I assume you don't have a backup on an external HD. You always should, because then you could easily fix your problem.

Does JXTA allow you to download files from multiple source like a P2P?

I was interested in working on some networked apps using JXTA and I was wondering if JXTA allows you to download a file from multiple users (ala Bittorrent or P2P) or whether it's by a user to user basis?

To keep the sort of malware rather prevalent for Android devices off of your iPhone. Depending on what you need to download, though, you can probably find a third-party app that will do it. Since such apps keep their documents in their own sandbox, it helps protect the iPhone from being infected by malicious "documents".

Why doesn't apple allow you to download files from the internet like how android users can?

I was using a friend's android phone yesterday and saw that he could download files a wide variety of files from the internet and that made me wonder why Apple doesn't allow iPhone users to download files like the ones you could on an android device

How do you stop downloading file from hyperlinks

Sometimes I click a hyperlink and a file starts to download. Is there a way to have a confirmation screen ask if I would like to download this file.
I hate that is just does it. It would stop a a lot of garbage in my download folder too.

No, that's not currently possible. A .mpkg installer package can be opened automatically, because it is just a document opened by Apple's installer. As such, it cannot run any third-party code without user intervention. I cant download files onto my new hard drive

I have just got a new hard drive and I am unable to download any files from my macbook onto it. My hard drive is 1t and whenever I try to put the files on a little circle with a cross in it shows up and nothing happens. Is there anyway I could fix this? Thanks!

2 - what format is the external hard drive (select it in the finder and right click - get info to see the format
3 - exactly what are you trying to do - Downloading is not at all definitive as download can be done in many different ways using many different software packages

Ipod nano 6th gen cant download files into it anymore

So i try to download podcasts and music but it wont let me anymore, it says a file is missing.

Connect it to your computer. Click on the name of your iPod under DEVICES in the far left frame. Move to the Summary tab to your right and click on "Manually Manage My Music".
You will have to manually drag your music/podcasts from iTunes to your iPod and you will have to manually eject your iPod when you are through syncing.

Safari cant download file

Epub file of 722.73kb, its just a book, but everytime i try to download anything on here it says safari cannt download the file!! What am i doing wrong?

[MFC] Error Importing logs using SCP - "Error while downloading file. The remote host has terminated the connection"

Background:
In order to transfer logs to MFC, we had to use an intermediate logging server in our OOB network. When this logging server crashed we had to rebuild the server with new hardware and SCP no longer worked.
Issue:
The host key changed on the new server and had to be manually updated. We suspected it was related to the hosts key but had difficulty finding where the known hosts info was stored.
Solution:
Go to your install location of MFC and remove the known_hosts file. In our case the file was located at: "D:\Program Files\IronPort Systems\Mail Flow Central\mailFC\tmp\known_hosts". Instead of removing the file, we renamed it to known_hosts.old and restarted the MFC service. Afterwards we could see all the old logs importing.
The issue itself was not difficult to resolve, it just took more time than expected for something that would seem straightforward. To complicate things, we even raised a query to customercare who came back saying that they do not support the server on which MFC is running. But clearly the source of the issue was related to the application rather than the server itself.

Thanks for your comment qetzacoatl, however I don't this this will work for me, I am on a team, and we need to be able to check-in/out files and make sure we don't override eachothers work. I also don't want to have to use 2 programs to accomplish the task one should be able to do. Its now 3 weeks going and I can't get any work done, it seems like its getting worse. Nobody from Adobe seems to want to comment on my thread at all....So maybe I should just find a completely new solution and get rid of DW all together, Aptana is looking VERY nice right about now.

After posting I see this question has the tag of "windows". I don't know if this applies to the Windows version or not.
The only time I see this message is if I download something, trash it, AND empty the trash. If I don't empty the trash, it finds it there. It will find it wherever I move it to, unless it is was in the trash and emptied.
Using Finder, is the downloaded file in your Downloads folder?
Maybe if you go to Safari/Preferences/General and change the location for downloads to something else then change it back to Downloads it might correct it.
