Doubt in cProjects

Dear Experts,
I am new to cProjects, I am already working as PS consultant. I have some doubts about cProjects
1. Is cProjects is an add-on component to SAP ERP?, If so, do we need to order it to SAP or can we download it from SAP service market place? How much it costs?
2. Does it require additional hard ware? like separate Server interfacing this server to SAP ERP server?
3. Whats the exact use of cProjects? Why should I use cProjects in addition to the SAP ERP - PS??

cProjects can be installed on top of SAP ERP or standalone. You can download it from the Service Marketplace. It does not cost an extra license on top of SAP ERP Professional Users.

cProjects is for other use cases than PS, which is typically for larger infrastructure projects. Also it is very much integrated with former SAP RPM in the meantime, both from a technical as well as functional perspective. CProject 4. 0 Document Approval Document Error

Hi All,
We have the configuration that was working fine for Phase Approval in cProjects 4.0.
I am having a look at it as we are getting You can not begin approval without an approval document error message on click of Begin Approval button.
Though I have not checked ADS (Note - 944221), this does not seem to be ADS problem as the Document with decision as Granted gets displayed properly.
I create New Approval by adding approver, after click of Begin Approval, then the error message gets displayed.
Configuration seems OK as it was working fine few days ago.
Also looking at note 874054 (Is it only for cProjects 3.1 ?)
The only thing which I am doubtful about is, in configuration Activate Forms Per Project Type where I need to deactivate the smartform DPR_APPROVAL_HIER, which is set to Active (i will deactivate and test again). Also the PDF Print form DPR_APPROVAL_HIER is set active.

PS to xRPM/cProjects integration - phases

Hi all,
We've successfully uploaded a project from PS to xRPM/cProjects but one thing that does not copy over correctly is the phase in cProjects. After the upload is complete, I look at the cProject structure and the project header is there with all the WBS and network elements created as tasks, but they all reside under a blank phase definition. How can I configure so that the phase in cProjects is not created? Or, what do I need to create in PS to populate that phase definition when transferred to cProjects?

Im working with cProjects 3.1, not installed in CRM Platform. At this moment I have accounting integration, the system create an internal order to collect the costs.
My doubt is:
If I want to install the cProjects 3.1 in the CRM platform, Im going to have the PS integration (costs and revenues are collected on the Project WBS), but Im going to lose the accounting integration (internal order) or not?
Its possible the multi-object integration (Project and Internal order)?

CProject and Virtual Room Integration

Hi,
I am having some issues trying to integrate cProjects with Virtual Rooms from EP. Some questions:
- In creating the http connection to the external server, where can I get the information for target host and port? Is this simply the EP host and port number?
i.e.: if my EP url goes like '192.168.1.1:8010/irj/portal', my target host is '192.168.1.1' and port is '8010'?
- In creating the Logical Portal, under the Call parameters tab, do I just have to reference the HTTP connection to External Server object as created in SM59?
EP has been installed on the same server as cProjects with the same system ID, as an add-on installation. Will there be any special considerations to take note of because of this?

There is «Set up field control» customizing for cProjects.
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> Collaboration Projects -> Global Enhancements to Project Elements -> Set Up Field Control
This IMG activity enables to tailor the field properties of SAP fields.
I interested in following customizing of this IMG activity:
1. «Conditions that Influence Field Control» - list of conditions, for example:
For category «DPO-Project Definition» there are - C001 Object is released, C002 - CATS is active conditions.
2. «Field Ctrl Acc. to Addit. Conditions (per Field)» -
this customizing used to define field properties for field and condition.
I do not understand - How does condition work? Where does condition rule programming?
I created new condition. Now, I want to define rule of execution for this condition, but I do not know how to do this. Probable, there is Business Add-ins for this proposition.

This field control is for controlling the fields of cProject and this is achieved for Particular Project type.
I doubt if ther is any badi for this to server your purpose....
1st you create a condition like,
Project description is mandatory while creating a project.
similarly you can put,
some fields as mandatory some as optional.
This condition you need to assign to Project type in Customizing in Basic structure Settings..

