Dots on display in certain poistion

the ibook screen is showing dots in certain positions and the green and purple dots are annoying me and apple care ran out 3 weeks ago can anyone help

hi mark, this is another common problem, l had an ibook in for repair once and the screen had like 1,000 fluorescent blue dots. A proper repair would be replacing the screen but a low cost or should l say no cost solution is to move the screen. Does pushing the right bottom side of the screen FORWARD remove the pixels, try flexing the screen gently, the problem is the actual lcd electronics not any cable that can be replaced.
I know the ibook l repaired had the screens bezel coming away at the bottom right and pushing it forward stopped the blue pixels, he replaced the lcd but l salvaged it and glued it to the bezel fixing it

  • How to display a certain number of channels...

    Hi!
    I am using LabVIEW 8.5 and I am trying to display a certain number of channels using multiple channels ...
    I can display them in a graph, but I am displaying the 16 analog input channels
    that NI 6024E have and I need to display only the channels that have something
    connected to them (I do not know which channel will have something connected to
    it). If they have a signal (temperature), I will like to display that channel/s in a graph and save that  channel/s in a txt file. If not
    I do not want to show or save the channel/s.
    How can I do that using DQA Assistance?
    I am able to do all this using one channel, I can display in
    a graph, I can save it in a txt file, but I am not able to do it for n number
    of active channels only. Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Julieta.

    Hi,
    I am trying to give the user the opportunity of selecting how
    many channels he/she want to connect to the board… Now I only have two channels and I know what
    those channels are, but I want to do something that allow the user to select
    the channels that he/she needs (maybe the 16 or maybe only 3 or 7). I saw that
    in older versions of Labview there exists in Analog Input a “AI MULT PT” that
    maybe could allow me to input there specific channel (I am using 8.5 version of LabView).
    I am doing this to detect the channels, but it is not even
    close of how it supposes to be, because the user can not select… I just want to
    display the channels the user select and calculate the mean only for those
    channels.
    Any suggestion advice will be appreciated…
    Sincerely,
    Julieta.

    This issue can be caused by the bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or another (bitmap) font that can't be displayed by Firefox in that font size.
    Firefox can't display that font in the specified size and displays gibberish instead.
    You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
    Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or find a True type version of that font that doesn't have the problem.

  • IPod Touch 2nd Generation Music Won't Display in Certain Genres.

    I have been having this issue for a couple months now and not every "Genre" category has this problem. Please help.
    I have certain Genre's that I recently added to my iTunes library; Drum & Bass, Trap, etc..
    In my iTunes library on my PC, all songs that are categorized under these genres are visible, but when I view these genres in the "Genre" category on my iPod, it's not on display.
    When I click on the genre "Drum & Bass" and then I click on "All Albums" on my iPod, it says "No Music"
    Not every genre category is like this, just new genres that I have recently added.
    Anyone else have this problem? I have a feeling of deep alienation.

    Try:

  • Displaying only certain properties in the Properties Pane

    Hi
    The properties pane that is available as a component in the Web Application Designer is quite a useful component. However, there are certain properties that we don't want to make available to the user.
    At the moment I am using the property pane with the following config:
    Property Set Definition : PROP_SET_PREDEFINED
    Properties Source : Web Item Parameters
    Web Item : Analysis
    As mentioned, that works nicely, and shows me an area with 3 columns of properties, namely:
    - Layout
        - Alternate Table Row Styles
    - Cell Specific Settings
        - Exception Visualisation
        - Document icons for data
        - Document icons for metadata
        - Document icons for masterdata
    - Data Specific Settings
        - Display Repeated Texts
        - Scaling Factos Visible
    Now, we don't want to display the "document icons ..." properties, as that doesn't make sense for our users.
    How would I go about not displaying those properties?
    I have played around with the properties pane item, and I can see how to list a single property. For this I set:
    Properties Set Definition = Single Value
    Property Name = ALTERNATE_STYLES
    This works, and I then only see 1 property being displayed. I can get the technical name of the property by using my standard pane with the verbose mode set to ON.
    To display multiple propeties of my choosing, I thought I would be able to use the PROP_SET_MATRIX option. I can select this, then start defining the table. I need to assign the following properties:
    - GROUP_DESC : <Not sure what to put in here>
    - COLUMN : 1 (the number of columns I want)
    The I have a "properties list", where it looks like I can specify which properties are to be include. For this I need to provide:
    - Property Name : ALTERNATE_STYLES
    - Caption : Alternate Table Row Styles
    - Property Parent : < Don't know what to put in here>
    I have tried various values in the Property Parent and the group_desc fields, but still I see nothing and sometimes get rather meaningless errors appearing.
    Surely this shouldn't be a difficult task.?
    The SAP help file (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/69b8a62985619ae10000000a1553f6/content.htm) provides the following really useful description of PROPERTY_PARENT:
    You specify the property parent
    Please, is there anyone out there that has done this, and if so, please point me in the right direction.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Grey Dots on Display

