Double text and photos

When viewing articles mostly on the web I see the text jumbled up. Like there are Two transparencies of the same thing laid over each other. If I hold and drag over the section it clears it up but moves to another section of the same page. I have a jpeg I Grabed but don't know how to enter it here. Thanks Rick

One way to post a photo or screenshot is to load it onto a free photo sharing site like Flickr and then post a link to it.
I sometimes have the same problem with text superimposed on text--don't really have a solution for that, but very likely someone else does. You could try a Safe Boot, and see if this helps. A Safe Boot will empty some temporary font caches, and might help if that is a contributing factor:

You mean while creating a book in iPhoto? Click on the layout button while viewing a page and select the layout that includes both text and photos. Most themes will have those options.

Did I lose my texts and photos

On Friday the 10th I restored my phone to factory settings. On Saturday I added my contacts back in and I received some important texts and took some important photos. On Sunday when I attached my phone to my laptop iTunes gave me 2 choices....start as new phone or restore to 10/10? I chose the latter b/c I had just restored as factory (new phone) and didn't want to do that again but what really happened was it restored everything to the way it was before I restored it to factory settings. So my question is are those important texts and photos that I received and took on Saturday gone forever or is there a way to get them? I did not sync my phone in between and when I log on to iCloud.com there are no photos but I'm not sure if that's b/c of something I did or b/c of IOS8.

You shouldn't lose these by changing the Apple ID on your phone. However, you should be importing your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and backing up your contacts by syncing them with iCloud (Settings>iCloud>Contact>On), with a supported program using iTunes (such as Outlook, Windows Contacts or mac Address Book), or by using an app like My Contacts Backup.
Also, even after changing the Apple ID on your phone in Settings>Store you will still have to enter the password for his ID when updating apps purchased with this ID. (Apps and their updates are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them originally.)

Page Text and Photos dissapear when I Publish

Here is a new problem I am encountering and wondering if there is anyone who knows how to resolve this. I have one certain page on my website that when I publish it to the desktop, and open it, the page header is there, but all the text and photos are gone. I'm using the "black" theme and I believe I used the welcome template. The page consists of a text box and photos, using the media place holders. The text is just white arial font, like on all my other pages. Since this is a page full of people writing in to the website, the correspondence from each person is separated by a graphic line. I have used the graphic line on other pages to separate want ads and on those pages, I am not having a publishing problem. I have already recreated this page from scratch once. It published fine a few times then one day all the text and pictures have disappeared again. Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong? I've tried deleting the cashe and we've tried "repair permissions - disk utilities."

I did a test and think I have found a clue on what is going on. I carefully recreated the original page from scratch first with text only. I published it to make sure the text would publish. Then I added the photos back to the page using the image placeholders. I then published again and both text and photos are still there. Next, I duplicated the page, called it Mail Page #2, and noticed as soon as the page was duplicated, the section with text and photos now has a "text Imaging Indicator" on it in that section. the original page does not have that indicator. When I published the site again and this page now is publishing blank (all black, text and photos missing; only the header remains and that actually is a text w/shadow, so its an image). The original page where the imaging indicator did not turn on, that page is still publishing normally. So this has something to do with iWeb converting that section that has text and pictures, into an image. Other than that, I am still at a loss as to why it happens or how to avoid it. If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. I will post back if I have additional info.

How can I retrieve texts and photos from a lost iPhone without backup?

I recently lost my iPhone at a concert and unfortunately, it was never connected with iCloud, nor was it backed up to iTunes. I got a new iPhone and connected it to iTunes. I have my contacts (taken from my sister's iPhone) and voicemails, but nothing else. I would really like my old text messages and photos, but have no idea what to do in order to get them. Let me get this straight.....You lost your phone. You never backed it up, either to your computer or to a cloud service.
How in the world would you expect to get data back?

I don't understand what eats my data to give me overage. I don't play games, or use apps, except texting and photos, I have facebook but rarely use it or read it, I try to clear and close anything opened

I don't use any apps maybe once in a blue moon google a question. no games or navigation, don't shop, I do have facebook, but rarely use it.because I look on computer. Just because you do not use an app does not mean it is not doing something in the background.
Facebook, for example... If you have used it one time it can be uploading any photos/videos you take with your phone on a regular basis even if you don't open it up again. Have you checked your settings in these apps to only sync while on wifi. This can cause a lot of data usage if you did not.
If you don't feel you need the app, either delete it or disable it.
Once you open an app the first time, it is activated and unless you make sure the app settings are such that you will not use a lot of data, you should assume they will. Especially apps which have the capability to upload photos/video from your phone.

