Double Names

In my Address Book I put the names in. Later certain ones double such as Brad becomes Brad Brad. I click edit and delete either the first or last then later it happens again.
I went into my preferences and set it to sort by first name. Format is Canada.
Have repaired Permissions and ran Onyx.
Any thoughts on this little "Mail" issue?

No. It's strange. I will click Edit and delete the last name or first as they are both the same. Close it then when I open it later the name will be doubled.
Only certain names do it. About 6 or 7. The same ones everytime.

I have checked rules for affected user and also affected Resource mailbox. But still didnt find the cause of double name of the user in Categorize.
    Any help, really appreciated.
    Thanks/

    Hi,
Could you please detail "double name of the user in Categorize"? What does it mean?
To explain this issue, you may provide a screenshot of the issue, and upload it to SkyDrive:
    https://skydrive.live.com/
Once you provide the link, we can access to the screenshot.
We may have the user try starting Outlook with the switch "/cleanrules" to try again:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanrules” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Note: This starts Outlook and deletes client-based and server based rules. You may export the rules you need before doing this.

  • FTP and double names

Is there any way of using iweb09 new ftp publishing to an FTP server, without ending up with a bizarre address i.e. in my case film41.co.uk/film41.
Not prepared to use it like this any ideas how to get round this?

Is there any way of using iweb09 new ftp publishing to an FTP server, without ending up with a bizarre address i.e. in my case film41.co.uk/film41.
The address you give to people is of course just film41.co.uk, right? So you are just not happy with what appears in the address bar of the browser? That's the way iWeb structures its sites. The "film41" reflects the name you gave the site inside iWeb, so you can make it shorter if you want. The only way to eliminate it is to manually go to the server and delete the folder with that name plus the index.html file alongs side it, so you are left with just the contents of the folder. You can also publish to a folder on your machine and use another ftp app to just upload the contents of the folder. RSS Subscribe buttons will be broken if you do that.

  • My phone book contact info transfer double names on contacts that have only 1 number

why are my contacts listed twice when i sync to my cars phonebook

ONly way is to restore your phone as new.  As a temp fix, just add a fictious name to the deleted number, so that way it doesn't show up when you enter that contacts name in message.

  • Double computer name on network and NAT issue with Back to My Mac

These are the problems I am having:
When my MacPro workstation (which on the network is named "The Beast") wakes from sleep - I get a message saying "there is already a computer on the network with the name "The Beast". Other computers on the network can now find you at "The Beast-2"" and it gives me a new name in the file sharing preferences - even though it is the only computer on the network with that name.
    Why is this happening???
The other problem is with BackTo My Mac - When I try to enable it - I get an error message saying "Turn off NAT Addressing" - which I thought was turned off since the AEBS is in Bridge Mode. Why is this happening?
Here is my network setup which consists of the Modem / Router from my ISP - an Airport Extreme Base Station and one Airport Express - which is connected to my MacPro via ethernet. The MacPro does not have an airport card installed and is running OSX 10.6.8 - all other computers / devices are running 10.7.x and iOS6).
VDSL Modem / Router (from Internet provider) with wireless turned off - (so it is not broadcasting a competing wireless signal) - connected via ethernet to my Airport Extreme Base Station.
Here are all the settings on the AEBS and the Airport Express: - I am using Airport Utility 5.6.1 on my Mac Pro running OSX 10.6.8 - so the setup prefs are different than the newer version of Airport Utility found on 10.7.x systems - but both work fine. Although I did notice that the option to allow ethernet clients to connect to the Airport Express does not exist (or I just didn't find it) in the newer version of Airport Utility.
Airport Extreme Base Station is set up as follows:
Wireless Mode: Create a Wireless Network
    Wireless Settings:
Allow this network to be extended IS CHECKED
    Radio Mode: 802.11n (b and g compatible)
    Wireless Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal
    Access Control:
MAC Address Access Control: Not Enabled
    Internet Settings:
    Internet Connection:
    Connect Using: Ethernet
    Connection Sharing: OFF (Bridge Mode).
    TCP/IP:
    Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    Advanced Settings:
    Logging & Statistics:
Syslog Destination Address is blank (as in nothing appears in this field).
    Syslog Level: 5 - Notice
    Allow SNMP is CHECKED
    MobileMe:
Back to my Mac is turned off - but if I try to turn it on I get an error message saying "Turn off NAT Addressing - which I thought was turned off since the AEBS is in Bridge Mode. Why is this happening?
    IPv6:
    IPv6 Mode: Link-local only
As stated - my MacPro with no wifi card -  is connected via ethernet to an Airport Express which connects wirelessly to the AEBS for network and internet access.
    Airport Express Settings:
    Airport Settings:
Wireless Mode: Join a Wireless Network
    Allow Ethernet Clients IS CHECKED
    Wireless Security WPA/WPA2 Personal
Internet Settings: Are grayed out (as in I can't change these settings - I assume because they are being controlled by the AEBS) and read as follows:
    Connect Using: Wireless Network
    Connection Sharing: OFF (Bridge Mode)
    TCP/IP:
    Configure IPv4: using DHCP
All other settings are identical to the AEBS.
All other WiFi devices in the house (MacBook Pro, iPhones, iPad's, iMac, Apple TV, Nintendo Wii etc…all are able to connect to the network and connect to the internet - no problem.
Thanks for any insights into what might be causing the double name on the network and why it is asking me to turn off NAT addressing - when both my Airport devices are in Bridge Mode?

