration Server Create user and Refresh users options are disabled

We have installed and configured 11.1.2.2 successfully, Essbase in standalone mode.
When we try to create users under Administration Server Create user and Refresh users options are disabled. Please let me know how to create EAS users?
    Thanks,
    Satheesh.

    Please find below response.
1.You can create users from EAS console using maxl, if you have not externalized the users .
When we create using Maxl it will create for 'ESSBASE Servers' users but we want to create additional administrator users under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'. At the moment default 'Admin' users is created under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'.
    2.  you have installed your essbase in a stand -alone mode  , then the option of creating users will be enabled and you can give appropriate provision to applications.
Yes. But the create users is disable for Admin.
    3. Through which url are you accessing EAS console is it http://Servername:19000/workspace/index.jsp ?
    http://prod-server:10080/easconsole/console.html
    Please suggest.

  • Lync Serch brings up deleted users and unwanted users (presence unknown)

We are about to deploy lync 2013 out to 800+ users and I have been playing with this feature for about 2 weeks now. I want to clean everything up the best I can before our deployment date. We are using 365 to manage the users with L1 and L2 licenses.
I have around 20 actuve users online right now for testing and they are working great. I have setuop MIICLIENT filters to remove OUs and certain attibutes. However if you open Lync and start typing a name it looks as if its searching through the GAL and not
the users I have assigned Lync to. Another example,,, you can still see users that are disabled. Of course their statues says unknown. and you will only receive an error message when trying to send to that user. But I want to make sure in the search feature
these users and other users do not show up in a search. Doing a search in o365 there are NONE of these users in there. They have to be pulling from our outlook credentials. or OWA somehow.
Could someone shed a little light on this for me? How can I completlly remove these users from showing up in a search even tho they are not synced users.
Thank you so much for the help...
    Brian

    Hi,
    Agree with Edwin.
Also, if you search the user who have been disabled, it may the sync issue of Lync address book. Please run the following cmdlet on Lync Server Management Shell:
Update-CsUserDatabase cmdlet to force the user database to refresh its contents by re-reading all of the user information stored in Active Directory.
Update-CsAddressBook cmdlet to force an Address Book server to immediately sync with the user information stored in the user database.

  • S-user and C-user

    Hi,
What is the difference between S-user and C-user ?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    Service (S) User:
    -  Shared system access for a larger, anonymous group of users.  Assign only very restricted authorizations for this user type.
    -  It is possible to log on using SAP GUI. The user is therefore capable of interaction through SAP GUI.
    -  During a log on, the system does not check whether the password has expired or is initial.
    -  Only a user administrator can change the password.
    -  Multiple logons are permissible.
    -  Purpose: Anonymous system access (such as for public Web services). After an individual authentication, an anonymous session begun with a service user can be continued as a person-related session with a dialog user.
    Communications (C) User:
    -  Individual system access (personalized)
    -  It is not possible to log on using SAP GUI. The user is therefore incapable of interaction through SAP GUI.
    -  Although the system checks whether the password has expired or is initial, the implementation of the requirement to change the password, which exists in principle, depends on the logon method (interactive or non-interactive).
    - The user can change his or her password himself or herself.
    - Purpose: external RFC calls of individual human users.
