Dont you guys lose 3g signal on ur iphone 4s??
Im using my unlocked iphone4s in korea with SKT.
But the thing is my phone shows 3G mark always, however it doesnt work some times.
For example, when i sent a i-message with full bar, it sent as just message not i message.
At this time, if i used safari, my iphone would show the sign that "i have to connet with 3g or wifi", even my bar was full.
Only i have this problem?? Im wondering but i cant ask to other people cuz there is no people who use iphone4s yet in korea.
The issue seens to be addressed and mistery-solved by Apple.
I did the following steps and my 3G is back to normal, confirmed by a 20hrs normal usage:
(The trick was using iTunes to activation)
1. Plug phone via USB into iTunes
2. Change the backup mechanism to Local Computer, instead iCloud
3. Backup the phone on iTunes (just in case everithing fails)
2. Go to C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates(Windows) or /Users/[user]/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates (Mac) and delete all .ipsw files
3. Ask iTunes for a iPhone Restoration clicking on Restore button
4. Wait for new .ipsw file be downloaded through iTunes (it can take several minutes)
5. Let iTunes restore all software on iPhone (will install latest iOS version - 6.0)
(Here was the trick thing)
6. Just after iTunes notification for iPhone be reboted, unplug iPhone from computer, then, wait for Welcome just a couple of minutes to plug it again
7. Wait for welcome screen on iPhone, and do nothing.
8. When iTunes detect the iPhone, will prompt to configure as new iPhone or restore backup - do nothing again
9. At this point You will see Welcome Screen on iPhone auto-changing language and country location (I think the magic ocourred here. Something must be configured on APN or Baseband by iTunes at this point)
10. When iPhone reachs the Select WiFi Network screen just unplug it from iTunes and proceed with normal configuration using 3G (at this point my 3G was detected and was on full signal)
11. Finish the entire iPhone configuration (skip backup restoration from iCloud and iTunes)
I did this on both my iPhone and from a friend of mine and now 3G is working well. Maybe the activation throught iTunes, after a entire iOS 6 launch week, has provided some updated information and then there is no issues anymore.
Something that only just Apple can answer.

All media and apps on the device should already be in iTunes on the computer.
If you have forgotten the restrictions passcode, the ONLY option is to restore as new.
Then sync back any media, apps, contacts, etc back to the device.
You can not restore from backup as the restrictions passcode is included in the backup. -

You're being unrealistic. Apple has ever "right" to create any new version of their software for more recent devices only. At no time were you promised updates forever; what Apple advertised when you purchased your iPod is all you are entitled to. You received several updates to iOS, including some that (depending on when you purchased your iPod) delivered significant new features beyond what was available when the iPod was sold. It is impractical at best and in may cases impossible for all the new features to work on older models; the hardware in those older models just won't support all the features.
If you want the most current features in iOS, you'll need a more recent iPod. And if you do buy one, expect that at some point it too will no longer receive updates. -

If the photos are those that you've synced to the device from your computer then you will need to copy the directory that they are in on your computer. If they are photos that you've copied from your device to your computer theg you can also either copy their directory, or (if they are still on it) re-copy them from the device onto the new computer (photos to computer). -
I've been trying to upgrade to iOS5 for the past half day. I keep getting:
"An error occurred while backing up this iPhone (-50). Would you like to continue to update this iPhone?
Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPhone."
I think I have been on every forum the Internet has. This means:
-Yes, I have tried restarting my computer
-Yes, I have tried using a different USB port
-Yes, I have tried doing the whole DFU mode thing
-Yes, I have tried freeing up some drive space from both computer & iPhone
-Yes, I have tried removing MobileSync folder from AppData
-Yes, I have tried Airplane mode and Bluetooth Off
-and Yes, I think I have waited long enough....!
Please help.. I'm hopeless. lol.. and no i dont want to lose all content on my iphone

1. Cancel the update (with the backing up error, of course)
2. Do a manual backup
3. Do a manual restore (your password to unlock your backup file is your AppleID password, not your IPhone keypad password)
4. Now Update your phone. This time the backup should work.
5. After it is updated, it will automatically restore, if you choose to restore not to set up a new phone.
And yes, copy all your photos manually. Your backup probabally won't include photos.
If this still doesn't work, try to stop your anti-virus software. -
I have a problem with my iphone 4. My 3G always stays activated but I lose my network signal. The bars all get lost and I'm not able to receive / send sms, mms or phone calls. Could you guys please help me fix this problem? Ios 5.1.1
I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated. -
After I downloaded iOS7 and my iPhone turned off I keep getting this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I dont wanna lose some stuff from my iPhone.
During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup. -

If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, or you don't have a backup, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

As a long-time Palm-user (my last phone was a Treo 680, terrible form factor, good UI), I am really disappointed with the standard software on this phone. Memos and Tasks, which AFAIK were there and useful even on the first Newton's, have regressed beyond the point of usefulness now (solution: Toodledo and Done!, at least for now).
But ChrisBell: if you feel up for it, you could start tinkering. Many people love these phones so much they have started developing patches to solve the obvious problems skimmed over by developers. Try looking up "webosquickinstall" and "preware", and you will find over 300 patches and a lot of free software to help you out. I am not a computer wizard myself, but I am not scared of them either, and I have been able to make good use of all these extras made available by the community.

