Double installation : muvo v200 and zenmi

Hi ,
I'm new in mp3 player world and i bought one creative player : muvo v200 and installed it correctly;
In a second time i bought a Zen Micro and i wonder if i must install it with CD or simply connect it ?
If i install the Zen micro with cd , the first player muvo v200 will be recognizable as it does ?
And then i can use both players without any problems ?
thanks in advance for answers
Christian

You should always install the software from all your product CDs. Don't worry about double installation. The installation program will know whether to overwrite the files. For example, if the software that came with the Zen Micro is newer, than it will overwrite the same software that came with the MuVo v200. Different product CDs may also install different plugins for your different MP3 players.

• Petition: Programable play mode for MuVo V200 (and posibly othe

I would like to suggest ti include a programable play mode for MuVo V200 (and N200), I mean, a a play mode wich the user could select one-by-one songs on the MuVo and then the MuVo play those songs in the given order.
Creative may implement this by introducing virtual folders, folders that only contains references to the stored songs, so user could use the existing diferent play modes over those folders.
I think there's no technical reason that avoids this feature, but I know it may be not simple.
Thanks.
PD: Oh, of course I suggest Ogg Vorbis support, I don't care if my battery stands half time (WMV do it also, but no so hard), but I know Creative don't like Ogg Vorbis

The MuVo's don't have rescue mode, except for the MuVo?.

• Diffrence between Muvo V200 and TX

Hi.
Is there any significant diffrence between V200 and TX FM? I've looked the information about them in the web site, but I can't see them as two separate players (except that TX FM looks nicer). They seem to be about the same size and weight, and they seem to have same features as well.
Does anyone have experiences or just knowledge about these players?

Somehow my reply got lost. Here again - perhaps now twice.
Don't missunderstand my comment. The differences in sound quality are really minimal. But on the other hand the specifications point to better values at the TX FM too. But again - it took me one hour switching and listening to come to a verdict.
I read here about this problem with the light and the high sound and tried to check this on my player. Perhaps my ears are not so good but I could not hear anything - have the latest firmware. But don't blame me - I just tell you honestly how it is with my player. I just tried again - I cannot hear this sound and I have two players (one for my girlfriend). Perhaps I have a later model or really bad ears... Creative mentioned this problem here themselves - perhaps they fixed it in the meantime.
What I do not like so much is the switch between music play and radio. Without looking and switching in the menue this is not possible. In addition to this I do not like the volume switch - I would prefer a wheel instead of the buttons. I think it is a good idea to have earphones with volume control if you did not normalize all your songs.
So far I had no problems with both players. Work great with my OS Win98SE. The included Creative Media Source Software is a bit on the weak side. But at least you can even rip to WMA format without any problems - variable and fixed bit rates possible.
I really would recommend to go to the bigger memory size. At first a bought the 256. But I saw pretty quick that this is really a bit tight. And so my girlfriend has this now and I have the 52. And if you want to use high bit-rates check out the GB. I never saw it and have no glue how much more it might be. But on the other hand you might get in the price range of the HD based players. And there you can rip in WAV. Much better than MP3 or WMA. But never buy one with akku. You might have to replace the player to replace the akku - mostly. And avoid USB only charger. It is a bit boring to be somewhere without USB charging possiblity. And most places are like this ;-)

• MuVo V200 and the M-P

Hi,
I just bought the V200 a few days back. Since i have the Creative T7700 speakers, I was wondering if could connect the V200 to the M-Port connector on the T7700 remote.
Well, actually I already tried to do it - the player powers on, seems to play normally (there is sound coming from the earphones), but there is no sound coming from the speakers.
Does anyone have any idea how I could get it to play on the speakers? It would be really nice if it was possible to play Mp3s without turning on the PC.
The T7700 quick start guide states, that the M-Port is compatible with such players as Muvo NX (which is not much different from the V200), but there is no word in the V200 manual about the M-Port. Thanks in advance!

