DOMINOE GAME FOR 5TH GENERATION (OLD SCHOOL) IPOD

Hey-I'm in desperate need of a dominoe game on my old school 5th generation ipod--the big ol' clunky ones!!! i'm searching the iTunes store and accidentally bought a game, but then realized the requirement was for ipod touch or iphone. where are the games that are compatible with my ipod?!?!?! help appreciated! thanks!

Hello kpritch1985,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
You can access the Games section of the store by hovering your mouse over the *Apps Store* button at the top of the iTunes store. Then click the small arrow that appears on the right-hand size and choose "iPod Click Wheel Games."

  • Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked.

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked. I have tried on a windows and a mac and noticed no change. I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.
What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?
Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:

To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:

  • HT4623 My old school iPod touch won't update.  Does apple mess it's customers over by not allowing updates for older models of the touch?  My last update is Ios5.  My touch says its up to date.  So has my old school touch reached its pinnacle?

Correct. The 3G iPod does not have the hardware to support an iOS version higher than 5.1.1
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was releases, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • Update for 5th Generation ipod

Will Apple be releasing an update for 5th Generation ipod users to upgrade to the Operating System of the ipod Classic?

Yep, I can pretty much guarantee that Apple won't--even when Apple released the 5.5 Generation iPods they didn't give the original 5.0 generation iPods a search feature. And of course, neither the iPod touch nor iPhone have search for music either, which is rather odd...

  • 5th generation (late 2006) ipod problems

I have a 5th generation (late 2006) ipod, about a month ago it went into recovery mode. No matter what computer I put it in, usb, cords, everything... it WILL NOT restore. I'm assuming my music is already gone since I have tried so many times. Now what? Also, I have put it into disk mode and regular mode. Nothing works.

Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but help in troubleshooting.

  • Looking for a headphones solution for 5th generation iPod

So my headphone jack no longer works (technical problem). As a result I need headphones that plug in via the dock connector instead.
A little over a year ago I bought (what I think was) a remote/headphones combo device that solved my problem. The remote plugged into the iPod, and then the headphones plugged into the remote. Problem solved.
I have now lost this device, and whenever I ask the Apple Store for something similar they have no idea what I'm talking about.
Any help in either identifying the device I had before or coming up with a new solution would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I'm ready to pull out my hair at the moment. I refuse to replace a $300 dollar piece of equipment just because I'm having trouble finding something that used to be on the market.

SpringFaery, you didn't say what specifically is wrong with the headphone jack, so I don't know if this will help you or not. I have a 5th generation iPod 30GB that just started having problems with the headphone jack. One of the earbuds was losing sound intermittently. I checked the headphones on other devices and they're fine. The same problem happens when I try other headphones on the iPod, so I assume the problem is the headphone jack.
I found another thread about sound problems with 5th generation iPods in this forum that said that pressing on one corner of the iPod fixes that problem, so I tried doing that on my iPod and it works fine now. I used a 2-inch binder clip and put it on the right side of the iPod, in the upper corner under the headphone jack. I have a leather cover on the iPod, so the binder clip is over that. The sound is back to normal now so I'm happy with this "usermod" fix. If your problem is similar maybe this can help.

  • How can I sync a tv show without having to sync the whole library from a different computer?(For 5th generation ipod)

So I have a 5th generation nano, and I want to put a tv show on it from my friends computer. (I'm able to put songs on my ipod) But everytime I drag it to my library it says: it was not copied because you are not autorized on this computer.
so when i try to do it manually it says I can do it but i have to erase everything I have and sync whats on her computer to my ipod. How can I just get this **** tv show onto my ipod??? is there a way?

Is this a TV show you purchased with your own iTunes account or your friend iTunes store account?  If it was your own account, simply authorize your purchased content on your friend's computer.  To do this, head to the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Authorize This Computer.  Then enter in your iTunes store credentials and then try resyncing the TV Show to your iPod.

  • Using 5th generation 60 GB iPod from Windows to MAC

I just purchased an iMac with SnowLeopard and want to use my 5th generation 60GB iPod with it, which had previously been set up on Windows XP PC. Is there anything I should do before I hook it up to my new iMac?

