Doubt on 3.x modeling..

Hi all,
I have some doubts..
How the PSA gets generated??
I mean does it contain ALL the fields which are there in data source????
Bcz, in my Data source i have 130 fields, in Transfer rules 135 fields has been mapped..
In PSA i have 87 fields...
i am bit confused, please guide.
regards,
Sarthak..

BI7.0 is downward compatible.....
it supports both 3.x as well as 7.0 and as far as objects are concerned infoobjects , cubes , DSOs etc are not affected by BI7.0

  • Best way in using models & Increasing performance

    Hi all,
I had some doubts in creation of model objects.
1.How many RFCs can a model object can contain?
2.I had a business senario where i had to use 4 Fm for performing a task.If i craete a single model object for this 4 Fun modules. Will it increase performance or else creating a model object for each fun module.will incresae the performance.
3.Are there any good docs in SDN for Best practices or performance increasing in creation and using of model objects.please do paste the links or anyone have any docs plz send me.
    Thanks & Rgards,
    Lokesh

    HI...
1.How many RFCs can a model object can contain?
    SAP recommonds...
RFC Connection pools are specific to JCO Destination.
Therefore, all deployed applications using the same model object pointing to the same JCO destination will share the SAME CONNECTION POOL.
This fact defines both the scope of the connection management and determines the number of oncurrent application that may use the JCO destination.
A MODEL OBJECT SHOULD CONTAIN THOSE RFMS THAT SUPPLY THE FUNCTIONALITY OF EITHER A DISCRETE BUSINESS TASK OR SOME ATOMIC SUBSET OF THE BUSINESS TASK
-> HAVING ONE RFM PER MOEDL IS INEFFICIENT FROM A CONNECTION MANAGEMENT POINT OF VIEW.
-> HAVING ALL YOUR RFMS IN ONE BIG MODEL OBJECT IS INEFFICIENT FROM A REUSE POINT OF VIEW
2.I had a business senario where i had to use 4 Fm for performing a task.If i craete a single model object for this 4 Fun modules. Will it increase performance or else creating a model object for each fun module.will incresae the performance.
As above described if the RFMs supply the functionality for a single task then put it in one model

When I bought this iphone the salesman told that was Iphone 3GS.
I'm confuse that when i saw my friends iphone that so many difference tools.

  • Windows 8 Release Preview on Mac Mini mid 2011

I was wondering if its possible to install Windows 8 Release Preview on a Mac Mini mid 2011 via Bootcamp (Mainly for gaming purposes)

I've finally got it installed on my HP Touchsmart 610-1000t (or whatever the number is).....
    Apparently it's a graphics card/driver issue.
I downloaded the enterprise final release and it did the same thing to me (black screen etc etc).
In the end, I highly doubt some of these models are compatible with windows 8 if the final release is giving me the same problem.  The only difference is- now the sleep button worked, so I fiddled around with it until I got it fully installed (user created).  After doing so, I booted into Safe mode and disabled the graphics driver/restarted and it booted up fine/works fine.  Every now and then it crashes on IE10.  I wasn't able to test the touch capabilities during the releases between developer and final, so it wasn't until now I can finally test the functionarlity of ALL the gesture functionality.  I can say, the combination of the touch screen desktop and short cut keys makes everything so much quicker and easier.  I perfer windows 8 over windows 7 on my touchscreen, finally the touchscreen experience is much better! Of course I still use my keyboard and mouse.  The touch pinning/swiping is awesome.  I can't say the same for normal desktops in a corporate environment (without touchscreens).....I can say however- windows 8 tablets would be really nice in place of my Ipad or my laptop that I carry around from meeting to meeting, thus the reason I'm waiting for the Surface!  CItrix and apps can only take you so far.

  • Microsoft Sql server data-mining add-on for excel 2013:

In browsing the models using excel data-mining add-on the browsing query recognized that the query times out after 60 seconds. The question is how we can increase the query time-out
    time for data-mining add-on?

Perhaps you are meaning the timeout settings for your Analysis Server -- under Properties, General, DatabaseConnectionPoolConnectTimeout defaults to 60.   Though I doubt that browsing any model should take 60 seconds.  Try browsing the model
from Management Studio and seeing if you also need a lot of time.

  • 303 disc error

My Pavilion G6 has thrown up a 303 disc error.  HP are sending me a new HDD and recovery kit, but what can I recover?
I have backup via Virgin Media so should be able to get music/videos etc but what about all downloaded programs.
eg. Winzip, Norton 360, Spotify (I use this a lot), and many others.
Do the programs I've found on IE really solve 303 errors, I have doubts?
    PC Details:-
    Model:                                        Pavilion G6-1371ea

    Disk:                                          HTS54757A9E384
    Purchased:                               04 April 2012
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
A 303 error is a failure of the short Disk Self Test and usually indicates a physical problem with the drive - ie sectors that can no longer be written to or read from.  There is certainly software around that can mark these 'bad' sectors not to be used and the drive may well then pass a diagnostic, however this is really just masking the problem.
Regarding your software, the Recovery Discs shipped with your new HDD will reinstall nearly all of the software originall bundled with your notebook, but you'll need to re-download and install any third party applications such as Spotify again.