I am also having this issue... any updates on this??

  • Automatic double domain name prevents podcasts from working correctly

I recently uploaded a new podcast to itunes and I get the following error when I try to download the newest entry.
Message: There was a problem downloading "What Kind of Host Are You?".
The URL "http://www.coths.org/coths.org/Media/20090607_Entire.mp3" could not be found on the server.
Since iWeb automatically includes the site name (coths.org) in the file location and my FTP host points the site to the file (which eliminates the double name) the two locations do not match.
The website is www.coths.org and the podcast can be found under resourses, then podcast.
Basically I need to eliminate the 2nd coths.org somehow.
    Any assistance is much appreciated.

Basically I need to eliminate the 2nd coths.org somehow.
It's your failure to upload the whole site, including the folder called coths.org, which is causing your problem. Complete iWeb sites, where everything functions, include the sitename folder. You can change the sitename to "c" or whatever and republish to avoid the duplication.

  • IWEB - web.me  -site name contains duplicate entries in the name

After having link problems in my site, I deleted all entries and republished by selecting "Publish Entire Site". The site was rebuilt, but instead of the site name being http://web.me.com/membername/Welcome.html
    it is
    http://web.me.com/membername/http__web.me.commembernamey/Welcome.html
The site name displayed in iWEB and the Mobile Me site publishing settings is correct. I have tried to rename and republish the site, but the duplicate name still exists?????

you will always see double names.
The only reason it is "double" is because You gave your site the same name as your url, instead of something short and simple.
Wish there was a solution that the data is saved in the directory itself and not in the sub.
You can ask Apple to offer that option here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html
But I think it's unlikely because truncating the site structure like that makes the RSS Subscribe links on blog pages non-functioning.

  • The names of the bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar appear twice.

This just started yesterday. On my bookmarks toolbar, the names of each bookmark appear twice. For example, my CNBC bookmark now says CNBC CNBC. All of them have taken on this format. I've tried renaming them, deleting them, removing toolbar and putting it back on, nothing seems to work. They always come back with double names. Any help would be appreciated!

If you only want the names of the bookmarks then export the bookmarks to an HTML file and open that file in Firefox and copy and paste the text (Ctrl +A and Ctrl +C) to a plain text editor like Notepad that doesn't know about HTML code.

  • Computer name corruption?

Problem: I changed the computer name some time ago, and have lived with a problem since. New Computer name is correct in Preference/Sharing ("NewMacName"), but the name on the computer icon in Finder shows BOTH new name and old name, i.e., "NewMacName OldMacName". The double name appears on the icon in the finder, but "Get Info" for the icon shows the new name (with read only permissions)? This happens at the root level, also. What do I do to completely erase the old name and show only the new name. (The computer is networked to a Macbook through a Linksys wireless setup with works just fine, but the old name appears in listings there, too.)

I believe that info is in...

You can trash it, reboot, and setup your prefs again, or edit it with Property List Editor if you have it.

  • 8130 sync. with outlook07 no multi first names will transfer over.