Connect R/3 to cProject

Hi,
I want to create a function module in cProject that is called from R/3 side. but I don't know which table to store up the connection information to connect cProject and R/3. I would like to use function module 'SCWB_RFC_PING' in R/3 to check cProject connection.
In addition, what should I set up to connect servers between cProject and R/3? Please give some idea on that.

Hi,
In order to connect cProjects to systems with which connection is allowed, eg - accounting integration, CATS integration, etc or to have object links with R/3 all you need is just a RFC connection. A RFC connection is created using SM59 transaction.
In case you have connect to R/3 and use some custom built functionality, there are two scenarios:
We are assuming both cProjects and R/2 to be different boxes.
1. Connect from R/3 to cProjects
Create RFC connection (SM59) in R/3 system pointing to cProjects system.
If writing a custom function on cProjects server, make sure it is Remote enabled.
To call this custom function in cProjects server from R/3 server use call function '<Function_name>'
destination <RFC_Destination_name>.
If calling a standard cProjects function from R/3, make sure it is a remote enabled function and call function using the destination clause.
2. Connect from cProjects to R/3
Create RFC connection (SM59) in cProjects system pointing to R/3 system.
Calling function remains same.
In case you need to call a standard funtion that is normal (not remote enabled), create a custom wrapper function that is remote enabled and internally calls the normal standard funtion.
Pl note that RFC destination names are always case sensitive.

Transferred dates from cproject to PS

Hi experts,
We woukd like when a project is replicated in PS dates are transferred to the WBS from cproject ( project, phase and tasks). I have read this is not standar and it is needed to modify the BAPI to get this.
My question is --> is this correct? Isn´t this behaviour standard?
Just in this case dates are not trasferred , does someone knows what are the following settings in this settings used for?
--> Cproject -->conection to external settings -->Accounting integration --> make general settings- Here we have configured project type --> replicate as WBS --> 0FRAME4 ( I don' understand this 0FRAME4)

hi Sara,
You identify frames for cost collector data overview. It specifies which frame from the object type the system should display in the overview display of the accounting data.
For any object type, you identify frames in Frames per object type in customizing.And each frames will have field assigned to it.
So in Accounting integration Using cost collector in mySAP ERP customing you define one frame which will direct what data to be displayed in detail screen of that object.
In your case the fields for both the frames would be same so that you are not able to see any difference.

Multilevel Controlling in cProjects

Hi,
I am using multilevel controlling, in cprojects -4.0.A project structure is getting replicated in PS for corresponding elements in cProjects.
My doubt is how do we capture the other costs i.e of Material, labour etc.Do i need to create a network and activities in PS, to assign n captur this cost?
Secondly after the costing is done in PS, does it gets replicated or updated in cProjects Project Structure?

One more issue in cprojects;
I am still stuck up problemof Error of 'Cost/Revenue rates not defined for Resources'.
Just go thru the steps, which i have followed n let me know if i hav done it correctly:
1.Intially i hav defined an orgn in PPOCE, where in i have mentioned the Account Assignment details of CO area,Cost Centre etc.
2.I hav assigned a Position to it i.e. Proj Manager, for which i have defined the rates in backend in R/3.
3.After that i have created a BP in employee role.
4.By again going to PPOME i have assigned this BP to the position and hence the orgn which i have created earlier in PPOCE.
5.Finally when i have created a proj in cProjects, i have assigned that orgn in additional data tab page.
6.Going to the Resource tab page, i have selected the role and staffed the employee(created earlier) for that role i.e Proj Manager.The cost for that role can be seen in costing tab page.But when i calculate the cost i am getting an error that Cost/Revenue rates not defined for Resource (along with the Resource name, which i hav created in employee role)
As per my knowledge i have followed all the steps, but still i am unable to solve the error.If u can give me ur personal id, i can even send u the screen shots which will give u a more clearer idea.

Role cost from cProject to PS

Hi,
I am able integrate cProject with PS. A PS project(WBS) is created when we change the status flag for transfer in cproject. But we not able to find any flow of role cost from cproject to WBS. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this?

CProject - PS - Open

Hi,
I am using SAP call transaction to open PS: Project Definition from object link in cProjects.
Even if cProjects logon language is English (Language = EN), PS opens in Danish (Language = DA).
What is the problem, I want PS to open in English, ie logon language of cProjects.

