  • Displaying a text item (6 digit number) as a barcode

    Hi. I'm interested if there is a was to display a 6-digit number on my form as a simple barcode in Forms6i? I want to query this 6 digit number to the form canvas and display it to the user as a barcode. Or perhaps it might be possible to pass the 6 digit number to Oracle Reports and have it display the barcode to the user? Or perhaps I could 'host' out of the form and use some Windows-based third party utility to pop-up the barcode on the screen for the user to see? Does anyone have a possible solution to offer?
    I know in MS Word you can add fonts to it's selections. One of these fonts can be a simple barcode font which then displays the number as a barcode that can then be scanned.
    Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
    for that issue i have only one hint:
    You'll have to test.
    Remember taht barcode it not barcode, there are a lot off different barcode-types and you'll need one that matches the font you've chosen.
    Just an additional question:
    What device is your scanner connected to? Do you have two pc's next to each other or is it some portable device?

  • Double-Digit Screensets

    These don't seem to work as indicated in the manual.
    I have four screensets, all locked, they are numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. I access them easily by simply typing the single digit number on my number-pad.
    Now, for example, I would like to create screensets 12 through 13.  The manual says to use Control-# for the first digit (in this case "1"), followed by the next digit (in this case "2").  In actually doing this, though, the initial Ctl-1 brings up my locked screenset 1, then typing "2" simply takes me to screen set two.
    In my case this will work if I create screenset 85.  I hit control-8, and since there is no screenset 8, it goes nowhere. Then my second "8" concludes the process by indicating "Screenset 88" at the top of the screen.  But similarly, I can't create 81, 82, 83, or 84.  If I issue ctl-8 followed by any of these numbers (1,4), it will simply return me to screensets 1 through 4.
    Incidentally, despite my indication above that screensets 1 through 4 are locked, having them unlocked makes no difference.
    The difficulty seems to be this, Ctl-[digit] doesn't respond by waiting for another keystroke, it goes immediately to the screenset, making double-digit screensets impossible if the initial digit has a screenset associated with it.
    How about this one: Trying to create a screenset 55 I issue ctl-5, the system does nothing, as there is no screenset 5.  I then release the ctl key and issue a "4" which brings up screenset 4.  I then issue and unmodified 5 and suddenly I have a screen set 55!  It recognized the ctl-5 as an indication of a soon-to-be-whole double digit screenset, took me to screenset 4 when the keystroke was issued and then (for all intents) saved screenset 4 AS screenset 55 when I issued the next 5.
    Irksome!

    It works fine for me.
    If I want screenset 11, I hold control and hit "1" twice, quickly in succession.
    If I want screenset 34, I hold control and hit "3" and while still holding control hit "4", quickly in succession.
    So effectively, you are holding control for both digits and thus doing a control+first digit and control+second digit.
    The key is to do it quickly without releasing control, otherwise a small timeout expires and the second key press  (control+second digit) will be interpreted as a single digit screenset.
    The manual says:
    "For two-digit screensets, hold down the Control key while entering the first digit."
    It does work like this, but often people can't release the control key and hit the second digit quickly enough. I just did some testing, and it worked as described in the manual for me, even with a significant delay entering the second digit.
    But in general, just keep it held down for the second digit, and enter them quickly.
    For me, under no circumstances does control-X take me to screenset X, it always does nothing until receiving the second screenset digit.
    A thought: I do remember somewhere between LP7 and LP8, some of the behaviour of handling key commands changed giving some funky behaviour. If you are having problems accessing certain screensets, try removing and re-learning the screenset key command assignments, and seeing whether this improves the behaviour you see on your system.
    You may also want to try trashing your preferences and control surface preferences as well.

  • HT4972 My phone is not responding since I downloaded the IOS update 7, I am locked out of using my iPhone, I enter my 4 digit number and a screen appears saying Joining "Sherry's Wi-Fi Network" but nothing else is happening and I can't use me phone.

