Doubt in Custom Infotype / Modulepool

Hi all,
I have some doubt in Module pool.
Wuld u plz check let me know on this.
Iam started creating the New Customized Infotype.
In that Infotype i have one name SHIFT. The field SHIFT is having F4 help pop-up.
Basing the F4 help pop-uping, i need to ful-fill and populate the next fields. ( Starttime and end time of Employee).
For that i need to write the Select query to fetch the data from table based on that F4 help data.
My doubt where i have to write the select statement i.e in PAI or PBO.
But the Break point is not going to perticular select statement based on the F4 help field.
wud u plz let me know whr i have to write the SELECT query.

you have to write the code in the event 'PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST'.
FIELD <filedname > MODULE <module name>.
<u>case 1: if you are not writing any select query.</u>
inside this module you can porbably make use of the function module RH_OBJID_REQUEST to get the desired search help..
<u>case 2: if you need to write select query.</u>
write the select query and get the data into an internal table.
use function module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to populate the F4.

I Iam trying to create custom infotype to capture some infomation on an Org Management custom object and I am not sure if I can do this through PM01 because this is neither employee or applicant info but custom object info. Any idea on how to do this?

Hi,
For creating OM custom infotype you should start with transaction SE11. PM01 is only for employee and applicant IT.
Go to SE11Create structure Ex:HRI9009 Create all necessary datatypes. (fields for your IT).
Then go to PPCI enter IT name and number. then maintain Table T77I here maintain time constraint for your IT.

Hi,
Please fallow the below steps to create the custom infotype. If you have any quires let me know.
For Creation of Infotype first Go to Transaction PM01, Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create, it should be a 4 digit number and have to start with 9xxx.
then select the `Employee Infotype' radio button
after that select the `PS Structure Infotype'
then click on Create A separate table maintenance window appears
then Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the infotype
Save and Activate the PS structure
now Go back to the initial screen of PM01
Click on `All' push button. It takes a few moments
Click on `Technical Characteristics. Infotype list screen appears
Click on `Change'(pencil) button
Now select your Infotype and click on `Detail' (magnifying glass) button
Give `T591A' as subtype table & also Give `T591S' as subtype txt tab
Give your subtype field as subtype field & Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
Click on `Infotype Characteristics' Infotype list screen appears
Click on `Change' (pencil) button & on New Entries
and then Enter your Infotype number and short text Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference
to fill yours). Now save ur entries
Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your
requirement
In the PM01 initial screenSelect `Screen' radio button and give
2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
In the next screen.. Select `Layout Editor' and click `Change'.
Screen default layout appearshere you can design/modify the
screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
Save and activate. (Don't forget to `Activate at every level)

Custom infotype and validations

Hello All,
I am maintaining a custom infotype 9990 for my client, the infotype stores information about stock options and equity plans. Now I have added a field. The requirement is that when user enters the field or even when tries to change it , either using direct entries in SE11 or even through PA30, then I need to make sure that the value is greater than another field in another table. Doubts raised are
1. Do i need a badi or user exit.
2. Whatever I need where do i need to implement it, i mean in particular function module and at wat fcode and wat program?
Spare me if the requirement is too vague. Please ask for specifications if needed.

1) go to SE80 and ur module poolprogram for Infotype 9990 say it is - MP999000.
2) go to ur screen of infotype say 2000
3) in the PAI of the screen u will find the below code just below the" Module Exit at Exit command" -

in the modulepool program for my custom infotype 9050, I have defined a field symbol like below in the top include.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <PNNNN> STRUCTURE P9050
DEFAULT P9050.
still it is showing <PNNNN> is unkown.
Seconldy, can anyone give an simple modulepool code for custom infotypes ( 9xxx).

How to integrate custom infotype in IMG

I am working on ESS MSS consultant and having a doubt on how the process will take place to embed custom Infotype to Personal Information application at IMG level. I mean how the communication flow will take place between these two?

