second asking of same question. when i open firefox, i get 2 pages, one stacked on top of other. bottom page has mozella firefox, and all i can see is very top. top page has normal stuff,PLUS something called new tab in top left [as you look at screen.] this thing is takeing up too much of my screen, PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it!!!

Ok will check, as of right now I have 82.57gb free, that's plenty of space will check the disk though using disk utility. Also I am now downloading the update from the apple website instead of going through software update

iMac refurb (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), SL & ML, G4 450 MP w/Leopard, 9.2.2

The History tab at the top of the screen. When I click it it shows history but it shows the same thing every time and wont change. Even when i click "all history" and delete it it is still there. How do i delete it?

Could you be specific where the files to fix this are?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Try this - Assumes Windows 7 (you didn't say what OS your are using):
Turn Off the printer.
Start > search / type, then click on "Control Panel" > icon view > Administrative Tools >
Services > Click on "Name" to sort by name > Scroll down, look for "Print spooler" > Stop
Leave that Services window open...
Open a Windows Explorer window:
Start > search / type, then click on "Windows Explorer" > type / paste in the title bar (to the right of the <--> arrows C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Alternatively, you can poke at each folder name (Windows > System32...) until you get to the folder named PRINTERS
Remove (delete) all the files you see in that folder directory.
(Highlight > Right-Click > Delete)
Go back to the Services window:
"Restart" the Print spooler service
NOTE: If you cannot stop / start the spoolsv service, try Right-Click on services and "Run as Administrator" to give you permission to control the services.
Unplug the printer, wait a bit (One minute), plug it back in...turn it on.
NOTE: There may be a buffer cache clear selection on the Printer - you could check on the front panel of the Printer Menu. Try this in the event that you cannot get to the outlet to unplug the printer OR try it in place of unplugging the printer. Choice.

HT1725 I rented an iTunes movie Prometheus on Sunday over AppleTV and it kep sottping after a minute or so and spinning trying to buffer. I tried everything same thing 5 times and then I gave up 5 minutes into the movie. My Apple TV and Netflix Movies

What am I doing wrong? I have hi-speed cable internet and N wireless WiFi.

There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"

As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

Run permissions, it says repaired, but not repaired. get list of same error every time.

when i run repair permissions, i get a 2 page list of the same fault in itunes. it than says they were repaired but i get the same thing each time i run it. reinstalled itunes, no help.

I would not be concerned. These are errors generated because the version of Disk Utility you are using or the installed software database do not have information about the files. They will be repeated every time you repair permissions. Just ignore them.

I did the same thing this time, again, trying to make an Shortcut to one of the folders inside SecurityAgent so i duplicated it to my desktop then made the shortcut and when trying to replace it it said Authenticate, so i did, the it said replace, so i did, then some error came up and told me it couldn't replace it or something; but it was still there so i log out and was going to log into root, seeing that the file was there, but i checked in Single User Mode and apparently some of the files got deleted but not all of them so it won't let me log in... Again.
So what is the commands to rename SecurityAgent.app in the CoreServices to something else, and how to move SecurityAgent.app in my Desktop, which is in /Users/(my short name)/Desktop/

My external hard drive is 'seen' by my iMac and I can go into the Finder and open files and folders. I am using the hard drive for Time Machine back up. However Time Machine says it can't find the drive. Same thing has happened with Final Cut Express.

You cannot have time machine backups on your hard drive if you intend to use it in FCPX.

Firefox will not fully load and run anymore just out of the blue when I click to run it it just sits and does not respond I have totally uninstalled and reinstalled this many times and it still does the same thing why would it stop working?

When I booted my computer up from cold and click firefox to run it sat there and tryed to load instead it sits there and does the nor responding thing. I have totally uninstalled the program a few times and re installed a new download and the same thing happen. I can not run firefox any longer and i have run it everyday for a very long time. This seems to be the only program with an issue.

None of the stuff in " http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite " helps. I have tried and tried and I have even wipe the computer clean still didn't help. I got the same problem as he/she has got in the first posted. Can add some web pages but not all the web pages I want.. I should have never updated to 3.6.13... That's when it all started for me, from that version..... Now Version 3.6.14 is out, I was hoping the version 3.6.14 might would fix the problem wrong again....
Funny thing is i can not even Bookmark Firefox.com!!!!!...lol
So any ideas on how to fix it other than the link giving would help.

Have you tried a Reset (No Data will be Lost)
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

This gets confusing, you have two Macs with different issues and two pedals with different issues? First let's sort out what's what. So, do the issues come from the pedals or from the Mac software? To find out, simply switch the pedals and note their behaviour. No change: it's the software, change: it's the pedals (imho the most likely scenario).
Second, what kind of pedals are they? Can you name the type of pedal too? The Yamaha what and the Mgear which?
Third, with the 4 fold data problem, are the doubled events simultaneous, or a few ticks apart, or more?
Also, you have no MIDI keyboard? Are the pedals both "standalone"?
I think you have to sort this problem at its' source, which are the pedals. You could, if push really comes to shove, perhaps create some sort of ingeneous/elaborate transformer setup in the environment to filter the extra messages, although with the 4/4 sustain events that may not even be possible. With the "stepped" events you could set up a filter to just block all events with values 20-110 or so.
But much better would be to configure the pedal(s) correctly.

Brand new apple tv not working. when i turn it on, the apple symbol shows up for a few seconds and then signal is lost but power on the apple tv stays on. i've reset and unplugged several times but same thing happens.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!