    An update from Apple appeared on my iPhone so I downloaded it, it was an IOS update.  The screen said to swipe to open, then enter a 4 digit number, which I did then it went to a screen asking for my network info which I entered (except I guessed at the security as being "WPA2", I have not idea, I entered my password and now the only screen that will appear is one stating it is Joining my stated Network??? but nothing is happening and I can't use any of my iPhone features at all?  Help

    Go back to the previous page.  If there's no available wireless networks listed except "Other" which is manually putting the wireless network information, see if you have "activate using cellular" or "connect to iTunes" option.

  • How to enter a 24 digit number into a mysql db

    hi,
    i want enter a 24 digit number into a mysql db as a mathematically manipulatable value.
    when i configure the field as a bigint(24) it takes it as bigint(20)
    when i keep it as bigint and parsing a double value from my application
    it gives data truncation exception for the particular field.
    the whole process worked well when i change the field type to varchar(24),
    what i want is to enter 24 digit number into db as a mathematically manipulatable value.
    if anyone can assist me, pls reply,
    thanks,
    dushi

    you should ask in a mysql-forum. or at least in JDBC-forum here at sun-forums
    you could save it as varchar and parse it when selecting it into bigint in java and make your calculations...

  • Page Numbering in Master with double digit

    How do I create pages in the master pages with double digits, say I want to start with 01,02,03,04,… without punching in the zero "0" manually and maintain the actual double digit pages as: 10,11,12,13,… and NOT 010,011,012,013,…?

    Yup. I still can't believe it actually worked. I'm constantly testing and trying different ways and so far so good. Below are the steps that I did in case anyone want to try. If it's a glitch, I hope it's permanent.
    STEP ONE:
    Select pages 1-9, right-click to Numbering & Section Options (making sure to right-click on page 1), insert "0" in Section Prefix, check Include Prefix when Numbering Pages:
    BUT…it also applied to the rest of the pages (the double-digits), so…
    STEP TWO:
    Select ALL the double-digit pages, erase info in Section Prefix and uncheck Include Prefix when Numbering Pages:
    and VOILA! It worked. It was a lot of playing around and testing but so far so good. If anyone tries to do this and it doesn't work…maybe it was all by luck or I'm just having a good day today.
    I'd like to know if this process worked for others as well (for us deprived CS3 users).

  • How to format 9 or 11 digit number with dashes

    Windows Adobe Pro 9.
    Someone please be kind and have mercy on me, I've researched this issue for 5 hours now and cannot resolve it on my own.
    I have a text field where the user will enter either a 9 digit or 11 digit number separated with dashes. If the number entered is 9 digits, it should appear as
    XX-XXXXXXX. If 11 digits, it should appear as XX-XXXXXXX-XX. If only 9 digits are entered, the -XX at the end must be omitted.
    I found a javascript that showed how to allow a varying number of digits, and I also found one that showed how to cause the dash to be entered, but I'm not smart enough to know how to combine the two. I've only used one other javascript before (how to format the time 12:00 am, with a gigantic thanks to Mr. George Johnson), so I know that I must put the script in "Advanced > Document Processing > Document JavaScripts." I think then I would go into the text field format and select "custom," and enter a keystroke and format script???
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    alice

    Hi Mr. Johnson,
    When I copied the first part of the code into the document-level javascript editor box and hit okay, it gives this message:
    SyntaxError: return not in function
    8: at line 9
    and the cursor moves to the empty line after:
       // Do nothing if field is blank
        if (!s) return;
    Is there something missing?
    I really appreciate your help.

    SOmethings I have tried:
    I did go to gpedit.msc to turn the group policy "Turn on PIN sign in" to "Enabled"
    Does not seem to work. Any help appreciated please.
    Krish.

    Hi,
    "I am not part of a domain. I do not have e-mail that belong to a domain other than hotmail."
    What's the meaning? Did this computer join the domain?
    Please logon with that Hotmail account, then navigate to the following location
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon
    In the right side pane, double click on Turn on PIN sign-in and make sure it is enabled.
    After that, restart to check the result.

