Doubt in PeopleSoft ActiveSync

Hi All,
i am currently working on PeopleSoft ActiveSync, PeopleSoft is our Authorative Source. i have to create a user and provision some resources (LDAP,AD etc.,) in IDM whenever a new entry comes in PS. i have done this through FlatFileActiveSync using Process Rule Approach and it is working fine. but while coming to PeopleSoft i dunno how to access the datas in the PS (like for FlatfileActiveSync, i am using the data from .csv file using activesync.value. but for PS ActiveSync how to access the data in PEopleSoft?). Please suggest me.
Regards,
Sabari

Hello, The organization I work with has similar goals. We plan to use Peoplesoft as the Authoritative Source and provision through (LDAP,AD etc.,) in IDM whenever a new entry comes in PS. Have you come accross any useful forums? Have any tips?
Thank you.

  • Update accounts using activeSync

    All,
I have a question regarding the 'update' process using activeSync.
I have an SAP HR activeSync adapter installed. On a create, the user is stored within IDM based the employeenumber fetched from activeSync. The account within IDM is not only the employeenumber but a few letters concatenated as well, e.g. XYZ012345. Now, when an update occurs on the SAP HR system, the activeSync adapter is searching for the employeenumber to match the accounts. Ofcourse, the IDM accountId is different from the employeenumber. Consequence, the update is turned into a create.
The question is, how do I make sure the activeSync process recognizes the IDM account as a matching account for the employeenumber fetched by the activeSync?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Elger

Thanks for your replies, I figured out those sollutions as well and after you came up with the same ones, I thought those would be the solutions. Unfortunately, they weren't.
In contrast to the FlatFile activeSync and PeopleSoft activeSync, you can't configure a correlation rule on the activeSync properties from the SAP HR ACTIVESYNC ADAPTER. I thought, the activeSync process would automatically inherit the correlation rule from the reconciliation policy, but unfortunately it didn't.
The doc's on the lifecycle of an activeSync say the following on correlation:
ActiveSync adapters either expect the resource name to match the IdM user name, allow configuration of a naming attribute, or allow specification of a correlation rule (FlatFile ActiveSync and PeopleSoft Component) for matching the incoming poll record to an actual IdM user..
The first and third option are not applicable for my situation so probably I have to do something with the 'naming' attribute. Any suggestions on this one?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Peoplesoft Application Upgrade Doubt

    Hi All,
We are currently performing peoplesoft application upgrade i.e,moving from Peopletools 8.49 and HCM9.0  TO  Peopletools 8.52 and HCM9,1 FP2.
My doubt is that will all the MP's and Bundles applied in Source DB be moved to Target DB after our upgrade process.

    Hi Ajith,
FP2 will have the MPs in it. And yes, the upgrade process will move all of them to your target db.
There is a separate certified upgrade path HCM9.0 to HCM9.1 FP2. Use the template and documentation from this.
Check this old post in the forum - https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2427510

  • Installing PeopleSoft HRMS 9.0 on Windows Server 2008 with SQL Server 2008

    Hi there,
Recently I was involved to develop a POC with PeopleSoft and as I was very new to PeopleSoft, I had bunch of issues while installing PeopleSoft. It took me almost more than couple of weeks to finally get the PeopleSoft Application up and running.
I had bunch of questions also asked in this Oracle forum like :
Step by Step PeopleSoft HRMS Installation from scratch.
Tuxedo10gR3VS2008 patches absolutely needed for Peopetools Installation
Thanks to the replies from all you folks. That helped a lot. Anyways, so I thought of just writing a blog about the things I did while installing PeopleSoft on Windows with SQL as backend DB. There are many posts already on the web describing the steps but mostly with Oracle DB and Linux. Hence, here are the posts for PeopleSoft on Windows:
    http://geekswithblogs.net/BizTalkUnleashed/archive/2012/01/24/installing-peoplesoft-hrms-9.0-on-windows-server-2008-with-sql-again.aspx
Hope it helps to newbie's in PeopleSoft Apps like me.

I hate to be rude, but I am following you for a couple of days now on this forum and even in the same tread and it looks like you do not want to helped, you just want quick answers. I do not see you putting any effort nor show any respect for the product or the people how try to help you. Keep in mind that everyone on this forum is voluntarily posting answers, nobody is getting paid, and I'm sure you do not pay to post here either, so please do not use words as asap and immediate.
You started of wrong, by following a post and not following the installation manual and even tried installing the wrong components.
The post was written by someone with experience on the subject who meets the installation requirements, with all respect to the poster of the blog.
I have to backup Nicolas in his saying.
Nicolas has asked you to use better thread title (more informative than just "installation help") and you created a new thread with this subject.
This does not say anything about the issue you are facing now.
I doubt you can successfully complete this installation, not meant personally, but you are using the wrong software, on the wrong OS, with no documentation.
    My advise:
Stop with what you have done until now and start all over by following the installation manual and hardware & software requirements.

