Doubleclick won't close selection

Hi there, I’m not quite sure if this is the right place to  post questions about program issues—the structutre of this Site is horrible. (If i’m wrong here, could anyone explain how and where to actually post quesions and not just read existing ones? Doesn’t seem like someone had the same problems yet …)
Anyway I’m using Photoshop CC on a 2008 MacBook running OS X Mountain Lion and have some issues using the polygonal lasso tool and the magnetic select tool: When making a selection I can close it by doubletapping on the touchpad or clicking enter but not by doubleclicking on the touchpad or my Magic Mouse … yet the doubleclick function does still work e. g. when I doubleclick a layer in order to rename it.
If someone knows this issue or knows how to fix it, please help! (Restarting Photoshop or the Mac doesn’t help.)
Greetings Schusterjunge

Ok, that’s how I would expect it to behave.
So then something’s just wrong with my app/settings/Mac/whatever (anybody have a clue what it might be?) I guess I’ll just reinstall Photoshop and hope for the best.
Anyway, thanks a lot!

I've tried command-W, clicking on the X, and using the menu to close them, and two of my open tabs won't close at all.

Try temporarily disabling JavaScript. In the Tools menu select Option, then go to the Content panel in the Options window and de-select the setting "Enable JavaScript". Close the Options window and then try to close the tab. You can then re-enable JavaScript.

  • Confirm navigation on chrome won't close

so the confirm navigation box on google chrome will not close, and I've tried just about everything
I've tried to use esc, turning of wifi, quickly hitting the x out button.
how can i close it? because if it won't close then it won't let me turn my laptop off. btw i have a macbook air.

to anyone still having this issue on their mac (mine's a pro 13") instead of using esc key, turning off wifi and stuff i've found another way that worked for me since none of the others did.
hover to the top and go to battery percentage. right click on it and it will tell you the apps that are using the most energy right now, i.e google chrome. click on google chrome and it will open a new window showing energy usage. make sure google chrome is selected, and then click the close button along the top (big cross thing). then when it asks you if you want to quit chrome, click FORCE QUIT and it should shut all windows. you'll lose all your tabs, but it saves having to do any installation or waiting for battery life to run out.
    good luck!

  • IPhoto and other programs won't close on my mac mini

I haven't had a mac since I had my mac Toaster, I mean Cube with OS8. My hubby got me a mac mini. I haven't installed anything on it other than updates. I have mostly used it for iTunes and my new iPhone 6. I have imported photos to iPhoto, but it locks up and refuses to close. When it won't close, I can't shut the mini down. I've had to shut down by holding the power button two or 3 times.
On a PC, I can use Task Manager to end processes. Is there something like that on a mac?
Also, I'm surprised that a pristine mac with no additional software installed, hardly used, or even 'surfed' on, would have programs lock up like that. What's the deal?
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance.

Move the cursor of the app in the Dock (lower bar on screen) and click on the app and there should be a Quit or Force Quit selection. Also, you can open Activity Monitor which is in Finder>Applications>Utilities and select the app and then click on Force Quit

  • I close tabs, it disappears, but can still ctrl+tab to them. Then they won't close.

Sometimes, when I close a tab, the next tabbed site will be displayed, and it will disappear from the row of tabs on top, as if it really closed. But when I ctrl+tab or ctrl+shift+tab, it remains one of the sites I cycle through. It won't close. Usually, if I close firefox, this goes away, but sometimes the same phantom site(s) remain even after restarting firefox.

  • Blank finder window won't close

When I click on the finder, a blank window always appears first. This window contains nothing and won't close. If I open a new finder window everything works fine operating like a normal finder window with all the choices. What gives?

Then, your com.apple.finder.plist file's mucked up, because with no Finder windows opened, clicking on the Finder's Dock icon should follow whatever you set in Finder's preferences->General. Move it out of your /Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, OPTION-click & hold the Finder's Dock icon, select Relaunch, select Finder's Preferences->General->set an open option, close the window, and click on the Finder's Dock icon. Note that you'll have to reset all of Finder's preferences if this fixes things, ultimately deleting the moved plist file.

  • Pop up box in yahoo mail won't close, asks "do you use the yahoo! toolbar on multiple computers?" has option buttons but no response when clicking on anything, pop up box just sits there in the way

whenever I open my yahoo mail when using Firefox, a pop up box appears on the upper left side of the screen, it asks the question "do you use the yahoo! toolbar on multiple computers?" and gives click boxes for "Save to my yahoo ID" and "No thanks, just save to this computer". I get no response to clicking on either box, nor will the pop up close if I click on the "X" in the upper right corner of this pop up. It won't close out and it sits right over the top of the email messages in my inbox. All else seems to work fine, but can't get rid of this pop up box....very annoying.

  • VI front panel won't close when it's done executing, when this vi was called by reference.

I've created a simple vi set to demonstrate the issue I'm having. I'm dynamically launching sub vi's from a main application. Simply put the main application is my test exec and the subvi's I'm calling dynamically are different tests. In the example I'm posting here the test vi is called Electrical Test 1.vi. I've configured this Electrical Test 1.vi to show front panel when called and close afterwards if originally closed.  Problem is it won't close the front.
Other things to keep in mind
I want to be able to launch the test vi and not wait till it's done.
    I'm using LabVIEW 2012 SP1.
    Solved!

Basically the close after call only matters if the VI is called as a subVI (just like if you open a VI yourself and run it, it doesn't close when it is done).  The two ways around this are to either have your top lvl app close the VI when it is done, this is explained here:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/987B2026B41BD39786256CF800032E8C
or to have your VI close itself when it is done.  Use a This VI reference and the Front Panel:Close invoke node.
    Hope this helps.

What video card is your Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit) computer using? NVIDIA GeForce or other?
Please check the Device Manager/Display Adapters to confirm the video card/graphics card and how many cards.
Is the card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
Are you working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? And, do you have QuickTime (latest version) installed on
    the computer with Premiere Elements?
Are you  using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Please consider the above and then we can decide what next.
    Thank you.
