Dont have curves options under layer new adjustment layer in pse 10
please help! I cannot find the curves option! Its not under layers>new adjustment layer in pse10
There is no curves adjustment layer in PSE. There is a kind of curves if you go to Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Color Curves. There's a free curves adjustment layers in both Grant's tools:

and the inexpnsive elements+ from simplephotoshop.com also has them, but both are slightly crippled by adobe's disabling of some underlying features at a deep level since PSE 4. If you use windows, many people prefer the free smartcurve from easyfilter:

Hello. I am having trouble in New Adjustment layer. When I open Bridge and select a photo and go to CS3 I set up a duplicate layer and if I go to New adjustment layer and select any from that menu, ie, Photo filter... color mixer to convert to B&W the event show up in the layers side bar but the the eye dropper tool shows up in the photo and CS3 locks up. If I go to Image>Adjustments I can use the filters. However if I go Layer>New Adjustment Layer it locks up. I have recently added an Epson RX595 printer but thinking that is the the problem disconnected it but it still locks up and I have to go to Force Quit to restart CS3. I am new to iMac and have Leopard 10.5.2 3GB in RAM.
What am I doing wrong or what needs to be done.Arnold,

New Adjustment layer vs. new solid and turn on adj icon

Is it safe to say that an Adjustment layer is just a solid layer named Adjustment Layer with the black and white adjustment icon activated and that defaults to a Solid Setting that is comp size and white in color.
thanksThat's close. Any layer can be turned into an adjustment layer, not just a a solid-color layer. When you create a new adjustment layer with the Layer > New > Adjustment Layer command, it creates a regular white solid-color layer as you describe and then turns the Adjustment Layer switch on for that layer.

I've been using photoshop for a while, as well as a number of 3D applications. Speed and efficiency have always been very important, and I usually customize my software a lot to make it work for me. These are some of the things photoshop could do better in comparison to the user interfaces in some 3D programs.
Rotate canvas unintuitive:
While having a center pivot seems more intuitive at first, it actually causes me nothing but trouble having to always figure out where the center is, and then deciding how close i am (which will change speed of rotation). I would like at least an option to simply drag left and drag right for clockwise and counterclockwise at a specific speed.
Hot Key Limitations:
alt R and control R and shift R cannot be assigned to different things. I would prefer it if i could customize all of these.
new adjustment layer features:
often when painting in photoshop, i create an adjustment layer over all the layers. If i like how it looks, and want to continue painting, i have to either turn it off while i work and switch it on at the end again, flatten the entire painting loosing the layer separations, or duplicate the adjustment layer and setting it next to each pre-existing layer and then merging each set of 2 layers(the original + the duplicated adjustment layer).
It would be really wonderful if the process of duplicating the adjustment layers and flattening each set of 2 could be automated. a sort of Flatten to all individually button.
Brush Size Slider:
Zbrush has a very wonderful brush size change. I never appreciated it until trying photoshops. (previously to this i used another piece of hardware with a scroll wheel to change brush size. and still do. why the heck is the first brush size jump 10 units!?! simply a linear brush size change would have been awesome. although including a brush size slider is already pretty awesome

I used to just hit Exc key and it would disappear.
Now Command+z won't even undo it.
That makes me have to click on it in the layers pallet and drag it in the trash...'Initially' my ***. Unless they improve both the performance and the interface design of the Adjustments Panel hugely. They would also have to find a way to float the panel, so it disappears.
The two 'advantages' of the panel are as follows - 1 the TAT tool allowing within image dragging to adjust values. I assume for users without the ability to grasp the concept the most powerful tool, Curves. I will admit that when it eventually is fast enough to use efficiently, and implemented smoothly, this may be a good addition. 2 - the ability to alter opacity and mode of the adjustment, without exiting the dialog. More of a choice for inexperienced users who think this should be necessary at all.
At the moment these two, relatively minor for advanced users, advantages are outweighed by the many disadvantages by a long chalk.
You don't need to do V and then delete in CS4 - the delete key just deletes layers -
I have a UK apple mac and im trying to use mirroring so when searching google, ebay, writting document it shows up on my tv but i dont have the option of 'Mirroring' when i click on the rectangular box in lower right hand corner. Anyone have advice on how I can do this?

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

Photoshop CS3 freezing when I create a new adjustment layer
I am working on a Macbook Pro. Have plenty of memory/RAM/scratch disk space.
When I try editing an image (which I have exported from Lightroom) PS freezes as soon as a new adjustment layer is created. When there is a second layer, I am unable to return to the original layer. Tool switches automatically from default "move" tool to "eyedropper" and PS freezes.
Have been through all the archives and can find no help. Also just re-installed PS from the disk and still have the same issue.
Thanks for any advice/help.Usually just checking the system display configuration and sorting that out will make it work. Photoshop tries to make sure the dialogs are displayed on an active display, but has to trust the OS about what displays are active.
If you ever get completely stuck, then resetting Photoshop preferences will reset all dialog locations and EVERYTHING ELSE - so backup your favorite settings and presets before doing a complete reset. -
PS crashes with New Adjustment Layer . . .
I'm using PS4, and now suddenly when I try to apply a new adjustment layer Photoshop crashes.
Any suggestions?I have version 11.0.2, the latest. But the crash report is very long.

I want to connect my IMAC to TV with HDMI cable. I did it before going to Dispaly and Arrangments and then mirror. Now when I go to display I dont have to option of arrangements. Olny {Display and Color} pops up. Any ideas what happend to arrengements?
For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer. Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

This is when the phone is unlocked mode. My snapshot is when the phone is locked.
Remember when you get a call when the phone is locked and you used to have slide to answer in iOS 6 and if you slide up you would have options to reject, reject with a message and reject with a reminder. We dont have that in iOS 7. iOS 7 *****, I cannot get back to iOS6, apple needs to be user friendly. Screen shot 1 when the phone is locked, screenshot 2 when the phone is unlocked. -

New Adjustment Layer - Levels/histogram GLITCH ?
I use the non-destructive Adjustment Layers (Layers/New Adjustment Layer) all the time. Today when I was playing around on the CS6 beta for Photoshop, I discovered that after selecting the New Adjustment Layer for Levels that I couldn't see the historgram graph when tried to re-access the Adjustment Layer by clicking on the Levels icon on the layer palette. I shut photoshop off and reopened it, hoping it had a quick reset fix... but no luck. When I first open up a Levels Adj. Layer, I can see the historgram and slide bar, but when I close it, and return to it to do additional work, I can no longer see the histogram graph. All I see is a smaller version of what looks like a small dark grey levels box, with the 3 levels arrows (left-dark, middle-mid tones, right-light) but no histogram to make adjustments with.
Am I missing something here...? Is this super obvious and I just need another cup of coffee to make it all become clear?Hello, could you post a screen capture? http://forums.adobe.com/message/4209263#4209263

Confounded by error sound after creating new adjustment layer
after creating a new adjustment layer I (often) find that despite having clicked on the new mask I cannot either change the background colour, or zoom the brush etc I just get an error sound 'plonk'
If I click on another layer then back it will work - this keeps hapening -what am I doing wrong? I also can create adjustment layers at other times with no problems, not chaninging anything AFAICS