  • Doubt with WS Adapter in PI 7.1

    Hello everybody,
I have a doubt regarding the WS Adapter in PI 7.1, I understood it works only for SAP Systems, am I correct?, I'm asking because I'm going to have a scenario like this
Oracle Peoplesoft Payroll System-> SAP PI 7.1-> SAP ECC
now I've been thinking in using protocols as this
Oracle Peoplesoft Payroll System-> Sender SOAP Adapter SAP PI 7.1 WS Receiver Adapter(Maybe ABAP Proxy it depends on the availability of a servcie in the ECC)-> SAP ECC
is this a good configuration?, thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    Julio

    Hi Julio,
SOAP to ABAP Proxy scenario is good, because abap proxy and ecc directly communicates by using the integration server.
Sender side you can configure the SOAP adapter and receiver side generate the proxy.
data types and mapping are normal.
    For sender side SOAP configuration

  • Dynamic HTML over PeopleSoft?

Our college Portal site uses a Flash animation to display rotating content relevant to the current semester. My latest project involves presenting users with a static image on the Portal home page if their browser does not have Flash installed.
After visiting Adobe's site to find a Flash-detection script, I found two versions at Kirupa's site (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/detection.htm). I've used both of the sample javascripts provided on this page. One detects the presence / absence of Flash and redirects the user accordingly (to either a page with a static image, or one with a Flash animation); the other detects and then displays either a Flash animation or a static image on the same page.
The Flash detection works, but not without issues. The first script accurately detects the presence of Flash, but doesn't display the animation. This may be because the animation is hosted on another server over https, but I doubt it, because the second script (tested with Opera 10.63 as the "non" browser, and with Firefox 3.6.13 and IE 7.0.5730 as the "with" browsers) does properly redirect the user, and the Flash does properly display for those of us with Flash installed.
The objective is to have the replacement image appear within the context of a single page, rather than to use redirection, so a DHTML script is the desired approach. The Kirupa script uses document.write to write the object and embed tags to the HTML body; with this approach, nothing happens when I view the page in any of the abovementioned browsers. I modified the script to write to the innerText (and then to the innerHTML) of a div element that I created to display the results. Nothing happens in that case either.
Does PeopleSoft play nice with DHTML? Is this a known issue, or am I just doing something wrong?

Just a thought -- is the problem because PeopleSoft is cutting off the end of your script? I had that problem trying to store the jQuery javascript library in HTML object in PeopleTools. Fortunately, the part of the javascript that it was cutting off didn't affect me. Back in 2009, I wrote a post about it:
    http://psst0101.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/jquery-and-peoplesoft/
Jim Marion's solution was to store the javascript in a message catalog instead of an HTML definition.
    http://jjmpsj.blogspot.com/2009/01/serve-thosejavascript-libraries-quickly.html
I have also created a table dedicated to holding javascript, and I use an iScript similar to Jim Marion's to read out the javascript. The only difference is that I select the javascript text from the database in my custom table rather than reading it from the message catalog.
Also, if you can break your javascript into multiple parts, you could place it in mutliple HTML definitions. The thing you have to think through is how you are going to migrate your code to production from the environment you are working on. HTML definitions will migrate easily. Message Catalog entries will migrate as long as you are going from database to database. I think you will have to move Pagelets manually and know for the sure the custom table idea. Just don't forget that in your go-live steps.

  • Doubts in XI basics..help me with some practical examples

    hi friends,
I am new to SAP XI have some basic doubts. Answer my questions with some practical examples.
      1. what is meant by "Business System" and what is difference between client, customer,Business partner,3rd party
2.If a small company already using some systems like Oracle or peopleSoft,if it wants to use SAP products then what steps it has to follow.
    3. SAP system means a SERVER?
    4.SAPWebAs means a server software?
5.R/3 system comes under SAP system?
6.XI is also one of the SAP  module..how it relates to other modules.
7.In one organization which is using SAP modules, each module will be load in separate servers?
8.PO(purchase order) means just looks like one HTML file..customer will fill the form and give it.like this,Combination of many files like this is one SAP module. Is it right assumption..?if so,then what is speciality SAP?
I have an theoretical knowledge about IR and ID and SLD.what are general business transactions happens in any business ?(like who will send cotation,PO)  give some practical example for what actually happens in business?..who will do what?and what XI will do?

