Dot missing for an event in iPhone 5 Calendar?

On the iPhone 5, I have a five day event scheduled with the fifth day ending at 8pm. When I view my calendar by month, I see dots for the first 4 days, but not the fifth, despite an event being scheduled. How can I get the dot to be visible?
Thank you

I've got this same problem. Had it on the 3GS and now the 5. Any answers?
Thanks

  • Is there a way to set an alert for every event in a single calendar?

    Hi all,
Is there a way to globally set an event in just one of the calendars showing in iCal?
For example, I have a "Birthday" Calendar with a bunch of birthday events.  I want to set the alert for all of them to, say, noon, without having to edit each and every one.
    Thanks!
       Greg

To generally add an alarm to all events in a specific calendar you would need to program an Automator Workflow that passes all events of the calendar to an Applescript that adds the alarm.
For your birthdays problem is a predefined solution iCal: If you enter the Birthdays on the cards in your Address Book, and enable the "Show Birthdays Calendar Flag", then you will receive automatic email notifications of upcoming birthdays.

  • Search iCal for all events in a specific calendar?

Is it possible to search for all events that I have listed in a specific calendar? For example, I have one set up as "guests" and would like to see a list of all the events I have under that. I tried doing an ical search for guests, but nothing came up, as that's only the calendar's title.
    Thank you.

I thought I was the only klutz who seemed to remember I used to be able to do this, but couldn't figure it out now. This is the second key feature for me (the other being the event info drawer) that's been dropped in iCal 3.0. I'm not sure if the development team is just basically misguided, or if Apple's excuse in the summer about putting off Leopard because programming talents were stretched too thin was, and still is, exactly what's happening.
    So disappointing.

  • Why am I an attendee for every event on my published calendar?

I'm a new ical user as I've never really had a need for it until now!
I have a website which includes public content and I thought it would be a good idea to include a calendar of events. That was fine and I thought I'd push it a little further and so I've just added a protected micro-site that is a page with a frame that includes a calendar which is acting as a sort of rota. i.e. I added a series of events which each have an attendee who is the person who's supposed to be on duty at that event (They've got a job to do at that specific time.)
The problem I'm having is that my published ical calendar seems to be always including me as an attendee as well as the person I intended; whereas on the unpublished version on my computer includes only the intended person.
Have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick and this is actually an intended feature of ical or is it something that I can switch off, or is it something else?

I am also having this problem and it lists all of my contact information. If I want to print the calendar in list mode, it does it, also. I am a teacher and organize the calendar for the entire school. I need to list attendees, but I am not always one of them and to make matters worse, if a student gets hold of this calendar, it has all of my personal info on it.
I tried all different options to get rid of this, but no luck.
I am desperate for a solution to this issue.

  • Events added to iPhone 5 calendar not syncing on iMac

Whenever I add an event to iPhone 5 calendar, it doesn't sync on my iMac (but if I add an event on my iMac calendar, that DOES sync onto iPhone). icloud setting for mail are on.

    Hi thewomandirector,
For calendar events that are not syncing from your iPhone to your iMac, I recommend this troubleshooting article:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999
I recommend troubleshooting the iMac first and then, if necessary, the iPhone.  You can also check iCloud.com to see if the iPhone-added events are making it that far.
    Cheers!

  • Is it possible to specify a template other than the default for the Event Details Layout?

Just exactly what it sounds like, and probably a n00b question –– but any help appreciated. Basically, it looks as though the Detail Layout for an event clicked on through calendar display automatically pulls the default template; I'd like to use a different one there.
    Thanks,
    T.E.D.

    Hi,
Click the "More options" bit on the event - See the Template selection dropdown? There.

  • Can someone please tell Apple to create a "dot" for every event in a given day?

Can someone run this idea up the chain at apple?  It would be nice to see what days are busiest from the monthly view.  I single dot can represent 1 event or 20, but this is not helpfull.  It seems like it would be an easy programming fix to make a "dot" for every event scheduled in a given day, no?  You could press this idea further by making the dot color coordinated to the type of event.
Or is there a setting that I am missing?
    Thanks,
    Stoutland

No-one here can - we're not Apple. Try the feedback page.

  • Missing Calendar "Dot" on days with events.

I sync multiple calendars on my iPhone, and I am not sure when but now I no longer have the dot on days with events scheduled for any of my calendars. Any Ideas? ty.

