  • Hello need vertical  lines in the script

    Dear ABAP GURUS,
I need to draw verticle lines in the script as a tabel, i have drawn the horizontal lines. I heard that there is the the function module to draw the verticle lines but how is that possible to use in the script. Plwase help me out in drawing the vericle lines, i Have tried using the vline but no use.

    Hi Soni,
Its very easy to draw the vertical lines in a script.  Use BOX statement to draw the same.  Check out the syntax for BOX statement.  Give the 'Y' coordinate only and do not mention 'X' coordinate.  So that the box will appear as a vertical line.  Check it.
Boxes, Lines, Shading: BOX, POSITION, SIZE
The BOX, POSITION and SIZE commands for drawing boxes, lines and shadowing can be used for specifying that within a layout set particular windows or passages of text within a window are to be output in a frame or with shadowing.
The SAP printer drivers that are based on page-oriented printers (the HP LaserJet driver HPL2, the Postscript driver POST, the Kyocera Prescribe driver PRES) employ these commands when outputting. Line printers and page-oriented printers not supported in the standard ignore these commands. The resulting printer output may be viewed in the SAPscript print previewer.
    Syntax:
    1. /: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
    2. /: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    3. /: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    BOX Command
    Syntax
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
Effect: draws a box of the specified size at the specified position.
Parameters: For each of XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH, HEIGHT and FRAME both a measurement and a unit of measurement must be specified. The INTENSITY parameter should be specified as a percentage between 0 and 100.
    1. XPOS, YPOS: Upper left corner of the box, relative to the values of the POSITION command.
Default: Values specified in the POSITION command.
The following calculation is performed internally to determine the absolute output position of a box on the page:
    X(abs) = XORIGIN + XPOS
    Y(abs) = YORIGIN + YPOS
    2. WIDTH: Width of the box. Default: WIDTH value of the SIZE command.
    3. HEIGHT: Height of the box. Default: HEIGHT value of the SIZE command.
    4. FRAME: Thickness of frame.
    Default: 0 (no frame).
    5. INTENSITY: Grayscale of box contents as % .
    Default: 100 (full black)
Measurements: Decimal numbers must be specified as literal values (like ABAP numeric constants) by being enclosed in inverted commas. The period should be used as the decimal point character. See also the examples listed below.
Units of measurement: The following units of measurement may be used:
    • TW (twip)
    • PT (point)
    • IN (inch)
    • MM (millimeter)
    • CM (centimeter)
    • LN (line)
    • CH (character).
    The following conversion factors apply:
    • 1 TW = 1/20 PT
    • 1 PT = 1/72 IN
    • 1 IN = 2.54 CM
    • 1 CM = 10 MM
    • 1 CH = height of a character relative to the CPI specification in the layout set header
    • 1 LN = height of a line relative to the LPI specification in the layout set header
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
Draws a frame around the current window with a frame thickness of 10 TW (= 0.5 PT).
    /: BOX INTENSITY 10
Fills the window background with shadowing having a gray scale of 10 %.
/: BOX HEIGHT 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a horizontal line across the complete top edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a vertical line along the complete height of the left hand edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT 1 CM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 15
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '10.0' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '13.5' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
Draws two rectangles and two lines to construct a table of three columns with a highlighted heading section.
    POSITION Command
    Syntax
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the origin for the coordinate system used by the XPOS and YPOS parameters of the BOX command. When a window is first started the POSITION value is set to refer to the upper left corner of the window (default setting).
Parameters: If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value, in other words as a value which specifies an offset from the upper left corner of the output page. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value. If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to this parameter.
    1. XORIGIN, YORIGIN: Origin of the coordinate system.
    2. WINDOW: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same of those of the current window (default setting).
    3. PAGE: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same of those of the current output page (XORIGIN = 0 cm, YORIGIN = 0 cm).
    /: POSITION WINDOW
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to the upper left corner of the window.
/: POSITION XORIGIN 2 CM YORIGIN '2.5 CM'
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to a point 2 cm from the left edge and 2.5 cm from the upper edge of the output page.
/: POSITION XORIGIN '-1.5' CM YORIGIN -1 CM
Shifts the origin for the coordinates 1.5 cm to the left and 1 cm up.
    SIZE Command
    Syntax
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the values of the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters used in the BOX command. When a window is first started the SIZE value is set to the same values as the window itself (default setting).
Parameters: If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to the current value of this parameter. If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value.
    1. WIDTH, HEIGHT: Dimensions of the rectangle or line.
    2. WINDOW: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current window (default setting).
    3. PAGE: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current output page.
    /: SIZE WINDOW
Sets WIDTH and HEIGHT to the current window dimensions.
/: SIZE WIDTH '3.5' CM HEIGHT '7.6' CM
Sets WIDTH to 3.5 cm and HEIGHT to 7.6 cm.
    /: POSITION WINDOW
/: POSITION XORIGIN -20 TW YORIGIN -20 TW
/: SIZE WIDTH +40 TW HEIGHT +40 TW
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
A frame is added to the current window. The edges of the frame extend beyond the edges of the window itself, so as to avoid obscuring the leading and trailing text characters.

