Doubt with Appraisal Document

Dear Experts.
I am implementing Appraisal Document for ESS, but I need know if Appraisal Document that appear in the Portal ESS/MSS are the right but in the Backend. This for check if the information showed in the Portal ESS/MSS is the right.?

    Hello Juan,
    what you are looking at is standard functionality provided by the WD ABAP ALV table view (which is used by the POWL - of which these are examples) - the user themselves can define their own views of the data (and you can I believe - although I have not yet tried - even define them globally and assign them as defaults).
    Have a look at the POWL feeder class used by the appraisal status view - I think that it explicitly enhancable through a BAdI - if not then you could always just enhance the feeder class yourself. I'm not sure that you could include an action link column in the POWL, but you can certainly include a new button at the top of the list - and allow actions to be launched on selecting a row of the table and then clicking that button.

  • Appraisal documents with Webdynpro application

    Hi All,
    in my system i can see some of the webdynpro application for appraisals
    e.g.
    HAP_START_PAGE_UI  with application hap_a_ess_start_page
    HAP_DOCUMENT_LINK with application hap_document_link
    etc..
    but when i am trying to run the application i am getting the error message
    Error when inserting or changing in a sorted table
    I have already created the appraisal template and all and those are running with the hap_document_pa BSP application.
    I just have the requirement of look and feel changes so i want to check this out.

    An objective setting cycle encompasses the following phases:
    Planning
    In a planning consultation, the necessary qualifications and competencies are first identified for an employee and then concrete objectives and required performance levels are agreed. For example, sales targets could be defined and the employee could agree to take on specific tasks in a project, and so on. These aspects can be defined by the manager, by the employee or both. The employeeu2019s personal training and development requirements are discussed and entered in the objective setting agreement.
    Review
    During the review, the objectives agreed with the employee during the planning phase are checked and adjusted to reflect the current situation. The manager and employee discuss the possible need for support, establish whether the objectives defined in the planning phase are still relevant, and add further objectives or decide to delete obsolete ones. Furthermore, the manager can make comparisons between the objectives set previously and the employeeu2019s current performance.
    Appraisal
    During the appraisal, the manager and employee discuss the extent to which the employee has fulfilled the set objectives. They check and assess the employeeu2019s overall performance and the implementation of concrete set objectives. Any further training requirements or an overfulfillment of the objectives are identified in the different areas. The appraisal document is completed when the manager and employee agree on an valuation. As soon as the appraisal document is saved in the system as Completed or Approved, the employeeu2019s compensation can be adjusted automatically and the employeeu2019s qualifications profile can be updated

  • Appraisal Document in MSS

    Dear Expert,
    In this moment I have the following doubt:
    We have the following scenary. In the company exist severals employess that evaluate to other employee. They are not boss. Only have the work of evaluate to some employees.
    With the t.code PHAP_PREPARE_PA, we prepare the appraisal documents in the backend, but this not are displayed the service for MSS.
    My question is: The system for this service check only the structure in OM and not check the appraisal prepared with the t.code PHAP_PREPARE_PA?
    With this service only  the boss can evaluate to the employee subordinated?

    We are using WD ABAP for PM.
    My scenary is the following:
    Employee 00000001
    Employee 00000002
    Boss = 00000003
    The employee 00000002 not is boss. But the company have a process for that some employee can evaluate to ther employee.
    Employee 00000002 evaluate to employee 00000001.
    In the sctructure the boss of the employee 00000001 is 00000003.
    The employee 00000002 is written in the document as appraiser.
    We assigned the role of MSS for the employee 00000002, however in the MSS the list of Appraisal Document not appear in the POWL of this service.

    I am implementing PM (Appraisal Document) ESS/MSS with BP 1.41. However I have the following doubt:
    When an employee had a "Organizational Change" and the boss  want see the appraisals that were did for this emplooyee.
    My question is: With the MSS The boss can see  this appraisal also ?