  • I have a new iPhone 5 and receive the following message when texting some people within my contacts.  Message sent using invalid number of digits please resend using 10 digit number or valid short code Msg:2114

    I have a new iPhone 5 and receive the following message when texting some people within my contacts.  Message sent using invalid number of digits please resend using 10 digit number or valid short code Msg:2114. Online I found a discussion that stated i needed to delete contact and re-add. I have done that to no avail. Any ideas?

    I had the same issue with the iPhone 6 and tried everything!  I now understand that at some point I stored a number for a contact without including the area code and sent a text message.  So, to correct the issue, you must literally "erase" all references to the contact, not just the number.  Deleting the contact and entering a new one is not enough because the iPhone stores references to that number in multiple places.  The steps below worked and are very simple:
    1) On the contact screen, delete everything stored for that number.  You can't just edit the contact to fix the problem, so write down or record the info somewhere before you complete this step.  Choose edit and then select DELETE to eliminate the entire contact which means home, work, cell, email address, etc.
    2) Delete the entire string of messages you sent to that number.  That's every single message...
    3) Now delete the entire string of invalid 2114 messages you received after your text(s) failed.
    4) Finaly, remove the contact from FAVORITES if you saved it that way.
    5) To validate that all this worked, simply go to the keypad or contact screen and enter the number associated with the contact to verify successful removal.  I used the keypad and dialed to confirm.  If the contact number still shows up, you need to go back and recheck your steps.  Trust me, I had to do this a few times.
    Several posts suggested that you should  reset and turn off your phone.  After following these steps, it was not necessary for me to reset or turn off my device.
    is there a much faster way to achieve the same results?  Probably, but this was safe for an iPhone novice and may help you avoid inadvertently deleting other contacts or replacing factory settings that you need.

  • What is, how to fix, stop, small popup window from 'plugin-container.exe' with 3 digit number that won't stop re-appearing???

    I get very small windows popping up on the screen on top of anything else I'm doing regardless of what apps I'm running or not running. If I R-click on the icon in the task bar, it's identified as "plugin-container.exe"
    The window doesn't say why it's there, but only displays a 3 digit number (for example the on on the screen now says 587) and allows only the usual X to close, or an 'OK' button to close. But a short time later it pops up again.
    I'm running Windows 7 64bit MS Security Essentials and Firefox, though it will pop up even if I just booted and haven't started Firefox yet.
    It's really (really really) annoying. How can I fix it or disable it or whatever it takes to make it STOP.
    Perhaps if I had some idea what it was I could attack it that way, but I haven't a clue. BTW, I've cleaned the registry, and done full scan's for virus and turned up nada.
    Thanks.
    D.

    As per the web site:
    There will be no update to Waterfox 25.0 as a bug causes Adobe Flash to crash on 64-Bit Windows 7 systems. Bug here. Although Firefox 25.0.1 is now available and we could build it, there would be no point of releasing a new version of Waterfox for only two weeks.
    I mostly only use Waterfox and had no problem in the past. I suspect a flash problem may be at the root of my problem however.
    As stated, I've performed (full) virus scans with MS Security Essentials. Also with Housecall, and also with HiJackThis. No problems detected.
    Screen shot of popup window attached.

  • Texting problem: Please re-send using a valid 10-digit number

    I've been having problems texting ever since I've upgraded to the latest firmware. When I try to text a person from my contacts, I get a text right back from 1 (121)611-611 : Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.
    I KNOW my contacts have 10 digits. I've double and triple checked that. The only way I can text is by going into the text window, open a new text, enter the 10 digit number and then write the message. It goes through fine. It even converts the 10 digit number to my contacts name when I do it like that and it sends.
    I also have this issue when I reply to texts! I try to reply but it doesn't go through.
    Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to fix this? I've tried a Restore, but it keeps happening.

