Don't send responses to Calendar invites on iPhone

Quick question. I tried a search and didn't find anything.
On my old phone (Treo 750) I had the ability to accept, decline or tentatively accept invitations - but the big thing I loved was that I didn't need to send a response to the original sender. I was given the option to edit response, send response, or decline to send response.
Does anyone know if its possible to take action on a calendar invite, but not to send the response to the meeting owner?

1) I don't see a way to not send a reply when accepting/declining a calendar invite on the iPhone. Definitely an omission.
2) I also get calendar invites for entries I set up myself, as if I need to respond to them. Doesn't make sense, can't figure it out.
UPDATE - when I reply to someone else's invite on my PC, it pushes another invite to my calendar inbox. Why do I need to reply on the iPhone when I already have on my PC???

  • Is there a way to send mass Outlook calendar invites?

Our business is a subscription based business that has multiple service lines that hold a client only webinar each month. One of our service lines has found great success in terms of response and attendance sending out calendar invitations via Outlook.
However, these invites can only be sent out to 20-30 email addresses at once without being marked by spam filters.
    1. Is there a way to do this in outlook or a product that allows us to do this?
    2. Is there a way to do a "mail merge" of sorts for outlook invitations?
    3. I know we are able to do a mail merge and attach an .ics file, but correct me if I'm wrong, we aren't able to verify who added that to their calendar because the sending email address won't receive an accepted or declined response. It would be
nice to see who accepts as well because then we are able to cross reference our registration list and manually register those who may have just added the calendar request, but didn't go into the link to register for the conference--this also gives us collateral
    for sponsors.
Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Don't send replies to calendar events?

Anyone found a way to turn off the automated reply to events on the iPhone?
I sync to an Exchange environment at work. We have ~8000 employees. It is not uncommon to receive invites for "All Hands" type meetings. As a matter of courtesy, I make it a point to NOT reply with my acceptance choice for the meeting, as I'm sure the organizer doesn't wish to receive hundreds, if not thousands of replies.
This is one of the reasons why I still use VMware with Outlook instead of iCal, and now it appears to be one of the reasons that I will not be managing my calendar from my iPhone.
    Any hints?
    Thanks!

  • When I send out a calendar invite

My Apple ID is under my home email address, but I use my iPhone 4S for work, with a work email address.  When I send a calendar invite to someone in my office it comes to them under my home email and when they accept the invite, it sends the email to my home email address.  Can I change that, or do I have to set-up a new apple id usung my work email?

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem. My default account is my work account, but Calendar invites are being send from my icloud account.
    Setup: OSX 10.8.3, Calendar app

  • Business iCal sending out multiple calendar invites - one calendar and one account, 2 people using it for work

    First question:
My boss has a Macbook Pro (iPad & iPhone), I have a Dell and iPad.  We use his iCal for our work calendar and my Outlook is logged into his iCal so that I can load appointments & send them out to clients.  He obviously has access to the same calendar so that he can also load appointments.
We have realised that sometimes the meeting invite, although I only send ONE invite out, will send 6 invites to a person. Here below you will see the icons that appear next to the 6 invites that the person that receives it sees next to the invites. It is therefor 3 types of emails/invites that are each sent out twice to the client.  This is obviously not ideal. Could it be that I must not include my boss in the invites (as it is already his calendar sending out the invites), or what could it be that I am doing wrong?
    Second question:
How can I ensure that replies (Yes/No/Maybe/Comments) appear in the iCal meeting, as people reply, but those replies I have to copy and paste into the meeting as they do not currently automatically update in the meeting.
    Third question:
Any suggestions on a better system/method?
    Please help!

I think I know what can help. I also support Mac users in a mixed environment, and find that being able to access a Windows machine to test settings for my iCal users is very very helpful. If you do not have one, I could also fix this one by adding the user's account to my one Mac that runs Entourage.
On a PC: set up one of the problem accounts in Outlook, then go to Tools->Options & click on the Delegates tab. Click on a Delegate name (if they all have the same permission level, you can select all), then click the Permissions button. If the delegate have "Editor" permissions, there will be a little checked box that sends the delegate copies of all those meetings. De-select it.
Lemme know if you want Entourage instructions or if that does it for you.
The real question, of course, is why are there so many Exchange functions that iCal can't touch. Grrrr....

