Dear Experts,
I have 500+ Win7 VMs in Hyper-V 2012 R2. I'd like provide my guys to access these Win7 VMs' console using Virtual Machine Connection (VMConnect) w/ Enhanced Session Mode. My guys are simple workers. I assume they may execute a bat file(vmconnect [<Servername>
<VMName>]) from the command prompt, then access their Win7 VM console and copy/paste into the virtual machine. So, there may be 500+ Win7 VMs are interacting with like physical computers. My question is if Hyper-V 2012 R2 have limitation when the
consoles of 500+ Win7 VMs are connecting at the same time. Please kindly offer some guide. Really appreciated for the help!

Well, the server has stayed up and running.
The Only thing I can put it down to is that I disabled a scheduled task that is supposed to cause the server to BSOD/memory dump when a specific event ID happens. We did this several months ago as GRT generation in CA D2D backup was causing the server to
become unresponsive and required "Turn Off" in Hyper V Manager. We scheduled a util called "NotMyFault" which was supposed to trigger when an event ID happened only during the D2d backup. That fault was cured long ago by an undocumented
config of afstor.ini, but the scheduled task was left in place. The task never triggered - or at least there were no events showing it had triggered and in the task history, the last time was a month ago. Funny though how it was the ONLY change I made yesterday
and the server stayed up. I will monitor for the next few days, and if the server is OK, then must conclude that it was the cause. I suppose I could re-enable it at some point to prove the point.

Running 2 copies of VS 2012 Pro at the same time -- question

I have two projects that I want to work on at the same time (neither shares files from the other so they are independent) -- one is actually a class library (DLL) and the other is an application, but the application doesn't point to the compiled DLL automatically
(I have to manually copy it to the application's folder to use the compiled version so they are not directly interacting with eachother in any way).
So, I've found that you can run multiple instances of VS with different projects open... but here's my problem: sometimes it loads files from one project in the other IDE window, and causes issues when I flip back and forth between instances of VS (basically
keeps telling me that the document was updated outside of VS -- as in, the other IDE instance--and needs to be reloaded).
So, long story short, it displays the errors and source code file in whichever instance of VS I'm currently working with (or whichever instance is test "running" the app; so for example, if I"m working on the app and an error in the class
lib occurs, it displays the source code files in the IDE that has the app open, not the class lib. So if I flip back to the class lib instance of VS, I get the warning messages about files being updated outside of VS).
Is there a way to tell VS to keep the two separate or just display an error and not try to open the source code file that has the error when one occurs?
It's more of an annoyance than anything, but I would like to be able to flip back and forth without issues because now that I've found you can have multiple instances open, I can get more done faster (with the exception of this "problem").
Ideas?

My first thought is that, since only one of your projects is an application (the other is a DLL) why not have a single solution that builds both projects and work on them in a single instance of Visual Studio?
I ask this because you cannot launch a DLL project directly. And if you only ever plan to run code in your DLL by running the exe, then just have them in the same solution and use them in the same IDE.
What is the benefit to you of having two separate instances of Visual Studio running? (Particularly given that it's giving you a headache while debugging.)
You can "flip back and forth" as you specified, but only if you're debugging two different processes -- each IDE would need to be debugging its own process. If you know what exception you're expecting because you're debugging a particular
issue then you can leave the debugger detached, and then when you get the unhandled exception you can choose which running instance of visual studio to attach (or select to launch a new instance.)
As far as I can tell, it sounds like you are debugging a program composed of multiple projects (an exe and a dll). They should simply be in the same solution and you can debug them together in a single IDE. You can open windows from either
project. Not sure what having two IDEs is getting you.

It depends on your infrastructure and design.
My DP servers got mirrored mechanical disks and a Gbit nic. We like to run about 10 clients every 2 hours from them. That is enough time to apply our custom image, apply any extra appps and patches.
Since we got one of those servers on about 100 locations it means that in the best case I can deploy about 1000 systems every two hours.
That's my technical limit BUT that's not the real limit.
More important is how many users with newly installed systems can your organization handle. There will always be some machines that fails and needs to be fixed (how many non productive users can you have at the same time?). Some users will call hellpdesk
regardless of instructions, onscreen information, user training and so on. How many calls can your helpdesk handle? There will be requests for extra apps, changed screen resolution, left handed mice settings and so on, maybe printer configs? Same thing here
- how many of these cases can your support handle?
Those are the "soft" limiting factors and so far (been doing this for about 15 years now) the "soft" limits have always been lower than the technical limit

Can SCVMM 2012 R2 exist with SCVMM 2012 SP1 in the same AD domain

We currently run System Centre 2012 SP1 (SCOM, SCCM, SCSM and SCVMM 2012 SP1).
There is no plan to upgrade the System Centre suite to R2 for another 6 months.
But we do want to use SCVMM 2012 R2. I don’t plan to use SCVMM 2012 R2 with SCOM or SCCM 2012 SP1.
Can I build a separate SCVMM 2012 R2 in the same Active directory domain or forest (on a new server, with a separate database and with different service accounts)?