I think it really is the default language of the PS-system. I'm not too sure, but I doubt that OpenPS is multilingual. But checking this should be an easy thing.

Query reg. Resource and time allocation in cProjects

Wondering if someone can answer this query related to - Resource and time allocation in cProjects.
I understand the following regarding creating cProject -
1 - Project manager creates a cProject for any upcoming new project in the organization.
2 - Phases and Tasks will be created automatically (at our end) based on the template selected while creating the cProject.
3 - Project manager assigns the resources to the project.
4 - Allocate start date and end date for the resources against Tasks or Phase -
> This is the point where there isn't enough documentation to help me progress further. Please can someone suggest how and where do we specify the start date and end date to a resource in cProject.
A sample document on the BEST approach to create cProject, assign reources to tasks, allocate start date and end date would indeed help further clarify my doubt.
I wante to create a cProject with various tasks, assign resources, start and end date for each task. As the project progresses,
I want to execute a report to track the progress of this cProject as resources go on completing a task.

Thanks for your reply. Below are some queries based on few points mentioned by you.
Allocate start date and end date for the resources against Tasks or Phase -
When we prepare Project template, we define all project structure with phase, tasks, milestones, etc. - OK
Also we define phase and task depedency, duration for tasks. - OK
In actual Project execution PM creates project with reference to template, he add or delete any task / phase, changes duration if required. - How do you change duration of the task ? What series of events or clicks need to be followed ? Would be nice if atleast one option is listed.
While in project planning, planner has to enter start and end date for project. - OK
cProject scedules all other dates accordingly. We need not to go to individual phase or task to adjust dates. one can adjust only duration and depency to get required dates for tasks. This is standard planning phelosophy used in CPR, MSP or Primavra I believe. - At phase level, I can see Earliest start + finish and Latest start + finish dates populated automatically. In addition Start date constraint and Finish data constraints fields are available and empty. Is it mandatory to enter these dates ?
While doing resource assignment, the start and end dates are coming from task assigned to particular Project Role. - At Task level, I can see Earliest start + finish and Latest start + finish dates populated automatically. In addition Start date constraint and Finish data constraints fields are available and empty. Is it mandatory to enter these dates ?
cProjects automatically schedules the plan in create status, once the project released and actual status updated in cProjects, Project plan needs to schedules manually with help of schedule button in Project menu.- When I click Schedule button, message - Bottom-up scheduling was carried out is populated on screen. What is Bottom-up scheduling ?

Fields for creation of BP in cProjects front-end are read-only

Hi everyone,
I'm a beginner in SAP-Development/Customizing so I hope this question isn't too easy
I can't create a Business Partner using the cProjects front-end (Ressources > Staffing) because the necessary fields and buttons are read-only... (> web-Dynpro Component: DPR_ROL_STAFF; View-Info: VI_SEARCH_CREATE)
I'm using CPRXRPM 450_700 patch 0006
The field-control is standard-SAP (0SAP).
My user-account has all cProject-roles + SAP-ALL
I assume i can change the behaviour of these fields in the Field Control but I can't identify which is the corresponding Object Category to apply the changes.
- Is there a documentation which field belongs to which Object Category in Field Control?
- Or can somebody tell me a procedure to find it out on my own?

Hi,
generally it is recommended to use transaction BP or ALE distribution to get the business partner be created.
If you would like to create the BP in web UI directly, the user must have the Structural Authorization, see customizing path:
Collaboration Projects -> Resource Management -> Organizational Management.
It is very HR related topic, you may contact a HR consultant to know more details about it.

Doubt in fbl1n transaction

hi i have a doubt....
in fbl1n transaction, there are open items and cleared items.
in it the cleared items for certain document types such as invoice etc is not present in the open item table (bsik)
however the cleared items for document types such as general voucher its present in the open items table (bsik)
is this possible as all cleared item entries shld b present in the open item table with an indicator set for cleared or not...
plz exlain!

There are 2 tables(open and Closed Items) in FI for Account Payables and Account Receivables and GL accounts
1.Account payables: BSIK is Open Items and BSAK is Closed items
2.Account Receivables; BSID and BSAD for OPEN and closed items
3/GL accounts : BSIS and BSAS for Open and Closed Items
