Donwngrade Java 2 for version 1.4
Dear Sirs,
I need run an application 3270 Mainframe emulator, and it run only with Java 2 version 1.4. Not later.
My Mac OS X 10.4.10 has a later version, is it possible downgrade for 1.4 or emulate 1.4 in newer version to run 3270 emulator?

In Applications/Utilities/Java/ there should be a couple of utilities, maybe "J2SE 5.0 settings" (sorry, I'm not on a Mac at the moment to double check), that will allow you to change the default Java version to be used for applications.
Sorry for the vague directions, but I hope that gets you in the right area.

Issue: Clients complain of Forms hanging sometimes. Also the version that we are running seems vulnerable and therefore we want to move to the last update ie 6u43. We would really like to move to the latest release of Java ie 7 but I am not so sure whether it is even possible to do that.

Yes. Always keep the default settings unless you have a specific reason not to.
If you are a heavy user of Java programs or applets, you may need to clear the cache files after Java updates because the old caches may interfere. -

We are using Tomcat which ships with SDK version 1.5.0_12, I know that updating this to a later version can result in a considerable performance boost for Infoview and its supported applications especially webintelligence.Hi Bashir, That's interesting you're using a relatively up to date version of the java SDK. Business Objects documentation states that versions up to 1.5.0_xx are supported. Did you notice any improvements in performance of the system by using the later version 1.6.0_17 ?. There are generally very significant improvements in successive updates of the SDK in term of memory management, reliability and other general bug fixes, so it's something that we will take into consideration.

Correct version of Java SDK for Red Hat 4 ES on x86_64
I need to install the Java SDK for Red Hat 4 ES on x86_64 and I'm unable to find the correct version to download.
Note 716604 says to download 1.4.2_13 at java.sun.com but the I can't find the Linux x86_64 bit version. Note 941595 is for Windows and Solaris only.
Red Hat's site mentions two versions; java-1.4.2-ibm and java-1.4.2-bea. I cannot find any SAP notes that mention those names. Has anyone used these successfully on Red Hat 4 x86_64?
Does anyone know where I can download the correct version of Java SDK?

The Managed System PIM~JAVA does not fulfill the Diagnostics Prerequisites
Details:
The definition of Technical System PIMJAVA is not correct: "PIMJAVA": Java Dispatcher "PIMJAVA784915620" not expected for versions higher than 7.10."
System PIM ist SAP NW 7.3.

I am using Windows 7 premium 64-bit. I have uninstalled Java completely through Windows program manager. There is no Java in my list of plugins. Every time I update my plugins I get the following message - "Missing JAVA? For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version." I cannot find Java anywhere on my computer. Checked every troubleshooting website I can find but there seems to be no solution.

if so, you can probably safely dismiss this warning since it's likely a mistake. when java isn't present, the site will give that warning message though a webpage cannot detect if this because of java being blocked or if it isn't even installed on the system. -

ManishI maybe wrong, but I don't think there is. iBooks was only released in January 2010 and (from memory) I'm fairly certain iBooks always needed 4.0 or later.
More to the point though, what "possible problems" are you referring to? There are plenty of people who have downloaded 4.0 and now iOS4.1 without any problems at all. I'm one of them. Don't let "horror stories" in this forum put you off, no one posts a new topic with the title "I've had no problems". (That would probably be identified as the world's most boring post if it existed!)

we are using NWDI to manage Java-Source (full Scenario with Tracks..).
How can I use NWDI to manage Non-Java-Objects (Texts, PHP,..) and what DC-Type do I have to use in NWDS, so that there is no build or the build works without error when checking in and "activating" the objects?

there is no dedicated DC type for "non-Java stuff", but you can use an ordinary Java DC for that. The DC build generally cares only for declared Source and Package Folders (check the DC metadata). All other directories of a DC are ignored. The build will run for such a component, but will recognise that there is nothing to do. Activation will just integrate your files from inactive to active workspace.

At the Plugin area in FF6 there is no Java Plugin available, even after a search.
I have Java 1.6.0 installed in the OS at:

Java 7 Web start fails to download Java 1.6 version
Sorry for the almost exact duplication of a previous thread, but that was closed (Java 7 Web start fails to download Java 1.6 version
When launching an application requiring Java 1.6 with a Java 1.7 web start it fails when it tries to download 1.6 with the following message:
"Unable to download http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.6.0/1.6.0_29-b11.xml for installation"
Problem only seems to occur on Windows 7 (64 bit), seems fine on Windows XP.

Value to be entered for Version type while populating metadata into Plannin
Hi
I have extracted the version dimension from my outline.
Now i need to push it into Planning 11. I have reversed the planning dimension 7 using the version dimension to push value.
After extract, the version type comes under UDA as "Standard bottom up, Public". I split the string into 2 columns as version type & other as UDA.
I mapped the version type column at source to version type (in planning) at target.
On executing the interface, it generated the following error log:
Final Version,Version,,Never Share,,,,Public,Standard Bottom Up,~,Cannot load dimension member, error message is: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid value for field Version Type: Standard Bottom Up.

What value should be entered for version type??

Installing the Sun Java Plug-in, version 1.6.0_19
The Sun Java Plug-in is required to run the WebLogic version of this workbench. To install:
Download the file jre-6u19-windows-i586.exe and execute it.
On the license terms screen, select Custom setup and click Accept.
If you want to change the default installation directory, click Change and specify a different directory. Once the installation directory is set, click Next.
Click Next to accept the default browser registrations.
Disabling Auto-Update Capability
By default, the Java Control Panel is configured to automatically download and update to newer releases of the Java Plug-in as they become unavailable.
It is advisable to turn off this feature so that compatibility between the Java Plug-in and the workbench is maintained. To turn off automatic updates:
Open the Windows Control Panel, and click Java. The Java Control Panel displays.
Click the Update tab.
Under the Update Notification area, deselect Check for Updates Automatically.
"Java Update - Warning" dialog box displays. Click Never Check.

The runtime must match the architecture of the browser you're using; so if it is a 64 bits browser, you MUST have a 64 bits runtime. If it is a 32 bits browser you MUST have a 32 bits runtime. You can install both and cover all cases.

Error in Java Mapping for Single XML conversion
We are working on ABAP Proxy --> SAP PI 7.1 --> SOAP (Synchronous Scenario).
