Don't want edited images showing up in same folder as RAW images

As I go through my catalog of RAW images, I'll select an image (or more if I'm doing a pany/stacked), then use the "Edit in CS5" command.  After I edit the photo and save in a new/different folder (usually as a .jpeg), the saved image will then show up in my RAW catalog, too.
I don't want this.  I have made a catalog for RAW images, and it gets confusing when images show up in a catalog where I only expect RAW images.  How do I stop edited images showing up in a catalog not intended for them?
Thank-you.

I don't think you can do that. External Edit in LR is designed so that the result represents one further stage in the processing of your photo, so it will automatically added to your catalog, and stacked with the original, if you chose so.
For what you are looking for, try using export with a Postprocessing option of "Open in Photoshop". This will not add the result to your catalog, unless you've marked "Add to This catalog".

  • I DON'T want attachments to show in the text of the Mail email

    I DON'T want attachments to show in the text of the email.
    My company just switched over to Mail today. Every time we send an email with a .pdf attachment, it shows the attachment in the text body of the email. We don't want that to happen. How do I prevent this from happening?
    Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Mail 2.1.1

    You can't.
    The Mail.app displays all image/photo and single page PDF attachments inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default - sending and receiving.
    You can control-click on a viewed in place attachment and select View as Icon but the icon for the attached file will remain in the body of the message. Regardless, depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place when the message is opened by the recipient (as with the Mail.app when receiving such attachments) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to be viewed for which the sender has no control over.
    This was a minor adjustment for me at first but I now prefer such attachments being displayed inline since I have confirmation that I selected the correct file or file names as attachments before the message is sent.

  • Showing "0" photos in a library folder.  But the photos show in that same folder explore.

    Hi Everyone - Showing "0" photos in a library folder.  But the photos show in that same folder explore.  I have LR 5.6 set to "Show photos in Subfolder".  I have filters off.  There are 380 photos that I spent several days editing.  I have been building a book online for the past several days and have been uploading the photos with no problem. I have been going back into this folder in the library to pick what I want to use with no problem until today.  The folder shows in the "Folder" section of the Library but it shows "0" photos are in the folder.  When I open that same folder in explore all of the photos are there.  I have changed nothing since working on this project yesterday.  I have rebooted my system and that did not help.  Any suggestions to make these photos show up again in the Library would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance!  Toby

    Thanks for the fast reply dj_paige!  I had already searched for the photos prior to my post and found the photos neatly tucked away in the folder that was showing "0" photos.  But could not view them in LR.  I should have mentioned that in my previous post.  I also tried synchronizing the folder after I rebooted this morning to no avail.  Now the strange thing - I just clicked on synchronize folder once again and it replaced the photos into the folder and I can now see them in LR once again.  I can't explain why that did not work earlier but am glad it worked just now.  Thanks again for your reply!

  • How do I keep my home calendar events from showing up in my work calendar (outlook)? I have my work e-mail on my phone and need to see the work calendar but I don't want personal appointments showing up on it, like drs. appointments, soccer games etc.

    I want to keep my home and work calendars separate but be able to look at both on my phone. I don't want my personal appointments and events to show up on my work calendar, although it's fine if work events show up on my home calendar.  When I delete a personal appointment from my work calendar in Outlook, it disappears from my home calendar on my phone. I just want it to disappear from my work calendar!. FYI, I have my work and personal e-mail accounts on my phone.
    Thanks for any help/advice you can offer!

    When you say "use the same purchasing apple ID for both to share books/music apps"- will this allow him to see what apps I download on his ipod (don't want)? will this allow me to continue to see what apps/games he gets on his ipod, on my phone (do want)? and do I set those changes on both devices?
    To do this:
    iPhone: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads:
         Music: ON
         Apps: ON
         Books: ON
    iPod: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads:
         now you decide what he gets automatically.
    He doesn't use game center, imessage, facetime or anything else (mainly just games, music and picture taking)- so does he really need his own apple id and email address? also- if he wants to start getting text messages, would i still have access to all of them if he has his own apple id? would i have access to them if he stays on my apple id?
    Then he doesn't need an Apple ID.
    Switch in
    Settings > Messages >
         iMessage: OFF
         Send & Receive > Apple ID: > sign out
    Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime: OFF

  • Don't want to store temporary files in downloads folder firefox

    When opening an attachment from a website, such as a pdf, a windows pops up letting you choose to open with "Preview Document" or "save to...." If I choose "preview document," the pdf will automatically saved to my Downloads folder, which I don't want. In Winxp, temporary files are store in a temporary folder, and will be replaced by new temporary files. How do I do that in mac? I want to temporary "preview" the pdf and don't want it to save a copy to the download folder, because I use the folder for the downloads I want to keep. I use firefox btw. Thanks.

    Hi there,
    How did you do this? As it is not possible to see the private folder through the preferences window when setting the downloads folder. I even used TinkerTool to make all hidden files & folders visible...
    Thanks!