WDS 2012 R2 - Cannot PXE multiple clients at the same time

This is my first post on here so I apologize if this is the wrong place. I work for a school district and we are implementing WDS 2012 R2. We've been extremely satisfied with the speeds and ease of use through unattend files. However, for
the past month I've been looking for a possible answer to a problem that has plagued us from day one of implementation.
So here's the problem:
I have a stand alone WDS server which is not a domain controller and is not our DHCP server. I have IP helpers and broadcast forwarders setup on the network. As well as option 66 and 67 in DHCP. So far so good right!
Well that's partially right. When we boot one client at a time to the WDS server. Everything works as intended. We can TFTP the necessary files from the WDS server. Everything boots up and we're off and running.
However, if we boot up two or more clients at the same time. The WDS server never responds to the traffic. The clients get their DHCP information. They start the referral and download from the WDS server, but get no response. I'm
really hoping that someone on here would have some insight of something I can try. I've about exhausted my list of peers and contacts. They're all stumped as well and were smart enough to stay with 2008 WDS.
I would prefer to stick with 2012 R2 since it's setup and working for the most part. With only this one hiccup.

I have tried everything on this forum and I am still unsuccessful in PXE booting multiple clients at the same time.
Multicast is enabled on the server, and it works for the clients. However, as stated in the original post. I cannot boot multiple machines at the same time. I can start them from the image selection screen around the same time though. So,
that appears to be working fine.

You can try one thing. Follow these steps:
1. On your Mac, turn on AirPlay Mirroring and connect it to the Apple TV, so audio and video will stream from the Apple TV.
2. Turn off the sound of the TV where you have connected the Apple TV.
3. Then, make sure that you have turned on the AirPlay speakers. Then, open System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the external speakers, so sound will stream from these external speakers.

I was having the same issue even with entering the following:

I noticed the image which was running on the switch was correct without the ".bin" at the end:

I have installed Windows 2008 Enterprise edition. Updated all patched from windows updated. Add the Hyper-V role and installed Windows 2003 in one Virtual Machine and Windows 2008 in another. After the first VM installation itself i had the problem as the below error was coming ibn.

I have both the vm's created in different drives. E drive is my DVD drive....
I renamed them,Reinstalled OS, Created a new set of vm's after the first i get the error
It works fine if i stop 1 vm and install the other or stop 1 and start the other...Running both at the same time is the problem

Not able to keep two OEM ( 11g) Database Console open at the same time.

I am running into issues when I try to keep two instances ( TEST and PROD) of Oracle 11g on the same server open in OEM Database Console.
The issue is when i try to loginto the 2nd OEM database control page on a new tab of internet Explorer ( when the Ist DB console is open in another tab), it close the first one and open the 2nd instance.
Also trying opening two seperate IE sessions ( without tabs) , still its logs out the Ist instance.
Any idea why this is happening and How could I have both the OEM DB consoles open at the same time. please advice

There are two types of Database Enterprise Managers, one is Database Control(free tool) and another is Grid Control(paid tool). The one that you are using is a free tool with the limitation that at one time, there can be only one database which can be managed by it. For each database managed by DBC, there is a different port number assigned and only when you use DBC at that specific port number, you can manage the said database. You can check the initially assigned port numbers for the databases in the file *$OH/install/portliist.ini*. You can have a read about about it over here,

The Grid control can manage all the databases under one window only but its a paid version of EM so it can't be used without a proper license.

It will support all three at the same time. So long as you have the A radio installed. As for b/g, you need to make sure that you have the B data rates enabled for them to work.

WRT54GS Wont support Two XBOX 360s online at the same time

Just bought new Linksys WRT54GS to support two XBOX 360s live simultaneously. Can't log both on at same time. It kicks first 360 off when second one tries to log on. How can I fix this and have both NAT types open?

