Doubt in Serial No's

Hi All,
I have a doubt with regards to Serial No generation.Do they get created at the time of creation of Prod. Order.
I have a requirement to change the format of serial no generation in my project with Basic Start date as one of the parameters to generate it.There is a user exit which is being used to generate the Serial No through a FM but that does not have a start date as one of the import parameters. Also at the time this FM is called the Prod Order No is not generated.I thought of hitting the AFKO  table with this Order No to get the start date but since Order No is not yet there i can't do that.
All the experts please suggest a way to achieve this.
Thanks in Advance,
Saket.

Hi,
Though there are FM for generation of serial numbers, it will not work in production order as the orer number is not yet generated.
At the time of creation of production order, the serial numbers are assigned.Even if they are generated automatically, serial number has to assign in CO01 / CO40 or CO02.
To assign the serial number consisting the basic dates or any other real time data, you need to assign then manually.

  • Doubts about serial /dev/term/a

    Hello!
    My name is Jasiel Alcantara.
I work at the Brazil Air Force.
I'm contacting you in order to get help to solve a (maybe) solaris problem
We have 7 sparcstations 5, each one with 2 serial aurora connected in it.
Close to the sparcs we have a Router-3600-cisco.
All the sparcs use the software Solaris2.6.
We connected the serial aurora to the async serial 71 (that uses encapsulation bstun) on the Router and
    started to send messages.
When we send from 1 to 1499 characters, everything is ok; with the
command "sh int async 71 acc" we can see the router receiving the
amount of characters we sent, without problems.
When we send 1500 the Router receive 0 (doesn't receive anyone).
When we send more than 1500 characters, the Router receive the amount
of characters that are after 1500.
Example: When we send 1600 the Router receive 100 and so on.
We got the cable that was connecting aurora to the Router and connected
    the serial a (/dev/term/a) from the sparc to the Router and we could see the same problem if the text has more than 1499 characters;
Our next experience was to connect a serial from the Personal Computer
    (using Hyperterm) to the Router.
Then we could send any quantity of characters without problems.
The only difference between the reception from aurora or serial-sparc and Personal Computer can be seen with the command "sh int async 71 acc" that shows the same quantity of characters but different quantity of packages.
When receiving from Personal computer we have the average of 20 packages to 1400 characters and when receiving from sparc or aurora we have 1 (one) package, doesn't matter if it is 1, 400, 1499 characters.
I'll be glad answering any questions.
We will be much grateful for some help.
         Regards,
                   Jasiel.

Turn on context help and hover over the errored out wire.  It will tell you.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
My guess is that a wire is becoming an auto-index tunnel on the way out of the For Loop thus becoming a 1-D array.  Disable auto-indexing on the tunnel.

  • RS232 comunicaation doubt

    Hi all
I have a Doubt with serial comunication. I need read and write data. The data for read comes for external hardaware(microcontroller), and data for write is for send to microcontroller. The read and write work very well separately, but when I want user the two in a single VI, no work well. I use a stacked sequence with 3 frames. one for read, one with a delay and the last for write.but No work well....
    Can you help me?
I need know how use read and write

Other than what Raven's Fan has pointed out, I don't see anything either.  You are intending to see a carriage return to terminate your received data, correct?  This is how you have it set up.

  • Mac mini won't boot anymore

My Mac mini won't boot anymore. It's been running fine for months.
    It's running Leopard Server 10.5.2 Build 9C31
It starts to boot, I get the first spinning gear with the gray screen, then the blue desktop blinks, then a second spinning gear on a gray screen and it appears to hang (the gear stops spinning).
I booted off the install DVD, ran disk utility, repaired the HD, repaired the permissions: the behavior is the same.
Safe mode doesn't work (same hang as above).
    Single user mode does work.
I can connect to it via Server Admin while it appears hung.

  • Serial Number Management-doubt

    Hi,
We are implementing SAP for trading products. We have a scenario that a material has 2 or 3 unique serial numbers.
We are planning to go for serial no. management.
How can the serial number management can be extended to the scenario.
Can we used batch management and serial number management.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Krishna
Your requirement is not completely clear.
I am guessing you are saying that a specific object can have 3 serial numbers, example, you are a trading company dealing with Television sets, so you will a serial number to identify a particular piece, at the same time it will have another Serial number ID from the Manufacturer ( say Samsung) and one more assigned by the Main Distributor and so on. Is that the case?
Or are you talking about A TV having a Serial number and the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT- I know it is obsolete technology- but just an example) within the TV has another Serial Number and so on.
    Please clarify.
In any case I don't think you can have more than one Serial number assigned to a unique piece part. But you could use some fields within Serial Number master data- General tab- e.g. ManufSerialNo. and Inventory no to capture the 'other' serial numbers, but they will be just fields for information.
For the second case you may build a structure like an Ibase and have a hierarchy of Equipment; like TV with CRT, Tuner under it for example.
You can also use batch but batch is like a lot and signifies a set of products and not just one (usually).
Provide more info and you will have ideas coming from everyone.

