Doubled music on iPod 5th Generation

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me out with this issue? I had some songs on my iPod that were grayed out. I hooked my iPod into my itunes, of course on the music list everything was there as usual. I go under iPod and "On this iPod" then I clicked on music and the ones that were grayed out, weren't on my iPod's playlist. So, I clicked on Autofill From>Music then I clicked Autofill. Then all my grayed out music appeared on the playlist but were still grayed out. I clicked on the little gray bubble beside the songs and they added right back onto my iPod, now they are no longer gray, but it double my songs. The grayed out song is still there, along with the song I can now play. I want to know how to get rid of the gray song, so I can have my original playlist back. Please, and thank you!
Here is an example:

i cannot do that because i cannot get to that screen when i plug in iPod to the computer. any other sugestions??

This means you will need to put the device into a Forced Recovery Mode in order to restore the device. You can do this by connecting the device to your computer, holding the Home & Power buttons together until the device restarts with an Apple Logo, once you see this logo pop up remove your finger from the Power Button continuing to hold down the Home Button. You should then see a prompt within iTunes stating that it has detected a Device in Recovery Mode. Proceed through the restore prompts and it should be ok to use again.

I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Does Acoustic Solutions say it will work with your model iPod and iOS 7.0.4?

    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

My Ipod 5th generation is fully charged but only works if it is charging. When I try to turn it on (in this case it's not charging) the apple sign shows but then it turns off again. I have updated it to see if it would fix the problem but nothing... A couple months ago it reserted by it self... It has gone mental... Or it was brainwashed like when I try to explain to someone what happened. I could only update it now though. Please guys, help me.. I need my music...

  • Itunes wont recognize my ipod 5th generation

I have a Ipod 5th generation that Itunes just won't recognize! I've tried everything, and I really want to be able to download music onto it. Please help!

  • When I add songs to my ipod 5th generation the songs don't add, why is that?

I keep adding new songs to my ipod. It seems to work but then I leave my house and the song isn't on my ipod. I've only had this ipod for about 3 weeks. Prior to this ipod, I owned another ipod 5th generation for about a year, but I lost it & I never encountered this problem with that ipod.
the song shows up greyed out when i click my ipod from my itunes like this:
& isn't on my ipod once i disconnect it. It seems to be adding the songs slower or something. Also, sometimes when I attempt to add one single song to my itunes my whole library gets added to my ipod, which is annoying because I delete songs from my ipod, yet they're being added again.
Is this apart of the update? Is there some way to fix this to the old settings because I tend to get music from other people's itunes libraries too, and i don't want their library syncing on my ipod.

  • HI!!!HELP?someone............new ipod 5th generation user here....pls

I bought a new ipod 5th generation (30gig)2 and a half months from now.
    Problems:
1.) I accidentally/i intended to reset my ipod while still connected to pc (windows xp->how stupid of me.
2.) After resetting all videos, songs etc... are gone but pic are still in my ipod-> where did they go?deleted perhaps?
3.) I deleted the itunes, restart my pc and reinstallitunes and again and restart my pc bec itunes no longer recognize my ipod->(itunes says:i need to have an ipod software updater to restore factory settings)
4.) I go to the apple website to download latest ipod updater then i saved it to: Save to disk
5.) Then in my pc desktop an icon for adobe:ipodsetup.exe->click it but it says:There was an error opening this document. The file is already open or in use by another application.-> cant understand what it implies...
6.) So because of that i deleted all the remaining files in my ipod which was MY PICS. so it leaves my ipod no songs etc as in empty as ever.
7.) I reset it twice and turned it ON->of course not connected to pc or anything-so i checked out the SETTINGS of my ipod, then to ABOUT, then discovered that -IPOD SONGS:0,VIDEOS:0,PHOTOS:0,CAPACITY:27.8(i have no questions about this i know why 2.2 was already consumed because of the menus/internal settins whatever), but AVAILABLE:23.5!!!!!!!!->WHY?I THOUGHT IT WILL GO BACK TO 27.8, does this mean my ipod has some defects or something?i took care of my ipod has a protective crystal casing, never fall of from my hands/while being use in short its my partner in life as of now.
8.) so if anyone who has a kind heart to hear my problems please help me..thank you

WOW, you have a big problem. My first suggestion is to restore your ipod, like btabz said. Other things you could do are 1). Send it in to a electronics store or apple.
2). Get a new ipod (LAST RESORT)
    3). 5 R's- See http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/

    Hello,
I recently tried downloading the IOS8 to my iPod 5th generation and when it was almost done the computer said there was an error. Right after that, the iPod shut down completely and now it's on recovery mode. I plugged it in and it said that I had to restore it and update it so I could use it again but it doesn't let me. What can I do? I even did a backup before the update.
    I really need help.

  • Do they send the ipod 5th generation to Puerto Rico?

Do they send the ipod 5th generation to Puerto Rico? I want to buy the new Ipod but i don't know if the Apple store sends it here. Help!

Expanding on what lllaass said to make sure it's clear, the US Apple Store will ship only with in the 50 states. They will not ship to Puerto Rico. You'll have to buy from an Apple dealer in PR. You can search for dealers here:

  • Given an older ipod , 5th generation and 30GB, can't restore

I was given an older iPod, 5th generation 30GB, I can't reset or restore it using windows 7 based computer even with the most current iTunes download. Is anyon e else having trouble resetting older iPods with windows or is their something wrong with the iPod itself. And if there is a problem with the iPod, does anyone know the approximate cost to get it repaired. I can't get anyone at Apple to tell me anything without it being looked at by a 'Genius' first. I don't want to waste my time driving an hour each way to an Apple store if I would better off just buying a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's more information on error message, it just says 'unknown error' and won't go into disc mode.when following the '5 R's' in technical support.
