Double click on jar file but does not launch

My PC has windows7 operating system
The jar file was working fine, everytime I double click it would launch, no problems
Somehow the .jar file association was changed to open with winrar so now when I double click it does not launch and run like before, winrar opens it
How can I change the file association back to java?
Regards

  • Using office outlook under parallel desktop double click on an Excel attachement does not open the document in Excel

using office outlook under parallel desktop double click on an Excel attachement does not open the document in Excel.
double-click opens Excel Office 2011 for mac without the document.
It should open the document in Excel 2010 for Windows.

In Parralells, choose the file you want to open.
Right Click on it and choose Properties.
In the General Tab you will see "Opens with:"
Click the "Change ... " button.
Then choose Excel 2010. The checkbox below should be set to "Always use ... "

  • I am using both PSE 13 and Lightroom 5.  When I use Lightroom as an external editor and save the photo, it shows up in PSE13 as an edited file but does not look any different.  Why doesn't it appear edited?

I am using both PSE 13 and Lightroom 5.  When I use Lightroom as an external editor and save the photo, it shows up in PSE13 as an edited file but does not look any different.  Why doesn't it appear edited?

People who have Photoshop, but don't have Lightroom, need ACR so that they can use Raw files. Without ACR they could do nothing with those (they may also like having ACR so that they can work on other kinds of image using the same kinds of adjustments and techniques, as are used with Raw files).
People who have Lightroom, can get access to Raw files regardless whether ACR is present or not. They can use Lightroom on other kinds of image also, using the same methods. LR can pass images directly into Photoshop without passing via ACR (or else does so transparently, which amounts to substantially the same thing).
ACR does not, strictly speaking, even need to be installed for this external editing to happen. In fact, not even PS needs to be - since a different image editor can be used instead, while still retaining the Adobe Raw conversion etc.
Lightroom "subcontracts out" specialised external tasks, in this workflow, but is still your "main contractor": the image is otherwise located, viewed, managed, adjusted/presented and output entirely using LR.
So IMO we can divide image processing into:
operations that involve pixels and layers and layer masks and adjustment layers etc (of the kind done inside Photoshop)
operations that involve parametric edits (of the kind done in ACR where you are not using a Lightroom based workflow; otherwise, done inside Lightroom)
When PS is called in, that's because those tasks are impossible or unsuitable to do in Lightroom. But those tasks can't be done in ACR either - by definition, since LR and ACR have exactly the same image processing "feature set".
Lightroom is irrelevant to the Bridge + ACR + PS workflow. This workflow requires both your PS and your ACR to be current enough, to support your Raw format etc.
ACR and Bridge are irrelevant to the LR + (image editor) workflow. It is in this case, only LR which needs to be current enough to support your Raw format etc.

  • Double clicking a new e-mail does NOT show whole e-mail

double clicking a new e-mail does NOT show whole e-mail unless I go to forward or reply. In other words, I may see a couple sentences, then it's just blank, no scroll bar either. This gets annoying. Anybody else get this or know how to overcome this?

Well, there is no such thing as an AOL type account in Mail. Such an account must be set up as either POP or IMAP. Nevertheless, knowing that the ISP for one of the accounts is AOL is useful because it seems that other people also have this problem with AOL -- see Chuck Coulson's and smackwell's posts in this thread.
I don't think I'll be able to help you with the AOL account other than telling you to try rebuilding the mailbox -- select the mailbox and choose Rebuild from the Mailbox menu. Have you tried that?
The problem shouldn't happen with the POP account, however. Do you experience the same problem with it as well?

  • Application bounces in dock but does not launch

When I double-click on a FileMaker file, it used to automatically launch FileMaker Pro 8 Advanced until about a week ago. Now, when I double-click on a FileMaker file, the applcation icon bounces for a fraction of a second in the Dock but does not launch.
If I drag the file to the application, then FileMaker launches.
Other applications are not exhibiting this odd behavior.
    How can I fixt it?

remove (drag out) the filemaker icon from the dock, open finder and locate the filemaker application and drag it back to dock.

  • Clicking update opens apps, but does not update them

When I click "update" in the app store, the app that should update opens, but does not update.
DEVICE: I am using an ipad mini with iOS 7.0.6 and 5.6 GB of storage available.  I don't have any kind of app manager apps or anything like that.
    THINGS I HAVE TRIED:
    rebooting
    closing all apps and rebooting
signing out of app store, closing all apps, rebooting, and signing back in to app store
deleting apps to create more space
changed app store settings to update automatically

Here's a link to a thread that solved the problem for me:

The culprit was that the Flash plugin needed updating for FF. That was it.
Go to Firefox; Preferences; General (tab); Add-ons; Manage Add-ons; Plugins.
I clicked on Find Updates and immediately updated the Flash plugin.
    Hope this helps others.