Hi Vinay,
We have search help and list box as 2 different options.
At a time we can make a field a list box or a search help.List box is restricted and we can pick values from the defined list whereas in search help we can allow more entries and then validate the value entered later.
Implementing a listbox or search help in infotype is same as that of implementing it in a modulepool .
for search help..we can create a custom search help or check for existing search help in se11
then in the screen on infotype field..assign the search help direcly at the screen painter level..
double click on the field in screen painter -> change mode and then in the space for "search help" enter the search helps name
for list box..in the screen painter ,make sure the field is selected as list box..then in PAI of screen we do a
(Process on value-request..field fieldname module module name)..check syntax and other details...
Using function module vrm_set_value fill the field and populate it as required

Can we use HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATIONS FM for custom infotype too or is there other way or other Standard FM to upload data for custom infotype starting with 9000..etc.

in my requirment input will come from portal form and in background Java Wd is going to use these FM but i have this big doubt can we use these standard FM for uploading data in custom infotype as well or else is there any other way.. but for sure we can't use BDC and LSMW in this requirement .

But iam not able activating the sample Tabstrip control.

Hi Yogesh,
   Just to test ... can you place your code in a report and call the report with submit ... return in your module pool? For the data tables in the interface, you may export them and import them.. this will ensure that everything is good with your code and the place where you call the code from. I believe the issue is Module Pool rather than anything else. But that's just a doubt and we need to do this to confirm it.

Error while creating a query for my custom infotype

I have created a custom infotype with fields currency amount and currency field .
While I am creating a query for it its giving an error
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221 Error when generating the report(see long text )
I tried to execute the standard program RPUMS40CCI but still I am facing same error .
I have also maintained table T777i for my infotype but still problem exists.

Error while editing an automaticlly populated record of a custom infotype

hi,
a query in HR ABAP.
i have created a custom Infotype to store the CTC details of an employee. this custom IT needs to get the records auto populated, when they are created in Infotype 0008.
i have used the exit. EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 inside which an include program is written :ZXPADU02
using this, the records made to get create automatically in the custom IT.
but when we try to modify or delete those records thru the tcode PA30,
it does not allow to do so and throws a standard error message. as below.
Specified subtype is invalid
Message no. PG088
please help me out to fix this issue.

the exact point of the std error is,
i do the folowing steps.
1)_ for auto creating a record in custom IT Pa**** , i goto transaction, PA30, create record in IT 0008 with a basic Pay., click on save.
on saving , the EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 is called where i ve written a Z inlcude Program, which inserts the record in custom IT PA****. this is successful.
2) when i try to change or delete the same record which i ve created as above, through the Tcode PA30 for custom IT, PA
****, i get the error.

How to create the custom infotypes in Campus Management

Please help me how to create the custom infotypes in campus management.

Hi,
Steps to create a HR Infotype:
1) Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the 'Employee Infotype' radio button.
4) Select the 'PS Structure Infotype'.
5) Click on Create... A separate table maintenance window appears...
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on 'All' push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on 'Technical Characteristics'. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on 'Change'(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on 'Detail' (magnifying glass) button
13) Give 'T591A' as subtype table
14) Give 'T591S' as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
17) Click on 'Infotype Characteristics' ... Infotype list screen appears
18) Click on 'Change' (pencil) button
19) Click on 'New Entries'
20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
22) Save your entries.
23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)
Subtype Creation :
Transaction PM01 Goto Subtype Characteristics. Click on Append and then subtype. Enter the name and description of subtype on screen.
Then goto technical Characteristics and maintain the details of subtype there. I.e name of subtype i.e. component name defined in PSnnnn. Subtype table is T591A.
Subty.text tab is T591S and time const tab is T591A.

Custom Infotype - Using Table control in the screen. IN OM

Hi,
I am having a requriement where in I need to create a custom infotype using table control in the screen. I have to create this in OM and I am using PPCI transaction to create the info type. I am able to create the infotype with fields but not table control. Please let me know if any one of you came across and help me with the process I need to follow.

Hello,
After you create the info type throug PPCi, you can directly go to the Sceen module program created automatically while creating Info type and edit the screen.
activate it after your changes.