  • Synced (named) TV Shows in the same folder on iPhone 6 Plus

    Strange issue here, not something I have experienced in the past.
    I have a number of training videos that have been placed in to TV Shows within iTunes.
    In the past if I wanted to copy this content to a device (iPhone or iPad Mini Retina) I would simply drag and drop and it would be synced to the device in it's own folder within the Videos app. Even files that were originally in different folders, when deleted and added back to the device would share the same folder making life somewhat difficult.
    Now I don't know if this is IOS 8.2 related or iTunes 12 related but now if I try to sync the same shows back to my devices the files all get placed in to the same gray folder, each show is named the same, each file is named \ numbers correctly as far as episodes is concerned (I even renamed the file directly and numbered it within iTunes instead just to see if that worked).
    This is starting to get a little bit frustrating as these videos could number in the 100's and the last thing I want to do is have to re-name each file so that I can identify the training as well as the subject, some of which are very similar.
    Any one any ideas? I don't want to have to go back to using a 3rd party app as using it this way worked well and prior to IOS 8 I also had thumbnails for each show (which of course now don't show up either).

  • Don't want button images to show active link color

    I made hover buttons and when I link to them to the appropriate pages it creates a box with the link color around the whole button. So this changes the look of the button with an ugly blue border. I looked at the options in the page properties under links but not seeing anything to help. How do I have an active link but deactivate the box and color that identifies it as such? I primarily create my sites in the design mode as my CSS skills are not very strong. Thank you in advance.

    Use CSS.
    Add
    a img { border: none; }
    to your CSS stylesheet.

  • Don't want floating images- how to make it stable

    HI,
    I just want a static site where it all stays in its correct place.
    I put my button bar, header and headline in a div tag. Without it they wouldn't go in place-not lined up.
    With it, they float all over. Please see http://www.dancingfruitbook.com.
    For some reason the copy below is in a div tag and it does not move around.
    Oh, I'd so appreciate the help.
    Many, many thanks,
    Elaine

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You are learning the hard way that using absolute positioning for layout purposes is an easy trip to the nut house.
    Try this code with all the positioning removed and tell us what's not in the right place -

  • I want to keep my pinned sites on my new tab, but I don't want history to show up.

    When I open a new tab I have favorite sites pinned.
    However, random tabs from my history also start to show.
    I only want to see the pinned sites and not the history. However, I want to keep my history stored, just not on a new tab.
    Is there a way to accomplish this?

    The function of the '''New Tabs''' page is to display the sites you go to
    the most. You can '''Pin''' the ones you want in place, but that's all.
    Are you pinning at position 1, 2, 3 or just pinning where it was?

  • Don't want TOC to show when using Bookmark feature

    I want to use the bookmark feature on a quiz but the TOC shows on the screen.  How do you take it off?

    If you are NOT using an LMS then you can turn on Self Paced Learning in the TOC settings.
    If you ARE using an LMS, then Self Paced Learning is disabled and you need to rely on Resume Data Bookmarking which is on by default whenever you report to an LMS (unless you have Never Send Resume Data checked in your LMS Customization Settings in Captivate).

    Bill,
    Look in System Preferences...>Accounts>My Account>Login Items. If iCal is located in that list, you can remove it to prevent iCal opening on boot.

    You can view the purchase history on your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, on your account's details page there should be a purchase history section with a 'see all' link to its right : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727

  • Don't want personal emails showing in work email inbox (8330 Curve)

    I succesfully set up my personal email account (comcast) on my 8330 Curve, but the messages are showing in both the main inbox (work) and also the comcast inbox.  Does anyone know how to get the device to only show them in the personal inbox?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    lol, yea, it's pretty technologically unadvanced, lol.
    Some users prefer to hide the main message icon and use only the email-specific folder. They are automatically filtered in that manner. So only your yahoo account email comes to the Yahoo folder, only your Gmail comes to your gmail folder, only your [email protected] email comes to another folder, etc.
    You can have up to ten email accounts/addresses on one device/BIS account.
    You can do a search of this and all other blackberry-related forums, and I think you will find the answer is... no. Sorry.
    Now, that said, a BES account can have a policy pushed to it to have the BES mail moved to a different folder, and BES users can also use Empower BES Inbox... but none of that applies to this situation.

  • DetailStamp - Don't want the Hide/Show feature

    Hi,
    Showing master with detail table using detailStamp facet and following the the instruction posted to expand all initially.
    Is there a to skip the ">Hide" and "+Show" altogether?
    I tried to switch using af:showDetail instead of detailStamp and is able to only show icon with no text of show/hide but the default expansion is no longer working.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Mel

    My view source is actually showing x2n x5y for the Hide/Show cell but wrapped inside a div.
    <td class="x2n x5y" nowrap><div><a onclick="return _submitHideShow('_id37',1,'hide','masterTable','masterTabledd1','1')" href="#" id="masterTabledd1"><span title="Select to hide information" class="x52">&#9660;</span></a><a onclick="return _submitHideShow('_id37',1,'hide','masterTable','masterTabledd1','1')" href="#" class="xl">Hide</a></div></td>
    So I tried to do the sugesstion
    <afh:head title="My page">
    <f:verbatim>
    <style type="text/css">
    .x2n x5y { display: none; }
    </style>
    </f:verbatim>
    </afh:head>
    and it didn't worked.
    I have also tried .x2n .x5y which does not worked too. However, if I do just .x2n, it works but all the .x2n cells content disappeared which is not what good.
    Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated.
