You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.

Error Running Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time

Hello,
We are having trouble running Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time on certain user's machines. Here are the specifics:
The user opens Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer. The user then opens Discoverer in another Internet Explorer windows and receives the following error: Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe abnormal program termination
As a work around, I installed Firefox on those user's machines. These users run Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer and run Discoverer in FireFox. This has solved the problem in 99% of the cases. However, there is one user who is having FireFox using Discoverer freeze when running Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer.
Can anyone provide any insight on how I can solve these conflict issues so users can run Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time?

Hi Michael,
I agree with you completely. It is reccommended to run 10g on a separate physical server unless you have sufficient resources to run on the same server (which even most large clients do not) Even then, I would recommend a separate server.
I should have put my comment in context :-)
a.) I was only stating that it was possible
and
b.) whether 10g is installed on the same physical server or separate should not affect the client browser crashing issue that was posted.
I do have an install with EBS11i and Discoverer 10g on the same physical server and it works fine (this is sandbox/ TEST). Most of my large customers have 10g installed on multiple physical servers due to load balancing (capacity).
I do work for Oracle. I try to help out on the forum when I can, but it is hit or miss :-(
I would be glad to discuss anything privately.
As for the issue at hand, I can reproduce the problem and here is what is occuring.
I have EBS 11i configured with Jiniator 1.3.24
I have Discoverer 10g configured with Sun Java plugin 1.4.2_06
1. If you launch EBS 11i apps and a form with MS IE, then the browser launches the form using Jiniator JRE 1.3.xx (whatever you have configured in AutoConfig for EBS11i)
2. Next, the user navigates to EBS 11i SSWA and launches a Discoverer workbook.
What occurs is a child IEXPLORE.exe process is spawned from the parent IEXPLORE.exe process and Discoveer Plus is launched. The parent iexplore.exe process will be attached to the Jiniator JVM. Now if Discoverer is configured with
a.) Sun Java Plugin or
b.)a version of Jinitiator that is a different version from what EBS 11i is configured with
then you may get this conflict.
It really is an MS IE/JRE conflict with Jinitiator and Sun Java Plugi and the way the broswers attaches to the JVM (IMHO) as this behaviour could be reproduced with other non-oracle java applets.
You can workaround the situation by:
a. configure EBS11i and Discoverer to use the same version of Jiniator 1.3.xx
b. educate the users to open one MS IE browser to connect to EBS11i and then open a second MS IE browser to login to EBS11i SSWA or Discoverer 10g Plus directly to launch workbooks. They need to to this by clicking on the icon and not using File >> New browser. Clicking on the icon will spawn a new parent iexplore.exe process that can attach to a second/different JVM. File >> New Window will spawan a child of the parent.
c. As you did use two browser versions. MS IE for EBS11 connection and FireFox for Disocverer 10g connection.
I would choose optoin b, so that you can use Sun Java Plugin with Discoverer.
Open to any comments. I hope that helps you workaround the problem. The ideal solution is to have EBS 11i use/cerified with the 1.4 or 1.5 JRE. In poking around, I see there is a related post to this on one of Oracle's EBS 11i Product Managers Blog.

Once my computer gets past the initial setup download it asks which user wants to run the app and when i click on it it just stops the whole thing .

i am trying to download firefox onto my computer and it goes through the whole run setup download thing and when it gets to where it should start the download wizard it pops up a window that says you may not have access to use all the programs on this computer , either stay as it is or use a different user and when i click on either one it just stops the whole thing . like i never did anything at all .

Personally, I would call Apple back. However...
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

i am thinking that this would be my hard driver cuz my hd are clicking.
and u guys know how long the mac stays in the repairs for change a hard drive?

Paulo, how full is your hard drive and what sort of applications are open when this occurs?
Have you tried booting from your OS DVD (or an external drive) and running Disk Utility to "repair drive"?

Run Setup.exe and Says there is an Error: Help!

I have just downloaded the Photoshop CS4 trial for windows and ran the file and it extracted some files. Now I run the Setup.exe and after a few seconds of the "Checking System Profile" thing I get an error saying ask Adobe support and just a quit button. Any ideas why? Thanks. I f you need any info let me know.

While I think that Mylenium and Dec9 have solved your problem with installation, here is a CHECKLIST on installing most Adobe programs, that might also help.

How can I re-run the SMC and EFI driver updaters ?