    In order to display an appraisal document, access to the template, the
    appraiser and the appraisee is needed. Besides the two ways outlined
    above, you can also disable the authority check against the appraiser.
    You can do this in the appraisal template in the 'Processing' tab; the
    setting is called 'No Authorization Check for Appraiser'. Despite the
    slightly misleading description, this option disables the check against
    the appraiser, so for accessing a document only the objects of the
    template and the appraisee are checked. This is convenient, if managers
    should be able to see old documents of their employees, no matter who
    did the appraisal.
    To enable that flag in the template, you might need to unrelease the
    template first. In your test system you can either set the flag directly
    in table 'HRP5025' or take a look at note '888650'. The report included
    in that note allows you to temporary unrelease a template. If you use
    that report, please only change this flag, since changing other
    settings, might result in data inconsistency. When you are finished,
    release the template again.
    or if you dont want to set this parameter, you can consider the BADI
    In order to see or find an appraisal document, you need to have
    structural authorization for the objects involved; for all employees and
    the appraisal template.
    In case 1, the appraiser of department 2 does not have the authorization
    to display the personal data of appraiser 1.
    In case 2, appraiser 2 does not have the necessary authorization to
    display the appraisee of the document.
    Thus this is the expected system behavior. I can think of two possible
    solutions:
    1) You could enhance the structural authorization of the affected
    appraisers.
    2) Implement the BAdI 'HRHAP00_AUTHORITY'. With this BAdI you can
    whitelist certain documents by adding them to 'T_APPRAISAL_ID'. If you
    set 'NO_STANDARD_CHECK', these documents pass the authorization check
    and can be displayed.

  • How to trigger follow up processing actions in appraisal documents?

    Hi gurus,
    We are customizing the performance management process using Objective Settings and Appraisals (ECC 6.0; Enh.Pack 4, ESS/MSS with business pack 1.41) and we have customized the evaluation templates (transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA) with the enhancement "Follow-Up Proc. (Background) - Adjust Qualific. (Start Date)" in Follow-up Processing section of the Processing tab, at template level (VA object).
    The system functions is ok, and the cualification appears in the employee profile (transaction PPPM) correctly after the performance management especialist trigger it using the admin report (transaction PHAP_ADMIN_PA).
    My question is: Is there anyway to automatically trigger the follow-up processing after the appraisal document is finished? Do we need to develop in ABAP a new implementation of some BADI?

    That's not what happens for our (custom) appraisal: follow-up process(es) are not started when the status becomes "completed", neither from the backend nor the portal. We always have to manually launch the follow-up process from the phap_admin transaction, and select the ones we want to be done.
    In phap_catalog, we have a couple of follow-up processes that are selected in the "Processing" tab.
    when the approval process is activated (infty 5025) and or status 6,7,8,9 are selected then the follow up process only takes place after status change to close approved.
    Even when setting the status to "closed approved", no follow-up process is started.
    Any suggestion? Isn't there a setting somewhere that should be set in order for the follow-up prpcesses to be automatically started when the status is set to "completed"?

    For Appraisal document customizing through PHAP_CATALOG_PA, We have BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL  to change the BSP application name which can be used in Web layout for output display. Using this we can change application name from HAP_DOCUMENT to custom BSP application name
    Similarly, what is the BADI for changing Web dynpro ABAP applictaion name? Currently its triggering HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.

    I don't know, if there is any chance to get the Webdynpro application name. At least in the ABAP System fields is no information about the webdynpro application name.
    One remark: I have allways problems with BAPIS / BADIS that behave different depending on the caller. Could it be a good idea to pass some information through the interface / parameters?

