It was over a year ago that Verizon and Motorola announced the new media server technology - there was a video , a booth, the whole kit and kaboodle- a year later we still have a dual tuner DVR and a zillion limitations every other vendor has already solved...time to move on from Verizon I am sure any other vendor will want my money...

"Unlike". iOS 7 doesnt display well on my 4S. iOS 6.1.3 should still be supported for older hardware. I think I shall me moving to Samsung Galaxy now. Was really hoping hte new iphone would get a bit larger.

Hi Guru,
FG material strategy: 82 (sales order creates production order).
After creating the sales order it goes in to credit block. Whenever we release sales order from credit block through VKM1, system has created production order. We confirmed this production order and delivered.
But after this sales person change the sales order value, because of which again sales order goes into the credit block and after releasing sales order from credit block system create new production order even if one production order already confirmed and delivered against the same sales order.
*Every time system create new production order after releasing sales order credit block.

So, to restate:
In MD04, you have Unrestricted Sales order Stock ('E' Stock) on hand.
In the same MRP segment, and against the same Storage Location as the stock, you have a Sales Order requirement that was recently blocked and unblocked.
During the unblocking event, the system produced a new production order.
This is not normal. If the above accurately depicts your situation, I would look for an altered Strategy 82, or a userexit. SAP ATP (the beginning event of the Strat 82 process) will normally first check for the availability of stock. Only if the stock is not available, then it will create the new production order.

Insert into hold lock and never release.

I put following insert in a SP:
Insert into mytab(name, access_date,username, ipaddress )
Select 'my name', getdate(), 'NA', ipaddr from master..sysprocesses where spid = @@spid
and then run pb app to call this SP. This cause a ex lock hold on table mytab and never release even auto commit =true in pb until I stop the app.
Not sure why. It is because of @@spid or master? how to release lock for this insert?

While you *can* issue a 'set chained' command you typically have to do this as the first command after closing our the previous transaction (see my example where I issue 'commit tran' before issuing 'set chained off').
I have no idea why you're trying to enable chained mode at the beginning of your proc ... ?????
As for wreaking havoc with the application ... this comes down to a basic understanding of transaction management. Consider the following example:
1 - application: set chained on, insert/update/delete, call your proc ...
2 - your proc: commit tran, set chained off, insert/update/delete, set chained on ...
3 - application: insert/update/delete ...
4 - application: hits an error and issues a rollback, expecting to rollback this entire example (ie, back to line 1), but ...
Your proc broke the transaction so ... lines 1/2 have been permanently committed while lines 3/4 have been rolled back ... *probably* not a good thing, eh?!?!?!
Another example:
1 - application: set chained on, insert/update/delete, call your proc ...
2 - your proc: commit tran, set chained off, insert/update/delete, exit without re-enabling chained mode
3 - application: continues processing with assumption it's still running in chained transaction mode, not realizing that it's actually operating with no transactional wrappers/controls ... again, *probably* not a good thing, eh?!?!?!
If you're doing all the coding (client side, middleware, backend/stored procs) and you have an intimate knowledge of how your transactions are being managed ... then you can do anything you want.
Unfortunately, in the real world it typically doesn't work this way. You have multiple folks writing/maintaining different pieces of the code line (either now or down the road after you've left), so everyone has to know how everyone else is managing their transactions ... chained vs not-chained, nested transactions, DDL (not) in transactions, etc.
My kludgy example (previous post), assuming you pay attention to the details, will probably address *your* current issue but will likely screw up the transactional model being used by the calling process.
While this may seem like a minor issue to you (as the stored proc developer) I can tell you that this is a major, recurring issue I've seen over the years at too many clients. I've seen production support groups that have folks assigned (full time) specifically to tracking down and fixing the 'bad' data issues that arise from these types of broken transactions.
As for your current issue you need to spend some time understanding the transactional model being used by the calling process, then either:
a) code your proc to fit within (and without breaking) said transactional model; you likely do *NOT* want your stored proc making any changes to the transactional model used by the calling process (eg, do not rollback/commit to @@trancount=0; do not change the value of @@tranchained)
or
b) work with the person(s) maintaining the calling process to see if you can come up with a transactional model that will support everyone's needs

How to create production and development enironment in same server

We are using OWB10.2.0.1 version and we have only one database which has two schema.we are using default control center to run the mappings.
We don't have separate servers for development and production.So we use same control center for running the mapping for production and development, cause of this we are getting some problem while changing the existing mapping.
So we are planing to separate these environment like production and development with in one server and both environment should have the same database and we need to lock the some mapping to development environment which is in live.
Please suggest me how can i follow because i don't have EXP in these area.Hope you understand the situation.

I am not sure if we can lock the mapping according tot he env. you log into. I can provide an alternate solution by using different project names and store the mapping into them or using different mapping names to indicate them as prod or dev maps.
From a developer perspective i would suggest u have different environments for dev and prod and as a manager i would like to inform that u have have many audit issues if this goes on.

They are not exactly free on the new devices either. iMovie and iPhoto are included, when you buy a new device. You're purchase price for your older devices did not include the apps, so you have to buy them, sorry.

Why does Firefox keep grabbing more memory and never releasing it until you have to restart it?

Firefox starts out taking up a relatively small amount of memory, but with use it takes more memory (1,000K) which is never released even when tabs are closed. I run Firefox on a Pentium HT system, 4GB RAM, Win XP Prof and on a Core i3 system, 4GB RAM, Win 7 Home Premium (64 bit) and see the same behavior on both systems. Is anyone working on a fix for this? I did not include the troubleshooting info because it made the question too long to post.

The problem is not in restarting, the problem is that Firefox (8.0.1 in my case) starts out grabbing about 300,000 K according to the task manager and keeps on gobbling up memory until it gets up over 1,000,000 K at which point it usually crashes. The point at which it crashes is usually between 1,000,000 K and 1,500,000 K. It also grabs an enormous number of processor cycles from time to time; enough processor cycles and memory that Norton 360 posts an alert.
