Don't allow adobe to store last opened file

Hi all,
We have an portal that shows personal information on a PDF.
After we have closed the portal, the PDF can still be opened when you look at the last opened files in Adobe.
Adobe must not save such files in its memory, is this possible? The PDF must only be opened from the portal! and never in Adobe without the portal!
please help thanks in advance!

THat indicates a permissions issue on your preferences file and/ or your files are stored on some external or network device that doesn't use persistent file paths. Look into that.

Adobe Reader could not open "file"

Adobe Reader could not open "file" because it is either not a supported file or it has been damaged. All files and programs on the desktop are shown as Adobe Reader ikons. When I remove the Adobe Reader program, the desktop is ok but when I reinstall the Adobe Reader it makes a mess again on the desktop and in all programs. For your first question: are you sure that 'file' is a PDF file and that it is not damaged? And you may find this useful for your second question:

Any problems if you don't allow website to store flash data?

I have my flash player settings to "AlwaysAsk" regarding websites storing flash data on my PC.
So far I haven't noticed any issues and nothing seems to be storing.
Are there problems by not allowing websites to store data on my PC?

You may not be able to view certain content if it cannot be stored locally.

Allow help desk to manage open files on file server

I am looking to delegate the ability to manage open files to our help desk users. They are getting an increasing number of calls from users asking about files and who has them open, or to force close them..etc.
The help desk users are not admins on our file server, therefore do not have access to RDP to the file server. I was hoping they could do it from computer management RSAT tools on their local machine. I just don't know how to allow them to do
it.

Hello,
Since they are not able to RDP the FS then they should need to access files using shared folders.
For that, you will need to share the root folder where your files are. Please give Full Control permission on it. Here, to manage their permissions, you can grant them what you want using NTFS permissions.
Note that NTFS and Share permissions are combined and the user will be have the minimum of privileges when he access the folder as a share. For that, I recommended using FC permission on the shared folder to avoid additional management tasks.

Adobe reader won't open file

Bought a new computer last Jan. since then Adobe won't open files , tells me : either not a supported file
or file dammaged / eg. sent as an email , not correctly decoded. Can you help. ML

Please provide a detailed description of your problem. Platform? OS and Reader versions? Where are those files? How are you trying to open them? Could you open them before?

Adobe Reader DC not opening files - What do I do?

I recently, April 14th, updated my Adobe Reader to the latest DC version. But, as I am trying to open/download files I've received via e-mail or from online, DC comes up for about 1 second before disappearing/closing. I saved some documents to my computer and tried pulling them up that way, and it works this way. But, I don't want to save every file. I'd have to save the file, go to the Downloads folder, open to read, and delete if I don't want it or re-save if I do.
That can I do?
I have an HP Pavilion laptop, Windows 7.

pwillener, Thanks for trying to help, but, though I disabled protected mode as you mentioned, Reader DC is still not opening files I'm trying to download. It's just coming up for a few seconds and closing.

When trying to open .pdf files i get a gray screen with message"adobe reader can"t open file.If running please exit and try again 15:3"..any ideas

Hello, why do I get the message "Adobe can't open file: IMG.jpg." when trying to open an enclosed file?

It sounds like you are trying to open a .jpg. Reader only opens PDF files.
If that isn't the case, more information would be helpful.

Programs re-opening last opened files

Not sure how to phrase this into a question. But I noticed with Lion that whenver I open up a program, it likes to open up the last file I was working on. So for example, I open up WORD and like 4 documents pop up, most likely the ones I was working on last time before I quit the app.
This happens with a lot of my apps. Is there any way to turn this feature OFF? It's very annoying.

Yes, it's broken.
Many people have been reporting the same issue in many of the other threads here. I am experiencing it too.
Some users have suggested various attempts to work around it but none of the suggested solutions work.
It's something Apple will need to fix in a future release of Lion.

Adobe illustrator does not open files after install on windows

after installing ai on a second pc, the program opens, but when trying to open a file, i get an error message saying...."does not function anymore" (translated from german into english)
I am logged in in cc, closed ai on the mac so only one program is (should) be running.

Figured it out. on a MAC holding down cmd-option-shift + Q did the job after logging back in.