    I have a 6 month old MBP. About 2 months ago I noticed a large grey dot about 2 mm in diameter on the bottom of the screen. Would have taken it in but I am in Europe until next month.
    Today I noticed 4 - 6 more in the vicinity of the larger dot. It seems they are multiplying.
    Is this what a dead pixel looks like on an LED?
    Anyone know Apple's policy on this?
    Does there have to be a certain number of pixels dead or defective before they replace it?

    Hey, I bought my MBP in Jan 07 and by May I started to notice grey spots on my screen and also what looked like a hair in my screen. Well what looked like a hair might have actually been a hair and eventually disappeared at the bottom of the screen. Once I got out of school i took my MBP to a mac store and they replaced the screen. I was only without my laptop for about 4 days.
    I have started noticing grey dots again on my replacement screen starting last month, and will be bringing in my MBP tomorrow...

  • IMac (Mid 2007) - Black / Purple dots on display

    Hello,
    I am having a problem with my Intel iMac display. I don't want to write a long story, so I'll try to keep it short:
    1) October 2008 - My iMac Super Drive started making a funny noise when playing DVD movies (It was a Pioneer one), I took it in for repair at my local Apple Store, it was replaced with a Matshita one. I get my iMac back with black dots on the screen.
    2) November 2008 - I took my computer back in to get the display cleaned up, after a few weeks , I get it back with the same dots only in different places.
    3) January 2009 - I took my computer back in and got it back with 3-4 dots that won't go away, Apple Store guys can't do more. I decided to remove the screen cover and tried cleaning it myself. No luck, the 3-4 dots I can see (there are more perhaps) won't go away and I now believe they're dead or stuck pixels.
    I tried stuck pixel killing tools online for hours, no luck. If I try to take a screenshot, you can't see anything. I even thought "wth?" and re-installed the OS and all apps and stuff, thinking it could be a software issue = Nothing.
    4) February 2009 - I wrote a formal complaint to Apple based on all my knowledge about customer satisfaction issues (I work @ HP), even a Project Manager helped me out. I sent 3 letters, 1 to each address I could find that supposedly has a Customer Relations Dept.
    It's been a little over a week, I'm obviously not expecting an answer yet, but being realistic, I doubt they're ever gonna respond or do something, think about it, it's 4 dead pixels.
    The point I tried to make in my letters was that this was not caused by me and that the display was perfectly fine before I took my iMac in for repair the first time and that my local Apple Store has failed to fix the issue.
    That is what I'm holding on to, that they'll realize they messed it up and it was not my fault and this was not caused by regular use either.
    So, I got the letter in case anyone would mind reading it. But the purpose of my post is to ask you what I can expect as a customer or if you actually believe it's gonna be easier to win the lottery than having them do something about this. Maybe somebody out there had a similar experience like this and has something to say.
    Maybe this seems ridiculous, but just think, you bought a brand new car and it has a scratch, it may be big or tiny, but there's a scratch, wouldn't you be mad?
    My comp just turned 1 year old in January and it's covered under an AppleCare extended service plan til 2011.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Lyssa.
    I've pushed in the RAM modules so hard that my fingers hurt. I'm pretty sure they're installed fully, since replacing the original RAM works no problem and I'm not pushing any harder to put those in. I suppose I could try one more time to double check.
    I have a couple 2GB modules in my ASUS, so I'll try taking one of those out and see if that works. I thought that each slot was limited to 1GB so I never thought to try that.
    Thanks for the help.

