Doubt on the motherboard drivers

Hello guys, I'm very confused by the drivers of this Z97 gaming motherboard 7. First thing in the manual talks about two different chipset: Intel and ASMedia, I choose one ?, install both? or which one is better? About USB 3.0 driver the same dilemma, should I install Intel or ASMedia?

Quote from: badboy2k on 22-May-15, 09:05:28
Install both! i say that as the intel chip is used for some ports and the ASMedia chip is used to increase that number so if you install one the board will only be able to use part of the ports!
Intel chipset drivers are basic MB chipset drivers. so they actually are all needed
2 different ASMedia drivers are required for (SATA 7/8) & some of the USB 3.0 ports.
They actually are all needed. See the specs page for the MB. Click on the 'Detail' button to see what ports are covered by the different drivers.

  • Install motherboard drivers or SP2 first?

I doing a fresh install since my pc kept locking up after my last attempt two nights ago.
What do I install first, the motherboard drivers or SP 2?
    Athlon 3200 on a K8N NEO2 Platinum

I brought my computer back to the shop today because my BFV game still lock up after 5 seconds of the game starting. Medal of Honour lasted 10 minutes before locking up.
I suspect ram is the issue, since with one stick the game runs, but put the second stick back in the game locks up again.
I tried two sticks of Samsung 512mb DDR400 PC3200, and the same thing happened.
The techs at the shop think it is SP2 that is causing my problems and that I should be using SP1.
Except when I was loading SP2 last night the computer completed locked up on me. So I doubt it's SP2.
    Any thoughts?
Also, the lights on the D bracket, they start lighing up. Usually starts with one, followed by another , than another, until finally after 5-8 seconds they are all lit up. And when I boot the computer some of them start off red an go green as it boots. Not sure if this is normal either?

  • Error installing motherboard drivers

I recently had to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. When I use the download from HP to reinstall my mother board drivers I keep getting an error: "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)." in the error window that comes up after I close that message I get: "1800: Error opening file/pathToInstall=FileGet(filename,""). Winbatch 32 2009B. WILversion: 6.09bib." When I do a "Traceback" it shows: "291 pathToInstall=FileGet(fi...instll.wbt)
After I clear my screen of all the error messages the winow showing that, "Lightscribe System Software" is in progress. But nothing happens except the little green bar keeps going round and round and round. How do I fix it or how do I find the drivers that will install?

Most reinstalls require the motherboard drivers at first step.  The chipset drivers first of all. I would wipe the install and try again.   Without the model number it is difficult to give good advice.
BTW: what are you using to install WinXP?  If you use the Recovery DVD set or the Recovery partition, that will also solve any reisntall problems.

  • Blank screen after a change in the motherboard's Bios

    Hi,
Recently, I have bought a MSI motherboard - 865PE Neo2 FIS2R. The computer works fine after I installed all the components and applications (including Windows XP [included Service Pack 1], Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility and all the drivers), as well as updating the bios to the most recent version.
However, after I changed one of the bios settings as follows:
    1. Select Frequency/Voltage Control.
    2. Select Performance Mode
    3. Select Ultra-Turbo
then I try to quit and choose Exit & Save Changes and press the Enter key on the keyboard. Immediately after, the screen fails to show anything.
The reset button on the computer case also fails to response (the reset button works before this incident). So, I shut down the computer, wait for a while and then power it up again, the monitor still does not show anything. Also, I do not hear any special beep sound. At that time, all the fans in the case (including CPU fan, system fans, power fans and video card fan) are moving. Here are the things that I have also tried:
    1) I have tried the monitor and video card separately on another computer and both the monitor and video card work fine.
    2) Also, I have tried to clear the CMOS following the procedure mentioned in the manual jumper but the screen still fails to show anything.
    Here is my computer's configuration:
    Motherboard  :  865PE Neo2 FIS2R (Bios version 1.4)
    CPU :           Intel Pentium 4 2.8CGHz (800 FSB)
    Memory :        Crucial PC3200 512MB CL3 (two of these)
Graphic card :  128MB Crucial Radeon 9800 Pro
    Hard disk :     IBM DTLA-307030
Case :          Thermaltake Xaser III V1000A Black
    Power Supply :  TruePower 380 12V AC 380W ATX TRUE380PGB
Therefore, may I know if the problem is solvable and what caused the problem. Also, I have just bought the motherboard for about 2 weeks, should I go back to the retailer to get a replacement?
Thank you anyone whom may help.

