Double click a word document in your PC and have it opened with Buzzword

I am trying to replace Microsoft Word with Buzzword but I keep receiving emails with word attachments or downloading word documents from other websites and is really tedious to manually import each of those documents into Buzzword to read/edit it.
Why don't you create a small utility that I can install in my local PC so that when I try to open a word document, it automatically imports it into Buzzword and opens it in my browser?
I try to post this in the Acrobat.com ideas section of this forum but it is blocked!
I am also open to develop this utility by myself but:
There is no way to obtain an Acrobat.com development key. The email address where the key requests need to be sent no longer exist.
I didn't see in the API any method to import into Buzzword. I only saw the option to upload the file and another missing feature in Acrobat.com is that you cannot import a word document already uploaded into buzzword. You need to download it and upload it again using the Import button.

Automatic syncing between the Mac and iCloud is not supported at this time.  Which is good, as there is a difference between the Pages file format used on iOS - and, thus, on iCloud - and the file format on a Mac.  Due to limitations of iOS, the format on iOS is less comprehensive, and automatic syncing might cause your Mac copy to lose some formatting.
In order to upload a Pages file from the Mac to iCloud, you log in to iCloud and upload it there.  You can also download from there, but be warned that the version you download could be missing some formatting.

can't scan a document in my printer and have it come up in the adobe acrobat reader like it did before my last update...can anyopne suggest a solution...have been on hold with adobe for 46 minutes.

    Hi lostinma,
Are you scanning and then saving to PDF with your scanning software? What happens when you try to open the PDF in Reader? Do you get an error message?
Reader doesn't allow you to create PDFs, so you wouldn't be able to scan directly into Reader.

  • Can you save a Pages document to the desktop and have it linked with iCloud?

Or does Pages sandbox documents when they are saved to iCloud? I heavily use folders on my mac to organize projects, and have started using Pages so that I can write on my phone and ipad. However, I would like to have an icon of a document that links to icloud rather than having to open the application and then pick the document.
I'm essentially organizing two separate areas; the one on my computer with all my media, research links, etc and then documents organization in Pages in the cloud.
Kinda wish there was a way to make a reference file option; saved in icloud, but can be organized in mac folders.
Any thoughts? Or am I missing something obvious.
    Thanks.
    N

You cannot access your iWork documents in the cloud through a folder structure as you can on your computer.
You might want to approach your use of these documents in the cloud in a slightly different way. I tend to use iCloud for my documents "in progress", but once complete I then move them to my regular folder structure on my computer and out of the cloud. This means I have a minimum but relevant number of documents available to me when I open the appropriate app on my mobile device.

  • How can I click on a bookmark and have it open a new page? When I click a bookmark it always opens right in the sidebar, all my bookmarks disappear and I am left with two seperate pages?

I keep my bookmarks open at all times in the sidebar. If I want to go to a site, say Google, I must do a right click on the bookmark and then click on "Open In A New Tab" then the google page opens in a new tab.
I want to skip the second click. I want to be able to simply left click the google booknark in the sidebar and have google open in a new tab.
the way things are now, when I simply do a left click on the google bookmark the new google tab opens in tne sidebar itself. My bookmarks disappear from the sidebar and the google page is opened in the sidebar. So at this point I have two active page open at the same time.
Is there a way to simply left click the bookmark in the sidebar and have the bookmark open as a regular page?
Please pardon my clumsiness as I have only today used FireFox for the first time.

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

  • Weird error -43, when double-clicking a numbers document in finder

    Steps to repro:
    0) open a finder window at the location (e.g. ~/Desktop) you are going to save your numbers document.
    1) create a new numbers document.
    2) save the document to the directory (e.g. ~/Desktop) that you have already displaying open in the finder (<- very important)
    3) switch to the finder and double click the numbers document.
    4) I get a error -43 at that point.
    5) To get around the error you have to change the directory to one up and then back to where the numbers document is or switch the view mode (cmd-1, cmd-2, cmd-3) .
Looks like the finder has problems with recently saved numbers documents.
    Even weirder:
Press cmd-I on the numbers document in the finder after you just saved it. The numbers document disappears and so doeas the Information dialog. What the heck?
    Can anyone else repro this?

    Thanks for trying.
I tried as well, now saving to the desktop, which is on a seperate volume.
I had the problem saving to the work volume.
It seems to have to do with permissions.
I checked "Ignore ownership on this volume" and applied it to all subdirs.
Seems to have solved the issue.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site

How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site so people can read it from my
site with Dreamweaver 4?. How can I do this? Can anyone please help? I'm only a newbie. Thanking you in anticipation.

First you need to install a means of printing to pdf from word.  I like cutepdf writer ( http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp ).  Once installed you will print the doc in word and under the printer selection you choose pdf.
Once you have the file you put it in your local site folders and upload it using Dreamweaver.  Be sure to link to it from a page so users can get to it and I would recommend giving the link a target of _black so it will open in a new window (see the properties inspector in DW).

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

How do you save a Word document when it says you have no memory?

Connect another disk drive to which you can save the document. Then clear space on your hard drive.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

my word document is not responding and I did not save it prior to this event. How do I fix this without loosing my work?

Open a new document in the TextEdit application and copy and paste the contents of the frozen Word document in the new TextEdit doc and save to your desktop. Force close Word if it won't close normally, reboot the PC, open the TextEdit document you previously created and copy the contents from the TextEdit doc back into a new Word document and hopefully all will be well.