  • Why can't i send an icloud calendar invitation to an email with an apostrophe in it?

Please help! why can't I send an icloud invitation to an email with an apostrophe in it?

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, that's just the way that the built in mail app works. It really is a basic no frills mail app with not much to offer compared to other apps.
There are third party apps that let you create groups and email to those groups. I don't use either of these, but I've seen them recommended here in the past.

  • How can I respond to a calendar invitation without sending a response e-mail back to the sender?

My job requires many appointments, therefore my boss sends me multiple calendar invitations each day.  It is getting quite annoying for him when he receives a response e-mail every single time.  Is there a way to turn this feature off?

    Hello there, David.
The following link from the online iPhone User Guide provides some great information on how to adjust that notification setting:
    Share iCloud calendars
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph7613c4fb
    Particularly:
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

  • Can't send calendar invites with mobileme sync ?

    Hi,
I have an iPhone with OS 3.0, I'm using MobileMe to sync Calendars and Contacts with my Mac over the air and it's working well.
One of the new features for OS 3.0 for MS Exchange was to be the ability to send calendar invites from the phone - something not possible in 2.0.
However unless I'm mistaken it is still impossible to send calendar invites with MobileMe directly from the phone ?
If I then go into iCal on the Mac and add invitees to the event that was created on the Phone, iCal can send invites, and when I check back on the phone it now shows the invitees and whether they have accepted or not, but now the Edit button is gone for this calendar entry making further edits from the phone impossible, including even deleting the event.
    Huh ?
It seems crazy that the phone is able to display the invite status but can't edit it, especially if that feature is now available with Exchange. Or have I missed something ?
    Regards,
    Simon

    Hmm,
Well you can accept calendar invites on the iPhone since 2.0 if you're using Exchange, but 3.0 added the ability send calendar invites from the phone with Exchange.
If you can't send or receive calendar invites by MobileMe it kind of puts a lie to the "MobileMe is exchange for the masses" comment from the keynote speeches doesn't it Maybe in 3.1 we'll see it, and maybe in 3.1 we'll be able to Sync Notes by MobileMe as well cough.
    Regards,
    Simon

  • Calendar invites going to email not iCal

My family relies heavily on calendar invites, it's how we all sync our schedules and know what's going on when, who needs to be where, etc.  Several months ago when sending an invite to my daughter from my Outlook calendar she was no longer receiving the invites to accept.  I found a work around of sending the inviteto her iCloud.com address instead of her outlook.com address.  When sending an invite to her iCloud email the event would automatically pop up in her phone calendar inbox (she would get an audible alert and the red 1 circle would show up on her phone calendar), she could accept and the event would then be on her calendar.
Fast forward a few months, I got an invite from my husband to my gmail.com accnt as always and instead of allowing me to decline or accept via email on my phone like it always had, the invite shows up in my email as a mime-attachment.ics attachment.  In the past I could accept the invite, but it goes to my gmail calendar which I never use and not my iPhone calendar.  The event doesn't show up on my iPhone calendar, but I will get a reminder from gmail on my phone at the time the event is due (which is not helpful, I need the events on my phone calendar, not my gmail calendar.  I don't even know how to view my gmail calendar and I need to know of appointments before they're due).  I've always used my gmail account on my phone and it is also my apple ID.  There must have been an update somewhere along the way where things changed.  So, I created an iCloud.com accnt and when my husband sends the invite from his Outlook on his laptop to myiCloud.com address it's still going to my email and not my calendar on my phone.  Now, when I click on the attachment to accept it closes out my email and takes me to my home screen.  I know that my phone calendar is working.  If I add events via my laptop in Outlook they will sync to my phone.  And if my older kids send me a calendar invite from their iPhones, it will pop up in my iPhone calendar and I can accept and the event goes onto my phone calendar. I need to know how/where people who do not have an iPhone should send me invites so they show up in my iPhone calendar. I have an iPhone 5S with IOS 8.1.

