You have two reason that itunes don't find the files.
1) if the share is forward networking, the lost of share can be a good reason
Itunes changed preference to the default localisation of your files in preference
2) share the same files by two different libary of two computer or user differents
I think that Itunes made a lock in the syntaxe

I have a local network. I have decided to share my music from a share server samba on Linux to my laptop on XP , my macbook , and my Imac.
I have made this solution because have many problems to share the music on my Imac between users.
The libary sharing music is not synchronise during the time. I explain : If i import a cd to Itunes on My imac, my wife don't have the music. ( security problems I thinck). ITunes is on Public and the acess is granted for users.
I was admin Unix system
I don' t wanted to copy the files on the Itmusic on each users.
The other solution is the linux server samba sharing a directory Itunes_share. I have made a directory Itunes Music and put all the files mp3 and podcast.
the share is good by selinux and the group is Itunes
After that Itunes has recreated the share database. The system is right.
But tomorrow, I has lost the songs on the interface. When I click on the song , I have a !
The problem is the same on Windows XP
After the migration for Iphone 2.0, song with ! apparears.
Just yesterday, i have access Itunes with the user, and i can hear song with ! . The files have on disk but ITunes don't find after closing the aplication.
Also , I has note that the lenght of the string is cast . And you have 2 files for the same files.
Just the name is different. ie : the lenght is 14 caracters the other is 16 caracteres

Spotlight don't find some contant
Hello. I'm italian and sorry for my bad english.
I've a problem with Spotlight Search (iPhone 4S iOS 7.1.2): some contant doesn't find in spotligh search, but the contant is regulary saved in the phone.
An exaple:
I search in spotlight a contact named Francesco N*******i, the result is "Nessun risultato" (no result)
But If I scroll manually the name in contact list I find the named and If I view the contact I see the correct phone number and other information.
The problem is only for some contact and is present also with old release of iOS.
In my contact list, I've mor than 1000 contact and is impossible search manually with scroll the list.

Selected Image Units and Filters slows down or closes Montion
Is would appreciate if somebody could guide me regarding this problem. Somtimes when I apply some Image Units or Filters to my project the program slows down or crashes . I have been reading in some of the posted questions here that is PC card ATI RAdeon HD 3870 would help to improve the rendering times
If I change the factory's PC Card Nvidia Geforce 7300 by this Radeon would this will really improve this problem ?.
Is there a recommeded site where I can get /buy third party emitters/replicators?.

I am really new to MAC but I had to admit that I am a little bit dissapointed with the results of my Mac Pro. I took a course in a Mac school to learn a little bit about the use of FInal Cut Studio and the hardware used for the training seems to have exactly the same peformance that my Mac Pro ( at least in speed) that is promoted as more efficent or profesional equipment without taking into consideration price differences vs. the rest of the available macs computers . But coming back to your question: Filters used are for example "light rays" or "glow" or when I apply some image units as "comic effect" for example takes time to my hardware to apply the effect . If I am lucky and the effect is applied if I try to modify the effect just after couple of changes the program crashes. I have intalled 3 times the program so I am not sure if this problem is related with corrupted program. Other filters sees to work very good and the rest of the particles and emitters are fine when are used in my projects.

Some images don't transfer from RH8 to the Word output
Why is it that some images don't transfer from the RH8 file to my Word output when I generate?
They do transfer to the Flash Help, but not to Word.
Some of them are small images - just shots of icons or tools - and others are quite a bit larger.
It takes me at least another hour to format the Word document after the output.Hi Patti,
I have had similar problems of images "softly and suddenly vanishing away" during export from RoboHelp to Word. I never really solved the problem, but I did find some useful tips.
First you shouldn't embed your images; in the Printed Documentation Wizard you should select "Link to sub-directory"
This has the advantage that lost images are now replaced by a small red cross -- easier to find when reviewing.
Next, in Word, try Edit>Links. If you are lucky you will see something like this:
Notice that some links have a Source File of ../Images; they are the ones I was missing. For some reason the path to the image file is moved up one level.
I never found out why, but the workaround was simple: copy the entire Images directory and paste it one level higher in the directory hierarchy. A waste of disk space, to be sure, but it worked. The grabs above show Word2003 and RH8.