  • IBook flames out after startup

A friend's iBook started freezing soon after startup. That problem has now escalated to spontaneous shutdown either during or shortly after startup. The same thing happened when I tried to boot the iBook in target disk mode. Any ideas what's going on? Is the motherboard fried?
One additional detail: "About this Mac" reports that this iBook is a 1.07GHz G4. I doubt that such a model exists.

Hi, I just had the same trouble, I have a 1.33Ghz iBook, The screen went black and had random shutdowns. After looking at the system console, I looked this line:
May 27 23:40:56 localhost kernel[0]: ApplePMU::PMU forced shutdown, cause = -127, found that after some time the PMU needs resetting, so it can work properly again.
I tried resetting the PRAM and the PMU, and Boom, now working nicely

Note that when you reset the PMU, the computer instantly restarts, so don't do it when working or anything…

  • Looking for Printers

I have three printers and 2TB external disk connected to my Extreme base station.
Ever since I upgraded to 7.6, the printers go away after a day or so of innactivity and the attached Mac's hang "looking for printers" and a restart of the Extreme is required.  The 2TB time machine disk that's attached never fails.  All are connected via generic/cheap powered USB hub (which has been swapped out a couple times and works fine on any desktop machine without fail).
    Printers are:
    Brother MFC-465CN
    Epson Stylus Photo R380
    HP Photosmart 7960
But I doubt the printer make/model has anything to do with it.

  • MBP 13" not really faster than MB 13"

    Hi
I want to upgrade my 4 year old MB 13". I really like the size... I waited a long time for the new processors to come. Now I discovered that the 13" model does not feature the i5 and i7 processors and I heard that the 13" MBP cannot be compared to the 15" model in terms of performance.
I will do more photo editing (photoshop) and video editing (final cut express) and my old MB is getting really slow...
Any advice on choice of Macbook - Pro or normal...
    Thanks!

    Hi niefl,
First of all (and I know this isn't quite what your are asking) although the new MBP isn't as fast as the new 15" model, it is a LOT quicker than a four year old MB. We have an early 2 GHz black CD MacBook (about the same generation as yours), a later , Core 2 Duo, MB, a SantaRosa 15" MBP from 2007, and a June 2009 13" MBP . Even the June 2009 13" model is much, much faster in any situation that requires processor power for things like photo editing or video editing than the early 2 GHz MB .
As far as comparison with the late 2009 polycarbonate MB goes, the benchmarks published by MacWorld (see http://www.macworld.com/article/147071/2010/04/13inchmacbookprobenchmarks.html) indicate that the new MBP 13 is a bit faster than the MB but not by a huge margin - maybe about 10% on most tasks.
But there are other very good reason to get the MBP if you can afford the extra couple of hundred dollars. For video work the huge difference is firewire. USB is better on recent Macs than it was in the days when your old MB was released, but it is still slower than FW400 and much, much slower than the Firewire 800 available on the MBP but not the MB.
Secondly the "standard" base configuration of the MBP comes with 4 gig of RAM, while the MB comes with just 2Gig. To do what you want to do efficiently you will need at least 4 gig of RAM. You will really notice the benefit of this with both photo editing and video work. Simply upgrading the RAM on the MB to 4 gig will cost you around half the difference in price between the two machines anyway!
Thirdly, the MBP comes with an illuminated keyboard. I never realised how useful this would be until I obtained my first MBP. Once you have been using one for a while it is hard to go back to the non-iluminated one.
Fourthly the MBP is a little lighter and slimmer than the MB.
Fifthly, our own experience has been that the aluminium MBPs are substantially tougher than the polycarbonate ones. Not only are they much more scratch resistant, but they are also less prone to case fractures through minor knocks.
Sixth, they have batteries / power management systems that give you longer battery charge life.
Seventh, they provide full sound output through the minidisplay port if you wish to hook up to an HDMI TV (unlike the MB)
    Finally, they look better!
If you assume that you will have to upgrade the MB to 4 Gig of RAM anyway, then you get all the rest for just $100!
Pretty hard to beat when it comes to value IMHO!
Having said all of that, there is no doubt that the base model i5 MBP 15" is a very sweet computer, and ideal for the purposes you speak of, but if your budget, or demands for portability, means that you are choosing between the 13" MBP and the MB, I think the current model of the MBP13 wins hands down when it comes to overall value, and is a bit faster too.
    Cheers
    Rod

  • Currency Data Model doubt

    Dear experts,
I have a doubt regarding data modelling in BPC.
I have a dimension called Units which is my Currency dimension in the Application, I don't use the standard RptCurrency diemnsion. This dimension has members which are crrencies such as EUR, DOL, LC and units such as BOX, KG.
We have done this because we plan in the input schedules, Sales Volumes in BOX and Prices in EUR.  Now we want to calculate de Net Incomes, which should be BOX * EUR. We are not able to create the script logic which does this because of the currency.
Is this model correct? This is, does it have sense in BPC or is it possible, to multiply two accounts with different currencies, or should we instead, need another dimension (user defined) for the units maintaining the standard currency Dimension (RptCurrency)?
This is a very common thing to do when planning, how do you experts solve this?
Thanls a lot for your time and your help.
    Best regards,
    Cecilia

it contains only 11 places before decimals ...
below program gives a dump with
    'Overflow when converting from "1234567890123.11"'
    data : v_curr type PAD_AMT7S. "( Curr 13 , 2)
    v_curr = '1234567890123.11'.
while it runs perfectly when we give
    v_curr = '12345678901.11'. " ( 11 + 2 )

