Double Calendar Entry after Syncing

After syncing today, I now have double entries on my device.  They are all future appointments that were on Outlook, not ones I had entered on the device.  When I try to delete one says "appointment deleted externally.  Changes will be lost and the viewer closed."
Solved!
Go to Solution.

If you have the Calendar perfect in outlook follow this steps, after this you have the calendar perfect.
If you are having errors in your Calendar on your BlackBerry, and you wish to delete the entire Calendar database on your BlackBerry, follow the directions below. Make certain you have a good copy of your Calendar or Contacts elsewhere, as this procedure will complete delete ALL Calendar entries on your BlackBerry.
1. Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
2. Open up Backup/Restore > Advanced.
3. From Advanced you'll see a split pane screen. The left pane is what is going to be backed up from your device and the right is a list of the currently existing databases.
3. Highlight on the right side your Calendar database and click the arrow in the middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information over and prepare it for back-up.
4. Once the back-up has completed, hit the Clear button at the bottom to erase and clean out the entire Calendar database.
5. After it's finished, it will ask you if you want to save the back-up you've created, say yes and check the device to make sure the calendar has been properly cleared out. Now, resync the necessary contact information and you should be set to go.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

  • Double Calendar Entries after sync

Ok so I upgraded to 3.0 for my 1st generation iPod touch, and after the sync (I have mobile me too) I now have two iCal entries for each event. Double events. Now when I open iCal there is only one, but when I open calendar on my iPod touch there are two listing for each event. How can I fix this?

Hopefully my answer is the correct one because this is what I think it is.
Open your calendar app on the touch. Above the month/year should be the words "All Calendars". To the left should be the arrow for Calendars. Touch that. You should see a tab near the top that says "All Calendars" with the arrow pointing to the right.
Just below that should be a new section called "From My Mac" with the calendars listed from iCal. If you scroll down you should now see another section called .Mac. This too should contain all your calendars. If you touch either the "All .Mac" or the "All from My Mac" tab, you should only see the single listings you're looking for.
I don't understand why there should be both sets of calendars. Wouldn't they both be the same?
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I remove the double calendar entries after upgrading to ios5?

Upgraded to ios5 today on an iPhone 4.  I'm now getting double calendar entries.  It's not carrying over to my Mac though.  Any ideas how to rid my phone of them?  Thanks!

I was having the same problem and even started deleting some of the double entries. I went into the "calendars" tab on the top left of the screen inside the calendar app and found that the appointments from my Mac calendars were being displayed along with (scroll down) all the appointments from the iCloud calendars (which are a mirror or backup of the appointments from my Mac). I turned-off the iCloud calendars and the problem was fixed. I guess if I am coordinating appointments from several devices (iPhone and iPad or several family iPhones) I would just leave the iCloud calendars on and turn off my Mac calendars. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's happening here. Any other ideas?

  • Double Calendar Entries when Syncing with MobileMe Cloud

I synced up my new iPhone the other day and all of my calendar entries are doubled up on it - two entries for each. It's been syncing with my MobileMe cloud for a few days now and continues to have this problem. Funny thing is, my Calendar app on my Mac does not sync up the double entries. It only shows one, as it should be. Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

This happened to me too and I think it has to do with your phone showing your calendars from your MobileMe and then all of them again from your computer. Go to your Calendar on your iPhone and hit the "Calendars" button top left and it should give you options to select "All Calendars" or "From My Mac" or "MobileMe". I ended up having "All Calendars" selected and it showed both, Computer & MobileMe at the same time so it looked like I doubled everything.
Let me know if this works or if I screwed up on my syncing or preferences somehow.

  • PC Suite - Double Calendar entries after canceled ...

I'm doing synchronisation beteen Nokia 6151 and Outlook 2007 via Bluetooth.
The problem has occured with all previous versions of PC Suite.
When the synchronisation is interruppted (e.g. when I'm moving away with my phone away) I get double entries in Outlook and the phone. In Outlook there is a additional space always on the same position. In the phone there is no space. Seems that it occurs just with entries that are containing the German letters ä,ö,ü or some other special characters.
    Example: (name was changed)
    Outlook:
    Geburtstag von Michael Pröabcd
    Geburtstag von Mi chael Pröabcd
    Phone:
Geburtstag von Michael PröabcdGeburtstag von Michael Pröabcd

  • How to eliminate duplicate calendar entries after sync with iCloud ?

I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to IOS5 and set up sync through iCloud. Now all my iCal entries appear twice on the iPhone, even though they appear only once on my Mac mini (running Lion).
How do I stop this happening? And how do I get a clean calendar on the iPhone?
    Neil

Ok, I solved my own problem. I thought I had unchecked "Sync Calendar" in iTunes on the Mac mini, but it turns out I had not. As soon as I unchecked that box and let the system delete that calendar, all the duplicate entries went away.