If you tried using Apple's Messages app, that requires a Mac running Lion with the Messages app installed, or an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch running iOS 5.0 or later with iMessage activated and enabled on the device along with having a internet connection.
Other than that, there may be a 3rd party app via the iTunes app store that may provide for this. Depending on the make of your son's phone if not an iPhone, there is at least one 3rd party app available with the iTunes app store with an Android and Blackberry version of the app.

If there's no backup, then there is nothing to restore.
In iTunes, under Edit > Preferences > Backups it should list the name that was assigned to the device.

How do I print a blank card on Iphoto all options seem to have text and photos inside

I have tried to find just a plain blank photo card 5x7. There is one that has a blank cover but in the folded area there seems to be no blank option they all have photo inserts and text inserts???? It seems that you can delete the text boxes but I cant seem to delete the photo insert boxes

The question of making and having printed a photo book has been asked more than a few times now. It seems like a good idea. Perhaps you might provide that suggestion directly to Apple on their iPhoto for iOS Feedback page here

Appleworks putting text and photo in an email

I am a new jack to the Mac world.
I have been trying to place a saved online photo within the body text of an email I wish to send out. So that the photo appears within the body text of the email when opened.
I do not want to send the picture as an attachment.

This isn't really an AppleWorks question, more of a Leopard one (or Mail and Address Book): however -
A picture added to an email is an attachment. If you place it within the text, most modern email clients will display it within the text: but a few will simply display it as an attachment with an icon. This is a matter of the capabilities of the receiving email client, or how it is set up by its user, and there isn't anything you can do to change that.

Can a new page/window be "zoomed in" automatically, text and photos?

when opening a new Safari window, the default mode will do. however, if i click the "Zoom in" button (not text only--the entire page), whatever page i am currently opening is MUCH more balanced---i.e.--perfect font size, no text overlapping the photos, no text disappearing into thin air, a widening of the page so there's no inch of white space in the left and right margins......
no matter how i try to recreate that with standard font sizes, or "never use fonts smaller than", it just never works out right. i cannot seem to duplicate what i just get from hitting the darn zoom in button one time. i would have no problem doing that in the beginning as i surf and continuing on from there, but i am a HEAVY tab user (very often 10-30 tabs open at once), so that scenario doesn't work for me. i basically need a script or terminal command to have the pages open with one zoom in click already done for me.
btw, this is currently being done on my MacBook, 1280x800, Monaco standard font size 20, no fonts smaller than 12. but the same scenario would work on my iMac (i don't have it's specs right now).
any ideas on how i could try to accomplish something like this? or muck with the display/font sizes to replicate this? i've tried for years.......never really thought to post it.

I haven't tried the extension, tho saw what seemed to be little/no instructions (hey, it's free & fairly nichey)
I guess it's using javascript to inject a style into the page, based on domain matches; so presumably a case (for your purposes) of two or more styles being entered in the extension & matching one to ebay.* & & certain others, while having another that fits everything else - or perhaps relying on the main user css for that & zooming sub 100% on the target sites.
I hope it works out.

Receiving daughter's texts and photos

My daughter uses my old iPhone 3 with the latest iOS 6.1.6 software. I've changed to an iPhone 5. I gave her a new iTunes account under her own ID and password and linked all funtions on her iPhone3 that I could trace over to the her account. However, I keep receiving her text messages and vice versa, and also I keep seeing her photos in my iCloud storage. Any ideas what I should do?

Sounds like you're still sharing an Apple ID for iCloud use. You need to use her separate Apple ID for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime. In Settings/Messages and Settings/FaceTime log out of the ID on her device and log back in under her new ID.
Alternatively, on each device go to Settings for iMessage and FaceTime and change your contact points used for receiving and sending messages, just make sure you're not using the same e-mail address (which may be your shared ID).

You should have been importing all pics taken with the iphone regularly as you would any digital camera, most especially before any update.
If for some reason you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone. You can try restoring from backup.
