in functional specifications i have 10 fields, that 10 fields coming from 4 different data sources, i didnt understand how they can load data into same cube? or they can upload deffirect cube and use multi provider? ple let me know.

i have a doubt in oracle reports 2.5. it is based on a single table only. i request u to reply for the same at the earliest. the problem is as follows:
There are certain code numbers for which sub heading is to be displayed and sub total should be made and grand total to be
made. also main title should appear in each page. also in parameter entry based on date format, month should be chosen
and amounts should be summed from several fields based on the month but beginning with april of the current year.
sample report is as follows:
parameter entry : pf_1 = 1-4-1999 pf_2 = 30-8-1999
NANCE AND ACCOUNT SYSTEM (main title)
machinery expenses sub heading (this is reqd)
code name debit_amount (actually this is not from table)
103001 mech machines 72
103002 sliver m/c 95
sub total 167
elec equipments again sub heading
104001 switch 17
104002 relay switch 95
sub total 112
grand total 279
but the table is as follows table name t1
code varchar6 name varchar30 mo1dbamt m01cramt m02dbamt m02cramt m03dbamt
m04cramt etc upto 12 months all data type number(15,2) totally 26 fields
the debitamount should be summed from fileds m04dbamt,m05dbamt, m06dbamt ..upto m08dbamt - no cramt should be added further any clarifications needed please discuss with me

FIRST AND SECOND TABLE IS CONNECTED WITH THE FIELD QMNUM.

THIRD AND FOURTH TABLE IS CONNECTED WITH FIELD PERNR.
like this 4 tables are connected.
THERE ARE 4 SELECT-OPTIONS IN SELECTION SCREEN I.E

2 PERNR(EMP PERSONAL NO)(FROM 3RD AND 4TH TABLE)
3 COUNT THE NO OF AUFNR FOR EACH PERNR.
4 SUM THE ISMNW FOR EACH PERNR.
IN THE MNGRP COLUMN OF VIQMMA TABLE THERE ARE 4 TYPES OF ENTRIES LIKE FMJS,FMJF,FMCS,FMST AND THEIR CORRESPONDING VALUES IN MNCOD COLUMN OF VIQMMA TABLE
5 NOW I WANT THE 4 COLUMNS WITH SUM OF FMJS,FMJF,FMCS,FMST FOR EACH PERNR IN THE REPORT.
FINALLY THE REPORT SHOULD BE LIKE THIS.

Hi,
Welcome to SDN Forum.
since you know how to extract the data from different tables, you can populate your internal table from them.
Now for calulating sum you can directly use SUM event of LOOP-ENDLOOP on that table.
This will provide you with the sum of the integer/currency fields.

Unchecked the auto height and width box.Set the column width 4px.Change the border color as white or remove border.
And if you are hiding column in middle of table then adjust border accordingly.

Yes you can use multiple database in the one report.

Doubts about generating reports in Oracle

Hi,
I am Oracle DBA, but I need some instructions from you â oracle developers- related to how implement reports from Oracle 9i Application Server Enterprise built on Sun Solaris 9.
Nowadays, my client is using Oracle Reports Server that comes with Oracle 9i AS, but he wants to substitute the Oracle Reports Sever to another software (a cheaper one) so he will be able to decrease the Application Server Enterprise to a Standard edition.
The reports here are constructed under Oracle Reports, and these reports are accessed from a web application.
The flow here is:
The user requires the report in a web page from internet.
The user inputs the parameters in the web page.
So the client machine sends this to the apache server, that constructs the sql statement or calls a procedure stored in the database server.
The return happens in this same way until the user sees its report on the screen in a pdf format.
Now my client wants from me 2 or 3 detailed suggestions to substitute this architecture
that involves so many softwares and servers to a cheaper and simpler one. My target is to remove out the Report Server, and suggest other tools which can do the same.
So, as I am dba, can someone there help me please with any hint????

I'm also not an application developer, but I thinks it depends all on the complexity of the reports. If these are relatively simple, PL/SQL can do the work.
Concerning Java, I heard Oracle's JDeveloper is the right choice.
Some people say, if you are going to start a new project, don't think of Oracle Developer Suite (Forms/Reports), but use Java and JDeveloper.
You may even have a look on HTML DB

Doubt in Alv Report Coloumn Heading

Hi Gurus
I want to print 2 coloumn headings in ALv Report.
For eg: 1st line coloumn heading contains
              Name   Number        Date      status
            2nd line coloumn heading contains under status
                          Active      Incative
Then if my list size is not enough to show the full details. so i can cut it in 2 lines
    if my list contains 20 coloumns
    i have to put 10 coloumns in first line
    then remaning 10 coloums in second line.
i want the solution for both the questions.

For the first issue
Use Top of Page Event to write a simple list which will act as a header for the alv list.
Second issue:
In the fieldcat,
Position all the first 10 coloums row_pos = 1
Position all the next 10 coloums row_pos = 2

Doubt on ALV report download to EXCEL

Hi All,
i have written a report with ALV_GRID FM, by default we get the option to download the output to excel. But when we click on the download to excel, it displays the output
in the frist page, but it also opens so many pages like
format, header, pivot,sub1,sub1....etc.
Pls. check the SAP standard report BCALV_TEST_FULLSCREEN, does the same thing when we do download to excel.
How can i avoid opening so many pages in excel?

Doubt on ALV report

Hi gurus,
     For all of your support , I written the ALV report.Now the field is editable. But the problem is I need to save that field value what we edited.
       Actual requirment is we have some materials list.of vehicles... Those vechicles will move to repair after some days. Then in repair location, the user will enter some comments about that material like when it will be replaced like..That note data need to be saved.. When ever the users will execute the same report once again, that saved data will be appear..
      Please suggest me on this issue..

Hi Paluri,
ALV can accomdate reports of lenght more than 255 columns. Try to use ALV for your report.
Use function modules REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY or REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
Otherwise use NEW-PAGE LINE-SIZE XXX in your report.

Doubt Regn User reports

Hi,
I have customized the user report to genereate a report of users based on one User Attribute.For this I have added the query for that attribute.
But now I am facing a problem to display that attribute value in the report.
It is not displaying any value for that attribute and it is saying "No value" for all rows in the report.
If I want to display the value of that attribute do I need to customize anywhere in UserUIconfig or anywhere else.
If anyone knows it can you tell me it s very urgent for me.?

I'd try to add that attribute to UserUIConfig's QueryableAttributes section.
Didn't try this, but I believe, that could do the trick.
There may be other sections in UserUIConfig... which could be the "Right Ones".