  • Modifying the cube model & others doubts

    Hello Experts,
I have a few doubts about certain BW30B concepts which I would like to seek help from experts in this very impressive forum.
    A. From which ODS table does Init/Delta process use to load into connected data target?
    B. When data model is changed to add a new attribute, must the Transfer Structure/Data Source be changed as well to include it, just as comm structure, transfer & update rules are modified?
    C. To add a new characteristic into the model, I deleted existing cube data & added a new characteristic to this cube to avoid copying existing queries. A new cube is created with existing cube as template. Existing cube data is loaded into this new cube. Then, I adapted txfr & update rules and infosource. One way to complete the change is to load historical data for only the new characteristic from source system and then reload existing data from the new copy cube. The other way is simply to load all history from source system into emptied modified existing cube. I would like to clarify on the steps for the earlier method I mentioned. I cannot understand how data for only the new char can be loaded and then reload from copy cube back into modified, existing cube. Please help to clarify on this method.
    D. When adding a new keyfigure, datasource is changed accordingly but its not stated that for char change, data source also need to be changed accordingly. I would think it needs to be changed too for any char / kf added to the model. Please could you confirm this with me.
    E. For aggregates, how many maximum characteristics can be used as line item dimensions, not inclusive of data package,time/unit dimensions? Is it that only unit is optional dimension? Please confirm this with me as well.
    F. Under what condition must the inventory marker not be updated?
Would be greatful for any useful help given.
    warmest regards,
    Alfonso Spinelli

    Hi Alfonso,
    Some answers for you:
    A. Data is taken from the Change log table.
    B. It depends...if you need to get the data fro the new attribute from the sourec system, then yes the data source and transfer structure will change. If the new data is being populated by reading some values that are already in BW tables, then you would not need to change the datasource. The you would change the comm structure and update rules.
    C. The method you are talking about, i.e. create a copy of the cube, move data from original to copy and then reload back to original...is used to preserve the data. If you add a new char to an existing dimension, you need to delete the data of the cube. So this method is the workaround, because you have parked the data and then would not need to reload from the source. However, if you are adding a new char to a new dimension, you do not need to delete the data. Of course for the ne char, you will have data only from this point onwards. If you need all history data for the new char, you would need to reload from the source.
    D. The answer to this is similar as point B. If you have the data for that char and can reuse it in your cube load (by coding in your update rules), then you would not need to change the datasource.
    E. For line item dimensionswe will always have only one char, be it cube or aggregate. See dimensions are groupings of chars. P, T and U dimensions will always be there, like Time dimension will contain the chars like 0CALMONTH, 0FISCPER...
    Hope this helps...

  • DOUBT|comprehensive model | gateway configuration | CVP VXMLServer

    Hi all,
Am setting up a comprehesive mode
call flow is like that call from ACD will come through ivr through E1 and calls will be forwrded to cvp servers by static route and bootstarp serveices is invoke for icm label creation configured in gateway. Now my doubt is,how to make some 3 to 4 servers to handle calls simultaneoulsy without preference model wihout proxy servers .As of now am working with one CVP server>need to add few more
is there any configuartion required to do this
    ACD------>  gaetway------>CVP servers----->ICM-------->IVR will play
    Thanks
    Bala

    Hello Bala,
The only other way i can think of is sending the call to the DNS Server where it can resolve to multiple IP address using a DNS SRV file. Below is the section from CVP SRND which explains your scenario.
"When a call arrives at an Ingress Gateway, the dial peer can use DNS to alternate calls between the
two SIP Proxy Servers. The SIP Proxy Servers can also use DNS to distribute incoming calls among
multiple SIP Services. If SIP Proxy Servers are not being used, then the Ingress Gateway can use
DNS directly to distribute inbound calls among multiple SIP Services"
You can achieve this using the dial-peer Session Target.
    dial-peer voice 75795 voip
          session target dns:cvp.callserver.com
Have a look at the below blog which explains the SIP Proxy Reduncancy, but it can also be done for CVP

But when i am running the model it is taking huge time , before it didn't happen to me , but now it is taking very huge time comparitively , and it is getting strucked . I don't know the reason why it is happenning ( Taking huge time and model getting strucked) . could you explain me:
    1. what are the requirements for running SVM Model (space or any other settings internally ..... )
    2. Is there any solution for this problem ?
Note :_ Atlast i can't see whether the model has been ran or not .

    Hi,
There is not enough information in your posting to offer much in the way of suggestions.
Are you using Data Miner to build the model or are you using the api?
Do the input columns contain any nested columns?
Are you properly transforming the input columns?
If you are using Data Miner this is done for you but if you are using the api you must accomplish this on your own or generate pl/sql code from Data Miner.