Crazyfists,
V200 does not support M-Port. What I can suggest is have the player connected through the line in of the speaker volume control pod.

• Double installation (laptop and desktop) team

as team member, does the members have still the opportunity to have a double installation (lap top and desktop) ?

So just to clarify this: like the OP: I use CC on my MacBook Pro and Mac Pro at home. At work, I had been using a 2009 iMac with CS5 installed on it. I just got them to let me buy a brand-new iMac, and I'd like to install CC on that.
So, is my assumption correct that I can install CC on 3 computers, and as long as it's only activated on 2 of them at any given time, it's fine?
Thanks for any info you can give me.

• MuVo V200 FAT32 vs. FAT/FAT16 (and VFA

Hi
I have just bought the MuVo V200 and it has firmware version .0.03e which I believe supports
FAT32 even thought the manual (out of date?) says it does not support FAT32.
Anyhow, are there any advantages of using FAT32 over FAT, since GB is not a massi've storage
space and I think therefore that FAT is probably better suited to the MuVo V200?
Also, by FAT does Creative mean FAT6? And furthermore, do they mean VFAT(?), (virtual FAT6)
which does support long filenames etc
Finally, I see some people have had their MuVos *freeze* on them; this is the worst news ever
and I do not want that to happen to me ever! So, is formatting to FAT32 more likely to cause
the unit to freeze? (or less likely? or no difference?)
Thanks in advance

If you've already tried a format (several times) and a firmware reload, then it's likely there is a hardware problem with the player. It would be best to contact Customer Support for assistance.

• MuVo V200 "dead" after updating firmw

I have a MuVo V200 and i tried to update it with MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__05_02.exe following the installation details provided.

What can i do? Plz help me...

• Soft screeching sound on Muvo V200 when backlight is on

Um, anyone pls help me... I just bought my Muvo V200 and the first time I on it, there's a soft screeching and disturbing sound.. But when the backlight off, the sound disappears.. When i press a button, the backlight ons and the same screeching sound comes out... The sound is like (YEEEEEEE)... PLease reply to me asap anyone.. Thanks.

Just disable the backlight if the sound bothers you. It is very easy. Just set the backlight time to zero. Using 32 ohm earphones rather than 6 ohm ones might make the backlight noise almost inaudible if you find a need to use the backlight.

• Zen MuVo V200 problem

My sister has the GB Zen MuVo V200 and hasn't filled the capacity yet, but the player won't allow her to put any more songs onto it.
It pops up a message saying that: "Your Music Library is corrupted and cannot be recovered. MediaSource will now revert to your most recent back-up available. Would you like to continue? Yes/No."
Even if I click Yes or No, I need to download some Microsoft jet pack software, I haven't a clue what it is!
I checked the properties of the player, and it says that 604MB is used space, and the free space is 389MB, so I should be able to put more songs on there. I am confused as to where the space has disappeared to. When trying to transfer songs, an error message pops up and says there is a transfer error has occured while transferring this file, and so it cancels the transfer. I think it has something to do with the amount of space, but I am not sure.
Sorry to be of a nuisance again, but is there anything that I can do?
Thanks again,
Vanessa.

As SSR has said, the PC Music Library error is a MediaSource problem.
The reason that you haven't managed to fill up your player is covered in SSR's FAQ post. Look for a section titled "I can't seem to fit any more files on my flash player yet I have free space, why?".

• HELP!!! MuVO V200 Fat32 NO RESPOND

I have big problem. I have MuVo V200 and i format it using FAT32. My Mp3 no responding. I can't format it to FAT/FAT6. My?system:?WINDOWS XP SP2. PLIZ HELP
!!! My mail: ">[email protected]

Try putting the V200 into Recovery Mode first. This is done by holding the play button and then connecting the V200 to your PC via the USB port.
When it is in Recovery Mode then try loading the V200 firmware.
To put it into Recovery Mode you might need these drivers:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ame=Windows+XP
Download and install these to your PC first.