    I'm not sure about your issues with Safari and such.
    On GSM-based phones, like the iPhone, you can store and use phone numbers in the international format. eg. +12025551212, +61411123456. That's with the + sign. The network should realise it is in the international format and handle it without a problem. Storing numbers this way allows people to travel to other countries and still make calls to people from the address book and not worry about the local international access code.
    Usually SMS messages are received with this form. Try sending an SMS using a number in this form.

  • Error Invalid Number - 7 digit number prevents future SMS messages

    I can't send SMS messages to one of my contacts at all.
    my contact had only 7 digits under "Mobile" phone because he was in my area code.
    I tried to send a text to him and got this response:
    "####### Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. <my text message>"
    The ####### was his 7-digit number from the contact info.
    So, I modified the contact info and put in the area code to make it 10-digits. I tried sending another text message, but that had the same exact response (with only 7 digit number).
    I cleared the messages for that contact and tried again, same result.
    I synch'ed my iPhone and then tried again, same result.
    My contact now has the correct 10 digit number, but whenever I try to send a SMS message to him I get the response with the 7-digit number saying Error Invalid Number.
    How can I fix this?

    Apparently the phone is wrongly remembering the shorter number, so try this. Edit the contact to put back the 7 digit number, but add a NEW phone number with the 10 digit code, and a different label, perhaps a custom label. Try sending an SMS to that new number. If it works, you can just delete the old 7 digit number entry entirely.

  • How do I stop msging from adding a "1" to a 10 digit number?

    How do I stop messaging from adding a 1 to a 10 digit number?

    It is clean, I set up the contacts card, and reentered the 10 digit number after the second fail message.
    I entered: xxxxxxxxxx  and the display on my contact card is (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
    Might the carrier-provider be the issue?
    Thank-you.

  • I'm trying to find the checksum but I keep getting a 9 digit number??

    I'm trying to write a method that will return the checksum of a file that is passed to it. I would like to compare this checksum to the checksum of a file stored in SVN source control. So far I have this bit of code that I'v cobbled together:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.zip.CheckedInputStream;
    import java.util.zip.CRC32;
    public class CreateCheckSumOfFile
        public long checkSum(String filePath)
         long checksum = 0;
            FileInputStream file = new FileInputStream(filePath);
            CheckedInputStream check = new CheckedInputStream(file, new CRC32());
            BufferedInputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(check);
            while (in.read() != -1)
                // Read file in completely
            checksum = check.getChecksum().getValue();
            return checksum;
    }I've tried a number of variations however I keep getting a 9 digit number. Why am I not receiving a 32 digit number? Since the checksum is a hexidecimal number shouldn't I be using a String? Any other pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Yes thanks you are correct. I was suppose to be calculating a md5sum. I didn't realize there was a difference. I've done some more searching and I've cobbled together some code that is working for me. I've created a method that receives a file path and then returns the md5sum of that file. The md5sums that this produced matched the ones generated by the perl md5sum.exe.
    package createchecksumoffile;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.security.MessageDigest;
    public class CreateCheckSumOfFile
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
         String filePath = "Enter your file path";
         String checksum = getMD5Checksum(filePath);
         System.out.println();
         System.out.println("Check Sum of: " + filePath);
         System.out.println(checksum);
         System.out.println();
        public static String getMD5Checksum(String filePath) throws Exception
         InputStream fileInputStream =  new FileInputStream(filePath);
         byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
         MessageDigest complete = MessageDigest.getInstance("MD5");
         int numRead;
         do{
             numRead = fileInputStream.read(buffer);
             if (numRead > 0)
              complete.update(buffer, 0, numRead);
         }while (numRead != -1);
         fileInputStream.close();
         String result = "";
         buffer = complete.digest();
         for (int i=0; i < buffer.length; i++)
             result += Integer.toString( ( buffer[i] & 0xff ) + 0x100, 16).substring( 1 );
         return result;
    }I hope this is helpful for someone else. I am very open to criticism of this. The only question I had was about the line:
    "byte[] buffer = new byte[1024]"
    Does this line create some type of file size limitation?