  • Double calendar entries on BB 8310 after sync

I want to sync my BB to my office and home PCs.  When I do a 2 way sync I get the double calendar entries.  Can anyone  pleeeze help me correct this problem? v4.6 BB Manager/v4.5 onBB 8310

Go to Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Default Services.  The calendar (CICAL) setting needs to be set to the e-mail address/calendar you wish to sync with on your PC.
You might need to change this setting, then delete all your calendar entries on the device and start from scratch to get it all resolved.
Also, make sure you have the sync set to do a two-way sync in Desktop Manager.
If you need instructions on how to clear calendar entries, you can find them in another thread I posted for someone else here: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Torch-Smartphone/Help-How-do-I-select-and-delete-m...

  • Duplicate Calendar Entries after Setting up iCloud

I just installed iOS 5 on my iPhone, and upgraded to the latest and greatest OS X Lion on my iMac to use iCloud. Unfortunately, it appears to have created duplicate entries for all of my calendar entries. Rather than syncing my existing iCal calendars, it looks like it created all new 'iCloud' versions of those same calendars so I have double of everything. (For example, before I had 'Home' and 'Work', etc. now I have 'iCloud Home' and 'iCloud Work') This makes no sense to me...am I just supposed to delete my old calendars and just go with the iCloud ones now? Why wouldn't they automatically do that for you if that's the case? Not very intuitive. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Additionally, from what I can tell, if I create a new entry under one of the iCloud calendars, it WILL show up on my iPhone. However, on my iPhone, I DO NOT have those same 'iCloud Home' calendars listed, just one that says 'All iCloud'. Unfortunately, that means I can't create a new calendar entry that syncs with iCloud. If I create an entry under 'Work' on my iPhone, it DOES NOT sync with iCloud and show up on iCal on my Mac. There is no way this is correct behavior, as that is one of the main benefits of syncinc calendars.
Does anyone have any solutions for these issues? Thank you.

Okay, got it sorted; hopefully this will help others out.
My situation: calendars were working fine on my Mac, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS and iCloud up until Friday evening when I activated my new 4S.  Then all heck broke loose, and my calendar events started triplicating (quadrupling, in some cases).  The calendars themselves did not, just the events.  I believe what caused it is that I restored my 4S from a backup of my 3GS, and didn't turn off iCloud on the 3GS before doing so.  So the system got confused and started replicating things like mad.  Then I remembered Time Machine!
    Here's the solution:
    1. Backup jacked-up calendars on your Mac (just in case, you can always go back and manually fix them...gag).
    2. Turn off iCloud syncing on your devices (all of them), including your Mac; this will prompt you to delete the data on the devices, and that's okay (take a deep breath...)
    3. You should now have no calendar data on any device; it should only reside out on iCloud; verify this by logging into the site and checking
    4. In Finder, navigate to <you_user_dir>/Library and make sure you have a Calendars folder (hold Option and click the Go menu and you'll see it the Library folder...they hid it in Lion); don't open the folder, just make sure it's there
    5. From the Library folder, enter Time Machine and select a date you know was working (in my case, I had to go back to before Wednesday to make sure iCloud was not in use on my machine at the time, you might have to do the same, depending on when you started using iCloud)
    6. Click the magic Restore button in the lower right-hand corner; you'll be fast-forwarded to the same folder in the present, and asked if you want to replace or keep the duplicate items; choose Replace
    7. After the copy is done, open iCal; you should see all your events restored to their normal glory
    8. Log into the iCloud.com website and nuke all of your calendars; yes, you read that right, kill them all...or you'll be back at square one. Because you have to have at least one calendar, I created one called "junk" and left it in there temporarily
    9. Back on your Mac desktop, go to System Preferences and turn on Calendars in the iCloud control panel; if you have iCal open still, you might have a freak-out moment where everything disappears (I did...).  Don't panic, this is normal; if you look at the website, you'll see your calendars start appearing there, and shortly the same will hold true for iCal on your Mac
    10. Once you've confirmed that everything looks spiffy, delete the "junk" folder on iCloud.com
    11. One device at a time (I did my 4S first, then my iPad 2), turn on iCloud for Calendar syncing; just to be careful, let each device finish updating before you turn on the next (it probably doesn't matter, but I'm paranoid at this point).
    12. Voila, you should now have all calendars in sync across all your devices, your Mac, and iCloud.com
Hopefully this helps some people out; it's the only way I could get it to work and restore my calendars back to a useable state.
    Take care!

When syncing Contacts or Calendars between an iPhone, iPad, or an iPod touch and Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010, changes that you synced to your computer may not appear in Outlook even after the sync has been completed.Try this article to see if it works for you

  • How to delete double calendar entries

I have double calendar entries on my iphone.  How do I delete these double entries?