Any help out there?  All I use is Apple, need Google calndar to go away...

  • Calendar Invite Attendee

    Hello!
I just replaced my Pearl with an 8900 Curve, but am having problems sending and receiving calendar invites as they are either not arriving at all or arrive just as text messages. This never used to happen on my Pearl a few days ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is not working?
    Thanks vm

No change to calendar invite status. Thinking I should just get a new handset to make sure.
Quite honestly, the calendar invite issue won't be a handset device hardware issue, it is a Service Book or email issue, something solvable with your own action in setting up the email to device.
First, getting your PIN of the current device may not be all you need to do.
Are you getting your emails to the device now? If so good.
So, go to Options > Advanced > Default Services, and select the email address the calendar profile will be connected to.
Also, Open your calendar and choose Menu > Options, and there also, select the calendar you will be using.
    And save.
Now try sending an invite again?

  • Calendar invites to Outllook users

Problem: When I send a Mac calendar invite to a Windows Outlook recipient, the interface is confusing and problematic.
Question: Is there any way to customise the main body or disable the iCloud content?
Description: In the main body, there is an "iCloud" invitation and some buttons to Accept, Decline, etc. Typically, if a Windows users clicks these, they are redirected to iCloud which is BLOCKED for security reasons (outside our control). [We can't force all Windows IT departments to change this.]
However, if you look VERY CAREFULLY, you can see an iCal-YEARMMDD-NNNN.ics attachment below the Subject line. If the Outlook user opens this, then they can accept the invite without access to iCloud.
Unfortunately, most Windows Outlook users are not aware of this, and the iCloud invite in the main body confuses them.
What can be done that does not require a change on the recipient's side?

  • To save the calendar invitation decision in system

    Hello experts,
I need to send a meeting (calendar) invitation through ABAP to Gmail.
Is it possible to save the response of the invitation that is whether it has been Accepted/Rejected back in the system?
Like in workflow User decision can be sent to Outlook of the approver.
But can an invitation's response be passed back to the system from where it was sent?
Or is there any other alternative for the same?
    Pls help
    Regards,
    Pranita

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need to add security constraints (in your web.xml) for every servlet/jsp you wish to access login info from. (e.g.: someservlet.getRemoteUser()).
Actually, it's interesting that you have asked this question, because I am facing the same dilemma in my project and I am planning to save username from a secured servlet/jsp into my session and then access that attribute value from other non-secured servlets/jsps.
This is for a forum/chat style page that I wish to have both accessible to non-registred (anonymous, but using a free handle/nickname) and registered users (using reserved handle/nickname) to prevent any user from portraying themselves as another registered user.

  • My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can i fix this without turning off iCloud?

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • Cannot receive calendar invites in iCal

Since upgrading to iOS 7, when my wife (who uses iCloud with an @outlook.com address) sends me a calendar invite, it comes to me (using an @icloud.com address) as an email rather than a notification to my iCal app, on any device. When I accept the event, it won't add to iCal either. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

I Used to able to accept events from outside the iCloud world and add them automatically to the calendar.
    NOw nothing.

  • Receiving calendar invites?

When someone sends me a calendar invite I get an email with the event attachment on it. Is there a way to make all invites appear in the iphone calendar inbox instead? As currently my calendar inbox is redundant, this currently means I get no notifications of invites, they just sit in my gmail inbox with all the other rubbish I get sent.
    Thanks

I am also having this issue. Even if I send to my @icloud.com apple id it goes to mail inbox as attachment not calendar inbox. Already enabled calendar and new invitation alerts...it did not repair the situation.
It would be great to not have to "click" three times to get a calendar invite on my calendar especially since Apple seemed to have gone through the trouble of building a calendar inbox feature.
    click to open mail app
    click to open email
    click to open ics attachment
    click to add to calendar
    click to confirm which calendar
presumeably calendar inbox would eliminate the 2nd and 3rd click.