Dear All, I am doing my best to remain calm. I will jump right to the point. Please dont tell me to call assurion either. You sold the crap, you call Assurion. Ive been on hold long enough. Plus, I dont deal with assurion, ATT does. I did business with AT&T not Assurion. By the way You guys are A**holes. It is unethical for sales reps to sell insurance without mentioning that there is still a deductible. All they talk about is "it doesn’t matter if you throw it against the wall or lose it in a lake, you are covered. They need to mention that there is a deductible, and they also need to mention that after your first replacement the others will be refurbished and not new replacements. The reason I bring this up is that these unethical business practices make it hard on Sales people to sell add on warranties/insurance because of the bad name the end up getting due to these unethical actions by some.
My profession for 21 years now has been sales and sales management. You may ask, darn 21 years in sales and sales management, who does that? Only people who don’t withhold the whole truth or outright lie to customers. Further to my point, the behavior of these sales folks gives add on warranties and insurance plans, maintenance agreements a bad name and makes it more difficult for companies like AT&T among others to resell these add on services which generate so much extra income for the companies who sell them.

This is my Story...
About a week ago i was seddling into bed. I plugged my phone into my dock as usual, heard the vibrate telling that it was hooked up and charging properly. I went to bed, then woke up and went to grab my phone. I noticed it was only 94% the top right corner in the battery it didnt show the lightning bolt, which means its still charging. I never really thought anything of it at the time. by like 1:00 i looked at my phone, and it was already 50% I decided to plug my phone back into the charger. IT WOULDNT CONNECT!! i started to cry... what was i gunna do? that all my money spent on it! I tried my USB for my labtop, ive tried 2 different docks, and i also took it into Sasktel and they plugged it in to. After the day went by, my phone completly lost battery and... turned off!! thats when i started going into Sasktel etc. i was FREAKING out!!! (still am!)
All my phone will still do is when i press the power button it a picture of the red dead battery shows up, as well as a electricty cord sign, with an arrow to a lightning bolt. i know that means that it needs to be charged. Im so confused it still frashes and shows stuff on my phone.. so it cant be dead .. right? When i went to Sasktel, i got the worker to look at it. He shone a light in the bottom charging spot. he told me after like 5 minutes of looking in there that he can just barely see a super light pink olour on the "white" sticker. He told me it changes to red when it hits water, and moisture. but.... i nver got it wet. i just woke up with it like this. so, i sunno how that changed colour. im gunna call apple again tommorow and see what they say. i really hop someone can help me, i dont wanna loose all my pictures and contacts. i have some valueably stuff. 1,500 picture!!! :O sooo please! any idea is help, and i hope at least someone will try
So far, ive tried the trick where u hold the home and power button for 30 seconds. It showed the dead battery lightning bolt sign. And tried many different plugs. People say, that because its a little pink, its toast. i dont beleive that, cause, it worked alll day tell it finally died! no probablems at all. so i just need to get it backon again. ill tell you what apple says when i call. HELP

I have just updated my Ipad mini the latest version (so I am told) but it has stopped my I pad from working and it says that I have to restore it back to factory settings etc. and will lose my data as I dont know whether I have fully back up my photos which I dont wont to lose what do I do??????????????????
If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

I went to the apple store and they told me that my version of Itunes on my Ipod touch is like 20 versions behind. My mom just bought a mac and I want to update my software but I dont want to lose all of my music,movies,shows, and pictures. I no longer have the computer that I used to put all of the content on my ipod so I am scared that if I do the update I will forever lose my content. - Be aware that if you can/do update the iOS to the latest (4.2.1 for a 2G and 4.3.4 for a 3G) you may not be able to sync to the old computer since that computer will need the latest iTunes to see/sync with the update iPod. Yo need an Max with at least OSX 10.5.8.
You can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPod to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
You can use on of the third-party programs dicussed here to transfer other stuff:

Unless you can move/copy the iPod backup file to the new computer you will loose all app data and restore from that backup. That file is located:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
