Dose javax.xml.rpc.encoding.XMLType has anything to represent void type

Hi All,
Is it possible to use XML types to represent a void(type).
In other words, dose "javax.xml.rpc.encoding.XMLType" has anything to represent void type.
Here is my code snippet...
At the Service Endpoint i have a service
  public void invokeBatchProcess(String actType)
    throws   java.rmi.RemoteException; At the Web-Service Client side i'm invoking this webservice using DII.
Not sure how to set the return type to Call object.
Client Code:
ServiceFactory serviceFactory = ServiceFactory.newInstance();
//Service Name
Service service = serviceFactory.createService(new QName(
          IConstants.DEFAULT_SERVICE_NAME));
//Port Name
QName port = new QName(IConstants.DEFAULT_SERVICE_PORT);
Call serviceCall = service.createCall(port);
serviceCall.setProperty(IConstants.URI_ENCODING_PROPERTY,IConstants.URI_ENCODING);
serviceCall.setProperty(Call.SOAPACTION_USE_PROPERTY,new Boolean(true));
//Target EndPoint
serviceCall.setTargetEndpointAddress(IConstants.DEFAULT_URL);
//OperationName
serviceCall.setOperationName(new QName(IConstants.DEFAULT_SERVICE_OPERATION_NAME));
serviceCall.addParameter(
"arg1",new QName("http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/","string"),
ParameterMode.IN);
//How to use XMLType to represent void ???
serviceCall.setReturnType(????????) Greatly appreciate your help.

Hello-
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Given the following dii client you will not that the return parameter does not need to be set on the call object-
The call is invoked in the normal way using the invoke method-
the invokeOneWay method performs calls asynchonously and no soap message is returned to the client-
The client below that has a void return parameter does
deserialize a soap response message, but the message contains no data.
public static void main(String[] args) {
try {
ServiceFactory factory =
ServiceFactory.newInstance();
Service service =
factory.createService(new QName(BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE,qnameService));
QName port = new QName(BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE, qnamePort);
Call call = service.createCall(port);
call.setTargetEndpointAddress(endpoint);
          call.setProperty(Call.SOAPACTION_USE_PROPERTY,
new Boolean(true));
call.setProperty(Call.SOAPACTION_URI_PROPERTY, "");
call.setProperty(ENCODING_STYLE_PROPERTY, URI_ENCODING);
               call.setProperty(Call.OPERATION_STYLE_PROPERTY, "rpc");
                    HelloClient client = new HelloClient();
                    client.sayHelloNoReturn(call);
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
     void sayHelloNoReturn(Call call1) {
try {
          call1.setOperationName(new QName(BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE, "sayHelloVoid"));
          boolean b = call1.isParameterAndReturnSpecRequired(
     new QName(BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE, "sayHelloVoid"));
               if(true) {
                    //call1.setReturnType(new QName(NS_XSD, "string"),
                    //          java.lang.String.class);
                    call1.removeAllParameters();
                    call1.addParameter("String_1", new QName(NS_XSD,
                         "string"), java.lang.String.class, ParameterMode.IN);
                    Object[] params = { "foowho" };
                    call1.invoke(params);
} catch (Exception e) {
     System.out.println("Caught exception: " + e.getMessage());
e.printStackTrace();

  • NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/Stub

    Hi,
    I have a problem running the example Hello JAX-RPC application that comes with the JWSDP-1.1. I can run the application ok using ant, but if I try to run the program from the command line without using ant, I get NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/Stub
    The command I'm using is
    java hello.HelloClient
    I have updated my CLASSPATH to include all the jar's that are used in the build.xml file. My CLASSPATH should be complete as I used the output from ant show-props to get it.
    Thanks.

    I checked the jaxrpc-api.jar file using
    jar -tf jaxrpc-api.jar
    The contents (lsited below) does not contain javax/xml/rpc/Stub

  • Javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException ???????