I have a 2009 MB Pro. I have been trying to do some cleaning of files and discovered that in Finder, All Images, I am experiencing a frustrating problem. I spent a few hours trashing over 4K images and within a few hours, I had as many more. I did a couple of thousand trashed images and half hour later, more arrived. There are a lot of images that seem off the internet, including gif.s, png.s. Help!
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Some images don't appear in iPhone, but do on desktop.
Can someone download this PDF and let me know why the jpg images appear fine when viewing with desktop browser, but some images in the same document don't appear when viewing in Safari on the iPhone? Vector artwork and text show fine. Shows white space where JPGs should be.

When using display on an iOS device JPEG 2000 is not supported. There are two flavors of JPEG: JPEG & JPEG 2000.

If I go to page 1 and 4 in your PDF and use Output Preview in Acrobat Pro (in Acro 9 > Advanced Print Production > Output Preview). Click on the Object Inspector tab and click on the image. It uses a JPEG 2000 filter.
Since I don't know how the image was created and saved, I'll leave it to you to resave it as normal JPEG. -
Why are some jpg images scrambled when they appear in my screen saver? The same images look fine in Preview and Finder. Some images appear scrambled in the screen saver 'preview' window and the actual screen saver. Other jpg images look fine.
The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Hey @piyali, I wanted to inform you that your phone doesn't have a software to transfer that information. But for you to know when you transfer the messages to the computer it will just appear a regular notepad document, so basically, you could just copy the information from the text message into a notepad in your computer and you can keep those important memories for yourself.

I see this problem has been posted before , but no advice has been added , please help if possible .
My iPad recently started to act up. I was using Google to find some information on birthday cakes and recipes. I selected 'images' but instead of the little thumbnails I got computer code. Lines and lines of the stuff. This only happened yesterday. The iPad was working perfectly up to then. I am having no other problems. Google images work fine on my iPhone and my Mac Book. I would be very grateful if somebody could help.The problem is absolutely not Reader. The problem is that FireFox has stepped in front of Reader and handles all the PDF stuff - wrongly in your case. FireFox is DESIGNED to take over PDF files. But it is not capable of doing IRS forms!
To start with go back to IE for these forms. When you save them to disk DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THEM until this is fixed. Just open the in the normal way - start Adobe Reader and use Open from the File menu. -
Can't find some albums when trying to insert photos into other programs
I am having trouble finding albums (and thus pictures) when trying to insert photos into a Word document or upload to mySpace/ facebook etc.
After choosing 'insert<picture<from file<pictures<iPhoto Library' , I have the option of looking into the year-month-date or by album. Since I have a better memory of the 50+ albums I have created rather than their dates, I choose "Albums". This list only contains about half of my albums (with folder icons) and it appears outdated...ie one of the albums no longer exists in iPhoto and has been changed to a folders with several albums in it.
I'm wondering why this is happening or how i can update the album list. I realize i could use the year-month-day thing but that is too frustrating.

iPhoto 5 now stores the Album information in a data xml file. The Albums folder within the iPhoto Library folder is no longer used. At some point, usually after a rebuild, you will no longer have that folder in the Finder.
If you need to access photos from an album it is very difficult for a third party application to navigate the iPhoto Library in order to find the photo you need. You will have to know the date of import in order to find the photo.
There are some third party applications that can read the xml file and can navigate the iPhoto library and show you the Albums. Hopefully more applications will be revised to read this file.
Until then you will have to Share/Export the photos to the desktop. You can then navigate to the desktop to use the photos (example: web uploading from online photo site)
If your application supports drag and drop, you can drag the photo from an open iPhoto Library window into your application.
For email you can also use the email icon within iPhoto to open a message with the highlighted photo attached.
You can also use spotlight to find images in an Album...
This is what I have done using Spotlight to find my images that are in iPhoto albums without opening iPhoto..
In iPhoto, select the album, then select all, go to Photos/batch change.
Change the comments to text. In the text field I put the name of the Album.
Do this for each album.
Close iPhoto.
Open Spotlight and put in the name of the Album ( you have to remember the names of the albums or have then written down)
In the spotlight search results. click on "show all"
Under "Images" click on the "xx more" to show all the images in the album.
Make sure you have it in icon view, the icon view box is the last one on the blue images line.
Now you can control click on the image to "reveal in finder", open in iPhoto or Mail, etc.
I am not sure if this is going to make you happy and it is a little more work, but you can find images in albums and even view them in a slideshow (by clicking the play arrow at the end of the Images highlighted blue line) using Spotlight, all without opening iPhoto.
One important thing to know is you can set up a graphic program to be an external editor (when you double click an image in the library} such as PhotoShop or PS Elements. You set up that within iPhoto Preferences. Just make sure you save the image flattened and with the same name. The edits will then be relected in iPhoto when you hit "save".