How are you supposed to get help from Apple if you don't know what your serial number is?  They say to input the serial number of the "product" that you are asking about.  Since my problem is how to deauthorize/authorize computers, and they are saying I have more than 5 (which I have never owned more than 5 computers in my life), I can't imagine what serial number they mean.  Does it mean your desktop computer?  If so, which one?  Do they mean your device?  LIke your iPhone, iPod or whatever?  Do they mean the software ON one of your computers and/or devices?  If so, which program, and on which computer/device?
We have three operational computers, one does not have iTunes on it.  Since Apple is saying I have more than 5 authorized computers, and I can't imagine what they are, I am afraid to deauthorize all my computers.  See what I mean?  I just wanted to ask the question about how I can find out WHICH computers Apple thinks I have authorized, so I can decide if it's safe to deauthorize them all or not.  I only know of 2 computers that have iTunes on them, so how can there be 5?  We also have 2 iPhones and 2 iPods in this family, but one of the iPhones has his own apple id.  He may have been using mine, since his computer died.  I read that those don't count as "computers" to the 5.  Do they, then?
Help!  I can't contact apple because I have no idea what they mean about serial number.  I doubt they would help me anyway.  In order to get the serial number off my desktop computer (that has iTunes on it already), I will have to move furniture, so I don't want to if that's not it.  Is there some way to find the serial number in the software, either on my desktop or my iPhone?

You could have more 5 computers authorized if you ever, for example, reformatted a hard drive or replaced a hard drive without deauthorizing the computer first. Apple's system would see that as a different computer, even though you don't. There's nothing to be afraid of in deauthorizing everything and the reauthorizing what you actually have. You won't lose any data. Mistimp is correct, they can't tell you which computers are authorized.

  • Infoset doubt

    Dear Gurus,
i have a doubt regarding use of infoset in BI.
An infoset consist of , on the left, a DSO containing line items loaded from R/3.
On the right is a master data attribute loaded data from a user defined datasource based on a transparent table in r/3.
This master data has a single Key. Its a numeric like serial number field.
The transaction data in the DSO also has this field as part of the transaction data field (non-key).
A Left Outer Join is made between the 2 using several fields joining together. However, the key field in the master data is not joined even though both sides has it.  Both this field in each are not joined.
So, by theory of  a left outer join, All data not found in the master data will still be selected via the infoset.
    I wish to understand :
    1. by a 'join' does it mean its not a union? I assume so. But based on the meaning of left outer join, it sounds to me like a union?
Correct me if i am wrong.
    2. what is the effect of not joining the master data key field to the same field found in the data part of the transaction data?
    best regards
    Bass

    hi,
    point 1:
    am i right to say
If all data on the left is picked, and some latest data in the master data is not found in the left, only all the left side data is displayed am i right? so, what is not in the right (master data attr) will not be selected by the infoset?
left outer join will be more clear with an example to you, suppose you are joining cube and master data to pick attribute value from master data. let us say the master data has below value.
    master data     attribute
    100                ABC
    102               XYZ
    103              DEF
Now in cube you have data
    cube field
    100
    101
    105
    106
the infoset wll be returning the value as shown below for different scenarios
left outer join: all values in cube.
    field    attribute
    100      ABC
101        #    (no value in master data)
105       #    (no value in master data)
106       #    (no value in master data)
    Inner join: common records
    field    attribute
    100       ABC
    Right outer join
    field    attribute
    100                ABC
    102               XYZ
    103              DEF
    point 2:
    am i right to say
its just slower performance and the rest being similar effect as joining the key field?
So, if i join the key field it will be faster and the result is the same as not joining the key field of the master data to the transaction data?
no the join determines the amount of data it will be returning as explained above, you should define the joining conditions based on your business logic, like in the above case if the two fields should have same value and are the comparing criteria then you should join those as it would help in retrieving faster results.regards,
    Arvind.

  • My iMac was stolen...I have the serial #..can i do anything?

