Dont wanaa show request paramets in url

hi
i m new to this technology and have developed and deployed Hello example in the sun tutorial successfully :)
now my issue is i dont want to show the request parameter name / value pair in the response.jsp url ... i.e (...response.jsp?name=rhtdm)
any help regarding this is highly appreciated.

Use 'POST' instead of 'GET' as the method attribute of your form. And read up on HTTP basics first, that'll cover all this.

  • ADF DataControl on a Business Service taking a request parameter through url.

    Hi,
    Use Case:
    I have a business service  that contains a method String getPayoad(int b2bMessageId), and then created a data control based on this method. It is not based on BC4J
    I have a jsf page and dropped this data control on the jsf page (payload.jsf).
    Now I want to invoke this jsf page and pass on the b2bMessageId as a parameter from the url like http://....../payLoad?b2bMessageId=98236709865.
    Can someone help me in implementing this use case.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    thanks for the (partial) answer. Which blog would that be, by the way?
    An additional thought: Chapter 31 of the "Developer’s Guide For Forms/4GL Developers"
    10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0), B25947-01 mentions data control adapters as an alternative to
    Java Beans to represent the data source. Why is it alternative?
    It seems that a data control adapter provides a way to specify available ui controls,
    access data source meta data and invoke operations. Couldn't this also be used in the
    scenario that I described? Would it be possible to provide the metadata to the
    adapter in the form of a BeanInfo class, or an xsd-file generated from a JavaBean?
    Perhaps I'm totally off-track here ...

    Create a Web Service Data control using the WSDL url, generated from the PSFT end.
    The Data control creates successfully. The problem is:
    - In the service operation method (in the data control) the request parameter is shown as an Object.
    - The entry under the service operation parameter tree, is 'paramater'
    The data control looks like:
    - <datacontrolname>
    - <serviceOperationName>_parameters
    - parameter
    - CAREER
    - CLASS_NBR
    - INSTITUTION
    - SUBJECT
    - TERM
    - <serviceOperationName>(Object)
    - Parameters
    - parameter
    - Return
    - <Return type>
    The return type shows up fine, with collections in hierarchy of a depth of tree.
    How do I create a parameter form for this data control.

    Hi,
    In this usecase , you can DnD the <serviceOperationName>_parameters as an ADF from. Then DnD the operation as a method. The methods input arg value is automatically set to the parameterIterator.currentRow.DataProvider. This works fine.

  • How to call a report via a URL, showing a parameter prompt, but no controls

    Hi,
    I want to be able to call a report online by passing in the URL to Portal. Want to show a prompt for a parameter value and nothing else, until the parameter is entered. I can get the report to display the parameter and the controls, and I can get it to display without the parameter and without controls. However, I can't seem to find a combination that enables me to prompt the user with a parameter, without showing any controls.
    Currently, I am showing the parameter and controls with this URL:
    http://{CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/Sector/Comments/Orders/Orders.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2FSector%2FComments%2FOrders%2FOrders.xdo&Order_No=&_xt=Orders%20and%20Shipments&_xf=html&_xmode=2
    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Phil,
    http://{CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/Sector/Comments/Orders/Orders.xdo?PARAMETER1=jjj&PARAMETER2=&_xmode=6
    You have to pass the parameters in the url inorder to display them in page.
    Note : PARAMETER1, PARAMETER2.
    jjj was the values passed to first parameter1 as default.
    null was passed to parameter2 as default
    use xmode=2 or xmode=6 , first one, gives extra report link , second one doesn't.

  • Reading POST-Request-Parameter-Values from WebDynPro now possible?

    Hello,
    in the past I always was disappointed that in WebDynPro there was no way to read POST-request-parameter-values directly after the call of a WebDynPro-Application.
    The only (documented) way to read / transfer request-data into an WebDynPro-application was via "URL query string parameters" in the request URL.
    The last week I forgot this restriction. I called my WebDynPro-application using a POST-Request-Parameter (cookie_guid) instead of an URL-parameter.
    After noticing my mistake, I was really surprised that the WebDynPro could read / shows the the POST-Request-Value.
    I didn't make any changes in the coding of my WebDynPro-Application (zvis_show_sso_cookie).
    After this cognition I built the following simple HTML-formular to analyse the behavior of the WebyDynPro by calling it with an URL-Parameter (cookie_guid=Url-GUID) together with the POST-Parameter (cookie_guid = Post-Value-GUID).
    After calling the WebyDynPro it reads / shows the "POST-Value" of the request !!!
    (Remark: If I made a simple refresh or type directly the URL "http://hg10762.vis-extranet.de:1080/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zvis_show_sso_cookie?sap-language=DE&cookie_guid=Url-GUID" in the browser, the same webdynpro reads / shows the URL-Parameter-Value).

    </body>
    </html>
    My questions:
    I there any documentation that describes the behavior of  WebDynPro after calling it by using POST-Parameter values?
    I believe in the past it wasn't possible to read POST-request-parameter-values in WD. Has SAP changed the functionality?
    Is the behavior I described in my example above mandatory?
    Regards
    Steffen

    As far as i know in general HTTP request  GET method is standard but in SAP POST is standard.  All the client request is passed as POST to the server in order to avoid the URL parameter length restriction in GET method.

