Domains .Mac Fetch
Okay, I have spent the whole day experimenting to figure out my problem asked in a previous question. I have not used CNAME yet for Godaddy but two of my sites work using forwarding and the iWeb addresses. I tried to add the third and it didn't work. So maybe you need CNAMe or? maybe you don't.
I still have the glitch in my iWeb program in that I can view my pages using View or Visit on Safari. I am now getting an error message. I probably have to save everything and re-publish with iWeb but I want some advice before I do that. Right now two of my Godady names are working perfectly.
Okay, I have three other sites that I cannot publish because iWeb only gives two domains. Is that right? How do I publish the other three if I want domain address that are easy to type in like getting a name from Godaddy?
One good thing about problems is it forces us to hunt for solutions and we learn new things!

Regarding the other three sites. You can publish multiple sites and each will have a different URL. It's basically http://web.mac.com/account name/site folder name/Index.html. For multiple sites only the site folder name will change in the URL.
I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

Using iWeb to create a site uploaded to another domain via Fetch or the lik
I'm sorry for the like subject line, but I don't know what to call what I'm looking for.
I create my website in iWeb, publish to a folder, put it up on my personal domain using Fetch. (www.cynfrank.com) My domain is hosted by a company called Vario.
My question is how do I add things like a feed from my LibraryThing account that features books from my library on my site? It gives me an HTML code, but I don't know where to put it in iWeb so it works. When I got this same type of code for a video I was posting in a blog entry, I simply dragged and dropped it on my iWeb page, published, put and it worked. It was like magic. Maybe I'll try it.
Also, how do I put iTunes playlists on my site? Drag and Drop as well?
CindyLooThanks for the quick reply. However, after I posted, I was playing around in iWed and stumbled onto the Widget and suddenly, like magic, it dawned on me what it does.
As for the iTunes playlist....just drag and drop. It's like magic! But then isn't that the standard us MacUser have come to expect from our computers?

Using a Pinnacle Optical Drive PMO 650 with Mac OS 10.5.2 possible?
I have lots of backup files stored on Optical Discs. Is there anyway to get my Pinncale Optical Drive PMO 650 to work with Mac OS 10.5.2? I looked on Pinnacle site, and they suggested FWB's 'Hard Disk Toolkit', ANUBIS by CharisMac, or going on apple suppport. Has anyone used these? Do they work with OS 10.5.2?

1) With 10.5, I would have to turn my radion off & on to get it to associate. Once I upgraded to 10.5.2, it worked great.
2) With 802.1X based authenticaiton, the setup is a bit counter intuitive. I had ot make sure that I was selecting user based credentials for non-domain Macs. I would then delete the entry in my wireless sites that the 802.1X would enter, and recreate it to set the proper encryption scheme.

I still use my .mac address as my Apple user ID. Why can't I continue to use it as my iCloud email address? Mail sent to my long-standing .mac address bounces back to the sender.
This is all I get in the bounced email:

Difficulties with Mac OS 10.9.2 and Microsoft Office 2011
I administer a high school writing center. We have the latest iMacs, Word 2011 (including the latest update), and we recently updated our OS from 10.8.4 to 10.9.1 to 10.9.2. On most of our 42 desktops—all set up the same way—the update(s) went fine. The students work from a student account. Word works fine from the Admin account. MS Office 2011 works great with 10.8.4 and 10.9.1—but not 10.9.2. Microsoft Error Reporting eventually kicks in and allows us to send the report to Microsoft, but we cannot launch any Office app.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Okay, I am just your basic Stay-at-home mom who manages a personal website and hobby website. The personal website is our family stuff the other one is NOT.
Both are in the key to the left on iWeb as separate websites and I have registered the each domain name at Dreamhost where I went and did the CNAME thing for each of my domain names.
however, .mac comes up with only one of them. it asks me if I want to delete this domain, so I tried that and then it added the other domain . .mac just won't let me add both domains?
HELP!!! what am I doing wrong?

Thanks to Roddy for advice re. inserting Google maps - I think users in UK are going to have a lot of trouble ! The required address format is so specific that most people will get it wrong. Mac have used an address format which just isn't used for normal purposes. You have to stumble upon the correct format by trial and error.
Right now I have a major problem regarding pointing iMac site at Personal domain. I have two sites within my iWeb 08 program, and I have taken the neccesary steps to point one of them ( http://web.mac.com/peterdewit1/toymaker ) to http://www.peterdewittoymaker.co.uk.
It will be transferred over the next day or so, but it indicates below the iWeb window that the other site built in iWeb ( http://www.peterdewitscafe.co.uk ) has also been pointed to the same peterdewittoymaker site. It is all very confusing.
I dont know how to disentangle this mess.
.Mac/iWeb seems to treat both of my iWeb sites as one site, divided into a toymaker bit and a cafe bit!!!