If your phone gets an error message and will not sync, eject iphone temorarily.
Find your backed up LOCAL file and replace in Library > Application Support > Sync Services > Local
Remove new LOCAL file if your mac has created a new one. Once you replace it with the old one it will alow you to delete from the trash
    Reconnect your iphone
In itunes > Info tab Sync Calendars > All Calendars
    Apply > Sync
You may be prompted to advise because it is going to change a percentage of info on you mac > say yes
Your Calendars should now reappear on your computer.
I did try to re-import my exported calendars. I had the same problem all over again, so it seems that there was some corruption contained in the old calender .ics files. I had to start the whole process again. Trick is to keep your data in icloud and your phone. You are essentially repairing and replacing you iCal using your phone and iCloud. It is your computer files .ics files that are corrupt and need new ones making.
    Hope that helps

  • Is there a way to get an alarm for my events for the iCal on the iPhone 4?

Is there a way to get an alarm for my events for the iCal on the iPhone 4?

    Greetings,
See page 113 of the iPhone 4 user manual: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
When you add an event to the Calendar.app of the iPhone 4 there is an "Alert" option which should give you the desired result.
    Cheers.

  • Why am I getting double popup alerts for Google Calendar events on iPhone?

This is happening on both mine and my wife's iPhones (mine is a 4 and hers is a 3GS) which are both on the latest iOS (6.0.1).  This is what I've figured out:
On iPhones: Default is to set no alerts/reminder for calendar events
On Google Calendar: Default is to set a popup alert 1 hour before event & email 1 hour before event
When I create a new event on my iPhone: It saves with no alerts set, then after uploading to google calendar it shows as having two alerts 1 hour before the event.  If I go into Google Calendar, it shows that 1 popup and 1 email are each set for 1 hour before the event.
When I create a new event on in Google Calendar: It saves with 1 popup and 1 email are each set for 1 hour before the event per the default settings.  If I go to my iPhone, it shows that I have 2 alerts, both for 1 hour before the event.
So it seems that the iPhone is seeing both the popup and email alerts and creating two popup alerts on my phone!
Is there anyway to fix this?  I've tried setting up the calendar on my iPhone through Gmail account, Exchange account and CalDav account and it's all the same.

I figured it out.  It has to do with which calendars you want displayed.  Duplications come from multiple calender selections.

  • Do not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view

I wish I could.... not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view. For an overview of when I have hard-scheduled events in the calendar it's pretty tedious and slow to go day -by day, and other views... Instead the dot  in the month view... - why does it show even "free" events? Any ideas, tips?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no option to disable the dots.

  • Alerts for recurring events in iCal no longer display on iPhone after iOS5 upgrade

That pretty much says it.  I have a daily meeting in my iCal, with two alarms set, one for 15 minutes before and one for 5 minutes before.  The alerts no longer display on my phone after the upgrade.  (They appear on my Mac no problem.)  Has anyone else seen this problem?  I have notifications turned on for iCal , set to Alerts.  Tried badges, tried turning notifications off then on, to no avail.  It doesn't display for recurring events that were in my calendar before the upgrade and for those created after the upgrade.  I don't seem to have a problem with regular i.e. non-recurring events.  Doesn't seem to matte also if it is the default calendar or a different calendar either.  (I tried Reminders and that worked fine, but I don't want to have type all of my recurring events in to iCal and then in to Reminders as well....)
    Thanks very much

I'm having the same problem on my iMac (works on a different phone on my MBP). I restored the iphone and no dice. I'm also constantly getting a beach ball... Hope someone out there knows a workaround.

  • Itunes has stopped working and iphone calendar has 10 entries for each event

"itunes has stopped working", since I tried an update which failed.
Also when I plugged in my iphone it went straight to restore and not only lost all my recent stuff as you might expect - annoying enough, but has installed at least 10   entries for each event. How do I get rid of them? Tried deleting the event but it doesn't take away every single entry. (And can I get my recent stuff back?)
These are probably diffferent problems but as my name implies I'm a complete numpty when it comes to the technical terms so please, in lay terms, what should I do?

Well I seem to have solved this myself...Much to my surprise!
First the itunes issue. When the itunes update screen came up again it said if you have trouble with this go to Tools (top of itunes panel) and press "download only" which I did and the rest just sort of happened. It uninstalled and then installed.. All I had to do was open each file. Checked my stuff and all there. Checked itunes store and straight in.
Iphone calendar. Not sure how this happened but it had about 25 - 30 copies of each event. I went through each calendar and by process of elimination deleted the ones that seemed to be causing the problem. I didn't lose any events but all of a sudden there was only one each of them. Bizzaire but true.
This is a very rare day for me. A Good IT Day.