When I bought my iMac Intel 20" in mid-2006, I immediately had a problem with the video driver when the computer woke up from sleep : the screen was badly flickering.
After lengthy talks with Apple, I was sent two updaters (one for the SMC and one for EFI) which solved the problem. Just to make sure, I deactivated completely the energy saver.
No problem for two years and a half.
Last night, for a reason unknown to me, the computer went into sleep mode and when it woke up, the whole screen was flickering and had vertical lines in it, despite having up-to-date SMC and EFI drivers.
Assuming that they had been corrupted, I wanted to re-run the updaters. But the computer refuses, saying that it is not needed.
So, my question is "HOW CAN I FORCE A RE-RUN" OF THE SMC AND EFI UPDATERS ?"
I have tried everything else, resetting the PRAM, resetting the SMC, tinkering with the monitor settings. But nothing works.
I believe that running again the updaters is the only possibility left, but they are up-to-date
Here is a summary of the iMac system info :
iMac (20-inch, Early 2006) IM41.0055.B08 (EFI 1.1) 1.1f5 (SMC 1.0).

PS : I have tried to contact the "experts" at Apple Support but, because my machine is two years old, they want me to buy time to ask this question from them, despite the fact that the problem stems clearly from a faulty design at the beginning of the iMac life, and that the knowledge base says that there is no unresolved issue presently with this model !
Well, the problem is still there after two years and I only avoided it by deactivating the energy saver.
But Apple never mentioned how to force running an updater if the machine does not want to ...

You can restore a backup only by using the iOS Setup Assistant.

Running ADF10g app and 11g app on WL server

We have a Struts based ADF10g app currently running on OAS 10g. A new application using JSF and ADF 11g is being developed and will be run on WebLogic 10.3.4. To avoid having to maintain OAS and WL side by side, I am trying to get both apps to run on WebLogic.
I have followed the steps laid out by Shay (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/deployingwls-091640.html) to get the ADF 10g based application to run on Weblogic 11g.
1. With the ADF Runtime Installer running, (setDomainEnv.cmd includes "call "%DOMAIN_HOME%\setupadf.cmd""),
the struts based application runs but the JSF application fails to run with this exception:

I'm not sure you'll be able to mix these two versions on a single server, because there might be some libraries conflict.
One solution to try is to try and package all the 10g jar files into the EAR of the application, so libraries won't be picked up from the WLS shared libraries.
Another option is to upgrade your struts application to the JDeveloper 11g version that you are using and then just using the 11g libraries on the server.
And another solution is to have two WLS server instances one with the 10g libraries and the other with the 11g libraries.

Having a problem running jheadstart app and adf-faces-demo on wls 8.1 sp4

I have created a very simple jheadstart app in Jdeveloper. Also I have created a project from the adf-faces-demo.
I am now trying to run both applications on weblogic 8.1 sp4
Both applications exhibit the same behavior. When trying to load the index page, the progress bar on the browser indicates that the page is loading (and stays there) and I don't see any error in the output log (except for the message:

Which I understand is harmless.
I have done the following to try to make this work:
Make sure that the application is compiled in JDK 1.4
Add the recommend jlib, lib, and MyFaces jars to the classpath.
Change the extension of the index page to jsp and change the web.xml to:

I noticed you reported this on the JDev forum as well. Deploying ADF-Jhs apps is not different from deploying a plain ADF app, (apart from the Jhs Runtime lib that should be added to the .ear file), so please continue to use the JDev forum to resolve your problems.

Setup SSD and hard drive combo on 27" iMac?

I have a new 27” iMac with an SSD drive and a second 1TB drive. Somewhere I think I heard reference to arranging them so they appeared as a single drive on the desktop. Is this Tue? Or am I dreaming?I see the advantage in putting the OS and applications on the SSD and all else on the other drive, but is there an article that describes how to do it? Thank you.

Yes, it is possible to move your system and applications to the SSD.
If you are running from the HD, the procedure is to install OSX Snow Leopard on your SSD.
Boot from the SSD, create an temporary and empty user account, migrate your settings and applications using Migration Assistant. Leave your User Account with all the data on the internal HD.
Change the path to your User Account on the internal HD in System Preferences as above.
Reboot and you should be on your way. You can leave the system folder and applications on the internal HD where they are if space is not a consideration.

I have purchased a iphone and gave my daughter the ipod touch, but when i purchase her music or apps they come to my phone as well how do i stop this, I am not very apple smart so need easy advise please.

When you connect the iPod to the computer either by wifi or USB, and click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes you will go to the various panes for the iPod. There are labled near the top of the screen from Summary, Info, Apps, Tones, Music, ....... Clcik on the lable to acccess/show that pane. If you click on the Muic pane there is check box for Sync Music. Under that there are circles for that yu dot with yur cursor to:
Sync the "Entire Library"
"Selected playlist, artists, albums and genres"
And a check boxrs for:
Including music videos
Include vice memos
You want to sync "Selected playlist, artists, albums and genres"
The Apps pane is sumilar.