My iMac was stolen a while ago, along w/ the iPod touch that was attached to it charging.  Basically someone broke into my apartment while I was out on a Friday night.  No, I didn't have renters insurance (amatuer hour, I know).
So I recently discovered the serial numbers online for these 2 items while I was looking through the Apple support website for another item I own.  I added them to independant 3rd party stolen property databases online, but there are a lot and I feel its not too centralized.
It seems to be common sense that if one must register the serial number, then its possible that these serial numbers popped up when a new person tried to use the computer/ipod...say, like when they try to use iTunes under their new ID or if they for some reason were dumb enough to re-register these serial numbers to themselves.  Is there any way to find this info out?  All I'd want to know is if someone registered these products.  If I knew that, then I could at least let the police know and have them get the info from Apple (because I doubt they'd give it to any joe-shmo) and let them do their thing.

All you can do is provide the serial number to the police and hope that they get lucky and can recover your property. Apple has no system for tracking stolen property, and will not give you any information about whether or not someone else has re-registered the serial number. This is for privacy reasons; they have no way of verifying that an item was indeed stolen (and not just reported as stolen as a prank or by a disgruntled seller) unless Apple is contacted by an authorized law enforcement agency.
Sorry about the loss. Good luck getting it recovered.
    Regards.

  • How can I get my serial number for Lightroom 3? I can't find my proof of purchase

I dealt with your chat staff for hours and did not get anywhere but upset. I have uploaded Lightroom 4.4 as a trial version. I purchased Lightroom 4 and provide my serial number then it asks for the prior serial number for Lightroom 3. The serial number that I have has letters and numbers and will not work. Please provide me with a serial number so that I may complete my install.  Please provide a phone number that can help me with this request.
    Thanks

As noted by JimHess the Educational version comes with a CODE and INSTRUCTION for what you need to do to get a valid serial number.
You must follow those instructions to get a valid serial number for LR 3.
But I must add that if you had lightroom 3 since it was released, even the educational version, you must of at one time gotten the serial number for it.
I'm not sure, since that version is now at least 4 years old (my copy is dated 2009), but I doubt Adobe is still running the serial number redemption service for lightroom 3.
So if you can't find the serial number for that version of LR 3 you will need to buy a Full Version of either LR 4 or LR 5

  • Automatic creation of serial number

    Hello guys,
In serial number profile, in serializing procedure for PPAU and PPRL i have maintained 4-automatic(creation of serial number) and this serial number profile i have given in workscheduling view of material master. When i create the production order for this material of qty 20,it gives serial number from 1 to 20.And again  i create the production order for it of qty 20,it gives serial number to it from 20 to 40.
Now my question is,in automatic creation of serial number from where it takes the number ranges.
Does it take from equipment category which we assign to serial number profile? If not than from where it takes?
             Thanking you guys.

    Dear Jitendra,
Automatic Serial Numbers come from Number Range Object which is defined in Tcode SNRO. Number range is also defined in SNRO only under number range object for specific purpose.
You can check in SNRO----> Overview which gives you Overview of Number Range Objects & Number Ranges defined from them.
So your serial numbers are coming automatically actually defined there only.
    Pls. go through the above.
Hope this will clarify your doubt.
If any doubt , pls. revert and reward if useful.

I purchased Adobe photoshop elements II and Adobe premiere elements II. They are both on one disc. My computer crasded and I had to reload Windows. I only have one serial number and it only works with photoshop II. The same serial number will not work for Premiere. I dont have any other serial numbers. What do I do???

    Static_Unit
I am getting a bit concerned about what is happening in your situation. Yesterday you posted your question in at least two different forums, one of them being here in the Premiere Elements Forum.
Don't Have Serial Number for Premiere, Only Photoshop?
Wherever you posted, the reply was to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat. It is the only one who can sort out this matter for you.
In the thread cited above I offered to help you with the difficulties that you were having visualizing the Adobe Chat in its web page. I was waiting for your follow up on that in the above thread. Instead, I find your same question in a new Adobe Premiere Elements Forum thread this afternoon with no refer the prior threads or prior recommendations given you.
I will also mention again...when you buy the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements bundled in one packaging and with installation files for each on the same installation disc, each program has its own serial number. The Photoshop Elements serial number does not work for Premiere Elements and vice versa. The serial numbers are on labels on a box which houses the installation disc envelope(s). So, if you purchased both programs and found the Photoshop Elements serial number, then the Premiere Elements serial number should be in a label right underneath the label with the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I recall writing this in your yesterday's thread on this matter.
The moderator will no doubt be along shortly to close or delete this thread. So, just in case, please bookmark your yesterday's thread cited above so that we can continue this communication which is trying to help you.
    Thanks.