    Hello fastfingers10,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Since the 5th generation iPod is associated with your old iTunes library on your Windows machine, you will be prompted by iTunes (on your new iMac) to either "Transfer Purchases", "Erase and Sync", or "Cancel." If you have your music already safely on your new computer, all you have to do is erase and sync it with your new library, or hit "Cancel" and restore it via iTunes.
There should be no need to format it, because a Mac can Read and Write to the Windows FAT32 format, but you can choose to do so via Disk Utility.
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes Video not compatible with 5th generation 60GB video iPod

I downloaded several videos from the iTunes store to my Mac G4 1.67 powerbook. When updating my iPod, I received a message that some of the videos, really only one, was not downloaded to the iPod because the format was not compatible with my new 5th generation iPod. It seems to play fine on my G4. How can there be a compatibility problem with at video purchased from iTunes and downloaded to a Mac and transferred to a 5th generation iPod ? Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks.

Thank you, lllaass.  Of course, an apple user remarks to this fact in their review. Are all courses going to have reviews attached? Why do I have to read reviews on courses to get this information?  Who is writing the review?  It's not an apple official. How reliable is information in reviews?  I've read reviews that have incorrect information. Why not put the fact that a course is incompatible with iPod right in the course description. It would save a lot of time and wasted bandwidth. Why was the book allowed to be downloaded onto an unsupported device?

  • REMOTE FOR 5TH GENERATION

I have a 5th generation 30GB which is wired to a set of Bose Companion 3 through an IPod dock. I have just purchased an Apple remote, I can use the volume controls and track forward / back just fine. BUT.... the when I press the 'Menu' button it does not work? I have tried to connect by holding Menu and fast forward but it does not register. Any ideas? or did the bloke at Comet rip me off??? Thanks

The Menu button on the remote does not work with the iPod - there is no capablility to navigate the menu - playback control only via the remote. Sorry.
    Cheers!

  • What does it mean when my ipod wont turn on for 5th generation

My iPod doesn't want to turn on. I will hold the power button but nothing happens. Earlier today before this was posted, my IPod was working fine. What does this mean?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Car Accessories for 5th Generation

Are any of the fire wire accessories for car playback, i.e. the Monster brand charger/FM transmitter usable with the USB 2 iPopds like the nano or video iPod? Or do you have to playback through the headphone jack?
    Thanks

Are any of the fire wire accessories for car playback, i.e. the Monster brand charger/FM transmitter usable with the USB 2 iPopds like the nano or video iPod?
Firewire can only be used to charge the iPod Nano and 5th Gen iPod. Nothing more.
Are you sure the Monster FM device is Firewire? Or does it simply have a dock connector and you are referring to that as Firewire? Firewire is typically only used to connect to a computer.

  • Good Soundsystem for 5th Generation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good sound system for the 5th gen ipod? I would love to keep it in the under 200 dollar range and capable of running on batteries, but will listen (no pun intended) to any ideas or feedback that you have.
    Thanks so much in advance.

There is one that I use and really like it is the Sonic Infusion, here is a link http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=6C6 074FB&nplm=TK707LL%2FA
, it does run on batteires. You get 16 hours out of a charge (that is what they state, but more like 20). The sound is very good for a portable unit. It is not a boom box like they claim, but the sound is very good. It has a storage for the ipod and is quite sturdy, almost bomb proof. It is 149 dollars U.S. It does have two drawbacks, easy to live with, but I should mention them. First although there is storage for the Ipod (does fit all models) but there is no storage for the power cord. with the bat life, not really needed, and also you can't use a case with the unit. You have to take it out of the case to fit it into the adapter. I have a shield zone invisible shield on mine now and it works great. I do not get scratches and can put it in any case after. It really is bomb proof and have used it in my work here in Mexico as a missionary and found that it has ample volume and that it affords great protection. Hope this helps. You can read the reviews and I think you would like this. These are protable and battery operated.