  • Pass request parameter to portlet in jsp

    Hi,
    I wrote a simple PDK portlet that passes a request parameter to itself. Integrated in a portal page, the parameter passing works as intended.
    Integrated in a jsp using the Oracle taglib, the parameter passing does not work. Here is the code I am using:

    What did I do wrong?
    Regards
    Thomas

    I forgot to mention that the jsp is external and that I am using Portal 10.1.2.
    With internal jsps the parameter passing works fine.
    Amazingly portletRenderRequest.getRenderContext().getPageURL() contains the request parameter. It would be possible to extract it from the url. But I really don't want to do that.

  • How to show unhidden parameter in linked report in report manager in ssrs ?

    Hi,
    in my ssrs report1 i have added a image,if i click on that image it will redirect to report2 and it will take parameters from report1 automatically and all parameters are in report2 are hidden because it will consider report1 parameters,but here my requirement
    is
    in report2 i have total six parameters and all are hidden,i want to show the one of the hidden parameter(LOB) in report,so, i was set visibility property to visible, now i am able to see that one parameter(LOB).
    but after deploying the report in report manager,when i click on the image it is not showing the parameter(LOB)
    Do i need to change anything in image properties?please let me know
    Please help me with this issue how to show the that one particular parameter(LOB) in report manager which is unhidden?, it is an urgent requirement.
    here we are building reports on cube.
    Please let me know if you need more information.
    Thanks in advance,
    Naveen

    Hi Naveen,
    As per my understanding, since the purpose of a drill-through report is to pass the parameters from main report to the details report, we wouldn't want users to see or modify the parameters in the details report. Therefore, by default, the parameter pane
    is automatically hidden in the details report.
    In this scenario, we can try to use “Go to URL” instead “Go to report” option to work around this issue. If the parameters are multi-value parameters, we can use the expression to like below:
    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://server_name/reportserver?/Report_folder/Report_name&A=" &Join(Parameters!B.Value,"&A=") & "','_blank'))"
    If the three parameters are single-value parameters, we can use the expression to like below: ="javascript:void(window.open('http://server_name/reportserver?/Report_folder/Report_name&A=" & Parameters!B.Value & "','_blank'))"
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

  • Umlaut in request-parameter gets garbled

    hi,
    when i call a bsp-page on a webas 6.40 and add a request-parameter to the url with a german umlaut in it (like ?name=kölbl), i get a box (&#65533;) displayed instead of the correct umlaut when i print it's value to the html-output of that page. it doesn't matter wether the value is read via request->get_form_field or as an auto-attribute.
    did anyone face similar problems and solved it?
    thanks a lot,
    norbert

    hi dany,
    actually i escaped the url-string already, not by abap but by the javascript function escape(). but this seems not to work correctly (on ie6), so i changed it to a call of encodeURIComponent(), now it works.

  • Remove danger of using a request parameter in a JSP:include

    HI,
    I have a basic include where the filename is controlled by a request parameter:
    <%String fileName = request.getParameter("param1")+".jsp"; %>
    <jsp:include page="<%=fileName%>" flush="true" />This works fine but I am rather worried about the security as some can easily edit the URL to something like this:
    http://www.mysite.com/include.jsp?param1=../../../passwords
    Does anyone have any good security techniques that would strip out anything in param1 that could potentially be rather dangerous?
    Thanks

    Check/test the request parameter before using. Best way is to use a (controller) servlet for this.

  • Differentiating HTTP Request through a URL and a value change listener

    Version Details:
    Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 1 11.1.1.4.0
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.4.0
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923
    IDE Version: 11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Product ID: oracle.jdeveloper
    Product Version: 11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    ADF Business Components     11.1.1.59.23
    Java(TM) Platform     1.6.0_21
    Oracle IDE     11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Versioning Support     11.1.1.4.37.59.23
    Base Details:
    The Product, that a different team is working on (<i><b>which I cannot access, code, touch,...</b></i>), creates reports and essentially generates a URL with a bunch of parameters:
    http://<host>:<port>/myApplication/main.jspx?parameter1=value1&parameter2=value2...When the user clicks on an "Edit" button, a modal popup window is displayed (using jQuery) with an embedded iFrame with its source pointing to the above URL.
    The "myApplication" is an ADF application which brings up an ADF form based on the parameters. Once the user enters the data, validations occur and the data is written into a total of 3 different Tables in the Database. Once the operation is finished, the user closes the popup by clicking on the "X" button of the popup window, which essentially does "popup.*hide()*".
    Limitations:
    <li>Since there are varied combination of parameter values and associated ADF forms, taskflows is not* an option.
    <li>Since the logic of generating the ADF form is not straightforward, ADF BC is not* an option.
    <li>Since validations are based on the value change listeners, the managed bean has to be a session scope_ bean.
    Problem:
    When, for the first time, the user clicks on the Edit button with a particular set of parameter values, the corresponding ADF form is displayed and things work normal. Since the managed bean is under session scope, the form generated for the first popup window stays the same for any subsequent popup windows, even when the URL and its parameters are completely different. As I can not listen to the popup close event, I cannot invalidate my session either.
    I tried using filters in the web.xml to grab the request and apply the business logic. Due to the presence of multiple value change listeners (too many <tt>autosubmit=true</tt>), every value change listener triggers a request and so the business logic gets applied with every value change.
    After some tests, I deduced that the difference between the call from iFrame and the call from value change is the HTTP Request Method - GET for iFrame and POST for value change listener. So in my filter I apply the business logic when there is a GET request and not apply when its a POST request.
    Turns out, that is not a valid enough differentiation between the two requests being made. Sometimes, even the value change listeners are issuing a GET request.
    Question:
    *<font color="red">1</font>*. Is there a way to force the value change listeners to always trigger a POST request?
    *<font color="red">2</font>*. Is there a way to differentiate the requests originating from the other team's Product and those generated by my own value change listeners?
    *<font color="red">3</font>*. Is there a different approach, incorporating the above-mentioned limitations, to clear out the session scope each time when a request is made through iFrame? That is, whenever a request is made through the other team's Product?
    Edited by: user737922 on Apr 13, 2011 10:58 AM

