Double-click on photo in blog to enlarge?

Is it possible to enable my blog so that viewers can double-click on a photo to enlarge it?

Thanks Staussa.
I've already been to preferences in iweb, iphoto, finder and back again.
Can't seem to find anything that works.
Seems like there should be a simple solution!

  • Iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo

iphoto is quitting unexpectedly when I double click a photo within iPhoto to enlarge it or scroll all the way to the top to the most recent pictures.  Any ideas? I have the most recent version and all updates are done.  HELP!

Now we try repair the original Library. Switch back to it:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Then assuming you're using iPhoto 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Trying to make a photobook but can't get pages to open by double clicking. Photos from Iphoto 9.6. Help anybody?

What do you mean? Are you not able to switch from "All pages" view of the book to a single page view by double-clicking a selected page? Or what is the problem?
Or can you not open the book at all from the source list?

  • Double-Click on photo = Black Screen

I have some high quality (for me) photos that came from a professional wedding photographer. They are about 4mb a piece. In iPhoto 08 I had no problem with them. I could move them around, print, do whatever I needed.
With iPhoto 09... when I double-click on them to bring them up to the larger size so that I can see greater detail and edit them... the picture goes to black.
Any clue as to what is going on?? My wife is going to kill me if she can't get to her wedding pictures easily!

    Hi Guys,
I have read with interest all your posts on this issue but unfortunately, for all your suggestions my problem is not resolved. I have done the following:
    1. Rebuilt the iPhoto Library (both the small thumbnails, all thumbnails and file permissions)
    2. Examined the version of 'AppleAppSupport.framework' which is at 1.5 in my machine
    3. Downloaded and reinstalled 'Mac OS X 10.5.6 Combo Update'
    4. Examined the Console log to determine if any error messages appear when I double-click a photo (there are none)
    5. Examined the color-profile and other properties of some photos which exhibit the problem (they are the same as the other photos in the event taken with the same camera)
    6. I even tried editing the photo (which is the only time I can see it) and saving it but with no change
I hope that someone here can shed some light on this most strange issue which only started after upgrade to iLife '09.
    Regards,
    Michael

  • When i double click a photo in iphoto to edit, the screen goes black

when i double click a photo in iphoto to edit, the screen goes black.  I'm using 10.7.5 with iPhoto 9.4.2.  Can anyone help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Is it possible with 5.7 to double click a photo to open Lightroom. Still possible with 5.3.

With Lightroom 5.3 it is possible to open Lightroom by a double click on a photo and to import the file. With 5.4 id didn't work any longer. Is this repaired under 5.7 now?

    Flodur wrote:
Not with 5.3! all other compatitors are able to do so.
I can't speak for Adobe. But if Lightroom 5.3 did this it was an oversight. That isn't the way the workflow should run. An efficient Lightroom workflow involves you understanding the catalog, and how utilizing the it is central to effective management of your images in Lightroom. The catalog is a database. Images need to be intentionally added to the catalog and stored in specific folders on your computer. Those folders are chosen by you. By allowing you to double-click on an image to open in Lightroom, that completely destroys any capability to efficiently manage a folder structure.
Lightroom isn't like other programs. It isn't a file browser that simply looks at every image on your computer. You need to intentionally import and place images in an organized fashion so that they can be managed effectively.

  • Problem editing - can see thumbnail, but blank when double click on photo

I just upgraded to iLife 08 and encountered a host of problems. I had about 5000+ photos. Now I suddenly have 7000+. There are a ton of duplicates that I don't know what to do with. Moreover, I can't edit my photos. I've changed the preferences around, but nothing works. When I try to click on the thumbnail to edit the photo, a blank page appears. It looks like I can manipulate it, as when I press rotate, the thumbnail rotates. However, I cannot view anything but the thumbnail. Pls help!

    victoria:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    , a blank page appears.
Is the box gray with an ! in the middle or is it white? If it's the latter then there's a permission issue. Sodownload and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name, long or short, in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
If it's the former and Terence's recommendation doesn't work you may be looking at starting fresh with a new library and importing the original photos from the old library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Hello, I would to know the correct way to shrink my photo to fit my design in GoLive cs2. Then once launched, when you double click the photo/image it enlarges to view a larger image.
I have done it in the past and I am just missing a step.
    Thanks

