Dopey question-Red text corrections

Hey,
As I said, its dopey.
I like to write and use spellchecker. However the alert color, bright red, annoys the heck out of me. It breaks my concentration and is somehow accusatory. Is there anyway I can change the color? I realize this is system wide behavior, so there may be no way to change it at all. But if there is, could someone let me know?
Thanks

Lol, I have to admit I never thought of that.
I was hoping to change the color to a non-condemning green but that was pretty good. When I absolutely can't take the red anymore I'll follow your advice. Thanks!
Just thought that some Terminal Wizard might have a simple straightforward command to put in. But I think I'm starting to nitpick. After all, I'm the type of guy who is still sore that I can't replicate cheeseburgers to the side of my monitor...

• Dopey question about meters

I don't understand how the meters work in Logic. I can have only one track recorded, peaking at 0dB, no effects or presets or other channel strip plug-ins, and the "Out 1-2" meter will be peaking WAY higher...in the red. Where is the extra gain coming from?
Any help/suggested tutorial is much appreciated!
Thanks!

Not seeing that here, I have a direct correlation between the output metering of a recorded track (peaking at -6db) as I do with my main stereo 1-2 output master, both show a -6db peak.
You do have the master fader set to 0-db, correct?
By the way... no need put dopey or stupid in the subject line, if your question is truly dumb, most everyone will know it. Your question wasn't and now you're made yourself out a dopey question asker.

• Red-Eye Correction Tool Missing Sliders in 2.5

I just upgraded from 2.4 to 2.5, build 605155. The sliders are missing from the Red-Eye Correction Tool.
Any idea where they went?

The text should replaced by the sliders after you have clicked on the red area. If it doesn't, the area you clicked on doesn't match the parameters for the tool (unusual if red or near red) or the Lightroom preference file is corrupted.
You can try trashing the existing Lr preference file, which is located as described at the following link http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358041?tstart=0

• Offline files - Red text.

Browsing samples. Unable to play samples in red text. User guide states that these are offline files - no mention of what an offline file is or where it's located. Can someone please help me unlock the mystery of the red text. Thanks.

...oops! If I had of bothered to read some of the other posts I would have discovered the solution. A question I have now is how large is the additional file?

• Safari not rendering Arabic text correctly

I have Safari 1.0.3 running on Mac OS 10.2.8 and it will not render Arabic text correctly. Isolated letters appear at about half the correct size, which makes pages readable but only with considerable difficulty and annoyance.
I saw some solutions here that related to removing Microsoft fonts, but I removed all fonts from Home:Library:Fonts and quite and restarted Safari, and the problem persists. I also downloaded Firefox 2.0 and the same issue occurs - with the added feature that the tab titles on Firefox also display this anomaly, whereas tab titles on Safari render Arabic correctly.
And by the way, if this issue can be resolved, can safari and other apps be got to use a font other than the extremely ugly and hard-to-read default?
iMac Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Thanks Tom. The problem though is not that letters
that are meant to be connected are coming out
isolated; letters that are meant to be isolated, e.g.
initial alif, waw, ra and final letters after alif,
waw ra, are displaying way too small.
Sorry I misunderstood the problem.
Do you think it is worth trying your troubleshooting
tip no. 18? And do you have any idea what sort of
issue could be behind it that it would affect Firefox
too?
Yes, you may as well try no. 18. That tip, which really has no logic to it, reflects the fact that voodoo is sometimes required to get Jaguar to display Arabic correctly in browsers. Panther was a tremendous improvement in that regard.

• Has anyone experience a bug with red eye correction in LR 5?

No matter what I do, anytime I try to use the red-eye correction tool, I get the message "Unable to find red eye". Even in pictures where the red eye is huge and clearly visible. Has anything changed in LR 5 that would cause this? I have Red Eye Correction enabled. Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm a rather new LR user, so I'd be grateful for someone pointing me in the right direction before I file a bug report.
Thanks!

You bet .

In LR 4, the tools seemed so much more forgiving. In LR 5, it is incredible sensitive.
I don't think there have been any algorithmic changes in red-eye, Lr5 vs. Lr4 (certainly none mentioned by Adobe, nor in Victoria Bampton's very thorough list of changes in Lr5, nor that I've noticed in the forums...), so if it is behaving differently (you sure it's not you? ), then it sounds like something is a-wonk now in your Lr5 (or was a-wonk before in your Lr4 ).

• Red eye correction

I am a brand new pse user, trying to understand the 'versions' concept. Everything I have read suggests saving your edits as a version of the original. Would there be a downside to overwriting the original with red eye corrected version instead of another copy?