Why are there 2-sets of IMAGE UNITS in Motion 5?
I seem to have 2-sets of Image Units in my Motion 5 library:
The first set has an icon exactly like the Filters icon; the second set has an icon exactly like the Generators icon.
I have read elsewhere online that it appears not everyone has the first set of Image Units, that perhaps it has something to do with running OS 10.7 Lion, but this has not been confirmed. I am currently running Lion, and I do have these Image Units, but they do not seem to do anything when I put them in the Timeline.
Some examples of these Image Units are: 1) Glass Distortion, 2) Glass Lozenge, 3) Copy Machine (transition)... there are 123 of these in the Image Units folder, and it looks like they might do some really cool things if I could get them to work. If I cannot get them to work then I'd like to remove them from the Motion library, if only I could figure out how to do that as well.
If I right-click on the Motion application icon and choose "Show Package Contents" these Image Units do not appear anywhere, and a Spotlight search for "Image Units" does not reveal anything significant either.
Please help me figure out 1) What is this second set of Image Units?
2) If not everyone has them, how did I get mine?
3) How do I get them to work?
4) If they do not work, how do I remove them?
Thanks so much!1) the 2nd set of Image Units are actually Generators, which means, when applied to the canvas, you will get a Generator Pane in the inspector. You cannot add a generator Image Unit to another object and affect it's appearance as you can with a Filter Image Unit.
You can Apply Filter Image Units to Generator Image Units... LOL but not vice versa.
***STAY AWAY FROM RANDOM GENERATOR*** it does NOT belong to Motion -- it belongs to Core Image and is accessible in Quartz Composer (there are others too, in the filter image units... they will appear to do "nothing" [all of the Area XXXX filters are such]) Clicking on Random Generator has been known (and does for me as well) to crash Motion. If you want or need a random number, use the Numbers generator and click the Random checkbox. For everything else, use the wriggle behavior.
2) Everybody is supposed to have them. If they don't, something screwed up in the installation.
3) Filter Image Units will have parameters under the Filter Tab of the selected object under the heading of the Filter Name or the name you give it in the Layers palette. [Generator Image Units answered in #1]
4) You can't, and you don't want to: they belong to the System (Core Image); but for the ones that do nothing or can crash Motion, you will just have to learn to avoid them. -

I created a document in Pages v5.2 last week and have just opened it and received the following message:
'Some images are missing because they were deleted from the document'
When I try and replace the missing images I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted.'
When I try and reimport the original image I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted. This image is of an unsupported type.'
If I try and insert an image that was not in the document before, in the same file format, it goes in fine.
If I insert the original image into a blank Pages document it goes in no problem.
I would also like to point out that the data folder still contains lots of versions of images in the document, but does not seem to have any of the ones I am actually using, which I guess is where the problem is. However I have no idea how or why these specific images have been deleted.
Any light on how this problem has come about, and the best possible way to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
AlexI have Pages v5.2.2 on OS X 10.9.4. I can not reproduce your stated issues with images in this version of Pages. I don't have a solution for you. See my test in the third paragraph. If I were experiencing this behavior, I would perform a Safe Boot to clear out System caches, and try again, before kicking Pages v5+ to the curb.
The Safe Boot would be pressing and holding the shift key at boot chime, and until a horizontal progress bar shows on the screen. At the eventual login screen, after you type your password — press and hold the shift key — press the right arrow to login, and release the shift key after the Finder menu bar appears. Then reboot normally.
I have created a new document. Dragged and dropped an image into it and saved. Exited Pages. Reopening worked fine. Deleted the image, and proceeded through the following steps, punctuated by save, exit, reopen, and deliberate image removal. Different .jpg image each time. About mid-way through the following item list, I rebooted the MBA just to throw some "spin" into the process. I did not perform a Safe Boot prior to this series of tests.