The difference in the performance modes above SLOW is the DRAM SPD timings used ...seems yours is unstable at the Ultra-turbo settings (you may be able to use this setting if you increase your DDR voltage slightly though (I use 2.7v for my CORSAIR)) ...only trouble is gaining access to the BIOS to do this
A few things you can try:-
Use only a single stick of memory -go into BIOS and increase the DDR voltage or reduce the performance setting
If that fails and you have another type of DDR available try using a single stick of that instead (DDR 2700 has worked for me in the past) ...this will force your motherboard to boot at the SLOW timings -you can then enter the bios and increase the DDR voltage, save, shutdown and reinstall your memory.
Try booting with the "Insert" key pressed to force the BIOS defaults to be used
Remove the power cord press the "start" button a few times (to discharge any power left in the PSU) remove the CMOS battery and set the jumper to the "CLEAR" position ...have a cup of tea (or coffee) ...reset the jumper, install the battery, insert the power cord, cross your fingers and BOOT?

  • Qosmio F10 with replaced mainboard: Where can I find the right drivers?

    Hello guys,
Toshiba service replaced the board with a new one including a geforce 6600 gpu on my F10. So, now I formated the laptop and I want to put again back everything to work. But I see now that there are some different devices, like the 6600go gpu.
Where can i find the drivers (lan, chipset, modem..etc.) On the toshiba web site? If i choose qosmio F10 downloads, I get the drivers for the old motherboard (and graphics card 5700).
Anyone knows where to get the right drivers? thanks!

    Hello
    Check please THIS page.
I presume that chipset driver and also LAN driver are the same.

  • Ms-6390L Motherboard drivers?

Lost Driver disc that came with the motherboard. Cannot find the drivers on the msi website for this motherboard. The network controller appears to be a realtek model RTL8101L. I found the graphics drivers. ie. s3prosavage onboard drivers and the audio drivers ie. via ac97' sound. All i found was some reference to some realtek audio drivers. That was the closest i got to the network drivers. A link would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance. :P
    added:
found them at realtek website under network controllers ic ver 5.5 was out. hope this helps someone else out. btw double check msi site in onboard lan driver section. only mention to a driver remotely close is a realtek 8139 lan driver which is the wrong one.

  • Question vis Motherboard drivers for Vista

I note that Nvidia have released Graphics Drivers for Vista 97.46
When I looked at the Platform drivers they were only for Windows XP/2000.
I will be moving over to Windows Vista Home Premium this weekend.
Will the 9.16 drivers I use so far, work.
    Thanks in advance.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_570a_sli_winvista32_15.00.html
I found this on the Nvidia Download page of their website.
The driver is for Nforce 570SLI/570/550.
However when you read below the main heading it says WHQL for 570SLI.
    It is for Vista 32bit.
Could anybody tell me if this driver package will conflict with my Motherboard.? ???
    Thanks in advance.

  • K9N6GM-V motherboard Drivers

Sorry for not putting my signature, or maybe  even  putting the topic in the wrong forum
    the problem is:
My friend bought a new PC with a Linux installation, so afterwords she bought a windows to be installed also.
She got the drivers for the motherboard for windows XP and VISTA, and  is the problem both cds dont work, so when I installed XP I couldnt install the drivers.
I'm writing this from my computer.
Me being stupid, I didnt take the manual for the motherboard, just the serial number K9N6GM-V, and when I tried to
search for it I couldnt find it.
Can any one help me and tell me what motherboard K9N6GM-V is that actually ?
    Thanks in advance

I'm not sure, I'm and idiot and dint write anything else except the code K9N6GM-V. She got the mainboard with its original box, whit a couple of cds for XP and Vista, and a lot of documentation for is, so its got be somewhere on the net  :(

  • I have an MSI K7N2GM-V and I want the latest drivers

hey im new to this forum and I have an MSI K7N2GM-V and I want the latest drivers. Can someone give me a link for the latest drivers for this motherboard??