When trying to import contact address data from outlook 07 using desktop software 4.3+ if you have multiple first names (Jeane ANN) OR two names making up one contact (Jack & Jill) the transfer will only bring over the first name even though I have verified that the entire double name is located within the first name data field in outlook.
Should anyone have a solution or work around  i'm all ears.
    Thanks

I am having a similar but reverse problem.
If I enter a First name made of two words (e.g. Mary Ann) on my Blackberry (9800 Torch and also 9000 Bold), it will go on being seen as such on the handheld.
But if I synchronize the handheld with Outlook 2010 (From Handheld to Outlook), Mary wil be put in Outlook's First name, and Ann will be put in the Middle name.
I hope RIM sets things right.

  • 1 user 2 names - potentially causing issues

Apparently I managed to have created one user with 2 names:
    - h32PM
    - h32pm
I also made h32PM an Cyrus admin in the /etc/imapd.conf file, as it was the intended.
    My Question:
How do I properly delete h32pm and remove all its data and records?
PS the user is only used regarding email

To be more specific regarding my issue:
    I have 1 user h32PM, but I have 2 inboxes:
    /var/spool/imap/user/h32pm
    /var/spool/imap/user/h32PM
The difference between both of them is the capitalisation
    My question:
How to rectify the situation so that there is only one mailbox.
I've tried using sirAdmin, but I wasn't succesfull
I want to just delete one of the two folders, but how save is that??
    Additional question:
When looking to my other users, I notice that all their user names are in non capitalised letters while their user names are capitalised. Is that the correct behaviour?
PS In the end I try to resolve the quota calculation on my mail server: According to threats on this forum I need to resolve 2 issues:
    - no double names (h32pm vs h32PM)
    - all users should have a quota, regardless the fact whether they need quota

    Bruce,
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the WSDL was generated by querying the URL
of the deployed webservice. If there is something missing from the WSDL,
it may be due to servicegen, or a problem with deployement. All of this
used to work in WLS 7.0 sp1.
I submitted this case (459937) to BEA Support on 11/12/03 and have given
them my EJB jar file so they can reproduce the problem using servicegen.
I would appreciate any input you can provide to resolve this problem, but
you can let Support handle it from here if you wish.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
Could you clarify your starting point; i.e. do you begin with WSDL or
    from java?
In looking at your WSDL, on the surface I'm concerned that the imports
should be something like <xsd:import namespace="..."
schemaLocation="myschema.xsd"/> so it may not be including your
    definitions.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

  • Multiple user mapping challenge, without an AD.

    Dear IdM gurus,
I have a challenging situation here and was wondering whether anyone else has made experiences with it.
We have the usual collection of ERP ABAP systems + BW + BI Portal + some non-SAP systems which we want to connect to a central IdM. There is however no HR nor org structure data available, nor any legacy CUA used.
Now the bugger is that there is no AD in this network either... The closest thing to it is a Novel directory server for a subset of the users to access their own mails. The rest are authenticated only physically and via their UID + PWD credentials in the local systems.
As a result of this, there are people who have a multiple of different user ID names in each system. Each of them are impacted by at least 2 different UID names. Some of them might even have 5 different UID names for 5 different systems. There is no central system which contains a full set of all UIDs.
A good dose of data cleansing would be the best... but for the ABAP systems and other workflow type of topics and time pressure this would be rather disruptive to the running systems.
What I have seen discussed before is creating an "AccountName" ATTRIBUTE for each of the respositories and then overwriting the IdM MSKEYVALUE with it (if found) when provisioning a role or password to that repository.
I have however not been able to find any documented solutions relating to this, nor any API available for it either?
I am also wondering what the "gotchas" are, from anyone who had done this already? (Like delta jobsfor loading new data from managed systems, or subsequent unique UIDs whose names might collide with the AccountName attribute of an old UID, or impacts later on for SAML 2.0 Single-Sign-On, etc).
    Cheers,
    Julius