• Muvo V200 vs. Muvo TX

What are the differences between the Muvo V200 and the Muvo TX FM? Thanks.

I tested both a long time when I bought one. With the SAME earphones the 200 seems to have the better radio sound and the TX FM the better MP3 sound. The earphones at the 200 seem to be a bit better.
Better in all this cases really means a very marginal difference. Without direct comparison it would be impossible to say this or that is better. I finally bought the TX FM since I mostly listen to MP3. But the FM sound is great too. On the other hand MP3 quality is a problem anyway...and FM quality anyway too... In both cases CD sound is not possible...
If you really want to check the quality take a WAV file. Creative says the players don't play wav but only MP3 or WMA. Just but the WAV file in the folder Voice and it will play. Then compare the wav file to the same MP3 file. It will show you what your player really can and MP3 not...
The functions for both players are the same - so at least I could not find any difference.
I am very happy with my player - so I bought a second one for my girlfriend. Look for a bigger memory size. 52 should be enough - at least for me it is almost too much. The price difference between the sizes is not so huge anymore but the real benefit is!!!
Battery life is great.
The earphones are a bit big - at least for the small ears of my girlfriend.
Don't lose the battery lid - it tends to go a different way than the player...
One more thing. Check the version of the player software and try to get the latest update. A player with version .2 has some problems. Update to .3. The update is easy. Just plug in the player and start the downloaded file and for the rest you will be asked for. Nothing to panic!Message Edited by stindlpeter on 02-03-2005 :46 AM

• Muvo V200 extreamly low vol

Hi, I have a Muvo V200 and have to have to volume on max all the time when playing mp3 (that's right on 40!). They are not of low quality (92 kbs) so that souldn't be it. I use the .0.03 firmware and have tried to d/l new firmware (from uk and asia) and format the dri've several times now, as I have read that some firmware have a limit to the volume settings. Now I need help, any suggestions?

I got my N200 yesterday and plugged in some old walkman headphones (didn't want to rip the bag on the new ones in case i didn't like the player). I couldn't hear anything. I cranked up the volume and could hear it as it got to about 25. I put in the supplied creative earbuds and noticed it was way better. However, i listen to rock music and i like it loud. I need the volume at least 35 for what i am used to. Sometimes i would argue full volume is not loud enough. I am in UK and haven't looked into whether i have the ;e; version.
To me, having the volume range as -40 is a complete waste of time -25 is pointless. It would take less scroller clicks if we had the traditional -0 (with larger increments) or even - for rock music (anyone remember Spinal Tap!)

• Muvo V200: noise when backlight is lit

Hi,
I have a Muvo V200 and it makes an annoying noise when the backlight is lit (ie: when changing track, navigating through the menu, when it's powered on,...).
I have the latest firmware. I heard it could be fixed by using a previous version of the firmware: anyone can confirm this ? If so, where can I find a version of the firmware that would not create this noise ?
Anyway, I hope it will be fixed in future firmwares !
Leo.

I do find it annoying but I don't want to turn off backlight. I don't have bought a player with a backlight to turn it off...
Btw, it seems the problem has already been reported almost two years ago on these forums: how come Creative did not come with a solution to the problem and, even worst: are still selling players that still have this problem today ?

• Muvo v200 cras

I have a muvo v200 and I had a problem with it: it couldn't play more than 238 files (weird)
if I upload more than 238 files it works well when connected to my pc but as I try to listen to files in my muvo some of them just disappear... I tried to format the muvo and now it doesn't work at all! if I try to switch it on it only says "file system error" and then *dies*
how can I do?
thanks

Flashdri've is not supposed to be formatted like hard dri've via Windows tools, that's why there's a special program for all MuVo series - MuVo Initializer. It's also written & highlighted in the manual guide.
Well, what can You do now? Try to figure out if Your warranty will cover & exchange this broken player. Ask SSR, Cat, Jeremy or Jason how You can do that. They are more informed about it than me. Or call Creative Customer Support. Good luck
