Don't know password for "Login" Keychain
Hi, Every time I use an application I am asked to type a "login" keychain access. (safari wants to use "login" keychain access password). I do not have that password and don't know how to get rid of that window popping up every time I use any application program. I have already tried typing my login password and it says wrong password. Do't hesitate to comment anything is helpful!!

You're almost there. Instead of deleting the old keychain, reset the current one.
Open Keychain Access, and choose Preferences from the *Keychain Access* menu, and click the *Reset Keychain* button. Enter your current login password and you're done.

I want to update iCloud account with new apple id but don't know password for old apple id. Plus can no longer receive email at old apple id. How can I delete the current iCloud account on my iPhone if the previously stated conditions exist?
If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Question...
I want Firefox to ask me if I want to save this password for login purposes. It did that with the first 3 sites i went to... but now it stopped asking!
I've gone to several DIFFERENT websites that require a login and in ALL instances since the first 3 it saved... I don't get the popup window asking if I want to save the password.
How do I get that feature back????
Thanks...
RickHi seraphim99,
You will get that [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/icons/fx4_quittabs.png Quit Firefox message] "Do you want to save your tabs for the next time it starts?" [Save and Quit] [Quit] [Cancel] if you follow what is currently step 31 in the link I had provided [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#tabslost Restoring tabs from a lost session] (#tabslost)
Which indicates as follows: (boldface is user set)
* <b>browser.showQuitWarning user set boolean true</b>
* browser.tabs.warnOnClose default boolean true
* browser.warnOnQuit default boolean true
* <b>browser.warnOnRestart user set boolean true</b>
Links were included there for assistance with '''about:config''' for those that don't know how to change configuration variables, along with additional reference for that and so that other similar questions of making Firefox 4 look/act like Firefox 3.6.17 would also be answered particularly the items in the first 10 steps in the same area. Which was addressed by the following part of my original reply
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic ["http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)].
I don't know if you looked at the web page or not, but I've highlighted some additional words there to try to make the webpage more clear to others in the future.
Hope that Helps -
I I have changed my email address so I changed my Apple ID and password. Just realised haven't changed icloud details and now can't access as don't know password or security questions. Want to delete and set up on new Apple ID. Help please???
In order to change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. My Mac is asking for "login"keychain what is this
My max is asking for "login" keychain and I can't get it off and it's not letting my access other things without this keychain. I've entered my login password and that doesn't work
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access. -
How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain
How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain, very annoying
There is a utility called Keychain Access. It is in your Applications/Utilities/ folder. Keychain Access has tools to do "first aid" and a reset on your keychain. Here are some Apple Support articles with instructions.

and if that does not help (reset)

my mac is not accepting my name and password for login because it is in arabic how am i suppose to login? how do i type Mark Yap in arabic, im typing it in pressing the actual letters on the keyboard but wint accept it?
I am assuming that you are trying to log in with the English language. If this is the case (or any other language for that matter), see if there is a button on the login screen that allows you to change your language.

Last week I was prompted to do an update on my Mac Book Pro which I did. Ever since I did the update a box keeps popping up asking for login info for my keychains & they won't go away. I have no clue what these keychains are & I don't know how to find them & know the passwords for each of them. Plus now I don't get my email on here either. Please help me...
Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App store and sign out of existing account and sign into the one you want.
Note:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
Macbook pro mid 2012 backing up from disk ulitiy asking for "login" keychain?
I bought a "WD My passport For Mac 1TB" portable external hard drive since I can't get into my macbook pro mid 2012 10.9 because when I turn it on its just grey screen with apple logo and spinning wheel. I went to future shop to the geek squad and they did diagnose of it that is wasn't the hard drive but the operating system with problem. Which makes sense since I did the apple hardware test, disk repair/verfy, permissions repair/verify and they all came back with saying my volume is ok etc.
SO my question is to back up my files etc. I do the command + r and go to disk ulitiy and click on "Macintosh HD" and then click "New Image" and then select "My Passport for Mac" to save on there. What I want to know should I put "compressed", "read/write", "read only" or "DVD/CD master" for Image Format? AND For encrytion, do i pick "128-bit AES encryption (recommended)" or "256-bit AES encryption (more secure, but slower)"?
Also I have one more option before I go to my genius appointment on saturday is to do the "erase and reinstall" option. Of course I need to back up my files to do that which is why I am asking the questions above. Can any one link me to the "erase and reinstall" option OR tell me your experience on how to do it OR how to do in overall? Also, is it an effective method? I already have the important files on my google drive, have my microsoft disk stuff on my USB, the only app I kind of don't want to lose is my "Notes" app. Also for the apps I downloaded in Apple store they should be still there even if I erase my hard drive?
So I did the command + r and go to disk ulitiy and click on "Macintosh HD" and then click "New Image" and then select "My Passport for Mac" to save on there. I put "read/write" for Image Format AND For encrytion, i pick "128-bit AES encryption (recommended)"
I put in a password when prompted but after that it says "Disk Ultitiy wants to use the "login" keychain." I put in my ususally login password that I use to get on to my desktop but that doesn't work. I have the option to press ok or cancel. Can I just press cancel and will it contiune on backing my files to my external hard drive?
I pressed cancel and the progress bar to saving my macintosh HD to MY external hard drive portable isn't shown any blue bar progress for 9 mins now...
do u know what to do?If you like you can also restore, via Disk Utility, the DMG onto another disk, but you will be able to read the contents, simply mounting the volume inside any version of OS X.
^ What do you mean by this?
Also, It says on here:Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: How to back up and restore your files - Apple Support
When the imaging process is complete, select the newly created disk image in the device pane. Then, choose Images > Scan Image for Restore... from the menu bar, and let the scan complete.
Quit Disk Utility (press Command-Q). Then press Command-Q to quit the Mac OS X installer; you will be prompted to restart.
Restoring the backup disk image's contents to your internal Mac OS X disk
What does Images > Scan Image for Restore mean?
Also If I erase hard drive and then reinstall mavericks OS X from "command + r mode" and after that hopefully I can get back in would I hook my external hard drive and then open the copy of the "macintosh".dmg and drag everything back on? or...? -
How to set password for X509Anchors keychain
I'm trying to add a certificate, but the X509Anchors keychain is demanding a password. I've never set one - it must be some standard thing; anyone know what it is? If not, I'm thinking I'd just change it to something I know. I hear that you have to be root or system to do it. Can someone tell me how to authenticate as root or system to change the password in the Keychain app, or how to do it in terminal?
Thanks
MikeWell, let's see... Over at Purdue University, they say to use your administrative account password to unlock the X509Anchors keychain. Try that first.
I tried it, and it didn't work for me. I tried it from an administrative account, and it still didn't work. Over on MacOSXHints, someone says that it shouldn't be necessary to add the certificate to the X509Anchors keychain in particular -- your login keychain should suffice (if you will only be using it from that account). If you don't need to make it work for all accounts on your Mac, try that.
Some people say that you can't "unlock" the X509Anchors keychain, but if you double-click on a certificate, you can still add it to the keychain by entering your (presumably administrative) password.
I haven't found an answer for "unlocking" the X509Anchors keychain in Keychain Access if your admin password doesn't work -- or how to recover from the situation. No clues on Apple's support site.
A search on the Discussion forums turns up this thread; seems there are a number of people with this problem.