    _(Temporary) Solution_:
    Summary:
    I am using the request parameter <b><tt>_adf.ctrl-state</tt></b> to differentiate between the HTTP requests that my application receives.
    Details:
    When I receive the request from the other team's Product, I receive a <tt>GET</tt> and a <tt>adf.ctrl-state</tt> value which I store into a local variable in my session-scoped managed bean. The <tt>adf.ctrl-state</tt> value stays the same for all requests (<tt>GET</tt> or <tt>POST</tt>) made from within my own application. It changes only when there is a new request from the other team's Product.
    Also, as my application is accessed through an iFrame, there is no possibility of the generated URL being modified by the end-user.
    For now it seems that the solution is appropriate but I am not fully confident if relying on the <tt>_adf.ctrl-state</tt> value is the best approach.

    Does anyone know the API to get the passed application parameter tkrough the request?  We can add request parameter to the WebDynPro iView.  I need to know how to retrieve it from WebDynPro.
    I tried below but it does not contain the parameters.
    Any help is much appreciated.
         HttpServletRequest request =((com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.adapter.core.IWebContextAdapter) WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter()).getHttpServletRequest();
    Or
         server = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("Server");
    Best regards,
    Fereidoon

    Helo Fereidoon
    here is another way to set parameters to URL and get the parameter value.
    to set parameters:
    String deployableObject = wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart().getDeployableObjectName();
    WDDeployableObjectPart dpObj = WDDeployableObject.getDeployableObjectPart(deployableObject,"deployableObjectPart",WDDeployableObjectPartType.APPLICATION);
    Map parameters = new HashMap();
    parameters.put("name","Mack");
    parameters.put("age","23");
    String url = WDURLGenerator.getApplicationURL(dpObj,parameters);
    to get parameter value:
    String URLParams = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter(
                      "name");

    Piyush.
    note: if u wish to pass values between two applications (IViews) use portal inventing.

  • Passing parameter through url to report

    Hi
    I'm sorry if this question already exist anywhere in forum i didnt found it.
    so my question is:
    CAN I PASS PARAMETER VIA URL TO REPORT USING WEBFORM
    i don have RAS(Because in beta version of 2008 is this not included)
    I tried
    http://localhost/CRWEB/Default.aspx?param0="value" ->here i'm prompt for value instead of showing report with set value
    and
    http://localhost/CRWEB/DocumentDoc.rpt?param0=krneki&init=html_page -> here i prompt to save rpt file
    so But both doesnt work!
    OR it is necessery to have RAS to pass parameters through url
    thanks for quick answer

    URL reporting and RAS are not available with CR2008. To view reports over the web you will need to use the Crsytal Reports for .NET runtime engine inside a .NET app. This engine is licensed with CR 2008.

  • How to pass request parameter to bounded task flow?

    Hi, this is probably a simple question, but just not sure how this should be done. I have a .jspx that contains an ADF region for a bounded task flow. The task flow has a required input parameter, e.g. objectId. I want to be able to pass a request parameter that's sent into the .jspx page to the task flow. For example, Test.jspx?id=123 should pass 123 for the objectId input parameter of the task flow.
    When adding the ADF region to the page, the Edit Task Flow Binding dialog prompted for a value for the objectId input parameter. I wasn't sure what I can put for the value so I just hard-coded something like 123 for now. So in the page definition file, sometihng like the following got added:
        <taskFlow id="testtaskflow1"
                  taskFlowId="/WEB-INF/taskflow/test/test-task-flow.xml#test-task-flow"
                  activation="deferred"
                  xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
          <parameters>
            <parameter id="objectId" value="123"/>
          </parameters>
        </taskFlow>I'm wondering is there some EL expression I can use for the parameter value that gets the value of the id request parameter passed into the .jspx? Thanks.

    you have to use it like.. #{bean.idValue} and in the getter of the id Value use it like
    private int idValue;
    //setter
    //getter
    public int getIdValue(){
              HttpServletRequest request =
                (HttpServletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
            int id = request.getParameter("id");
           return id;
    }
