Don't understand how Apple's 'status' page works

There are literally thousands of users complaining about Facetime being broken over the last eight days.
Apple's only response seems to be "update your software".
However, many iOS 7 users are also complaining about broken Facetime, even AFTER updating.
So, the question is - what does Apple's status-page actually represent, since it lists Facetime as being green and regular.
Confused...

Well then, if that's the official statment - i.e. iOS 6 users who DON'T want to upgrade at this time to iOS 7, well, Facetime will no longer be available to you.
Their quote: "If you're using iOS 7.0.4 or later or iOS 6.1.6, this issue doesn't affect you."
I don't think iOS 6.1.6 was ever made available for iPad users, was it?
If I am interpreting that correctly, I imagine my spouse and I will begin to look for a comptetitors brand of tablet,
since we really don't like iOS 7 very much, mainly because with our iPad 2 and 3, the update really slows the ipad down significantly. Those with iPad 4's and up will be fine.
My iPad 3 is 16 months old. Paid nearly $700 for it. 16 months old, and I can't run the OS I purchased (if it came with iOS 7, I may not have actually bought it). $700 obsolete in 16 months.
Sad, but if that's the case, not much iOS 6 users can do.

I don't understand how to update my OS software!

T-Mobile finally released the 4.5 version of the BlackBerry software but I don't understand how to update my phone's OS. Their instructions are extremely confusing (leaving out information) and I'm just not sure how to do this. All I want to do is update the OS, I don't want to delete anything from the phone.
Their instructions say to download the file from their website to update but they fail to tell you when to connect you phone (hey I'm a new user of these phones) so the **bleep** software installs on my pc! I'm like wtf??? Then on further down their instruction page they tell you to put a check mark in back up my settings but leave the checkmarks below that for delete apps, etc unchecked...yet I can't uncheck them, there are checkmarks in them already and the boxes are greyed out and I can't remove the checkmarks.
I just don't know what to do, I do not want to have to sit here for hours resetting up my phone all over again (it's really a pain in the ass)! Isn't there a way to just update the OS on the phone without deleting anything from the phone? If not f this then!

OK and when I run desktop manager then what do I do? There are no instructions after this setup with my mobile carrier, they just leave me hanging. Also, is my phone going to be wiped or will it just update the OS? I don't want to lose all my settings that took me hours to setup on this thing and have to redo everything all over again. Backup? I don't understand how to do that either (again all of this is new to me). I don't have a second phone where I can call T-Mobile on the phone and have them walk me through it, I only have my cell that's it. They refuse to give me instructions unless I'm on another phone when I call them, why they won't let me write them down is beyond me...these carriers are getting mighty picky these days on customer service/technical support.

In order to sync your Windows contacts to your iPhone, you will need to first create an iCloud account:

You will create the iCloud account on your iOS device, and when you do, don’t forget to turn on contact syncing in the initial setup. Then you will want to download the iCloud control panel for Windows onto your computer and install it:

Make sure that your contacts are in Outlook, as that is the supported way of syncing your contacts to iCloud, then make sure you have the contact syncing enabled in the iCloud control panel on your computer, and when the contacts have synced, they will be available on your iOS device! Well, if they were synced fomr a computer then the iPhone says the computer "owns" them for instructional purposes. You have two options.
1) Plug your iPhone up to any computer with iTunes. You can get itunes at www.itunes.com Then tell it to sync photos, but then select no photos or an empty folder. This will override what the previous computer put on your iPhone.
2) Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings and say goodbye to everything including those synced photos. If you make a quick backup first in iCloud (be sure it finishes) then you can restore form your iCloud backup via Wifi and those synced photos wont be there. What kind of attachment you are trying to download? After downloading, it should appear with the icon of the program that mostly likely will open it.

It asks you to pick a foreground color, use the pen tool and make a traingle with the points, completing your last point by clicking on the first and completing the loop.
Then it wants you to go to Ctrl+Click on the path, add a few new points, and drag them around to warp the path but I cannot warp it like in the tutorial. I just get some random shapes and inversion of foreground color and white.
How do I do step 2?

Those are basic path adjustments. With the pen tool selected, you Ctrl+click on the path to make sure it's selected and then click on the path a couple of times with the Pen tool to add some anchor points which you then modify

No, you should not use Dreamweaver. A good ftp program is Cyberduck.

You publish your site to a folder and then upload it with Cyberduck. I recommend you ask the IT Help desk of your university about how best to do this.

Don't Understand How to Play a Playlist in ITunes

I don't understand how to get Itunes to play my playlists on my home computer. I select the playlist, press the play button and either nothing happens or it may play the first selection in the playlist then stop. When I try to skip a song, it just stops as well. Is there some setting I need to have to simply play a playlist on my home computer. The playlists work fine on my Ipod. I don't get it. Please help.

Ya, the checkboxes are there to basically let iTunes know, yes, you can play me automatically. If they are unchecked, they don't get played (unless you specifically pick to play them) and if there are NO checked songs in a playlist, after it finishes the current song, finds nothing checked, so doesn't play anything else.

Need help. My credit card has been compromised. Have been charged on my credit card since March 2014. After approaching the my bank, i was asked to cancel my credit card and was replaced with a new card in May. However, in June I was again charged on my new card.