  • Bridge Does Not Automatically Bring Up Photoshop When the Photo is Double-Clicked

I have just purchased CS4 with Bridge for my new MacIntosh.  In Bridge for the PC, when I double click a photo it automatically brings up Photoshop.  On the Mac version, it gives me an error message saying that part of the application is not loaded.  I completely uninstalled the program, and reloaded the application and still get the same message.  So in Bridge on the Mac, to get around this, I right click the picture and go to "Open With" and there are two entries:  "Open with CS4 (default)" and "Open with CS4."  This works if I pick either option.  My Windows version only has "Open with CS4 (default)" as the option.
I called Adobe support (in India?) with no solution.
I really like the double click option rather that using the pop-out menu choice.  What is wrong with the Mac install, and how can I fix this issue?

Thank you for your help.  I updated the software and it "healed" itself.

This might mean that you have either 2 installs of CS4 (one on an other
disk?) or you did not use the the default application folder on root level
but have it installed in the user account application folder. Could you
    check this?
and go to "Open With" and there are two entries:

  • Double-click won't open photo in new window

so double clicking a photo in my library used to open it in a separate window where i could have a closer look or edit the photo, only, now, when i double-click a photo, the separate window opens, flashes the photo for a millisecond and then appears and remains blank. anyone had this issue before? know how to fix it? happy days!

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How to get bigger versions of double-clicked photos?

double-clicking a photo opens an image which is not exactly big.
Is there any way to make them open bigger than they currently open up ?
    Thanks!

Well, Snappir, there are a few ways to try this:
there's *'fancy zoom'* and 'rollover'. If you search the forum here you'll find the threads that discuss these methods.
You could also create a blank page, put the large version of your photo on it. (Don't let this page show in the navigation menu, but title it anyway).
Then, back on the page with the small images, select your photo and in the Inspector, Hyperlink tab: enable this photo as a hyperlink and link it to 'one of my pages' and select the large photo page you just created. It's a good idea to create a text box 'back to photos' and link it back to the original photo page.
Note: this *+doesn't work+* if you've put your original photos onto an iWeb +photo page+, only if you've added them as separate elements to your first page. You could see my example here:

  • Help! Can't use double click to open!

I need some help here. I can't double click to open anything on my computer. Not my HD, or anything in my HD. The only way I can open my HD is to click on my HD icon then go to File-Open. And to open anything in my HD I have to click on the item and then go to File-Open. I can double click open iPhoto, but once I'm in iPhoto I can't double click any photos to open them. Instead I have to click on the photo and then click edit.
    Can someone please help?
    TIA!

Okay, I did a search here and think I fixed it.
Went to Apple Menu-Preferences-Keyboard & Mouse-Mouse. Drop down=Dashboard. Left side Drop Down=Primary button and Right side Drop Down=Secondary button and Expose=All Windows and Scrolling Options=Vertical & Horizontal.
    Hope this helps someone!

Hello congratulations for the work you have been developing. The apple support has helped me greatly improve my Mac and better understand some applications. Recently my iPhoto has given me problems and I do not realize what is happening. When I double click a photo it does not appear ... or rather the background is black and only the zoom window appears. How to solve this? I've done a restoration of the library, but the problem remains. Thanks and good job.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue

    If none of these help:

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • In an album, many pictures would show on the screen and double clicking one would enlarge it for adjustments. Now one larger photo shows and along the bottom severa smaller ones. Options which used to be at the top right of screen no longer show. Whel

In Aperture album about 16 photos would show on screen and double clicking on one would enlarge it for adjustments. Now one larger image shows with about 7 photos at bottom. Options for controlling this no longer appear at top right. How do I correct this?

Do you mean the "View" controls are missing in your Toolbar?
To add these controls back to the Toolbar, use the View menu and select "Customize Toolbar". Drag the View Controls back to the Toolbar.