Using Personal Domain Name with iWeb08
As per instructions I have setup my domain and made the changes to the Cname records with my Domain Registry ( https://cp.domaincentral.com.au). Domain is noted at the bottom of iWeb as I would expect and also if I upload I get the notation that the page will be seen as the domain.
Page cannot be found on my domain. I can see with the generic .mac address fine.

MAC Authentication + Windows Server 2008 R2 Radius server

I have been trying to configure the MAC Authentication on Windows Server Network Policy Server but no success. Details on my configuration can be find below.
I have firstly enabled the Mac Authentication on 3com switch 4400 model.
enabling -> Mac-authentication
enabling authentication mode -> UsernameAsMacAddress
configuring a domain - mac-authentication domain abc.local.
I left the default Vlan (Vlan1)
While on my DC, I created a user

Lastly on the NPS Server, I configured the 802.1x Wired configuration, I configured the NAS (Radius Client) whici is the 3com Switch.
After completing the configurations, I turned on my computer with and logged on to the domain abc\00-00-00-00-00-00 with the password. But there was no success when the computer tried to connect to the network looking for DHCP services to obtain IP address.

MAC address authorization is performed when the user does not type in any user name or password, and refuses to use any valid authentication method. In this case, Network Policy Server (NPS) receives the Calling-Station-ID attribute, and no user name and
password. To support MAC address authorization, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) must have user accounts that contain MAC addresses as user names.

Cannot receive/send emails via Mail on Mac using 10.6.8, keeps asking for password, very frustrating. Any ideas please? Regards
One more time, iCloud mail accounts are .me, .mac and .icloud. New ones are only .icloud.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account that can be used with any mail client in existence. But You are talking about the ability to automatically setup an iCloud account in mail, which did not exist until 10.7.2.
You can use password or token authentification with iCloud mail (in Mail) it is your choice.
Set the account manually, set it as Imap, use imap.mail.me.com (no P number) for the incoming email and smtp.mail.me.com as the outgoing server.
The full settings (ports and security) are here. Use them and it will work, regardless of domain (mac, me and icloud addresses all use the same settings.

ICloud Calendar email invitations with my personal email domain

I want to send the invitations of the calendar of iCloud with my work email, with the domain of my company @espero.it (and not with mail @me.com, @mac.com or @gmail.com).
I try to set my apple account just with this email address, but the invitations now send with the domain @mac.com and not with the email of my account... If I set the email address with @gmail.com it works...
why? can't I send with my domain??now it works: the invitations of calendar are send with my personal domain.
But there's another big problem: the invitations that I send to another user that have an email with my same domain ([email protected] to [email protected]) don't arrive, but are blocked by the mailserver, for security...
If in iCloud Calendar I could add the authenticatin-data of my email account, iCloud can send the invitations with authentication, and so my mail-server doesn't block!! -
Establishing domain trust on Xserve runing server OS 10.5.8
Hi,
I am new when it comes to setting up an xserve and configuring it for a windows environment. The scenario is as follows:
Xserve operates fine in current domain (eg. currentdomain.com) and users on PCs can successfully access all shares on the newly configured xserve.
We are in the process of moving all clients to a new domain (eg. Newdomain.com) and the and clients that have been moved on to the new domain (mac users) see the xserve shares just fine but my PC users that are moved to the new domain can't.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless your question is specific to the Xserve you really have a better chance of getting your question answered in the OS X Server group that most nearly matches the area of your question.
In this case I'd look at filesharing: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1233 as the prime place or maybe Open Directory depending on whether you're using OD/AD binding and that kind of thing.

Mac Pro with updated OSX 10.8.2 freezes no matter what.
After installing OS X 10.8.2 my Mac Pro with 32 Gb Ram freezes within 30 minutes invariably. Tried disconnecting all of the peripherals, unloaded Parallels 8, did a clean reload, quit all applications, nothing seems to make a difference. Would appreciate any additional ideas.

Mail no longer functions properly since the recent update to 10.4.9
Mail will launch but I get the spinning beach ball of death while waiting for Mail to fetch mail......and it spins & spins & spins.......etc. To the point where I have to force Mail to quit.
I then have to go to my ISP domain to fetch my own mail.
Is anyone else having this problem and, if so, what can be done to fix it??

PS - I did 'repair permissions' prior to the update and after the update was installed too.The thread you found doesn’t really discuss the same problem, as in that case Mail was crashing (i.e. quitting unexpectedly), rather than becoming unresponsive. What I usually suggest to start troubleshooting cases like yours is the following -- the network settings in particular is something you may not have looked at, and note that I recommend to verify/repair the disk itself (i.e. the filesystem) rather than permissions.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:

Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
Finally, try launching Mail under the following conditions (you may need to force quit it first if it’s running) and post back with your observations:
1. Holding the Shift key down until the main window appears. This tells Mail to not select any mailboxes or load any messages upon start up.
2. With no Internet connection.