  • JTextPane inside a JScrollPane: any way to display a certain section?

    I have a GUI with a JTextPane inside a JScrollPane.
    The text of the JTextPane is the contents of a text file, so it typically has many lines.
    I want the JScrollPane (whose preferred size has already been previously set to display 11 rows of text) to always show one target line as the middle row, and the 5 rows before and after it as the remaining 10 rows.
    In other words, I want to show a certain line and its surrounding context.
    Do you guys know how to achieve this? I have already tried calling
    JTextPane.setCaretPositionbut this is inadequate because it merely guarantees that the line with the caret is visible--but it does not guarantee to center the caret line in the middle of the JScrollPane.
    I also tried calling
    textPane.scrollRectToVisible( textPane.modelToView(caretPos) );where textPane is my JTextPane, but this failed completely (seems to always display the final lines of the file).
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Daryl: thanks for your response.
    My original code looked like this:
    int caretPos = 0;
    for (int i = 0; i <= index; i++) {
         caretPos += lines.length();
    textPane.setCaretPosition(caretPos);
    With *just* the above, you get the behavior that I originally described, namely, the line in question (which is lines[index]) always gets displayed, but it is not necessarily in the middle of the JScrollPane.
    I tried commenting out the line above which calls setCaretPosition, and used essentially your code instead:Rectangle caretRectangle = textPane.modelToView(caretPos);
    Rectangle viewRectangle = new Rectangle(
         0, caretRectangle.y - (scrollPane.getHeight() - caretRectangle.height) / 2,
         scrollPane.getWidth(), scrollPane.getHeight()
    textPane.scrollRectToVisible(viewRectangle);This fails too: the JScrollPane now always shows the bottom of the JTextPane.
    What does work is to use *both* techniques, namely, call setCaretPosition as well as scrollRectToVisible:     // set the caret to the line in question (i.e. at index); this merely guarantees that this line is visible, but not necessarily centered
    int caretPos = 0;
    for (int i = 0; i <= index; i++) {
         caretPos += lines[i].length();
    textPane.setCaretPosition(caretPos);
         // and IN ADDITION cause scrollPane's viewport to be centered around the line
    Rectangle caretRectangle = textPane.modelToView(caretPos);
    Rectangle viewRectangle = new Rectangle(
         0, caretRectangle.y - (scrollPane.getHeight() - caretRectangle.height) / 2,
         scrollPane.getWidth(), scrollPane.getHeight()
    textPane.scrollRectToVisible(viewRectangle);The interesting question is why do you need to do both steps?
    I think that I know the reason, but I would love to see someone confirm or deny this.  What follows is my speculation.
    The above code is inside a method that is call by a run method of the class in question which is always executed by the event dispatch thread (EDT), so it is not an illegal thread use case.  However, in the method that has the code above, I am clearing all existing text of the JTextPane and then repopulating it (with that String[] lines used above, which came from parsing a file).
    Now, in  [this posting|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10289999#10289999], camickr claimed:
    "When text is inserted into a Document, behind the scenes a call to setCaretPosition() is made to position the caret after the newly inserted text. However inserting text into a document is a complex procedure since Elements need to be created as the text inserted into the Document is parsed. So the call to the setCaretPosition() method is placed in a SwingUtilities.invokeLater(), which means tha code gets added to the end of the GUI EDT to be executed once the Document is in a complete state. So basically what is happening is that your call to set the view position does execute, but then is gets overridden by the setCaretPosition() method call."
    If the above claim is true, then all the calls in that method to add the file's text result in implicit calls to setCaretPosition which will be executed AFTER the method above ends (i.e. asynchronously, later on by the event dispatch thread).  Hence, I need to do an explicit setCaretPosition call of my own to override these implicit calls.
    Now, I am not sure that I totally buy this explanation.  I would like to see more proof of camickr's claims for one: I did a quick code review of some of the classes involved, and do not see where calling AbstractDocument.insertString generates an implicit call to setCaretPosition on the EDT.  To be sure, the code is complex, and I do not know where exactly to look, and maybe this is done by some listener or something, who knows.  Furthermore, my explicit call to setCaretPosition is done synchronously on the EDT (recall: that method above in my class is called by its run which is executed by the EDT).  So, my explicit call to setCaretPosition should occur in time before all of those delayed implicit calls, and thus should actually be overridden by them, no?
    I would love to hear from someone who really knows Swing... • Acrobat Pro X stamps, comments do not display at certain zoom level

    A user found a bug in Adobe Pro 10.1.6.
    We have both Adobe Reader and Pro installed on Server 2008.
    A document stamped with dynamic signature: "APPROVED" do not show in Adobe Pro when opening.
    If the zoom level is being change then the stamp do show.
    Same document show the dynamic stamps in Adobe Reader.
    I reported the bug through this form https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Is there a workaround until a fix is comitted ?