I'm having the same issue. I have comcast as ISP, Linksys modem BEFCMU10 V3, going to a Linksys router WRT54GS V4, two desk tops hardwired to the router, TiVo with a wireless and two Xbox 360s with Xbox wireless adaptors. Each Xbox 360 has a different Live account, one has mine the other has my daughters. Either by itself goes live just fine but as soon as the second unit is brought on the first kicked off. If left on they will take turns dropping off from Xbox Live. One night we alternately texted/chatted from both of our Xboxs to the same third party. When he had signed off for the night and showed be "offline" on my unit my daughters unit still showed him "online" until we shut her Xbox off. In addition the NAT always seems to change. Some times its open, others it's medium or strict. This seems to be related to having one or both Xboxs on. I found an article on segmenting your network by using two wireless routers and running the Xboxes through the router closest to the modem and everything else through the second down line router. I haven't tried it yet. Anything I'm missing? Something else I should try? I've talked to the Geeks and some tell you can't so it and others tell me sure it will but they want $$. I've talked to other gamers that tell they've had two Xboxs on Live with no problem.

Is Cleartype able to support both RGB and BGR sub pixel panel displays at the same time?

I am using 2 27' LED displays on my PC. One has RGB sub pixel, the other has BGR sub pixel.
I have problem to tune the font using Cleartype. I have tried to tune all displays a few times and always get the following result.
If I use the RGB one as the primary display, the font on the RGB display looks ok but the font on the BGR display looks weird after tuning using cleartype.
If I use the BGR display as the primary, the font on the BGR display looks ok but the font on the RGB display looks weird after tuning using cleartype.
Basicly, the after tuning with Cleartype, the font on the Primary display looks good but on the other looks weird.
I have also tested with single display setup. i.e. connect only the RGB sub pixel display or the
BGR sub pixel display.
ClearType tuning works well for single display setup no matter which display I have connected.
But once I connect the 2nd display and tune using Cleartype, the font on the Primary display looks good but on the other looks weird. (The same as above)
To be more specific, the RGB display is Philips 278C4 (connect using HDMI), the BGR display is Dell P2714H (connect using DisplayPort. I have also tried DVI. DisplayPort or DVI give same result).
My system is Win 8.1 Pro x64 JA-JP with all latest patches installed, and my graphic card is nVidia GTX 760, with the latest driver installed.
I suspect this is due to one display has RGB sub pixel panel, and the other has BGR sub pixel panel, which means
Windows ClearType need to take care both RGB and BGR for at the same time. I am not sure if this is fully supported by Windows 8.1 ClearType.
Is there any solution or workaround to make the font on both displays looks nice?

Hi,
Windows includes several technologies to render text on the screen. These include Windows GDI, Direct Write and Windows Presentation Foundation.
Windows GDI is limited to using one set of ClearType settings per system
while the other two support different settings per display.
It depends. Most LCD screens have a RGB striping order. A very small number have a striping order of BGR.

First restart your mac and try again.
It could be
that the router and the TC are interfering wirelessly with each other.
You can check this by pressing the option key while clicking on the wireless icon on your screen
Open Wireless Diagnostics
enter your user password
Press CMD 4 then Scan
You will see all the wireless channels being used in your location and you can check if they are on the same channel
Make the SSID for the TC simple like MyTC
Set 5Ghz to auto
Update the TC
Try again

Yes, if the AirPort Express is extending the wireless signal produced by another Apple router. The Express cannot wirelessly extend a network produced by a non-Apple router.
In addition to extending the network and connecting a printer, AirPlay can also be enabled on the AirPort Express, with all services operating simultaneously.
Please note that only the print function will work if you connect an All-in-One type device to the USB port on the Express. Advanced features like copy, scan, mainentance, etc are not supported when an All-in-One device is connected to the USB port on an AirPort router.

Can InterConnect support D3L and XML at the same time?

In file Adapter.ini, ota.type can only be one of D3L and XML. Does it mean InterConnector can only support either D3L or XML parsing at one time?
If I have different type of incoming files, I need to install at least two interconnectors to work, right?

ASM diskgroup redundancy and SAN redundancy are not the same and work completely different. You cannot use ASM extern and high redundancy at the same time.
A SAN does not know anything about Oracle database files and redundancy is usually accomplished by RAID. ASM is not RAID and does not duplicate complete disks. ASM data redundancy is based on disk failure groups and file extents. ASM knows about Oracle database files and automatically adjusts the stripping of data, which a SAN cannot. ASM also has the advantage that the storage size can be dynamically adjusted while the storage is online, without having to rebuild your storage devices. Rebuilding or extending a RAID based SAN solution usually means to reinitialize the storage.
Beware of SAN snapshot and replication features as they may not provide complete backup or redundancy if you loose the complete storage.