  • Print data at new line in SAP Scripts

    Hi,
Is there any way that i can print data at new line in sap scripts. I am looping my data and its printing in the same line but i need to print it at new line. Is there any formating options or any command to do that.
    Thanks

Than you must take all the values from the internal table into the different variables and than print them.
    In program:
READ TABLE ITAB INTO WA_TAB INDEX 1.
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
      VAR1 = WA_TAB-FIELD1.
    ENDIF.
    * read all the lines and fill the VAR variables
    In SAPScript:
    /E LINE_VAR
    /P &VAR1&
    /P &VAR2&
    /P &VAR3&
    /P &VAR4&

  • Magenta dotted vertical line 7.2cm from right-edge of Macbook Pro Retina display

There is a magenta-colored dotted vertical line 7.2cm from right-edge of Macbook Pro Retina display.
It is most prominent on a solid dark gray or blue background.
Just wanting to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Have requested a replacement. Laptop is 2 days old.

Here a short follow-up on this issue. I called Apple about this problem. I need to get the laptop to an ASP for display exchange. The ASP said ordering new parts and repair will take around two days. At least this is good news.
Apple would have only sent a new laptop within a 14 day grace period after delivery. As soon as your out of this time you'll only get repairs.

  • How to print a Barcode VERTICALLY in a SAP Script ?

    Dear Experts..
I have to print a Barcode <b>vertically</b> in a SAP Script.
Could you please help me regarding this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey SR,
    follow these steps :
    Bar code  in Smartform :
    General definition of Bar code:
Bar codes are standardized characters of a symbol made up of a group of lines and spaces that can be recognized by an optical scanner. Bar codes uniquely identify article data, production numbers or transport units, for example. They can also contain additional information such as batch number, expiration date or weight.
    Example
In the Logistics Execution System (LES), certain field entries can be represented by bar codes and printed on the transfer documents. This simplifies certain data entry processes such as order confirmation.
    Type of bar code:
Bar codes are based on a binary principle and consist of a series of stripes/gaps of different widths. The sequence of the stripes or gaps results in an (alpha) numeric statement. Bar codes are read optically. Due to varying requirements, bar codes may differ with regard to the following aspects:
    •     printer tolerance
    •     decoding tolerance
    •     character width
    •     automatic check
    •     number of characters
Steps to implement bar code in the smartform:
    •     Use the transaction code smartstyle. Give a suitable name .Choose create.
    •     In change mode of the Smart Style select the Character formats node and choose Create.
    •     In the Character format field enter a two-character character key.
    •     Select the desired attributes of the Bar Code on the tab Standard Settings.
    •     Choose Activate.
    •     Assign the character format to the field or character string in the smartform.
    •     Activate the smartform.
    •     Test the same.
    Regards,
    Kunal.

  • Get no. of lines in sap script

I am using Command  'Address / End address' in sap script for printing address.
How do I get the Number of Lines we get from this command.

    /: ADDRESS [DELIVERY] [TYPE t] [PARAGRAPH a] [PRIORITY p] [LINES l]
    /: ENDADDRESS
    LINES
This specifies how many lines may be used for formatting the address.
If there are too few lines available to allow all the address data to be formatted,
then the data specified in the PRIORITY parameter are omitted.
If there is no LINES parameter and if this command is in a layout set window of
a type other than MAIN, then the number of lines available for formatting
the address are automatically calculated based on the current output position
and the size of the window.