Yes, particularly if you are using the auto red eye tool, which often corrects bright white teeth, light soures, etc. in place of the red eyes. If you really want to lose the original (not recommended) you can use the red eye tool in the editor and set PSE to save over the existing file. But a couple of years from now, when you have more sophisticated skills to use rather than the red eye tool, you may regret not being able to go back and redo them.

• Red-Eye Correction Malfunctioning

When I try to use the Red-Eye correction tool in iPhoto, it either doesn't work at all, or it will correct a random spot of the picture instead of the eyes. Any clues?

Try this basic fix: trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

• Red eye correction in elements 12 corrects everything but the eye. Had this problem on previous Mac.

How can I get the elements 12 red eye correction to target the iris? I can correct photo in Iphoto program in Mac os x, version 10.9.2.

Drag a box around it with the tool.

• Where is the red eye correction tool now?

Can't find it anywhere. Why did they remove it? (iphone 6)

In the Photos.app. When you select a photo and click "edit", there is an eye icon at the upper border of the panel. That is the "red eye" correction tool.

• Red eye correction not saving, Red eye correction not saving

I open iphoto and try to auto-fix red eye in one picture but it's not an option. So I manually fix it but once I hit "done" the red eye correction does not save. I have iphoto'11.

I hit "done" the red eye correction does not save.
Perhaps your library is corrupted. Try to repair your iPhoto library.
Launch iPhoto with the key combination ⌥⌘ held down and try the first aid options "repair permissions" and "repair database", if necessary also "rebuild database". Before you do any repairing, make sure that the backup of your iPhoto library is up to date.

• Red eye correction generating strange grid pattern in viewer

Hi everyone,
For the last week Aperture 3.5.1 has been adding a strange grid with a repeating pattern in my images when I edit them in the viewer. Here is a screenshot:
The strange pattern is near the top right and appears to be of my son's eye. The pattern appears in multiple images and always seems to be one of the eyes of the subject! It occurs when I use the red eye correction.
If I toggle off certain adjustments, not just the red-eye adjustment, the pattern goes away. However, once I turn on certain adjustments the pattern returns or moves to another part of the screen! If I do turn off red eye correction the grid goes away.
So let me summarize here:
If I use red eye correction and I use ANY other adjustments then I will get the strange eye grid.
It appears if I don't use the red eye correction the eye grid does not appear.
I have tried repairing permissions, repairing the library, rebuilding the database, and reinstalling Aperture. I've also tried moving the library to another mac and I can replicate the issue on that mac as well, however, not as often? I also downloaded memtest and ran it on my mac and it said all my ram is fine. I have also tried shortening my library and I can duplicate the issue in a small library with few pictures.
I'd really like to use the red eye correction without the strange grid! When I export the images the grid does not appear.
I am using a Mac Pro mid 2010 with 14 gig of memory. The second machine I tried is a macbook pro laptop using 8 gig. I'm really at a loss here. Please help! Thanks again

Sounds like you have done everything but delete your user preferences. This often resolves UI issues.
Details are on Apple's Aperture trouble-shooting page.

• Red eye correction creates a black eye

I am using iPhoto 6.0.6 (322) and when I use red eye reduction the command creates a blue-black blob of color that not only covers the red eye, it covers the eye socket and then some. I have used red eye reduction hundreds of times and this is something new. Any ideas out there?
Thanks
Ken

Ken,
There is a hidden feature to control the red-eye and retouch tools:
Type Caps lockControl9
Undo caps lock
Click on Retouch or the Red-Eye Removal tool.
The tab key will toggle between cursor types: a cross or a circle for Red-Eye removal tool, and between darken and lighten in the Retouch tool.
The \[ and \] keys decrease or increase the size accordingly.
NOTE: Using the { and } keys will will change the value next to the circle and that represents the degree of change or intensity that the Retouch tool imparts on each pass. To get a lighter pupil with the red-eye tool, Shift-Click inside the circular cursor.
The keystrokes are awkward at first, but I've found that with this method I get better red-eye correction with iPhoto than I do with Photoshop Elements 4.
Regards.

• Red eye correction doesn't work

I am sure I am missing something but I can't make the red eye correction work.
On MacBook in the Develop module, I click on the red eye which becomes red. I draw the square around the pupil but I can't make it to stay there. I try clicking on "pupil size" and "darken" but they don't respond. What am I missing? Thanks for you advice

<span style="font-size: 90%>In the ADOBE Photoshop Help section it states:

By clicking directly in the center of the pupil you will redeuce the "red" from the eyes.