  • Shortdump while accessing Appraisal document in portal-Null obj ref.not pos

    Hi all,
    We are implementing Performance Management in Ehp4 with EP 7.1, flexible template   We have been facing an issue where in Portal while we are trying to click on Appraisal document either in ESS or MSS, it dos not open anything instead we are getting
    short dump error in ST22.  We have performed the portal and ESS setup as per the SAP recommended  notes.
    1272076 - Appraisal Nav
    1408243 - OBN
    1416756 - OBN Confi
    1463821 - Portal confi
    1458466 - Launchpad config
    The short dump error analysis as follows.
    Short text
        Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
      An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
      The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
       caught in
      procedure "READ_ATTR_ALL_FOR_CASETYP" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a
       RAISING clause.
      Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
      exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
      The reason for the exception is:
      You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
      access a component (variable: "LO_CASE_CUST").
      An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
      before it can be used to access components.
      Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
      CLEAR statement.
    Just wondering if any one of you came across this issue.  I have put external break point at  main appraisal component
    HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT and class CL_HAP_WD_DOCUMENT_UI. But it didn't go through. I think because this abap dynpro not being called due to url issue and thus dump says null pointer exception.

    hi all,
    we are getting problem in Appraisal document in career and job service in Employee self service.
    when we give the Administration Role to Ess user at portal level i am able to see the appraisal document but when we trying to see the document window is opening with page not found.
    if we delete the administrator role at portal side for the Ess user i am not able to see any appraisal document that i am getting the Error
         Appraisal Documents (WD UI)  
    Portal runtime error.
    An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.

    Refer to the log file for details about this exception.
    i added Everyone default Group also.

    Check 1. Permission of roles  2. Security zone permissions
    administrator user will not work as it will be SSO, create proper test user in Portal and R/3 both, and then check whether it is working or not, still if any issue please reply.

  • Appraisal Documents (WD UI) open the same page in the pop up browser.

    Hi Expert,
        I am using the business package for  Appraisal Documents. I got some problem on navigate to the new browser.
       When the user click on a link in 'Appraisal Documents (WD UI)' in should open a new pop up for Appraisal Document(HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT), but It open Appraisal Documents (WD UI) again in the new pop up browser.
       I am not sure whether i did it correct or not. Below is the step that i did.
    - Copy Appraisal Documents (WD UI) page and Appraisal Document'(HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) to the folder.
    - Change system alias for pages.
    - Add Appraisal Document (WD UI) operation of Employee Business object to Appraisal Documents (WD UI) page.
    - Assign them to the role.
      Could you please suggest. If you have a document about using the page from business package please provide me

    we kindly recommend you to re-check note 1600380 paying attention to
    point 1.2 which deals with the relevant configuration to ESS for
    flexible process.
    please notice per default role delivery two services two roles for
    Performance Management will be displayed. Both services are named
    Appraisal documents. The difference is that one service is for the
    Predefined Management Process employee access, the other one for the
    configurable/flexible Performance Management employee access. The ESS
    business package is set up in a way that all services/iviews are in
    default role delivery available and customer can choose which one to
    leave in (This is different to MSS where there is an standard role
    delivery and a hidden iview delivery. There the customer can choose
    whether or not to remove existing iviews in standard role delivery or if
    the ones which are hidden shall be made visible in the role).

  • Manager's problem with appraisal

    Hi there
    Our MSS users are able to see their subordinates' appraisal documents, but not their own.
    I am using evaluation path O-O-S-P for object O with RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNMENT.
    But now according to SU53, the system is asking for object P, with DISP and INSE to his own personnel number.
    I tried to add object P without any evaluation path and FM into the Manager's structural profile, it works (manager can see his own appraisal document), BUT then it allows Managers to see other people's information as well, which is not right.
    Nerxt, I tested again by adding FM RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNMENT into the P object, and it doesn't work.
    What's your advice?

