Dot-Matrix Printers configuration.

Hi All,
Anybody has any documents on these (weired) Dot Matrix printers configuration. Am working on Japanese characters and the output of the printer behaves weiredly for 1 byte characrers and 2 byte charactre. So when I try to print using the same Layout Set (SAPScript), I get different positioning of the fields depending upon the bytes of characters.
So I want to know and would love to have the information for Dot Matrix problems and their resolutions in SDN.
Thanks
Anand

Is anyone having a idea of how to configure the Dot-Matrix printer with oracle Apps andFollow the same procedure of setting up any other printer (setup the printer at the OS level, register the printer in the application, and restart the CM).

  • Use dot matrix printers for printing text reports in Reports 10g

In Forms 6i, customers had the option to use dot matrix printers for printing text reports.
I believe, from 9i onwards, text based reports aren’t supported and instead HTML/PDF,DOC,RTF reports are supported which are not text based and use modern day printers.
Is it still possible to use text printers ??

that can print table lines in SMARTFORMS...
(pls suggest the DM printers u are using and dont have this problem..i.e unable to print table lines in SMARTFORMS)
    thank you...

    Hi Sreesudha,
I have used three different line types for the main window.
LTYPE1(Header) : For printing the column heading along with the title for consignor address.
LTYPE2(Main Area) : For printing the line items detail. For the first line, I have to print Material Description and chapter Id and if the same    material exists for the second line item, then it should not be printed, so I have written condition for not printing it.
LTYPE3(Footer) : For printing the footer with the net and gross weight details.
And for paragraph format, I have used the custom Para. Format only.
    Suggest me ASAP.

  • Reports for dot matrix printers in character mode 17 cpi

    Hi,
I want to know how to develop reports to be printed in dot matrix printers
in character mode 17 cpi using BI Publisher 11g.
There is a guide available that can guide me?
How to print to a printer connected to a client machine?
How to print to a printer connected to a server machine?
    Can someone help me?
    Thank you,

    Hi all,
This is to inform that I have myself found the solution. It is possible to print matrix report in condensed mode. The method for printing is same as for any other report. The mistake I made was not checking whether the .prt file is getting referred correctly. The DESFORMAT system parameter was getting populated through the calling form. By referring to the correct .prt file the problem got fixed.

  • Line Matrix / Dot Matrix Printers and Reporting Tools

    Hi,
Recently i came across with a P7000 Line Matrix Printer. I need to take out more then 2000 pages at the end on each month.
Previously here people were used to to send printout directly from FoxPro (yes that right!). That time all the reports come out from Line Matrix printer very fast and text are not distorted. And header was still in 'Bold' that remind me old DOS days.
In most of the reporting tools that I used, all the text characters are distorted and the printouts take longer time 'n toner to came out, because they prints in grafix mode.
Please let me know the Reporting tools that could handle/use the the dot matrix printers fonts and styles.

I have worked with Reports 3.0 earlier and that was pretty fast with our dot matrix printer.
AFAIR, you need to use Dot-matrix-happy fonts for the speed to be acceptable.

  • Output Device settings for Dot Matrix Printers.

    Hi Experts,
I've made a page format according to Dot Matrix paper. But at that time of print, system is showing an error message that your output device is not support to this format.
So,how to define Dot Matrix Printer Setting (Wep LQ DSI 5235) in SPAD?
    Regards,
    Prashant Sharma.

    Hi Prashant,
I believe that the page format that you are using in the SPAD for the Output device must have configured with the Device Type as well.
Click on the full administration in the SPAD and then attach the page format to the device type.
Might this will fix your issue.
    Pleasce check the reference link:

  • Crystal Report speed problem on dot matrix printers

We are attempting to print marketing documents (sales orders) to a dot matrix printer using Crystal Reports. All the add-ons for B1 do this using the crystal report viewer which causes crystal to send true type fonts to the printer, making it very slow. We can run the crystal reports in draft print mode outside of B1, and the performance is good. Is there a way to get the same performance in B1 using Crystal?
All solutions we have found will require us to launch Crystal reports and have the end user enter parameters, using a link off the application menu works this way. But we are looking for a better solution to print to the dot matrix printer faster.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
When you are printing it from b1 make all the font to the regular type ( not like bold are italic) like that then it will be some how faster...

  • Tiger & Dot Matrix Printers

    Hi all,
I'm need to buy a dot matrix printer that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.10 to be used for printing invoices from Filemaker Pro 9.
Currently looking at the Epson LX 300+ ii, but can't find any info on compatibility.
Is there anyone out there that use this particular model successfully?
    What about other brands?
    Thanks for the info.

There are very few dot matrix users out there - you'll be waiting a long time.
    Look at this:

  • Smartforms: Printer incompatibility (Laser to Dot matrix)

    Dear all

and while selecting that printer , i found somewhat disturbed o/p in Preview also and boxes dont appear at all( & few @ char is getting printed)  in the printout copies .

    Dear Moni,
Most all of the Panasonic Dot Matrix printers support two different printer languages (IBM Proprinter and an Epson language - FX for 9 wire matrix printers, LQ for 24 wire matrix printers). The active language is configured through the setup routine of the printer itself by pressing certain buttons.
I installed the KX-P1150 driver on my Windows XP PC and then printed a web page through it because I knew this would force the print driver to enter graphics mode. I found that this driver was sending Epson based printer control commands. If it happened that the KX-P1150, which received this information, was set to its IBM Proprinter III emulation, most graphic based commands would not be understood.
In your case, the @ being printed instead of the graphically generated box draw characters suggests that you might have a printer language mismatch between the Windows driver receiving the SAP Smartforms input and the language currently selected within the target printer itself.
I would suggest as a first step verifying that the printer is in its Epson emulation and then trying a print test again. If you still have trouble, I would agree with the other poster who mentioned you should then look into re-checking the SPAD configuration.

  • Not able to print a standard smartform on dot matrix

    Hi
The standard print program /BEV2/ED_PRINT_SF_LDS_XX and the corresponding smartform /BEV2/ED_SF_LDS are printed using a laser printer. But when I try to print it using a dot matrix printer instead. I get no preview and no printout.
Can anyone help me on this please ?

Smita, check if the paper size that is used in the Smartform is assigned to the device type of the dot matrix printer (most likely laser and dot matrix printers are not using the same device type).
It is strange though that you don't get the printout at all. Have you checked the spool queue (SP01)? If it doesn't even reach the spool then the problem is not with the printer.