Windows 7 64bit Raid 1 Data Storage setup with UEFI and 6TB drives

i just bought a GigaByte MB with UEFI bios, 1 SSD 128GB drive for the OS (boot up), and 2 6TB drives for use in a raid 1 setup for the data storage.
I have been able to install win 7 64bit using the UEFI dvd drive. I have been able to define the 6TB mirror via the bios (under the Intel Rapid Storage Technology option) . But when ever i go into windows, and check under Disk Management, i don't
see the raid 1, i see two drives listed for the data, each at 1492 GB. I should be seeing 1 drive at 5.4TB.
note: I have tried re-installing win7 64bit many times to see if i have missed something. When i run setup off uefi dvd drive, i see that drive 1 (of what should be part of the mirror) and drive 2 are listed there at the reported 1492 GB size each.
So it seems that win7 doesn't see that mirror that i created via the bios. So is this a bios setting problem somewhere? i presume on this screen i should see the correct mirror size already.
Also, do i need to install win7 via the uefi dvd if i don't want to boot off those large drives (i just want to boot off the ssd. But when i did try that using a legacy mode, i couldn't later try to create a single large drive for the mirror using
GPT formatting. it just wasn't an option. although the mirror was recognized as 1 drive, but broken into 2TB and 3TB.)
what could i possibly be doing wrong??

Thank You Roger. I did call Gigabyte. This is how i solved it with the gigabyte support team.
1. Don't try installing Win7 64bit sp1 and setup RAID at the same time. (even go ahead and unplug those raid drives if you have it plugged in). The OS should be installed first on the boot drive, but make sure the BIOS is already set
to RAID (not AHCI. If you already installed OS under AHCI, you need to reinstall OS. i find this crazy because what if you decide to install raid down the road.. to an existing machine.. you can't do that because of this). Make sure
to install OS with the UEFI dvd drive option (i had done this).
2. Once the OS is installed, install all drivers that come for the Motherboard... That should include intel Raid drivers. (note gigabyte support didn't tell me to do this, but i didn't want to take a chance to have to reinstall OS again or have more problems,
but it makes sense.)
3. Now i have the GA-H97-Gaming 3 mother board, it had Bios F3. I upgraded it to F5 as per support tech.
4. turn off machine, and replug in the two 6TB drives.
5. after reboot, i find out that i no longer see Intel RAPID Storage Technology. (this should have displayed when i set the SATA Mode Selection to RAID before i started all this business... it did under bios F3, but not under F5.. bug?? i think so,
so i plan on letting gigabyte know about this). This is a problem. In Intel RAPID Storage Technology is where you define the RAID in the first place. OK, well after several reboots.. i tried to use CTRL-I to get to intel's interface
rather than that of the gigabyte bios. Voila... i define the Mirror...
6. I am able to boot into OS. I got to Drive Management. I now see 1 6TB drive. I initialize it of course using GPT. Format it. All all looks good now.
Hope this helps someone.. took me enough tries to get it right. I really am bothered about requiring the OS installed in the correct SATA mode just to get RAID working. As i mentioned, you can't change your mind afterwards without reinstalling
OS. Also i couldn't even get the OS setup to start when i had those raid drives plugged in.. so make sure to unplug them.

Yup all my apps and music are gone now

Well just like everyone else ios 5 jacked up my phone. I was going to look and check other peoples post so I didnt post the same issue someone else had but this site is running so slow! no doubt because so many people are having issues. I updated itunes first then i updated. However it couldnt back up my phone. But it said I could continue to update so I did. It updated me to 5 but it also returned my iphone 4 to factory settings Luckily I had backed up the night before so I tried to restore from back up. It took soooo long! and when my phone restarted and had me configure icloud settings. But when I looked through my stuff I had my contacts, e mail, pictures, and texts. But all my apps and music are missing! So I tried to restore again thinking ok I set up my icloud stuff so maybe now all my stuff will be back. And nope 30-40 mins later still the same!!!! *** I guess I can consider myself lucky since others dont even have their contacts. But man im ****** I had stuff to do today and instead I wasted my time with this update! And I still dont have my apps and music. How could apple have failed so bad?

Yep, same here. Literally, this happens EVERYTIME I update my iphone. Thousands of songs and tons of apps - all gone. I believe I've tried everything to get it all back, but no success.
Think it's time I chuck my iPhone out the window and boycott Apple.
