Don't know what to put in the "name" spot on login

I was attempting to change my login settings so when the computer boots up, it shows my name and all I have to do is enter my password to gain access. However, I accidentally selected the option that says: Display login as: Name and Password instead of the list of users option. Now, when I boot up my computer it asks for a "Name" and password. I have tried many different things in the "name" field but nothing seems to work. What is the default login user name? Thanks.

There is no 'default login user name'. The username is based on your own account name, therefore no one can tell you specifically what it might be.
If you didn't specifically set a username then you'll need to guess what your username might be. The standard would be firstnamelastname (e.g. John Smith's username might be johnsmith), but there's no guarantee this will work for you.

If you can open Safari go to the top of your screen, click Safari / Preferences then select the General stab. You can type in the web address for your Home page there.

Settings > FaceTime. Be sure you have an Apple ID on file, and you should also see a header that says "You can be reached for video calls at:" where you can add an email address. The email address that is entered here is the email address you should use to FaceTime the other person.

I'm trying to re-activate my software because of "repair" issues. I have had it for 6 years and when I logged in today, it suddenly said that I needed to re-activate within 5 days. It won't allow me to do it online due to an error so it said that I needed to call and activate, but then when I called it said to go online to adobe/go/activate, which I did and have entered my serial number, but it also wants a request code and I don't know what to put there. Please help???

The request code is something that PS generates when you ask it to do the Phone activation, right? Isn't there a choice on PS when you try to activate that is to not do it online and to use a phone call and there is also a button to press to generate a request code. I don't have any way to try this myself, anymore, but I seem to remember something like that happening long ago.

If you tried resetting the ipod and it still keeps having the same issue you described, try setting the ipod to disk mode.

If you can get the ipod into disk mode, connect it to the computer and rrestore the ipod using itunes.
if the ipod will not go into disk mode, you can return the ipod or set the ipod up for service via the apple ipod service depot.

If you enter the PIN incorrectly three times, you may need to enter a Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) to enable your SIM card again. Refer to the SIM card documentation or contact your carrier.
Note: Entering an incorrect PUK code too many times will result in the SIM becoming permanently locked. If this occurs, you will need to contact your carrier for a replacement SIM card.

HT4623 I don't know what's happened but the media sound isn't working unless I have headphones in. Games, voice notes, music, radio, touch tones and lock tones aren't working and it's also starting to not charge properly as we'll now. What do I do ?

I've tried resetting all settings and tried to alter the sound in settings. It plays ringtones and alarm works but no message alert tone or touch tone lock tone radio and when I try to turn the volume up by the buttons I just get the bell with no volume bar. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

It is likely that the device has unrepairable harm done to it having it washed in the washing machine. However, one thing that could be tried would be to have the device placed in a glad bag full of un-cooked rice and leave it there for 72 hours to see if this will absorb residual moisture showing up on the display glass. It could be assumed that if there is that much moisture showing it's unlikely attempting to draw out moisture will be sucessful.

You are saying that you DID backup your iPad so there should be no worries at all. After you restore the iOS, you can restore from the backup - and sync with iTunes, if you are using iTunes - and you should be fine. If you see the iTunes logo and the USB cable on the screen, you are in recovery mode.

If you didn't backup your iPad, there is nothing that you can do about it now. You will lose everything when you restore. You can add you purchased content back to the device using the purchased tabs in all of the iStores or you can sync your content back to the iPad if you use iTunes.

My MacBook is not communicating with my desk top to enable printing from my MacBook. I need to find out how to make that happen. I have a static IP address on my desktop but don't know what to do on the Mac Book.

My MacBook is not connecting to the host computer for the printer. The host computer has a static IP address which is different from the IP address that the laptop is looking for. How do I change the laptop so that it looks for the host computer's correct IP? The laptop is connected to the router. I know this because I can get on the internet with the laptop.

The host computer is Dell and the operating system is Windows 7. The printer is an Epson, and it is wired to the host computer with a USB cable. It does have host printing turned on.
The three have been working harmoniously for a long time. The router had to be reset; and after that, the MacBook documents would no longer print.
We created a new static IP address on the Dell but the MacBook is not recognizing it. We have researched the internet trying to figure out how to make the MacBook locate and recognize the correct IP address from the Dell so they can communicate with each other. The laptop is not communicating with the host computer because is is looking for the wrong IP. The host IP is 192.168.1.245 and the laptop is looking for 192.168.15.237.
I hope everything is clear. The person who originally set it up is no longer available to help me. Thank you for any help you may give me.