    are you using the context solution?
    if so, this can be resolved through the auth switch DFCON:
    HR: Default position (context)
      Use
        Authorization main switch that controls how the system reacts for
        personnel numbers that are not linked to the organizational structure
        (this means for those in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001)
        that have the default position as their position), if the context
        solution is implemented.
      Input values
        In the standard system the switch is set to 1. You can set the switch to
        1, 2, 3, or 4. The different switch settings determine how the system is
        to react for personnel numbers that are not linked to the organizational
        structure (this means those in the Organizational Assignment infotype
        (0001) with the default position as their position).
        You may want to use the organizational unit stored in the Organizational
        Assignment infotype (0001) for the authorization check of such personnel
        numbers (if available). If this is required, the main switch must be set
        to 1 or 3. If it is not required the switch should be set to 2 or 4.
        If the person is assigned the default position, but has no
        organizational unit in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001) (or
        if this should not be evaluated), then you cannot perform an
        authorization check using the organizational assignment. In this case
        you can enter whether the system should allow authorization per default
        or not. If you do not want to allow authorization per default, set the
        main switch to 1 or 2. If you do want to allow it, enter 3 or 4. You
        have the following combination options:
        Evaluate org. unit/reject authorization per default:        1
        Evaluate org. unit/allow authorization per default:     3
        Never evaluate org. unit/reject authorization per default:  2
        Never evaluate org. unit/allow authorization per default:   4
      Note
        For non-context authorization objects, make the setting using the switch
        ORGPD.
    if you're not using context, you should have a look at the ORGPD switch values as mentioned at the end of the quoted text above.

  • Error on Flexible Performance Management Appraisal Document

    We are in the process of building Performance Management using Enhancement Package 4 in ECC 6.0. I am having issues with getting the Appraisal Document to work for MSS. Just to clarify too, I have no experience with Performance Management and the fact that we are using Enhancement package 4, our Functional consultants are not sure what to expect either. One more thing, the SICF service is activated.
    *) When trying to preview the Appraisal Document (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hap_document), I am receiving a Portal Run Time error.
    *) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Application HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT, I am receiving u2018Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.u2019
    *) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Configuration HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC, I am receiving u201Cu2018Error in Calling Up Applicationu2019 The Web Dynpro application was called up with the wrong URL parametersu201D.
    QUESTIONS:
    1) Do I have to implement Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) to call the appraisal document?
    2) Is there any special configuration that needs to be done to make the HAP_MAIN_DOC work (portal or R/3)?
    3) Do I need to manually create an SICF service for this?
    4) Is there any documentation on how to implement the Flexible?

    Hello H2R,
    I copied the Iview Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) with Application Name 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS' and the Application Configuration Name 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC'.
    Activated the SICF services of 'hap_main_document', 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC', 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS. Also, I would activate the services that begin with 'HAP' that l thought that I would need.
    In SE80, there are 2 locations to find these Applications: 1) Web Dynpro Comp./Intf. = FPM_OIF_COMPONENT and 2) Package = PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UI.
    As for the notes, we are on SAPK-60420INEAHRGXX, these are the notes that we applied:
    1468466 - PM Launchpad Config
    1463821 - PM Portal Config
    1416756 - OBN Config in PM
    1408243 - Config for OBN

    Business Case,
    Employees will undergo performance evaluations on a yearly basis.  After the managers and employees go through the evaluation process, they conducts a calibration meeting and will change some of the year end results.  Client would like to be able to upload these final results to the appraisals via a spreadsheet. 
    So i need to create Inbound Interface to change the appraisal documents.Can i use
    'BAPI_APPRAISAL_CHANGE' ?

    As per the SAP Documentation, you can use this to change the appraisal elements if the appraisal is in status "In Process".
    However I am not sure which version of SAP you are on and which version of Appraisals you are using.  If you are using the new SAP appraisals, you should review function group HRHAP_IF_DOCUMENT.  The new Appraisals are more complex to work with.

  • Ref: No Valid Appraisal Documents in ECM (Hight Priority)

    Hi Team,
    I have did complete IMG activity for ECM as per client specifications.
    According to that I have created Budgets (by Using BSP's). Now, When I loged as MSS user and selecting the Review of mine. I am getting an error saying that "Error occurred in data reading"...
    I am able to make changes by using Standard Plan "Spot Bonus". So I have made one Compensation Plan Item with Spot Bonus Review and other respective customization. Now I am able to see my Direct Reporting Employees..
    But I am getting an error as "MERIT-CH (i.e., My Comp Plan) has no valid Appraisal documents.."
    Any Help is Highly appreciated...
