Don't sync down Apple Music tracks please!
I think I've found the cause of many of my "it doesn't play on iOS, but does on my Mac" problems. I'd played with Apple Music a week ago. In doing that, a few of my local tracks end up with Apple Music DRM versions (I still have my old non-DRMed tracks too). When Spotify syncs a "local" track, it can pick either the DRMed version, or the non-DRMed version. You'll only find out it pulled the wrong one when playback grinds to a halt on iOS. After removing the Apple Music tracks from the iTunes database, (they're listed under Apple Music), I was able to resync my playlist and the songs which previously wedged up started to play. Is there a place to file a bug with Spotify? Seems like it really shouldn't be sourcing "local" files that are Apple Music DRMed.
I still have not found a solution for this. The only way to make my custom playlists accesible via Apple TV is to make sure that one of my OSX devices (iMac, MacBook) is active on the same network. The OSX device must be turned on and iTunes must be open. The AppleTV will then see the device and you can make use of the playlists.
It's a bit of a hassle though. The playlists should be accessible directly from AppleTV without needing additional devices online.

Syncing footage with music track issue in Premiere Pro CC
My experience with Premiere Pro is still limited to basic editing. Recently I've been asked to help out a friend to edit a music video. I've done this before in Final Cot Pro X but decided to switch due to the integration of Adobe CC.
The issue I am facing is that all footage that has been shot is delivered to me at 23.976 fps but with the audio playing faster. The audio track after importing is being played back at 29.97 fps and plays at normal speed.
The solution I have found so far is to slow down each clip to 80% so it matches the original audio track. This is not ideal I found out while editing, so it would be better to have each clip rendered to its original state of 29.97 fps.
After some more research I discovered that it is possible to re-render each clip to its original speed in After Effects, and even apply frame blending. Then import all back in Premiere Pro.
My question is if the road I am following here is the correct one.
Thank you!by reducing the speed in the timeline, i think it does the same thing as forcing interpret footage. the difference is by changing it in the bin before starting, you can change all clips at once. just make sure to set the sequence fps to the final output fps, not matching the changed fps of clips. you can also right click the footage on the timeline and choose frame blend, but i think it ends up doing the same thing as the export option you are using. the difference on the timeline is you can see the frame blend while editing. AE is extremely slow and might not look any better, so where u are on deadline, forget about it. so in premiere i think frame blend on vs off is your only real option to change the behavior of the slow-mo.
the slow mo trick is nice for music videos, but yeah, for best results the camera needs to be sped up with the song on set. then in post both are slowed back down, replacing the song/audio with the original song at normal speed. 23.976 or 29.97 are both acceptable in NTSC usa land. 23.976 has gotten alot of attention as the "film look" since it has more motion blur, while 29.97 has a cleaner video look. below are some numbers i found somewhere and kept. so if the final render fps is known, can choose the correct shooting fps for on set with matching sped up or slowed down music. the italic values would be used to end up with sped up footage, while the Bold values would be used for slo-motion effect. i haven't used these but the numbers look right. he could have shot at 29.97(30) fps and slowed it down to 23.976 in post to get the 80% slow-mo.
For an NTSC/US, using a 24p timebase, for the following frame rates, adjust the song speed to:
12 fps: make song last 1.956x longer by stretching it to 51.1% speed
18 fps: make song last 1.333x longer by stretching it to 75.0% speed
20 fps: make song last 1.226x longer by stretching it to 81.6% speed
22 fps: make song last 1.067x longer by stretching it to 93.7% speed
26 fps: make song last 0.907x as long as normal; play it at 110.25% speed
30 fps: make song last 0.800x as long as normal; play it at 125% speed
32 fps: make song last 0.747x as long as normal; play it at 133.87% speed
36 fps: make song last 0.672x as long as normal; play it at 148.81% speed
48 fps: make song last 0.498x as long as normal; play it at 200.80% speed
60 fps: make song last 0.400x as long as normal; play it at 250.00% speed
For an NTSC/US, using a 30p timebase, for the following frame rates, adjust the song speed to:
12 fps: make song last 2.445x longer by stretching it to 40.91% speed
18 fps: make song last 1.667x longer by stretching it to 60.00% speed
20 fps: make song last 1.533x longer by stretching it to 65.23% speed
22 fps: make song last 1.333x longer by stretching it to 75.01% speed
24 fps: make song last 1.250x as long as normal; play it at 80.00% speed
26 fps: make song last 1.134x as long as normal; play it at 88.22% speed
32 fps: make song last 0.933x as long as normal; play it at 107.14% speed
36 fps: make song last 0.840x as long as normal; play it at 119.05% speed
48 fps: make song last 0.622x as long as normal; play it at 160.73% speed

Ratings don't sync between automatically downloaded tracks
Anyone else noticing this issue? I buy a song on my iPhone. It automatically downloads in iTunes too without having to sync. Awesome. I rate the song on my phone, but when I sync with my PC, that rating doesn't carry over to the version downloaded in iTunes. Also it seems like for tracks like this, iTunes is no longer the "master library", because if I delete the track in iTunes, it shows back up again after a sync with the phone. Before, that sync would have deleted the version on the phone. Is there a trick to this behavior that I'm missing?
yes, I am noticig the same thing. And to make it worse the rating won't carry over even when I sync the iphone via usb. this is a real bummer if the ratings are not going to sync up. i did test it the other way...rate it on my mac...and the rating did show up on the iphone after a sync.
I have done a little research and a couple of years ago the issue was if you had checked "manually manage" it wouldn't sync the ratings. That is not checked for me.