I have the same problem. Now the entries are not just double, I have them four times. It looks like it is just about the full day events like birthdays. I think it is may be caused by my previous phone. All the double entries are old ones. I had an "HTC touch cruise" (totally crap) and transferred all my data to outlook an then to my iPhone. All the entries are marked with four different colors and it tells me that I have a lot of different calanders. But I have never created them.
Please, can anyone help? Imagine you have a day when three friends have birthday, my phone will send me 12 notification. :-(

  • Existing Calendar Entries not Syncing to iCloud

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 that has five calendars.  I attempted to sync it to my iCloud account today and it only syncs one of my calendars ("Work").  The other calendars ("School", "Home" etc), show up in iCloud in the Calendars sidebar, but none of the entries do.  If I create a new event on my phone in any of the calendars, they show up and sync perfectly to the iCloud and to my new MBA (running Mavericks).  Likewise, events I create on my MBA and iCloud show up fine on my phone.  So, why are these existing entries, for all but one of my existing calendars, not syncing?  Any ideas?
I've tried toggling iCloud on and off on my MBA and my phone; signing in and out of iCloud; restarting both phone and MBA.... no luck.  My next step is the restore my iPhone, but I'd really rather not do that.  I hope someone can help!

I suggest you do the following:
Go to your old MacBook that contains these calendars, open iCal, click on each of your calendars on the left-hand side of iCal and export a backup to your desktop.  To do this, open iCal, click on the calendars one at a time, go to File>Export>Export and save to your desktop.  Then email each of these backup files to yourself.
Next, open the emails on your new MBA, double-click the attachments one at a time, and select the corresponding calendar on your MBA to import each calendar to.  This should import the calendar entries to your Mac and to iCloud.  When done, comfirm that the calendars on your Mac contain the events, and check icloud.com to confirm that they appear on your calendar there as well.  If they do, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn Calendars to off, choose Delete from My iPhone at the prompted, then turn Calendars back on, and if prompted, choose Replace.  This will replace the calendars on your phone with the ones on icloud.com.
Oh, I have a good feeling about this!  I will try it out and report back in the morning.  Thank you so much!

  • IPhone calendar entries not synced with MacBook calendar

I use my iPhone 4S calendar as my primary calendar for entering or modifying events for the simple reason that it's with me most, if not all the time.
But after upgrading my MacBook Air to Mountain Lion last week, calendar entries entered or modified on my iPhone no longer synchronize with the calendar on my MacBook Air.  As such, I have to manually make the entries or modifications on my MacBook Air so that the calendar will be updated when I synchronize it with my iPad.  Am not using iCloud, so the calendar on my MacBook is a local calendar (On My Mac).
Any thoughts on why this is happening and what can I do to fix this?

I have noticed a problem recently, although I can't absolutely be sure it's related to Mountain Lion on the computer.   Perhaps iCloud (which I set up, but am not really using yet).
My specific issue is that if I go into Calendar (formerly iCal) on the mac, and edit an already existing calendar event -- change the time, or move it to another day -- the change doesn't always sync through to the iphone properly.
Example: I had a recurring weekly event for 7:pm on a specific day of the week.  The start time got pushed back to 7:30.  I changed it on the mac, and sync'd to the phone.   However, the change did not get applied to the iphone calendar.  If I edit it on the iphone itself, it will sync back the other way correctly.
Same sort of problem occurs if I move an event from one day to another on the mac.  I will wind up with it showing up on BOTH days on the iphone.  If I delete an item, same thing.
It acts like the iphone versions of calendar entries are write-protected in a way.  If I edit them on the phone, the changes stick and sync properly to the mac.  If I try to do it the other way around, they do not.

  • Missing calendar entries when syncing

Using windows xp, ms outlook 2007 and iTunes 1.1.3, I am missing calendar entries on my computer after syncing. The calendar entries are shown on the iPhone, but many do not make it onto Outlook on my computer. The sync seems to push onto the iPhone one-way, without updating the computer. Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?

    Update to original post:
Phone is taking roughly 45 minutes to sync, which is awful.
Calendar items are not syncing with Outlook.
Contacts are multiplying with every sync, numbering into the thousands.
My sense is Apple is overwhelmed with these issues. I did the iTunes upgrade yesterday and no improvement.

  • Duplicate Entourage calendar entries when syncing with 1.0.4

Here we go again... I was reasonably happy with the previous BB DM - Mac, v. 1.0.3 (build 19?).... but had to update it to the newest version to install the updates to my BB Curve 8530. Now when I sync with my MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard), the calendar entries in Entourage double. I had this duplication problem a while ago and now JUST sync with Entourage, not with iCal too.  How can I correct this duplication?

The duplication has stopped but here's a new problem:  When I add recurring events to my Entourage calendar, they don't sync to my BB.  The other direction works OK with recurring events. Anyone know why this happens, or how to work around (other than only add recurring events to my BB)??
    Thanks,
