how can i prevent email from opening when i highlight it so that i can decide if i want to send it to the trash before opening it?

how can i insert a file in a mail message i send to someone? i don't want the picture to be open or the text to be displayed. I want to send the file as a file. Pleas advise. thank you.
Attach it to the message. An attachment is an attachment -- if it is displayed or not by the recipient's e-mail client is not under your control.
You can zip it (compress it) before sending it; if it's text, you should zip it anyway; if it's JPEG, zipping will not reduce the size (in fact, it's even possible it may increase it slightly), but most e-mail clients do not display what's inside a zip archive. -
Every morning when I "awaken" my MacBook Pro, I come to find that my Safari browser has been closed on it's own. How to fix this? I don't want to lose anything I have possibly typed in a site that I have left to finish working on for later. I checked system preferences and everything seems to be checked appropriately as well as for Safari's preferences.
I am not sure what's going on, because Safari only just recently started doing this and I haven't downloaded anything, nothing out of my regular computer routine. As well, I upgraded to Mavericks when it came out and I have the last version of it too. I can't imagine that Safari would close simply because I don't have or want to upgrade to Yosemite. I am holding off on the upgrade for a bit, because I heard Final Cut Pro 7 can't be run on Yosemite. While I could partition my drive, I really don't want to. Mavericks is fine for right now : )
Okay sooooo...back to Safari...what the! Please help and thanks for any replies ahead of time!

The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
Network section.
In Network - click on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
either these, from google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
or from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport) -
I don't want previous info to pop up when I'm filling in forms. How do I keep that from happening?
When I fill in forms, suggestions (previous answers) pop up. I don't want this to happen.

All of my devices seem to be connected... It's messages that I want to turn off. I don't want to receive any messages on anything except my daughters iPod that are sent to my Apple ID. I don't have a wireless printer, and want to print things off of my iPad. I know that I can use the iPad Camera Connection kit to connect USB devices like keyboards and I am wondering if I could do the same with a USB printer.
I don't think you can connect a printer since you won't have the printer drivers. I use FingerPrint from collobos.com to print to my non-AirPrint printers.

Go to the site and look for an unsubscribe link. Or, contact the site and ask them to stop.

I have posted "submit" twice and keep getting requests to submit again. Now being asked to write a summary! Here we go. I have iPhoto 08 and am happy with it. Don't want to upgrade. But suddenly when I click on an event, instead of getting all the photos, I just get a large version of one photo and cannot move on to the others. The right arrow will not move it and the photo just jumps around.
Note the slider bottom right of the iPhoto Window. Drag it left.

MpegstreamClip, with QuickTime pro as the engine you can open and export just about anything.
Flip4Mac, buy it and you can convert and export to wmv. Usefull if you must have wmvs in PowerPoint.