    Hi Murali,
    <u><b> 1.Business System</b></u>
Business systems are logical systems that function as senders or receivers  within the SAP Exchange Infrastructure(XI).
Before starting with any XI interface, the Business systems involved has to be configured in SLD(The SLD acts as the central information provider for all installed system components in your system landscape.)
business system and technical system in XI
    <u><b>2.Third Party</b></u>
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/09/6beb170d324216aaf1fe2feb8ed374/frameset.htm
eg.For the SAP system a  Bank would be a third-party which would be involved in interfaces involving exchange of data(Bill Payment by customer).
    <u><b>3.XI(Exchange Infrastructure)</b></u>
It enables you to connect systems from different vendors (non-SAP and SAP) in different versions and implemented in different programming languages (Java, ABAP, and so on) to each other.
Eg.If an interface involves Purchase Order sent from SAP system to the vendor(Non-SAP system)then, the vendor might expect a file. But the Data is in the IDOC(intermediate document) form with the SAP system. Here XI does the work of mapping the IDOC fields and the File fields and sends it to the vendor in the form of a file.
In short, always the scene is Sender-XI-Receiver.
The Sender and the Receiver depends upon the Business you are dealing with.
    <u><b>4.Business Partner</b></u>
A person, organization, group of persons, or group of organizations in which a company has a business interest.
This can also be a person, organization or group within this company.
    Examples:
    Mrs. Lisa Miller
    Maier Electricals Inc.
Purchasing department of Maier Electricals Inc.

  • Impact of Oracle Fusion on Peoplesoft

    Hi All,
I am an Oracle DBA, recently supporting Peoplesoft applications. I wanted to understand current Peoplesoft development and techs like People Code, Appdesigner.
But I heard that somewhere in 2010 Peoplesoft will also be integrated into Oracle Fusion platform and I m afraid most of current tools and techs will be replaced with newer ones.
Can someone briefly discuss about the impact on Peoplesoft (from Developer and DBA perspective)? I read some papers at oracle.com but nothing is very clear.
    Cheers,
    Elvis

I believe 2010 was an early date that was discussed during the acquisition. Will PeopleSoft technology (AppDesigner, PeopleCode, etc) be replaced by Fusion (ADF and Java)? Possibly, but only in the same manner that ADF replaces Oracle Forms (it hasn't) and Java replaces Cobol (it hasn't). Will Fusion use PeopleCode and AppDesigner? Not according to current Fusion app user group presentations. Furthermore, the PeopleTools and PeopleSoft apps development teams are about to release a new version of PeopleTools and apps that still use PeopleCode and AppDesigner. As far as we can see, there is no movement from AppDesigner and PeopleCode for PeopleSoft apps. With this in mind, your organization's move from PeopleTools technologies will be based on your organizations move from PeopleSoft apps to some other app.
PeopleSoft's uptake of the Fusion platform relates to middleware: WebLogic server, XMLPublisher, SOA Suite, Oracle Identity Management Suite, etc. This does not affect PeopleSoft's meta-data editor, AppDesigner. PeopleSoft applications have a lot of life left. Learn PeopleCode and AppDesigner. There are no guarantees, but odds are pretty good that these technologies will be around as long as PeopleSoft applications. Everyone is familiar with Oracle's announcements regarding PeopleTools 8.5 and Apps 9.1, future releases of PeopleSoft tools and apps.
Fusion Apps are different from the Fusion Platform. Fusion Apps are supposed to be the ERP compliments of PeopleSoft, EBS, E1, etc, created using the Fusion Platform. Based on OpenWorld and other user group presentations, we can speculate that Fusion apps use ADF, JSF, and Java. I advocate learning these technologies as well as PeopleCode and AppDesigner because they work well with PeopleSoft apps. But will PeopleSoft apps replace AppDesigner and PeopleCode with JDeveloper and Java? I doubt it. I would like to see it. If PeopleSoft is truly meta-data driven, then, theoretically, it is possible. For that matter, if PeopleSoft apps are truly meta-data driven, then it should be possible to distribute PeopleSoft apps using a Flex UI.

  • OBIEE+ w/ Peoplesoft, Peoplsoft Organizational Hierarchies tree into OBAW

    Hello,
the environment is OBIEE+ BI Apps w/ PeopleSoft HCM as source
with Prebuilt informatica mappings, to import Organizational Hierarchy tree from Peoplesoft HCM into OBAW tables, the DAC has task parameters to be set.
as per BI Apps documentation, we have to set a parameter in DAC and also can set multiple parameters here i.e. SETID~TREENAME in DAC with comma separated.
my doubt is, if i give multiple parameters(Mulitple tree names) in DAC Task, how is that Hierarchy data from multiple trees loaded into the DW and how is it presented while reporting.
i didnt find any information on this in BI Appds documentation or in google.
my requirement would be to configure a Organization Hierarchy tree which will contain Organization Name>Division name, Division number>Sub division name, sub division number> department name, department number> location name, location number etc
    please help
    thank you

