Doubt abt the EMI and SMI images on 3560 switches

hi all i have a silly doubt. if i buy a 3560 with the SMI image loaded in it. and then i install a EMI image in it then will it support the EMI images. i mean my main doubt is is it just abt the images or do we need a license on the switch for running a EMI image in it.

in short, YES, you can load an EMI on your 3560 as it's currently configured.
(no license key or such to activate is required)
if you have an SMI switch that can support EMI image, as in most cases, then you can upgrade to the EMI image with the EMI software downloaded from cisco.com.
technically, you are required to have purchased an EMI license to be legal to use the image.
(although you can load an EMI image at anytime)
the license is NOT installed anywhere, just a piece of paper that confirms you paid for the software.

Is this SUP configured to run as IOS native or CatOS Hybrid?
While in ROMMON can you do the 'dev' command and see whad drives are recognized. Then 'dir' the drives that the SUP recognizes.
Can you provide the screen captures as it boots?

Stacking 3750 switches with EMI and SMI versions

Hi!,
Is it possible to have in a stack Catalyst 3750 with EMI version and Catalyst 3750 with SMI?. In my case, it is a WS-C3750G-12S-E with WS-C3750-48PS-S. I didn't find clear information about this issue. I know different major releases are not compatible but nothing is mentioned about the feature set.

Hi,
It's possible but not recommended. If you decide to do this you should buy 2 EMI so that if the master fails the backup can still route traffic. (Having 2 EMI is TAC supported, even if the rest is SMI - not sure about just having one EMI and one SMI)

Instead of copying images (jpgs, etc) from my iPad Mini to my desktop PC, I'd like to do the opposite, that is, copy existing images from my PC files to my Mini without going through a multi-email process which involves resizing the images by experiment.
I hope someday Adobe Lightroom can add this feature, but I'll settle for some simple transfer, perhaps by cable between my PC and my Mini.

You can do it via your computer's iTunes. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

and Do you know the limitations and scope of the bex analyzer?
Talking about the security issue. What kind of resticciones be applied to end-users to control information. Protecting system
resources and the information that the user uses, not be manipulated.

The standard BEx BI 3.x tools, is no longer available with the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 BI tools; however, it is part of the SAP BI add-on installation that, by default, will install the BW 3.x tools along with the newer BI 7.0 tools.
We want to prevent unauthorized download of data to excel sheets from users who have installed bex analyzer but are not authorized to do that. Certain users only have to access querys from web and shouldn't have to use reports from bex analyzer.
The only accepted way to access reports for all users is by using web querys published in our intranet. But many users have bex analyzer installed and we don't want that an unauthorized user download data to a excel sheet via bex analyzer.
I'm testing with one user with this roles, but bex web template and bex analyzer have similiar object authorizations, and i don't know if is possible prevent unauthorized download of data from excel sheets.

You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
- I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
- you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
- all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..

Two Doubt abt Area Menu and Conv from C to I

I have two doubt can some one help me on the same.
1. I have created one area menu , added all T code in that and it is successfully move to prod. server. problem I am facing is that when user click on the t code
it give message <b>Transaction does not exist.</b>. Although T code available and user have right to access the same.
2. I have created one ALV in which I have shown AUSP-ATWRT value, which of type character but in our case we have numeric value over there. I am taking that value . But when End user want to take the Graph from ALV it's show nothing. Because value is character. Now I have change the type of Internal table variable as I. But it creating problem and giving Dump.
Please provide me valuable suggestion.

Hi,
Field mentioned by you is char type in DD so it will not be displaye as number in graph.
So you can convert that field using function like CK_AND_CONVERT_NUMERICS to numeric.

Doubt abt the context that is defined

we do have an option of declaring the nodes in the context of the particular view and also we can define the same in the component controller. my doubt is if we call a node with the meta data usage then we get a declaration like
DATA lo_nd_aenr TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA lo_el_aenr TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
to which context it is pertaining to whether to the context node of the view or to the component controller.
and please say me wht is the advantage of declaring the nodes in the component controller and then dragging them in to the particular view where it is necessary.
and if possible say me the differences between declaring the nodes in the component controller and the view.

Hi Ibrahim,
The attribute wd_context, refers to the current context. If you are using it in the component controller, it means the component controller's context. In the view, it means that particular view's context.
Declaring context nodes in the comp controller is used when you want to share your data across views. Say you have a use case where you enter some search query in one view, and on clicking search, the results are displayed in a subsequent view. Then the second view will not have your search parameters by default. They have to be made attributes in the comp controller, and mapped in both views. So the data can be shared.
Otherwise there is no big difference. A comp controller node when mapped to your view just becomes another node in the view context. It will be read as any other node in the view only.

Find out what interface the scanner has (OCX probably) and use OLE2 to activate it.
Then use read_image_file built-in to read the scanned image file to the Form.

Problem in shuffling the button and puting image on button in the same code

I have tried it using the following code but its not running on eclipse I have no idea what "not running" means, but I'm assuming you are having trouble reading the image files.
Read the section from the Swing tutorial on [How to Use Icons|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for the proper way to read images so that is works in all environments.

Silly doubt abt access-points and bridges

hi all i have read cisco doc wherein clients connecting to access-points and also where the cisco access-point is working like a bridge and still clients can connect to it .
then any specific reason why people generally connect clients to access-points.
i mean is there any benefit of either method over the other.
any help and guidance would be really helpful.

In short, it is preferred to have users connect to access points.... 99% of the time. You can use a wireless bridge (that is associated to an AP) that is connected to a switch/hub to supply network connectivity to wired users off the switch/hub. There are also access points that can be used as a bridge for building point to point connectivity.
Look at the home users with wireless.... it allows then to move from place to place (as long as there is coverage) without having to be wired in.

JUmbled text in Safari, and it runs off the page and behind images

i have a really annoying problem that is only happening in Safari under every user on my computer.
I have been to the Apple store and they have tried to fix it, but it perplexed everyone there I guess,
either that or the fact that it was 8:30 and they close at 9... go figure. Anyways- When in Safari on
certain websites that are heavier on text the words displayed in the headlines or body copy overlap, become jumbled, and run off the page.
As I am typing this it is not letting my words wrap to the next line in the text box, I have to hit enter
everytime I want to go to a new line. This problem is getting so annoying, and I am on the brink of
switching to Firefox but I love Safari so much more. Can someone please help? I have already look
at the " never display fonts larger than____ option" I am hopelessly in need of some advice. Thanks
