Don't have enough access privileges
I am trying to back to and sync my phone
And it's saying I don't have enough access privlagea
What do I do?
Hey Stasulla,
Check out the following article, it goes over a resolution for getting the "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" error message:
Trouble adding music to iTunes library or importing audio CD
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1387
Even though the article is about adding music or importing a CD, the resolution might also work for the issue you're experiencing syncing your iPhone.
All the best,
David

I cannot sync my iphone. computer says I don't have enough access privileges.
I cannot sync my iphone. My computer gives me a message that says, "I don't have enough access privileges". After an internet search, one site said that I need to delete my photo cache. How do I resolve this, and is it wise to sync?
Hey Tipa1,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are having an issue with iTunes due to permissions. The following article is related to the symptoms you described:

when I go into my Itunes now it tells me that " You don't have enough access privileges for this eperation" which is causing me other issues with buying my music too. " Could't download purchase........" something like media file and stuff. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. This is my mom's old macbook pro and have never had a problem before. Just down loaded the new updated Itunes today but that didn't help anything. Please help. Thank you
Hey veo1,
I found the following information about that error message:
These messages occur if permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or on a folder inside your designated music folder. Permissions are settings that determine who can read, write to, or execute a file or folder on your computer. Every file and folder on your hard disk has an associated set of permissions.
Look here for help in correcting the permissions on folders:

After Mountain Lion I get: don't have enough access privileges to sync iPad
Hi. After installing Mountain Lion, I'm getting the message:"you don't have enough access privileges to sync iPad" (both iPad and iPhone). I've chequed the permissions on the Music folder and made sure there read & write access all over and inside it. My conputer (MacPro late 2011) is authorized in the iTunes store and actually if make any purchase on either my iPad or iPhone, it gets downloaded. And everything was fine before moving to Mountain Lion (Lion version before). It is shocking, I really hope somebody could Hel me. Thank you
Some more detailed information: The backup is made on either iPad and iPhone. But nothing gets transfered between computer and device. Could it be related to plist inside devices?

ITunes telling me I don't have enough access privileges
My iPOD won't sync with my itunes library because it's saying I do not have enough access privileges for this operations.
I have admin privileges running XP and using iTunes 10.1.2.
Any help would be appreciated...I'm not sure what it means. I was just sitting here playing around on the internet, and I had iTunes running in the background and listening to music. So every now and then I go to iTunes to see what is playing or coming up next, and there is an alert there telling me that I don't have enough access privileges to save the music library. I didn't even try to save anything at all. I didn't do anything to it.

Error 5000 - it states that I don't have enough access privileges
I'm trying to download new songs that I purchased from the iTunes store, but I'm getting an error 5000 that states that I don't have enough access privileges. First time I get this error, I cannot download any music, anyone has any idea how to fix this. Is it a bug with the new iTunes version? By the way, my ITunes folder and all folder inside have Read & Write access.
Your signature line saus iMac - you might have more luck asking about Mac permissions in the Mac forums. This is Podcasting & Radio in iTunes Windows.

Roda, I emailed Apple through iTunes and received an answer within a few hours:
"The issue you have reported may be caused by your iTunes folder or a folder inside of it having incorrect permissions.
For details on how to fix this issue, please refer to the "Advanced: Use Terminal" section of the following Knowledge Base article:
Errors appear when you download songs from the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1475"
I followed the advice under "Advanced Terminal Section" It did not resolve the problem. I tried to follow the create new music folder solution but I did not have enough available space! I then restarted my computer twice. The first time didn't help and the second time iTunes started downloading when I opened iTunes... so, not sure if my computer also needed a boot up it's PCU after doing the Terminal, but it helped. Home sharing importing failure: "you don't have enough access privileges"
I have 3 Macs (iMac, MBP, and MB) all running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2 over the same Airport Extreme (n) WiFi network at home. The iMac contains our family's "master" iTunes library. In the past i have been able to import music from the iMac to both the MBP and MB using Home Sharing. On both the MBP and MB i can see the Shared Library on the iMac and can play/stream music from the iMac shared library on both the MBP and MB.
Today, I tried to import new music (both purchased and ripped from CD) from the iMac shared library to the MBP and MB using iTunes' Home Sharing. No problem on the MBP. On the MB, i continually receive an error message saying:
*"There was a problem downloading [song title]. You don't have enough access privileges for this operation. Please check the connection to the network is active and try again"*
I receive this message whether i try to download 1 song or 100.
The network connection appears to be working fine as i can stream music from the iMac to the MB. I have gone through all the System Preferences for Network, Sharing and Security and they are identical on both the MBP and MB. I have also gone through all the iTunes Preferences and they are the same. I have ensured Home Sharing is on all the computers and that they are using the same .mac account. I have restarted all computers multiple times. I have repaired disc permissions on the MB. Nothing makes a difference. I still receive the above error message.
Help! Any one else have this problem? Any clues or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Franktry this on the MB:
(a) turn home sharing off
(b) deauthorize, then reauthorize it. if content was purchased using more than one iTunes store account, be sure to authorize iTunes to use/play content purchased with all accounts
(c) turn home sharing back on
also on the MB, check if you have read & write permissions for the music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access.
the important part is to *apply to enclosed items* !

contacts ,calander and notes get syncronised but apps do not . at 4 stage above message comeIf you still want to sync your photos try this instead:
1. Go to the Pictures folder in the Finder window (Pictures usually appears under Favorites in the sidebar of the Finder window)
2. **Locate the iPhoto Library file and Right click on the file and select Show Package Contents.
3. Locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete it.
4. Try the sync process again, it should work.
** Sometimes the iPod Photo Cache folder is simply in the Pictures folder and step 2 is not necessary -
