Dont want i tunes library in my documents
I have installed i tunes onto my PC and dont want to store my music library in my documents/my music because i have been told that storing stuff on my documents will slow my PC down considerably. Can i change the default setting and put my library in another folder or is it preset to store in my documents??

Completely untrue. Windows is designed to keep your documents, including music, in that folder. Keeping them there will no more slow your system down than any place else on your system that you might want to keep them.
But if you really want to move your iTunes folder elsewhere, just drag the entire iTunes folder to your desired location. Then hold down the Shift key while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can select the iTunes library you want to use. Navigate to and select the iTunes folder in it's new location.

It looks like you may have to reinstall itunes.
There are multiple things you should uninstall (and in a certain order) according to apple.
Also, even thought your music and itunes library information should not be affected in the uninstall, I would strongly recomend backing it up. Go to where you keep your music files and make sure you back up everything in the folders "itunes" and "itunes music".

I was working on my project on imovie and when I was trying to share it.. it automatically closes and shows an error... im having trouble with syncing my ipod touch with my itunes library that i keep on a external hardrive. when i plug up my external hardrive that has all my songs on it, it doesn't sync to my ipod correctly. i have to copy and paste the songs to my ipod device when its connected. i dont want all the songs on there and i want to be able to manually control whats on my ipod. and id like to take some songs off of the ipod also but i want them still in my itunes library though. i usually check the songs i want on the ipod but it isnt working that way maybe because its a external hardrive?? i never had a problem with past ipods with my library on itunes but i ran out of space on my computer and had to transfer all of the songs to my external hardrive. please someone help me!! i thought it would be simple! but it isnt the case! i plug up my hardrive then my ipod, i press sync and nothing gets transfered unless i copy and paste them to the ipod. even though it says ipod syncing in progress! this is really confusing! please help me!! sorry if this is jumbled up and confusing..
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

I want to update to ios5 but I dont want to lose my photo library, what do i do?
I had to reformat my laptop, so all of the previously sync'd photos are in my photo library, not in my cameral roll.

thanksYou must be connected to the network you wish to forget. If you are, head to Settings -> Wi-fi and click the > next to the network you are currently connected to. At the top of the next screen is the button to "Forget this Network."

If you set it to Manually manage music, you can manually load music (drag and drop) from another iTunes library. However, you will not be able to sync automatically from any library, if it is set to Manually manage music.
The Manually manage music setting is on the iPod's Summary tab, when you select it in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. -

Ok i needed to flush my computer because i had a virus and i had to delete all my music is there a way i can get the library from my ipod onto the new itunes i downloaded because i dont want to have to download all the songs again
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases -

I am trying to do the same thing. The Trash can is grayed out. These videos were imported from my iPhone to the iPad mini, if that makes a difference. I really need to delete these as they are taking up too much space. I've read instructions, viewed tutorials, and they all assume the Trash/Delete button is available, but it isn't for these. hi, My i photo library is not opening up when I click it. What should I do? I have version 9.1 i photo 11. I dont want to upgrade to a higher version because I havent backed up my data. Just need support on how to open it up.
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

The songs will always appear on your iPad under the purchased tab. That is simply your purchased history and it is on your iPad for the convenience of you be able to download the music again if you want to.
What exactly are you trying to do? You can hide the songs by swiping across the cloud icon to bring up the Hide button if you like. -
