Try soft reset the phone by pressing and holding volume keys and power button together for 10-15 mins the phone vibrates and restarts. This won't delete any of the information from the phone.

  • Multiple issues with Nokia Lumia 920

I bought my NL920 about one month ago (Telstra). It had been working flawlessly up until a few days ago.
The first issue I noticed was the back, start and search buttons were no longer being illuminated, no matter what. I tried multiple soft resets to no success. I just left it, thinking nothing of the problem.
A day or so after I noticed the issue with the backlight, two more strange things began to occur:
Tilt doesn't work at all. The screen doesn't rotate when the phone is flipped, and it doesn't seem to recognise tilting whatsoever (noticed this when I attempted to play Doodle Jump).
And second issue is apps are crashing as soon as they are launched. This doesn't happen with every app on the phone, but it occurs while trying to use some of my most used apps (Facebook and Camera are the main ones). I can't launch the camera app at all, and the side button doesn't work either.
I tried a hard reset in an attempt to resolve these issues, but all three issues are not fixed at all.
I have no idea what to do now. I've never dropped the phone, it's always been look after well. I am 99.9% sure it isn't something physical.
These issues all seem to have came after updating some apps (Extras & Info was one of them I believe). Could that be the problem?
Swapping the phone for a new one would be a last resort.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I just reset it, didn't work unfortunately. Looks like I'm going to have to replace it.
Would I just have to take it to my Telstra shop and let them deal with it? Or can I send it to Nokia directly?
    Thank you.

  • Issue with Internet Explorer on Lumia 920 Windows ...

The built-in Internet Explorer browser can't handle drop-down menus. On touch, the options are shown, the menu rolls out, but when lifting finger, it rolls back instantly so you can't make a choice. If trying to move finger to the sub-menu, the entire screen moves with the menu title fixed under your fingers, as when shifting a web page sideways. So the sub menu again can't be accessed. If using two fingers, the browser doesn't respond when selecting the sub menu. If pressing too long (>1 second) you're asked to share the link on e.g. Twitter... There seems to be no way of accessing the sub menu. So now I'm eternally logged on to LinkedIn since the logout is in an inaccessible drop down menu. Any way to solve this issue? When will this Internet. Explorer error be fixed? It's been there for months now.(May 2013)

I have the same issue on my lumia 920, love the phone but this is such a nightmare and pretty bad, considering the competition like i phone and Motorola g have no problems like this, plus its pretty embarrassing, i need this access for work, if there is no fix i may have to switch to another brand

  • Audio/Microphone Issue - Lumia 920

I suddenly have an audio and microphone issue with my Lumia 920 which I've had for two months.
Regarding the microphone, people are suddenly having a tough time hearing me speak into the phone in conversation.
Regarding the audio, the noise from playing video is working, but I can not hear any music.  The music is running, but no sound.
    Very frustrating problems.
    Thanks for any help.

I think Nokia is taking this issue way too lightly.  It is now a rampant problem with the 920.  People just cannot hear me when I make or receive a call.  I do not have any protective case that would interfere with the microphone function etc.
I have searched the issue - and it is becoming a common problem that people have a hard time hearing you on a call - unless, that is, if you use speaker phone function.
Is Nokia going to address this issue - or keep treating it as a non-issue?  I have requested a replacement from AT&T - but I anticipate the same issue coming up with it.  I would rather not have my phone replaced - especially if Nokia/MS could issue an update that solves this issue.
    Thanks

  • "Local Network Operator" on my Lumia 920

I know many of Lumia 920 users have similar issue. Is there a proper solution from Nokia???

I've seen this issue on UK Lumia 920 (and 820) when used with a virgin mobile sim card.
Some have said getting a new micro sim solves the problems whilst others say the upcoming major update in February solves it. May also help if you have the latest version of "Network+" and "access point" installed on the phone which you can get from this link:

  • Can't charge Lumia 920 via usb in car

I can't charge my Lumia 920 via usb in the car. There is nothing wrong with the cable, and I've also tried several other cables. There is nothing wrong with the car either, because it works fine on my boyfriends phone (Samsung Galaxy). It also works on my old HTC Desire.
And it also works to charge my Lumia 920 via usb on my laptop, so there's nothing wrong with my phone either.
    Any suggestions??

As not a Nokia accessory it could not be recommended in case of warranty issues, but if Lumia 920 running Drive draws more current than 750mA that CR-200 supplies http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/phones/phone/cr-200/specifications/ then use of an iPad car charger in accessory socket delivering 2.1 Amp should manage to net charge device battery whilst it is consuming >1 Amp in Drive mode.