    Hello Julius,
    <br/><br/>
that is quite a challenge you got there. But there a several things you can do.
How many systems (including different clients) do you have? Maybe you could also start with a subset of the ABAP-systems, too.
    <br/><br/>
First of all is the question, what is the leading system for the creation of users by now. If possible, put the IdM in charge of that in the future. Hopefully everyone agrees on that.<br/>
So you have done the Initial Load and there a several tables in the database with all users and their UIDs of each system. You need now to figure out how the persons and their users in the IdM shall be created and how the individual accounts of each persons will be consolidated. <br/>
If possible, make an Excel list of persons with their usernames in all systems. OK, it would be sure annoying to everybody, to fill out excel list, but that would be the easiest way for you, and the savest. Even if you could only gather 50% of all employees that's quite a bunch then.<br/>
If this is not or only partly possible, figure out how at least, let's say, 99% can be merged correctly. Firstname, lastname, mail is a good start. More attributes can be cost center personal number, company address, telefon number not to forget.
Then I would write me a script or better an sql statment for a view, which tries to merge the user accounts into one person each. Not easy and time consuming in additon, but I guess that's worth it.<br/><br/>
Then create the users. The ACCOUT<system name> atributes, which are created in the ToIdentityStore passes of each Initial Load of each target system hold all account names of a person. Thee will no need to change these. What you need to do for the MSKEYVALUE of the IdM to ensure that there are no problem, is as follows. Define a hierarchy of all systems. You mentioned the edirectory. I would place it in the first position. Then descending depending on the importance in the company and/or number of users.<br/>
Why you need this? Well, assume there is a user named millera in ERP and one in BW, but they are not the same person. If your hierarchy says ERP before BW, the millera of the ERP will be the MSKEYVALUE of that person. The MSKEYVALUE of the other millera has to be set to a different username. For this, you have to detect if the BW millera has another username avaliable, if so, check if this can be the one for the MSKEYVALUE. The fallback strategy for the initial creation of the MSKEYVALUE of all existing users in the IdM as well as of the MSKEYVALUE of all future person would be like: Built a view upon all user tables AND the SENTRIES (and OENTRIES if you want to cover all "deleted" persons) view MSKEYVALUEs (of persons, requests for persons, pendings on persons, etc.). In this view there are now all usernames. Combine them, in that view, with the repository. During the initial writing of users in the Identity Store use this view to check the names.<br/><br/><br/>
A wee bit easier is the creation of completly new employees. Use a rule (script-based!) to create the username, with a combination of surname, givenname and middlename and if needed numbers, or whatever comes to your mind. During the creation script do a check on the view created. If that username already exists continue the script. Oh, and take care of lastnames of nobels like "von, van, del, dos, ..." or double names, wtc. Not to mention umlaute, graves, accents or even chinese, cyrillic or other nice things which can mess up the creation of users in the target systems.<br/><br/>
One last hint: Use the test mode check box in the ToIdentityStore pass(es) to avoid creation of users, etc. in the Identity Store until everything is fine.<br/>
I do not know if anyone found a better solution, but that should be a good plan to start upon.<br/><br/>
    Best regards<br/><br/>

  • Need some help with a split package

Basically, I'd like to have some code in my PKGBUILD that will append some extra info to the package name based on a file the user defined.  This is for kernel26-ck and the file I speak of is the .config he/she makes.  Below is the code that doesn't work and I think it doesn't work because the name of the package is the name of the package_name() {} function and both of of these have to match the pkgname array.  What I want is to have the pkgname array get generated dynamically based on the code below which starts before the make command in the build section.  Advise is appreciated.  Is what I'm asking for possible?

    ## BFQ
    # read, http://algo.ing.unimo.it/people/paolo/disk_sched/
    ## MAKEMENUCONFIG OPTION
    # Allow you to select additional kernel options prior to a build via a menuconfig.
    ## STREAMLINE_CONFIG OPTION
    # Similar to a make localmodconfig but this actually works!
    # WARNING - make CERTAIN that all modules are modprobed BEFORE you begin making the pkg!
    # read, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=830221#p830221
    # to keep track of which modules are needed for your specific system/hardware, give my module_db script.
    # a try: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41689
    # Not that if you use my script, this PKGBUILD will auto run the reload_data base for you to probe
    # all the modules you have logged!
    ## USE CURRENT KERNEL'S .CONFIG
    # Enabling this option will use the .config of the RUNNING kernel rather than the ARCH defaults.
    # Useful when the package gets updated and you already went through the trouble of customizing your
    # config options. NOT recommended when a new kernel is released, but again, convenient for package bumps.

@Allan - can you see any other potential down sides of implementing the patch suggested by nous?  What about dependency issues?  For example, nvidia-ck depends on kernel26-ck, not kernel26-ck-core2.  Perhaps circumvent this with a provides=('kernel26-ck-headers') for headers and provides=('kernel26-ck') for the main package?