Quote from: osnavi on 18-September-05, 08:03:22
"...That does not always work if the drivers were not originally installed using that method..."  Well, if he/she doesn't know where to get latest drivers, most possible he did use that method.....
    Most Possible... absolutely
    is that correct?
    I can’t say 100%
If they are not experience and installed from the original CD and have never updated, the Live update server would probably be the best choice
But, if they bought the computer from someone that already had updated drivers in it or somewhere along the line got help from an experienced operator who did not use the LU system to install updates, the novice may overwrite already updated or better drivers than the LU system provides.
There are allot of variables and I was not trying to say anyone was wrong... just bringing to mind that since there is no crystal ball to see into their system I cannot say if updating through the LU system would not overwrite better drivers than are already installed on their system
I was just pointing out we need more input from rice4dinner
    That’s all I meant

It's not in the Taiwan site. Google found it here: http://www.suse.com/us/business/certifications/certified_hardware/hp/evo_d310t/
It appears to be an OEM board made for HP. Search around their site.

  • Z87 MPOWER: the motherboard hangs up at code A2 every once in a while

I just built this computer...my first build in about ten years.
the motherboard hangs up at code A2 every once in a while. 4 out of 10 reboots it wont post and gets stuck at A2..... if it makes it past that it works fine.
I searched and that code appears to be SATA related. I swapped sata cables, no effect.. I'm using the cables that came with the Mpower mobo.

    I've already swapped cables....
I've got a better handle on the symptom. and its very repeatable.
It only posts when I use the reset button.
A power on or reboot from windows will hang it at A2.
it wasn't doing this when I first built it... but I installed a bunch of drivers. for the mobo and the video card.
For the mainboard drivers, using Live Update or did you download and install them manually?

  • MOTHERBOARD DRIVERS DISC

    Hi folks,
Does anybody use the motherboard driver disc that comes with your motherboard?
My board is a 770-C45. I normally just let the operating system find and install the updates, and use the MSI live to find the required files.
    thanks.

I thought at first you were asking about W7 from reading posts 2 & 3, but it doesn't seem you specify what OS you are discussing.   If the OS has been out for a while, I use the CD for the chipset, lan, and audio.  But, what I really do is go to the website and download the drivers needed beforehand and put them on a USB drive.  I used live update for 2 weeks when I built my first MSI machine, see system 2, but dumped it after that.  We definitely do NOT advise using a Windows based flash utility, such as Live Update, to flash a BIOS.

  • I need to install the HP drivers on a laptop with a broken screen in order to get VGA port to work.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
Hewlett Packard Model: 2000 2a20ca Notebook
Oh my god please give me some insight here, it is so hard to find the right answers and I refuse to lose to this technical box that's driving me nuts! So here's the run down:
My screen broke on laptop...fine. It was connected via HDMI to TV and working fine. Until one day it decided to not turn on. I think due to Windows updates and hubby had no patience so kept restarting
I tried to reload Windows on it, not thinking about the drivers, and I'm pretty sure I managed to reload Windows. Now I need the drivers to install chipset, networking etc. (which I have a disc for)
The problem is I cannot see the screen in order to click "install", I can't see the BIOS or the boot sequence. Ugh! And even if I could, the drivers are not installed to use the CD ROM or VGA port.
I can HEAR Windows start up and turn on! Doo-DO-Doo-DO lol the darn thing is working!
The monitor works in my other laptop.
Would/Should the VGA monitor work if I could get it to start in safe mode?
I've heard of a program that can streamline the driver's into a Windows installation disc so everything is installed altogether but how can I reinstall Windows if the drivers aren't loaded for the CD ROM?
Is there a way to get the necessary drivers installed? or is this notebook now garbage?

    RocknRoll77 wrote:
    Seriously?
    1.  The model number is the first thing at the top aside from the OS.
    2.  In my explanation it states:  "I have the drivers on a disk"
    Thanks for all your help!
Getting the drivers is not the problem.  Getting the drivers installed on a laptop with a broken screen...is the problem.
Ok, well sometimes you can't use external monitor to see what is happening in some laptops and the only real way to fix this is to fix the broken screen so you can reformat and resinstall the system again. Those are you only options at this point in time.