  • Nokia lumia 920 sound issues

I have a problem with the sound of my Nokia Lumia 920. I bought the phone back in June, this issue have only just start. The sound works when i get a text message, email and other notifications, it doesn't work when i play music or games, even when i type on the keyboard it just doesn't make any sound. I hope someone can help me with this problem. Thank you

    hi mate,
have you got the Portico update installed (check via Settings > Phone Update). also check that you are fully up to date with all the latest Nokia system apps in the Store. failing that, you can try soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates).

  • Lumia 920 Flash Glare Issue

Hi, I just bought a Lumia 920 but I've noticed a problem while taking pictures in total darkness.
I can clearly see a coloured reflection moving on the screen while the camera tries to focus (with the assist led) and then, that glare, is visible in the saved picture.
Attached there is a picture with this problem.
Do I have a defected phone?
    PS
I'm not a photographer, I'm only trying to guess

    hi,
I've made some tests and the results are not good for me.
Currently there isn't any update and I think that this could be a hardware problem.
I'm attaching my current software version info and two pictures taken in the same light conditions but with and without flash.
Tomorrow I will go back to the store, hoping for a replacement as I'm in the first 10 days from the bought.
Could it be an issue with the white model? Or an entire fault batch?
    Thanks, good night.

  • Nokia Lumia 920 potential battery drain issue?

Can you Nokia confirm this? http://reach.jdbpocketware.com/topic/128305-to-nokia-ref-lumia-920/
    The issue illustrated in detail:
    Nature of Windows Phone buttons
Pressing either the power button or the camera button will cause the device screen to turn on, even when the proximity sensor detects proximity.
    The lockscreen behavior
Upon power on, screen lights up and shows the lockscreen (or camera), which runs a timeout to auto power off the device if screen is not touched in X seconds.
But if screen is touched, the timeout counter is restarted, so continuous touching could lead into a loop, the "death loop" which won't let the device to power off (standby) and will consume battery life.
    New touchscreen technology
The Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a touchscreen that reacts to touch from pretty much any material such as metal or clothes. This can be dangerous.
    So here is a theory
When the phone is inside a pocket or bag it can be touched by other objects. These objects can press buttons and can touch/rub the screen. This will initiate the "death loop" for who knows how much time, could be minutes or hours, depends on how active the user is since body movement will produce friction between objects/clothes and touchscreen:
The "death loop" will drain battery and battery is precious.
    Solution?
Should be simple: screen must not power on if the proximity sensor detects proximity. Current version of Windows Phone does not take care of this. The big question is: will Windows Phone 8 take care of this? Is the Lumia 920 a potential battery drainer?

I don't understand why we have to spend our valuable time in the forums for days and nights to FIND HOW TO FIX THAT CRAB!! NOKIA company did not handout these devices FOR CHARITY.All of us had paid around a thousand dollars to buy this Phone. They have got to work overtime to fix it and publish a solution otherwise recall the devices back.

  • Nokia Lumia 920 loads of issues after Denim update...

Everything functions well, but after updating it to Lumia Denim + Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 I first got some weird installing issues, then it started randomly crashing, then it worked fine again, of-course it won't back-up as usual (so no hard-resseting for me), and the live folders seem buggy for no reason at all, but for some reason whenever I attempt to create a live folder it takes me 5 minutes and it won't ''accept it''.
Also for some reason there is no ''Hey Cortana'' or maybe this simply isn't for the Nokia Lumia 920.

Hi, TulaTheQuang. You may try checking if there is any update on the phone system apps by going to Store >... > settings > check for updates and see if these will fix the problem. If not, try rebooting your phone by holding the volume down and power keys at the same time for 10-15 seconds, release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time on the phone. Let us know what will be the outcome. For the availability of Hey Cortana, you may refer to this link: Will I get “Hey Cortana” voice activation after Lumia Denim update?. Link is applicable regardless of your region.
Regarding your concern about the calendar, gilesrm74. The feature is currently unsupported on the device, but you may post your concern on this link: windowsphone.uservoice.com as a feature suggestion. • Nokia Lumia 920 issues after latest update. Fix in...

Since the last update we are having massive problems on our Lumia 920 from ATT. Bad reception, losing Internet connection, etc.
We have over 30 920 deployed in our company. We did tests with and without the new patch and its like day and night.
Sitting in my office, i have 1-2 bars on the phone with updates, showing 4g, but cannot access any website.Plus constantly losing connection.
On the phone without update I have 2-3 bars, showing LTE and constant internet access.
It is horrible. We first thought it was related to the Access Point Software, but it is definitively the firmware.
Please fix asap. Not good advertising for those awesome phones.

This issue has already been covered on several threads on this forum. The update was found to cause issues on AT&T and was pulled part way through it's roll out. A fresh update is being prepared that fixes the issues. For more information contact AT&T or Nokia US.