    I have deployed a simple web service using Apache Tomcat 6.0 and Axis 1.4 in Windows XP. Now the server is very simple:
    [code]
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    HelloWorld.java
    This is our web service
    public class HelloWorld
    public String getHelloWorld(String id)
    String retName="";
    try
                   File indexFile = new File("index.txt");
                   retName=indexFile.getAbsolutePath()+id;
              catch(Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
         return retName;
    [/code]
    Now if the client doesn't send any parameters then everything works well. But as sson as I try to send a parameter to the server, I get the following error:
    "javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: Number of parameters passed in (0) doesn't match the number of IN/INOUT parameters (1) from the addParameter() calls"
    Why is this happening??? My client is also very simple:
    [code]
    package dummyC;
    import java.util.*;
    import org.apache.axis.client.Call;
    import org.apache.axis.client.Service;
    import org.apache.axis.encoding.XMLType;
    import org.apache.axis.utils.Options;
    import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
    import javax.xml.rpc.ParameterMode;
    import javax.xml.rpc.*;
    public class DummyC {
    @param args
         public static void main(String[] args)
              try
              Service service = new Service();
              Call call = (Call)service.createCall();
              String endpoint ="http://localhost:8081/axis/HelloWorld.jws";
              call.setTargetEndpointAddress(new java.net.URL(endpoint));
              call.setOperationName(new QName("getHelloWorld"));
              call.addParameter("param1",XMLType.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN);
              String output = (String)call.invoke(new Object[]{});
              System.out.println("Got result : " + output);
              catch(Exception e)
                   System.out.print("sssss: "+e.toString());
    [/code]
    Please guys, I need to solve this problem with in the next couple of days.
    Bye.

    Thanks.

    Great. thanks.
    However, I think you are using a new version of WLS JAX-RPC. The
    javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException.getLinkedCause() is not in my version (0.8).Is there
    a new version available.

    Hi Nick,
    set the following system property:
    weblogic.webservice.verbose=true
    while starting the client. This will print the xml soap message
    that is send/received by the client.
    Also you get to the actual exception by calling:
    javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException.getLinkedCause()

  • Web Service Model ---javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException

    Hi Experts,
                     I am working with webservices model Using NWDS 7.013. One application (webservice model) was developed in old portal server after that portal server was scrapped. XI server only available now. Currently i have a new server. I import into that application into My NWDS using the New server.
    Refering the below thread
    Re: Problem calling XI WebServices from WebDynpro Java
    I added following code in the component controller before execute the model
    req._setUser("username"); (eg. user_XI)
    req._setPassword("password"); (eg. password_XI)
    while executing the model in the component controller the following exception will be occured
    javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException
    How can i rectify this? anything i am going to create JCO in SLD or any configuration going to create Visual administrator? Please give me your valuable suggestions....
    Regards,
    P.Manivannan.

    Hi,
    Refer to thread Re: Web Service Error. which may be helpful.

  • Javax.xml.rpc included in orabpel.jar does not have "loadService"

    I have a class that uses orabpel.jar for Task service and invocation of BPEL.
    Now I made an web service proxy to call an ESB in the same project.
    The web service proxy uses javax.xml.rpc from the orabpel.jar which do not have the loadService method but the file:
    JDeveloper101310_HOME\webservices\lib\jaxrpc-api.jar\javax\xml\rpc
    have the loadService method.
    JDeveloper uses the orabpel.jar although above file is in the library and gives a compile time error of not finding the method "loadService".
    Any ideas ?

    When a web service proxy is created it automatically adds the library file..this is the problem: The project has two same libraries(one from orabpel.jar and other javax.xml,.rpc) and it chooses the one which does not have the loasdServices function i.e orapel.jar...
    is there a way that I can tell the project not to use that library but other one ?

    Regrdas,
    Kundan

    1. Build jar file with MAINFEST.MF and Export of Eclipse , which has content:
    suppose in folder:
    c:\client.jar ( client of web service )
    c:\contrib/lib/ axis apis
    Main-Class: com.MainClassName
    Class-Path: contrib\axis\jaxrpc.jar contrib\axis\activation.jar con
    trib\axis\axis.jar contrib\axis\axis.jar contrib\axis\commons-disco
    very.jar contrib\axis\wsdl4j.jar contrib\axis\saaj.jar contrib\axi
    s\soap.jar contrib\axis\commons-logging.jar contrib\axis\log4j.jar
    contrib\axis\mail.jar
    2. build jar with ant: make sure the their are at least one blank between
    values of Class-Path.
              <jar destfile="../Client/client.jar" >
                   <fileset dir="${build.dir}"/>
              <manifest>
              <attribute name="Built-By" value="${user.name}"/>
                   <attribute name="Main-Class" value="com.MainClass"/>
              <attribute name="Class-Path" value=" contrib\axis\jaxrpc.jar contrib\axis\activation.jar .. "/>
              </manifest>
              </jar>
    3. If you haven't pack you class file in jar, create a bat to set CLASSPATH
    exactly to all jars.
    Hope this helps

    I have a wsdl file from which i generated stubs and ties. I wrote my own interface and implementation class and depoyed it as web service. Now instead of using stubs generated from the deployed service wsdl, I am tring to use the client stubs that i generated using the existing wsdl file. But it is throwing an error