Had a similar issue at my current client. If you check the PSoft upgrade docs, Oracle actually had no upgrade path for the PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW table as the effective date logic for this table is ambiguous. Here is an excerpt:
The existing Employee Review family (PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW) stores both the Commercial and Federal reviews/appraisals. After analyzing the key structure and functionality of the Employee Review structures, it was realized that there is no way to upgrade this data into the new ePerformance (PS_EP_APPR) key structure with any certainty of functional accuracy. This is because the keys to PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW are:The fact that PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW is effective-dated, and its FROM/THRU dates attributes are both optional, make it almost impossible to translate into PS_EP_APPR's required Period dates. Even the fundamental question of “What does a new effective-date mean?” is ambiguous
I also checked the OBIA 7.9.6 mappings, the PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW table is not brought in. Only the PS_EP_APPR table is used as a source for the SDEs. I even checked the PSoft 8.8 mappings, and cound not find it there either. We had to customnize the existing ETLs to extract from the PS_EMPLOYEE_REVIEW table.

  • OAM Integrating with peoplesoft

how to link the users in OAM and peoplesoft if the userid are different in OID from people soft userid,
can anyone tell me the solution.

Unless you are familiar with PeopleSoft, I would think your client should guide you in this integration. PeopleSoft has various ways to communicate with the "outside" world and I can give you the link to the PeopleTools PeopleBooks (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17566_01/epm91pbr0/eng/psbooks/psft_homepage.htm) but I highly doubt that will help you when you don't have any experience with PeopleSoft.
Easiest option with sending to an outside application and receiving results is, in my opinion, still a webservice. But then your client should do some work as well otherwise they will never be able to send anything at all. Direct link to documentation on PeopleTools 8.52 would be http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E41509_01/pt852pbh2/eng/psbooks/tibr/book.htm

  • ActiveSync email slow respond on brand new Z2

I just got my Z2 today and I found out that after i setup my email accounts, the only ActiveSync email account responding very very slow. Other email accounts like iMAP and O365 without any problem. Anyone can suggest a resolution for this. I expect there is a fix from Sony, but i doubt they can fix it in a short period of time.

I'm seeing exactly the same thing. It takes about 5 minutes to get into the email app and if I delete an email within it then it's another 5 minutes before it returns control.
Clearly a significant bug in the app or its configuration! Help, this is unusable and unacceptable! Even my 3-year-old HTC worked better than this!
Update: ok so I went through each of my 5 email addresses removing them from syncing and couldn't find one specific one that caused the problem. I then readded them all and now there's no hang. I don't know what's happening but I'll certainly be monitoring this...
2nd update: rebooting the phone, the same problem returned. Again I went through all email addresses removing them from syncing then re-added them again, and the problem has gone. So it's something to do with how the phone works when it's just booted? I don't know, but this is not a good way to get email working on my phone! I hope someone at Sony recognises this as an issue and knows what to do.

  • PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 - feature pack 2

    Hello Everyone,
I have installed the HRMS 9.1 Feature Pack 2 with Peopletools 8.52.05. ( with No bundles and Maintenance Packs )
Please let me know if I need to install the MP5 ( or latest MP available ) or any MP/ bundle to benefit with the features supplied with Feature Pack 2?
    Few doubts as well :
Q - If You are installing Maintenance Packs , how to find the corresponding bundles if you are planning to install bundles on Maintenance packs?.
Q - Can we apply the in-between bundles without applying the earlier ones? eg. We want to apply Bundle #8 (or MP4 ) without applying Bundles # 1-7 ( or MP 1-3 )
    Thanks in advance
    Amit

    Hi,
You do not need to install any MP's/bundles/patches to the revision recut of HCM 9.1 FP2 to profit from the features of FP2.
This revision recut contains all bundles and patches incl FP2. After installation all features of FP2 will be availible.
When you click on the readme button on Oracle Software Delivery Cloud, you can read the following:
This part (#V30354-01) replaces PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 (part #V17776-01), PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 – Revision 1 (part #V19309-01), PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 – Revision 2 (part #V20312-01), and PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1: Feature Pack – December 2010 (part #V23382-01). PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.1: Feature Pack 2 includes the original version of the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.1 applications plus all of the maintenance delivered through PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 Maintenance Pack 5, PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 Bundle #7, PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 Global Payroll 2011-F, and PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1 Payroll Tax Update 11-E. New installations of PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 should use this Feature Pack. If you have already installed PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 (part #V17776-01), PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 – Revision 1 (part #V19309-01), PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1 – Revision 2 (part #V20312-01), or PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 9.1: Feature Pack – December 2010 (part #V23382-01), you should install the Maintenance Packs or bundles available on MyOracleSupport; you should not install PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.1: Feature Pack 2. For additional information on PeopleSoft Feature Packs enhancements, please go to My Oracle Support.
So you do not need to install MP5, since the revision recut is delivered incl MP5.