Playlists don't sync to Apple TV; Match enabled
I am a Match subscriber. Match is enabled on my iMac, iPhone, iPad, and my latest generation Apple TV. When I create, edit, update, and delete Playlists, that playlist information seems to stay sync'd on all devices EXCEPT the Apple TV. On the Apple TV, all cloud-based music is available but my playlists are not. Navigating to Playlists on the Apple TV presents only two playlists, "90's Music" and "Recently Added". I created neither of these Playlists although the contents are accurate. But where are my custom playlists ?

Sync Problem with Music tracks
Every-time I sync my iphone it uploads the same 61 tracks.
I have about 1000 tracks (60 Albums) on my iphone, but every-time I sync with my imac the same 61 tracks need to be 'Uploaded'. I have check the iphone after each sync and the tracks are there...
Any ideas?

I have now taken the 6 albums affected off the playlist...Synced...Added them again, one by one....synced again and all seems fine.
One problem however was that I had two albums called 'Greatest Hits', and in coverflow it would show one, but when turned around it showed the other.. -
Music track creator - need help finding
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this - please forgive me if it's the wrong forum.
Years ago in the PPC/OS 8 days I had an app that I think was caled Music Maestro that created custom music tracks for the web or videos. A non-musical person like me just had to specify a few parameters (mood [spooky, romantic, action, surprise], length, and a few others) and the app would create a nice track that could be inserted into a video.
It's been ages since I've done any video work and now I'm interested again and I can't find anything that matches these criteria. If anyone can suggest a current app that requires no musical talent whatsoever that will produce music tracks, please advise.

Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps youshouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I decided to change my apple id on my iphone 5 to have a seperate account from the other people in my family. I changed all of the settings to the new id and I can't sync new apps or music to my phone and apps on my phone will not sync to my computer. Please help!!!
If you didn't already do so, authorize your computer for the new ID by opening iTunes and going to Store>Authorize This Computer. Then sync your phone with iTunes.

i spend a long time to try to sync my itunes music on my ipod 160 GB Classic, but after waiting so long get a pop up message that itunes stop syncing because of error 46, some times giving me 58, 1469, and many other numbers, please help am using macbook pro
That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

I know what I did to cause this. I upgraded my one of my hard drives, renamed the drive and moved the folder. The missing pictures it can't find were added with the option in the advance menu "copy photo to library" turned off.

What I did is added a small SSD as my primary drive. Put the OS and all the apps on it. Moved my iPhoto and iTunes libraries to an large external. Most of the picture it is not having a problem wth. Only certain ones. Don't actually think I unchecked tha prefeence, but it's acting like i have.

The album "House This? Tastefully composed by KneeDeep" has at least one track cut short from 7 minutes to just 2:30 mins:seconds. It is "Crash (Lovebirds Remix)" track #12.
I bought this track two years ago and it is in my iPod and it is about 7 mins long. Now on iTunes it is 2 mins 30 seconds.
Can you fix this so that I can download it to my iPhone? I cannot resolve the iTunes library since I lost the original computer I used to have my iTunes library, but that's a different question.
Also the "I Got A Hold On You Soul" track (#3) is cut short to 2:30 from its 5+ min time.
Is this cutting artists music deliberate to save storage space? Do you choose the tracks at random or by number of downloads?
Or is this "an honest mistake"? Both tracks appear to have been cut to the same length of 2 mins 30 seconds.Okay, I compared the track listing of this album on iTunes to a well-known music distribution service and it seems that there is storage corruption.
Crash (Lovebirds Remix) by Milton Jackson is track 11 and its length is 7:42.
Track #3 is The Night by Lovebirds, which appears as track #4 in iTunes.
Don't know where iTunes listed track #3 "I got a hold on your soul" came from.
The sad part is that "Crash (Lovebirds Remix)" is one of the coolest tracks in House.
If Apple is roaming these listsing (accidentally or whatever) could you please fix this?
(I know you're preparing for iPhone 5..., but perhaps you could find a little time?)
P.S. Interestingly enough, the back cover of the album shows the iTunes listing, but it still doesn't answer why Crash (Lovebirds Remix) by Milton Jackson is 2:30 instead of 7:42.

Reformatted PC - now can't manually 'sync' music tracks.
I use iTunes and manually 'sync' my iPod & iPhone with my HP laptop - this has worked fine for years. I have now reformatted my laptop (with Win 7) and reloaded iTunes. Now for both devices, the music is greyed out and I can't change or add music tracks (manually) without iTunes wiping all the music. How can I now manually add/delete tracks?

I've never managed my iphone by syncing so why won't it let me just manually manage makes NO sense.
And because I have a ton of smart playlists on my iphone and I make my playlists on my phone because most of my playlists are smart playlists (Like for example I have my 4 star rated songs and 5 star ones)and I make my playlists mostly on the bus to school. I really don't want to lose my playlists my iphone is so properly organized and right now your saying I'm essentially going to lose all that if I want to add any more music.

How do you delete songs that you purchased through iTunes but don't show up when you connect the iphone to iTunes? They don't show up in the music section when you click on "On this phone". Side Note: I have my phone setup to manually manage music. Please help.

If you want to delete a song from your iOS device on iOS 7, tap Songs, swipe the song from right to left, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Help, I can't sync any music to my iPhone 5s or iPad 2 ! it says it's finished sync but the music is greyed out and not on my devices.. I've tried unchecking the music and doing it manually. Nothing works. I took it to Apple store Robina no help..
So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.

I have forgotten my password for iPod Touch 4G and it is now disabled. I tried connecting to iTunes but i haven't synced before and i need to enter the password before i can back it up so i can restore it. I don't want to lose pictures so please HELP!
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