  • Vertical Printing in SAP Script,

    Dear Friends,
I have one requirement in SAP Script.
I need to print Fixed Text in SAPScript but Vertical .
Could anybody help me on this issue.
    Regrads
    Vijay

    hI
PCL5 commands are specific to HP printers. So you need to find out the exact printer control language for your Datamax printer becoz even if you follow exactly the same as the steps below, you may not be able to get your desired output, becoz your printer may not understand PCL5 commmands.
Note: The steps illustrated below are what I did for the HP printer that I used. Caution: If you try to use it on other printers, be prepared for cases like infinite loop- the printer may keep on churning out pages of unreadable characters. Also, you won't be able to see the effect in Print Preview because print commands will only be effected during the actual printing.
I have used the PCL5 commands from this document: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/bpl13210/bpl13210.pdf (refer to P79)
1/ Go to T-code: SPAD > Full administration > Device Type tab > Display Print controls
2/ Change to Edit mode > Click on Create icon > create a Print Control say ZR090, add the Comment > Check 'Use in SAPscript Drivers', 'Use by SAP' > Save it
3/ Go to T-code: SPAD > Full administration > Device Type tab > Choose your Device Type: say HPLJ4 (it is recommended that you copy the Standard Device Type to a new Device Type ZHPLJ4 so that future upgrades will not affect your Device Type.) > Display. (Do select the Device Type of your printer, since I am using HP 4000 series, I chose HPLJ4)
4/ Change to Edit Mode > Print Control tab > Click the Standard Print Controls button on the Application toolbar > Put cursor on the newly created Print Control name in Step 1 and hit the Choose icon on the Application toolbar. The name should appear right at the bottom of the Print Control list. For that Print Control name, select radiobutton for 'Direct', and 'Converted' and the control character sequence is: \e&a90P (if you need a 90 degrees rotation), \e&a0P (for 0 degree), \e&a180P (for 180 degrees), and \e&a270P (for 270 degrees) > Save it. (These are the PCL5 commands specific to HP prnters)
5/ Note: You need to create another Print Control for a 0 degrees rotation to switch back to the normal printing orientation after printing your rotated text. So repeat Step 2 and Step 4 for a 0 degrees rotation
6/ In your smartform, Create a Command before the Text you want to rotate (Right Click on the Node > Create > Flow Logic > Command > Under Generate Attributes tab > Output Options > Include Printer Control > click the Search Help and find the Print Control ZR090 which will rotate everything after this Command to 90 degrees.
7/ After rotating the part of text, if you want to rotate it back to the normal printing direction, insert another Command as in Step 6, but choose the Print Control for the 0 degrees.
8/ Print your smartform to see if that is your desired output.
Note: from my trial-and-errors, exploration and testing, I feel in my opinion, it might not really be worth the while to work on this. Because it needs alot of trials-and-errors and print commands are very specific to the printers (so if client changes the printer, your smartform may be rendered useless unless it uses the same Printer Control Language). Further, I have another problem with this. Even if you manage to rotate the text successfully, the position of the text may not be want you want (becoz of what the command tries to do) . Then you have to take into account the position in the designing of the form.
So here is what I suggest, if you really want to use Printer Controls, search the internet for equivalent Printer Control Language for your Datamax printer (Note that even if you find, the way to use may be different from the above Steps. For eg. for Zebra Printers, the way to rotate text is different as shown in OSS Note 750772).
    Alternatives:
1/ Or you could create a bitmap picture with the rotated text, like wat many have suggested
2/ Find a font type that is able to change the words into a vertical orientation (there are upside-down fonts for a 180 degrees rotation, so you might want to do a search for a font that meets your requirement) and then upload to SAP.
3/ The last one which might be more viable is to use Adobe Interactive Forms. A colleague told me that one is able to change orientation of text in it (I have not tried it before) but you can do some exploration b4 commiting to using it. You don't have to output to PDF to use it. Normal printing is also possible. The T-Code for this is: SFP (type 'S*' for SAP examples, do an exploration on Layout tab, maybe it can provide a new alternative).