  • Premier Elements 11 installed but does not launch

I installed premier elements 11, the installation did not have any problems, but when I click on the icon nothing happens. It does not give an error message, is does not try to do anything, it simply does not launch. I uninstall, turn off the norton software, did a clean boot to prevent other services to load, re-installed the software and the problem continues.
I have window 7 64 bits 8 gb memory, more than enough disk space. What else can be wrong that is preventing the application from launching?

    Hi,
Could you please try the following solutions and see if any of these work:
    1. Navigate to 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe' located inside:
        Win x64: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13
        Win x32: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13
Right click on 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe' and select 'Run as Admin'
    2. Just after this keep on pressing 'Ctrl+Alt+Shift' on Windows (or Command+Option+Shift on Mac). You will get a popup asking to delete Elements settings file.  Click Yes.
If the above does not work, please try the following:
    3. Please rename SLCache folder present at location "<root drive:>\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache"
Also please rename opm.db on your machine to resolve this issue @  <root drive>\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Now re-launch the application.
    4. In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
    5. Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
If none of these work, please let me know.

  • My MacBook pro turns on, shows my background, but does not launch finder. Help please.

When I turn on my MacBook Pro (2006, 15"), the background image shows up, but the finder does not launch. After about 10 minutes, my task bar will appear on the bottom of the screen, but the finder bar does not appear. The spinning wheel appears and will not go away. I have attempted rebooting a few times, and each time the result is the same.
    Suggestions?

The folder with a question marks is usually an idication that the Mac can't find the system file to boot from.
Since you never told us which system your Mac was running there is nothing more to say.

  • Cannot open files with a double click !! Trackpad solution does not work, just makes my cursor move slowly. Have not found a solution in forums. Help needed please!!

I cannot open files by double clicking ... have looked at forums and no solution yet !!! Control click is the only way i can open files
"If you go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse and Trackpad -  You can set the speed of the double click to be much slower.   Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem. "  this solution did not work it just made my cursor move at a snails pace.
Thanks for any help forthcoming !!!

found this on another websites forum .... it worked
I figured it out. Thanks everyone!
I had to turn on my wireless mouse... And even though I wasn't using my wireless mouse and just the trackpad...I had to turn on my wireless mouse then adjust those settings...Had to turn down the speed. Then Once I shut the mouse off and started to use the trackpad again it works perfectly.
I'm not sure why the mouse settings would change the trackpad settings but it did.

  • When I double click on events the pics does not open. I have to go to edit to get the pic up on the screen. I can not enlarge the photo either. I have tried to rebulid the libary

I have iPhoto 11.When I double click on an event the pics do not spread out. I just get a yellow frame around the event. This is when I double click with left finger. With right finger option is slideshow. I can not enlage a pic with double click either. I have rebuild the libary but no difference . Can anyone help me please ?

Sounds like a trackpad issue. Try changing the trackpad's settings.  Post in the appropriate Mac model forum.  If you have a mouse available try it to see if you can get iPhoto to do what you want.  This can narrow down where the problem is.

  • Double click on JAR file to execute it.... How???

    Hello,
I wrote a standalone java application, and im wondering how to put a shortcut on my desktop to run the application without having to go into the command prompt to type "java -jar MyProgram.jar".
I want to be able to just double click on it and have it run. Is there a way to do this?

Here is how I did it:
Just install the JDK/JRE and then make a shortcut to the jar file you want to execute. When you install the jre jar's are registered and all you need do is double click them. I've done this in windows 95, 98, Me, NT, and Win2000.

  • Double click (or 2 finger touch) does not open event in iPhoto

When I double click or 2 finger touch on an event, it does not open the event. instead, it offers "Play slideshow" or "Make key photo". Also, when within an album, a double click does not enlarge the thumbnail. I am using iPhoto 11 and OS X 10.8.4 and the track pad.

That is not the normal way to double click on a track pad (although you can change setting in the trackpad control panel)
Double click is two (double) clicks in quick succession
a two finger click is "right Click" and the menu you are getting is the right click menu

  • My IPad needs double click to access anything and does not scroll through anything

IPad needs a double click to access anything and then does not scroll down.

Do you need to tap (and the app/item then gets a box around it) and then double-tap ? If you do then you probably have VoiceOver (one of the accessibility features) 'on'. Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.
If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064