    > Well, "Default" is what's in the maker.ini file as it exists "out of the box".
    That's to be expected, as up until the program is run for the first time, there's no opportunity at all for it to discover the screen size. I suppose Adobe could ask during the install, but not only is that annoying (and would complicate blind installs), the answer might be impossible to know (running FM in a VM window rather than on a real display, or historically, in an X-window on Unix).
    Even after FM is running, and even if using EDID API calls, I doubt FM is making such calls. When FM was first written, it was impossible for an ap to discover screen size. Up until VESA DDC2 in 1996, monitors were rarely capable of reporting anything to the attached computer. Had FM implemented DDC calls, it would have needed to add DDC/CI, then E-DDC, then several generations of EDID calls. And APIs for any of these would have been different for Unix, Mac and Windows, plus normal Windows churn.
    Most users don't care. Those that do have traditionally made inquiries and discovered the maker.ini entry for this.
    I might add that FM apparently can detect the aspect ratio of the screen (4:3, 16:9, 16:10), because it must know the raster extents in order to paint the windows and place the dialogs (it just doesn't know what inches or mm that corresponds to). This, I presume, is why it doesn't need to encode the A/R in maker.ini.

  • Randow video dots on display

    Having a problem with random video dots that blink on and off on my IMAC27 that is 210 vintage machine. If I shutdown the machine and re-start they disappear for awhile but do come back. I am running the latest version of Maverick. I have read that it maybe a software related problem with one of the applications but really can not determine which one is causing assuming that this is the problem. I would think it probably is a hardware issue.
    Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what was done to resolve it.
    Thanks in advance for any info
    Michael

    hi mark, this is another common problem, l had an ibook in for repair once and the screen had like 1,000 fluorescent blue dots.

  • MIGO Posting Date - Authorisation to Change/Display for Certain User ID

    Dear all
    There is this business requirement
    1. Warehouse users should not change the Posting Date of the GR refer PO. It is to avoid user from delaying their work to enter into SAP system the next day although they have received the goods today. As such, we should change the field status of POSTING DATE into Display mode.
    2. However, if the warehouse user has forgotten to enter on the GR Date, they have to go to their Warehouse manager to ask him to enter for them, since the field status: Posting Date is set to display.
    Question:
    I know how to set the field status of Posting Date to display, but will this field status will be applied as "display" for all the user id? If so, then how can I control only the Warehouse Manager can have the Change Mode for Posting Date?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi all
    I found out this can be done by assigning manager and store keeper to different Tcode with different field status:
    Warehouse Manager - MIGO_GR, field status of Posting Date: Required
    Store Keeper - MIGO, field status of Posting DAte: Display Only
    This will solve the problem!

  • Rollover text to display a certain frame

    Hello,
    I am pretty new to Flash, and I am trying to figure out what
    ActionScript formula I need. I want to allow someone to just hover
    over static text, which would then change the frame to a different
    picture that corresponds to that text. I know the answer must be
    very simple, but it is frustrating for me. Thanks in advance!

    many :) first you need to define some areas where things will
    be 'put into', like the image of the player (MC), and the
    associated text and stats (Textfields). next you will want to
    create 'buttons' that contain the positions text, you will use the
    onRollOver handler for each button to load the image into the MC
    and put the associasted text into the fields. you should store the
    information in arrays for accessing, and use a attachMovie,
    loadMovie or loadClip call to bring in the picture, and dynamic
    textfields to propagate the text.
    You could also store the players current stats in a DB or
    plain text (txt) file and access them with Flash, to display
    regularly updated information, as well as reports from the most
    recent game or event.
    I love football :) I could assist you further, if I could
    post or send me the files.