  • Serial number has been registered before!

I bought a new macbook pro and was trying to register the product online. it is a sucsessful registration on the product. However when i try to update the MAC OS X to Lion, it cannot be updated and request to use the up-to-date program to submit some of the information.
I did submit twice on the up-to-date program. Cause the first email was reflected that the attached receipt was illegible. Hence, i upload another with a more high and clear pixel jpg. by right it should be clear enough. It still doesn't work out.
I call up to apple support to ask. With the Serial number check, found out that my serial number has been registered before with another person name, and is not under my name. moreover that the purchase date is on April 2011. Which cause my warranty to be expired on the April 2012.
I very doubt that my macbook pro is not new. Or been used before and return to the store.
DId anyone experience that same problem?

If the item is brand new out of the box then it may just simply be someone accidentally registered their system serial with yours by spelling mistake (S instead of 5, B instead of 8, etc..)
Best way to resolve this is just call AppleCare and provide them with your proof of purchase and the serial number, I'm sure they can sort it out if you get to the right department.

    Dear Venu,
You want to generate Alphanumeric Serial Number that is possible by following Enhancement for Serial Numbers:
Pls find here some details about generating alphanumeric serial numbers as below :
You can generate alphanumeric serial number with the following BADI / Customer Exit:
    Name of Enhancement : IQSM0001
Name of Function Module Exit: EXIT_SAPLIPW1_001
    Name of Include : ZXQSMU01
    ZXQSMU01:
This user exit can be used to create the serial numbers automatically for material of a production order. Number of serial numbers generated will be equal to the total number of quantity. The purpose behind development of this user exit was to attach prefix in each serial number generated.
so as per your requirement you can generate serial number like ABC0001 etc.
    Process Steps:
    For exit: EXIT_SAPLIPW1_001
    1. Get serial number profile for a material in respective plant.
    2. Check if the profile is u2018XYZu2019.
    3. If profile is u2018XYZu2019 generate the serial numbers for the given quantity of material in production order.
    General Program Structure
    For exit: EXIT_SAPLIPW1_001
    1. Get the serial number profile using function module 'MARC_SINGLE_READ' for a material.
    2. Check if the profile is u2018XYZu2019.
    3. If the serial number profile is u2018XYZu2019 then generate the serial numbers for the given production order quantity of a material.
    4. Concatenate ABC as a prefix to the all generated serial numbers
Provide above details reg. implementation BADI / Enhancement to your ABAPer and go ahead.
You can implement above Enhancement in CMOD.
    Hope this helps.
Revert in case of any doubt.
    Award points if useful.

  • My serial number for PS Elements 7 isn't working. I purchased it in 2011 and the computer that I was using it on broke. I finally got the download link from tech support but it keeps telling me my serial number isn't valid, now what?

I've been trying to figure this out for a long *** time now and it's getting seriously old. Anyone have any advice?

    Hi,
Did you buy PSE 7 as a download or as a set of discs?
PSE 9 was available in 2011 so I suspect you might have the disc set as I doubt Adobe would be selling older versions.
I believe that in the days of PSE 7, the download version and disc version had a different range of serial numbers and the two could not be interchanged.
If your serial number is for a disc version, then you need the installation discs to install it on your new system.

  • Finding Serial Number after migration to new laptop

    Hi there,
I have finally (and emotionally) retired my beloved G4 Powerbook for one of these new fangled MacBooks - very nice as I expected. To do this I used the migration tool as I always do and everything appeared hunky dory and exactly as it should be......until I fired up ARD. It is now prompting me for the serial number - this would of course be easy to get hold of if I had kept the box when I installed it about two years ago - however I didn't - my bad. I still have the Powerbook (luckily as I am a network administrator and kinda need ARD!) and was wondering of there was any way that anyone knew of to get the old serial number out of it so I can finally, properly retire her and run ARD on my new laptop. Any help gratefully appreciated !
    Cheers
    Si

Templeton is correct; there's no way to read the serial number off your existing computer since ARD keeps the number in an encrypted form. You might be able to get it to work by copying the com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist file in Library/Preferences to the same location on your new computer, but I haven't tried it so I'm not sure it will work. If not, the serial would have been on a small card that came in the package, so you'll need to find that. If you can't, you can try calling Apple and see if there's anything they can do for you, but it's doubtful.
    Good luck.
